Author's notes: This is bad! Ratso has a Beast with 4200 attack points and Shadowcobra only has two Vampires with 2500 and 2050 attack points. Can he win? Will Raven cheer him on? Read on!

Part 92: Genesis of the Vampires

Ratos's monster, the Master of OZ was a large creature that looked like a cross between a kangaroo and a koala bear. It had green fur and wore red boxing gloves and boots. It also had a long kangaroo tail and pouch. It also wore a purple vest. If that wasn't enough, it also had pretty high attack points (4200).

Ratso smirked. "Attack the Vampire Lord!" The Master of OZ charged and slammed its fist into the Vampire Lord. The Vampire Lord doubled over and shattered. Shadowcobra lost Life Points from the damage as well as the Poison Fang Magic Card

Shadowcobra: 3100 LP

Ratso: 3450 LP

"Now your monster can't come back from the Graveyard since it was destroyed through battle," Ratso said, grinning proudly.

"Aren't you the smart one," Shadowcobra retorted, sarcastically. His monster is too strong. I have to find a way to destroy it. He drew a card. "I play Vampire Baby in Defense Mode and shift my Vampire Lady to Defense Mode.

Shadowcobra's new monster was a baby-like vampire dressed in a green cloak. (700/1000) it gained attack points from the field magic card and lost some defense points. (1200/600).

"Looks like Shadowcobra is in trouble," said Draco. "He has never faced anything this strong before."

"Running away?" Ratso taunted, drawing a card. "I should end this quick, but I'd like to see you squirm. Master of OZ! Attack Vampire Lady with Marsupial Fist!" the giant beast stepped forward and crushed the female vampire with its fist.

"My move!" Shadowcobra drew a card. This should buy me some time! "I'll activate Swords of Concealing Light!' Shadowcobra activated his magic card and black energy swords rained down around Ratso and his monster disappeared and turned into a facedown card in defense mode. "This card will change the position of all your monsters to facedown defense mode. However, it'll be destroyed on my 2nd standby phase."

Ratso smirked. "Buying yourself some time? Pathetic!" he drew and added the card to his hand. "End turn."

Shadowcobra drew a new card and played it, "I'll play Pyramid Turtle in defense mode!"

Ratso drew his card, "End turn."

Shadowcobra drew a card from his deck and his eyes widened. His Swords of Concealing Light were immediately destroyed since it was his second standby phase. He grimaced before he said. "I end my turn."

Ratso drew his card. "Master of OZ! Destroy his Vampire Baby!" the Vampire Baby met the same fate as the other Vampires as it was crushed under the Beast's fist. That left Shadowcobra with only his Pyramid Turtle. "I'll then activate the magic card Fissure to destroy your Pyramid Turtle!" The monster fell into a chasm and was destroyed. "Your turn."

Shadowcobra drew a card and added it to his hand. "I'll place a monster in facedown defense mode and end my turn."

"Man! Shadowcobra has only one monster on his field! If Ratso attacks, he won't have any monsters to protect him!" Draco whined.

"Have faith," Raven said. "I know he's just biding his time. Maybe he's waiting for something to happen."

"You have a lot of faith in him, huh Raven?" Jinx cut in. Raven nodded.

"ATTACK!" Ratso ordered and Shadowcobra's monster was destroyed. It was another Pyramid Turtle and by its effect, Shadowcobra can summon another Zombie monster to the field. Shadowcobra looked through his deck and summoned another Vampire Lady to the field. "That monster will be destroyed in the next turn!" Ratso laughed.

"Stop gloating!" yelled Shadowcobra. "You haven't won yet," he reminded. He drew a card. "I'll summon my Kuribo in defense mode!" Shadowcobra's monster was a brown fur ball. (300/200) it gained 500 attack points from the Field Magic Card. (800/0) "I'll then shift my Vampire Lady to defense mode."

"How cute!" Starfire squealed, placing her hands to the sides of her face. She stared at Kuribo lovingly. "I would like so much to cuddle that!" The crowd murmured

"Why does he have THAT monster?" Raven asked no one in particular. Draco shrugged.

"I've never seen Shadowcobra use that thing before!" Takada said.

Ratso was laughing his head off. "You're playing THAT? It's too weak and useless!" Kuribo fumed with anger.

"Big things come in small packages," Shadowcobra said. "You really shouldn't insult my monster. I'll set a card facedown and end my turn."

"Then I'll draw and attack your Vampire Lady!" the giant monster darted forward and slammed its fist, crushing the Vampire Lady. "End turn. It's just a matter of time. So stop stalling and just give up. You can walk away with no regrets."

Shadowcobra shook his head. "Not likely…Draw!" Shadowcobra drew a card and smiled. "I set a card facedown and end my turn."

"I begin my turn by drawing and attack your Kuribo!" Ratso pointed at Kuribo. "Say goodbye to your overgrown dust bunny!"

Shadowcobra smirked. "Activate Quickplay Magic Card! Multiply!" his facedown card flipped up to reveal a Magic Card. Suddenly, Kuribo multiplied into five. Master of OZ destroyed one and went back to Ratso.

Ratso sighed, "So you traded in your puffball for more, huh?"

"Insult them, huh?" Shadowcobra smirked as he drew his card. Perfect! "I will win this duel and destroy your monster!"

"How will you do that?" Ratso challenged.

"First I'll shift all my Kuribos into attack mode," Shadowcobra announced and all his Kuribos got into attack position. Ratso laughed.

"You're committing suicide!"

Shadowcobra smirked, "Am I?"

Raven was unable to hold in her enthusiasm. She yelled out, cheering, "You can do it, Shadow! Kick his ass!" the others stared and later joined in her banter.

Thank you, Raven…everyone "Then I activate a card known as Monster Reborn to bring back my Vampire Lord!" Shadowcobra stated. Vampire Lord returned in all its regal manned. "Now I'll trade it in for something stronger!"

"What?" Ratso demanded.

"I remove my Vampire Lord from play to summon the MASTER OF ALL VAMPIRES…VAMPIRE GENESIS!" (3000/2100)-(3500/1700)

Shadowcobra's new monster was a gigantic muscle bound purple creature with bat wings. It towered everyone and stood at the same height as the Master of OZ!

"He's weaker than my monster!" Ratso pointed out.

"Now he is. So, I'll activate this Magic Card! Go United We Stand!" Shadowcobra announced.

"What is that card?" Raven asked.

"It's an equipment magic that increases the attack of the equipped monster by 800 points for every monster on the controller's field. This is gonna be good!" Draco said.

"What! No!" Ratso protested.

Vampire Genesis (ATK:7500!)

"VAMPIRE GENESIS! ATTACK MASTER OF OZ WITH BLOODY LIGHTNING!" Shadowcobra's monster roared and fired a beam of Crimson Energy right at the giant marsupial. It shattered into nothingness. Ratso fell to the ground.

Ratso:150 LP

Shadowcobra: 3100 LP

Ratso looked at his Life Points. He smirked. "I'm not out yet!" he yelled.

"I'm not finished yet!" Shadowcobra said. "Kuribos! Attack him directly!"

"No!"

All the Kuribos flew forward and slammed into Ratso. He had lost

Ratso: 0 LP

Shadowcobra: 3100 LP

WINNER: SHADOWCOBRA!

The Titans cheered and ran towards Shadowcobra, hugging him. Raven was the first to wrap her arms around her Knight and lock his lips with hers. He kissed her back just as passionately.

Afterwards, Shadowcobra walked toward Ratso and held out his hand. Ratso growled, "Here!" and handed him a sack full of 200 gold coins. Ratso stood up and walked away.

Shadowcobra checked the money. "Nice…" he rejoined his group and they all went back to the inn.

In the Gamemaster's Fortress, Toros was talking to Astra, Dagger and Mad Mod about his next plan to get rid of the Titans. Ratso walked in. Toros noticed him and stared at him.

"You lost?" Toros said a matter a factly.

Ratso gritted his teeth and glared, "I'll get him for this!" Ratso's form shifted and he became… Vermin!
