Hey, I don't own Shadow Falls. Wish that I did, but I don't.
Hello readers! I wanted to talk to you before you read this chapter. The first thing is that the rest of the story will be written in first person from Sam's point of view. It's easier for me to write and I think it would make the story a little more interesting because you will know what is going on in Sam's little brain of hers. Another thing is that I will be doing TWO different endings. Count 'em; TWO. One will be a shorter ending and the other will be a longer ending for those of you who want more detail. But anyway, this is the beginning of the short ending. You will be informed when the story is over and when the second ending will start. Thanks for reading!
"Sam."
The medicine was wearing off. Wind was blowing my hair across my face. My arms were around someone's neck.
"Sam."
Colors of green and brown started coming into my vision. Scents of trees and grass and the forest and-

dog.
I quickly opened my eyes, startled. My vision was blurred and I was still groggy. A moment later, I realized I was on someone's back, soaring through the forest near camp. I turned to my right and saw Burnett.
"Stop!" he yelled over the wind. At whom, I didn't know, but the person carrying me halted quickly. They kneeled down and I got off. The anonymous boy that had carried me turned around and I was dumbstruck. It was Chris, the arrogant, egotistical, jerk of a werewolf. I was speechless. He grabbed my shoulders and got close to my face. Chris looked angry, like he was about to scream or cry. But instead, he embraced me. He squeezed me while he hugged my weak and frail body.
"What are you doing?" I asked breathlessly. He continued to hold me for a second more and finally let me go.
"Can you give us a minute?" he asked Burnett?
"I'll be back in five minutes." he said harshly.
I didn't wait for the vampire to be out of hearing range. "What's going on? Where are we and how did you find me?" I was scared but I didn't care. I was on the verge of tears and was too tired to be angry.
"Sam, listen to me." Chris paused for a moment. "Calm down. I'll tell you what happened if you stop crying." I didn't realize that tears were leaking from my eyes. I quickly dried my face and waited for him to continue. "I heard you in the woods talking to Jason. I was out walking when I heard some commotion. I came over and saw three men and Jason jumping the fence with you unconscious. I knew something was wrong, so I followed. They were too fast so I went back so Burnett could help me track them. Everyone was so worried…." He blushed. "I was worried."
"But…." I didn't know what to say. I had spent my whole camp experience hating Chris and assuming he hated me too. "You don't like me. You're a werewolf and you guys hate vampires- hate me. I don't understand. You've called me names, been mean to me, what changed?"
"You almost died! That's what happened!" He took a long moment to compose himself. "This whole summer, I have been mean to you and ignored you just so I could hide my feelings for you. I've thought about you constantly ever since I first laid my eyes on you. But I knew I wouldn't ever be able to act on those feelings. I haven't been able to think of anyone or anything else all summer."
I was speechless. The were that I believed hated me for months was now confessing his feelings for me.
"Chris…I don't know what to say."
"I know you probably don't have any feelings for me I've treated you badly all summer. I'm asking for your forgiveness and to give me a second chance. I don't care what anyone else thinks about werewolves and vampires being together. I want to be with you. So will you give me another chance?"
"Okay." I replied simply.
Thank you for tuning in for another chapter! The next short ending chapter will be up shortly. Don't forget to follow, favorite, and review! PS: my birthday is on Wednesday, so you should wish me a happy birthday :P
