A/N: Enjoy the shocks we enjoyed writing them :-)

Adam had set up the press conference very carefully and over the phone. "This is going to be chaos." He said once it was all set up.

"Yes but we thrive on chaos."

"I know that." He said with a small smile.

"So, calm down." Feliss said.

"I'll try. It's just hard."

"Adam, we'll be okay." She said hugging him.

"Okay, I can trust you." He said returning the hug.

"What about me?" Roslyn asked.

"I trust you but you're staying out of this."

"Why?" She asked.

"Because it's far too dangerous."

"Dad, I can handle myself."

"Not against Vanessa." He and Feliss both said.

"Why not?" She asked hurt by their lack of faith in her.

"Because no one's ever encountered Vanessa without ending up: dead, critically hospitalized, comatose, captured, and/or brainwashed."

"So you do not trust me."

"It's not you that we don't trust, Roslyn."

"Seems that way."

"We just said no one and that includes us. We're just trying to protect you."

Roslyn signed. "So what you're saying is it's a suicide mission."

"No, it's not." Adam said.

"Then why can't I help?"

"We do not want you hurt."

"Well, I don't want you guys to get hurt either."

"We are the parents here."

"It's not fair." Roslyn whined.

"We just want you to be safe."

"What about you guys?"

"We are used to the risk."

"Is there any time you guys got out okay?"

"Well..." Feliss trailed off.

"No not really." Adam said.

"Then you'd need any help you can get."

"I suppose." Feliss said.

"So I can?"

"Sure." She sighed.

"Really?"

"Yes." Adam said.

"Thank you," She said hugging them both.

"No problem."

"Just, be as careful as you can. Team safety always comes before mission completion."

"Got it." Roslyn said.

"That is not up for discussion, Roslyn."

"I know."

"Alright, then I guess you can go."

"Yes! Thank you!"

"Please don't make us regret this."

"I won't. I swear. I'll try not to at least." She added.

"You won't." Adam corrected.

"I won't." She said with a gulp. Adam and Feliss nodded and they set off. "So, when is the conference exactly?"

"In one hour." Adam said.

She was surprised but agreed, "Alright, the sooner the better."

"Exactly." Adam said.

"She needs to at least be knocked down from her current position as soon as impossible." Felicity added.

"That is the idea anyway." Adam said.

"That does make sense."

"Perfect now shall we?" Adam asked.

"Yes, we shall." Adam nodded leading the way into the white house.

Roslyn gulped keeping in mind what they said. "Just be calm." Adam said.

"Okay, I will." He nodded heading for the office.

"Ready?" He whispered to both of them. They both nodded. So he pushed open the door.

There she was dressed in a press worthy pant suit. She smiled seemingly ignorant to what this is or at least pretending to be. "Hello, great to see you all again."

"You as well." Adam said carefully.

"So, are you all ready for this?"

"Yes, we are, oh, Madame President, you know my wife and daughter right?"

"Yes I do. Nice to see you two as well."

"And you." Feliss said keeping a forced calm.

"So am I." Roslyn said as well.

A little under an hour it was time for the press conference. Vanessa stood at the podium. "Good day, Firestorm leader Adam Garcia Shapiro has discovered a threat to national and possibly global security."

She stepped aside letting Adam take the podium. "We recently discovered someone very high in the government is not who they appear to be. In fact, I'm sure most of you have at least heard of the Doofenshmirtz family correct?" There were gasps and nods. "Well, the culprit is the previously believed to be deceased Vanessa Doofenshmirtz. According to a DNA screening she is the woman standing next to me."

"The president?"

"Exactly, hence the urgency."

"So, you found me out?" Vanessa said.

"Felicity did. I was too busy being brainwashed."

"Oh, you know you loved it." She said.

Adam nearly threw up a third time but managed to keep it down. "No, I did not."

Vanessa rolled her eyes with a smirked ignoring the press for now. "You just don't want to admit it."

"Are you going to come quietly or not?" Adam asked.

"Wow, I know it's been twelve years but it's like you don't know me at all."

"Had to ask." Adam shrugged.

She quickly drew out and fired a ray gun confirming the claim without a possible shadow of doubt who she was. Adam dodged. "Old trick." She scowled and just kept firing until Feliss kicked her in the back of the knees.

They of course buckled but she recovered quickly and spun to punch Feliss but she caught the fist, "You probably shouldn't have done that." She said in an allusion to Kickin' It. Feliss kicked him in the gut sending back a step but Vanessa fired her ray gun at Feliss which she dodged pulling Roslyn down. The ray just barely went over Roslyn's head. "Stay vigilant." Feliss said.

"Right," Roslyn gulped dodging a blast.

"That's my girl."

"Later," She said fearfully.

Feliss nodded and rushed to Vanessa. Before Feliss could reach her robots that they had not seen in years rose up. "I was wondering about those." Felicity said not even flinching.

"Of course I had these made."

"Good, wouldn't want it to be too easy." Felicity said taking one down.

Roslyn stood and punched one herself. It hurt a little but she had taken its head off. She smiled and turned to the other robots.

'I can do this.' She thought to herself and kicked another right at the body. Her foot went through it. She smirked and spun taking out another one. "This is fun." She said.

"It can be yes." Felicity said with a smirk.

Meanwhile Vanessa aimed a kick at Adams head. He ducked it and went to knock her other leg out from under her. She jumped and flipped over him landing perfectly behind him. He spun around and aimed a punch right at her nose.

She caught his fist. "Reinforced gloves."

"Oh, so she can be taught." He said and kicked her in the gut. She fell down to one knee. "I don't know how you came back, Vanessa but it's time you die for good."

"Oh come now, Adam. You can't kill me."

"Done it twice before."

"You did not love me then."

"I don't love you now either!"

"Oh sure you don't."

"I don't! I never could without you doing something like that!"

He was beyond shocked when tears started to well up in her eyes. "No, that can't be."

"What is wrong with you?"

"But… I love you, Adam."

"You what!?" Adam asked surprised.

"I love you." She repeated some of the tears starting to spill. "I always have."

"Say what now?" Feliss said.

Vanessa suddenly turned to Felicity through tear filled eyes, "This is all your fault!" She yelled and started firing rapidly and unpredictably at Felicity who dove behind the podium.

"What did I do?"

"You stole him!"

"No I didn't, Vanessa. He fell for me fairly. He might have fallen for you if you were not so crazy."

"Like you're any less!" Vanessa shouted and kept firing.

"I am crazy in a good way not a psycho way."

"Like you weren't really trying to destroy him for close to two years!"

"I was desperate I was forced to do bad things you CHOOSE to." Feliss said as Roslyn's jaw dropped.

"At first but you CHOOSE to continue!" She finally destroyed the podium Felicity was hiding behind but couldn't stop crying. "It's not fair!" She went to fire again and Adam grabbed her wrist.

"Vanessa life is not fair that does not mean we can just do whatever we want because we feel robbed." He said. She looked back at him for once having no idea what to say or do. "Just drop the ray gun nobody has to die here I can get you put on a life in home arrest in one of your houses if you surrender now we can end this after years it can be over." Adam said calmly.

They were honestly surprised when she dropped the ray gun and deactivated her remaining robots before putting her hands in the air. "Alright, I surrender." Adam approached and cuffed her. "There something else you should know though." Vanessa said looking down as he cuffed her.

"What's that?" Feliss asked as she and Roslyn came over.

"I'm pregnant."

This time all three jaws hit the floor. No one was sure what to say, Feliss eventually settled enough to pull out her sonic screwdriver and run a scan, "She's telling the truth. About five weeks along."

Adam rubbed his eyes what was he supposed to do now? "I'm the father aren't I?" She blushed and nodded awkwardly. "That certainly complicates things."

"Sorry." She said.

"Just, give me a second. Okay, first we finger print her and we can put her on a Firestorm hovercraft for that until we can get this sorted out better.

"Alright, fair enough." Vanessa agreed.

Adam pulled out his communicator and called for one. "It will be here shortly." He told her once it was called in.

"Thanks."

"This is just, a lot. Even for us."

"Yeah really." Roslyn said.

Before anyone could respond a craft came overhead and ropes were lowered for each of them to board. They each got up with some help in Vanessa's case since she was still cuffed.

"Be careful." Adam said to the men coming to finger print Vanessa. She said turned around since they're still cuffed behind her back.

They inked and printed her finger prints then lead her to a cell. "What exactly was the point of the prints?" She asked as she was lead down.

"Verification of identity."

"Right, I guess that makes sense."

"Yes, inside." The man said opening the cell.

She nodded and went in not wanting something to happen to her and by extension the baby. They closed the door and she could see Adam pacing outside. Given everything she certainly could not blame him. "What do I do?" He muttered.

"I guess I went too far this time."

"Yeah you think so?!" Adam asked.

"Yes, even for me."

"You brainwashed me, made me have an affair, and because of it now you are pregnant and the country has no leader." Adam listed off.

"I know and though you were probably planning on it I want you and Felicity to have the baby once they're born."

"I don't know if she will want to."

"I guess I can understand that."

"So you see my problem?" He asked.

"Yes I do." He sighed and slid down against the bars of her sell until he was sitting. "I'm really sorry, Adam." Vanessa said right up there with all the other surprises of the day.

"I just don't know what to do." He sighed.

"I know that." Vanessa sighed sitting down in her cell.

"What if she hates me now?"

"She wouldn't hate you. She never could."

"You don't know that what if this is too much?"

"She can't possibly blame you for this."

"I don't know." He said sadly.

"Come on, she knows it's my fault."

"I know she does but what if this is too much?"

"You honestly don't think she'd leave you over this do you?"

"I do not know."

"She never would, I promise."

"Why do you care?"

"It's the least I can do. You gave me a chance."

"Yeah, well, I was sick of the circle we have been going in for years."

"I'm not talking about at the press conference." She corrected scotching towards him. "Sure, fourteen minutes ago you gave me a chance to survive but fourteen years ago you gave me a chance to live."

"Oh, way back then?" He asked.

"Yes, when you killed my father."

"Yeah, sorry, I gave him a chance.

She nodded, "More than he deserved."

"I always give chances."

"Well, either way, I'm glad you killed him."

"You are?"

"Yes, I really am."

"Why?" He asked.

"He was quite obviously a truly horrible and heartless man. Did you really think I was any exception?"

"Yes, he loved you."

"Well, you're wrong."

"I was?"

"Yes you were." She said with a sigh.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Well first of all any boy that I showed any interest in or showed interest in me he'd either banish or kill."

"Sounds lonely." He said.

"It's actually the real reason he had first targeted you and your friends at that party."

"What do you mean?"

"Fifteen years or eight lifetimes ago, before you even knew about Firestorm and my father or even this dimension and the Normbots crashed that ball."

"Why? I knew none of you then."

She seemed hurt by that scotching closer to him. "You mean you don't recognize me?"

"No, sorry, should I?"

"Does the name Natalie Pentz ring any bells?"

"Yeah, Natalie Pentz, she was the girl I dated in Miami...I loved that girl for a while." Adam said.

"Then she broke up with you. Did you ever think she had a good reason for doing so? Or at least what she thought was?"

"I never considered her side. Why?"

"Because I was Natalie Pentz. I had to provide a fake name and disguise hoping he wouldn't find out but it was clear that wasn't working so I had to break up with you to protect you which worked even worse."

"You were her just to get to me?" Adam asked.

"No, it started as a get away from my dad and all..." She said.

Adam looked at her at complete loss for words for a while, given everything that's happened that day he though nothing could be even more surprising. He was wrong. "That was you?"

She nodded slowly, "Yes it was."

"Wow, that is...surprising."

"I know. Practically completely different girls."

"Yeah, and then you suddenly broke it off."

"I had to. My father was figuring it out. As hard as it may be for you to believe I was just trying to protect you."

"It still hurt though."

"I know. It didn't hurt me any less."

"You made it seem like it didn't."

"Does take a lot of skill but it really did. I'm sorry." She added.

He seemed to hesitate before saying, "Apology accepted. I have to go see my family." He said standing up.

Without waiting for a response, he headed back to where Feliss and Roslyn were. "Did you really try to kill dad?" Roslyn was asking Feliss when he arrived.

"It's a long story." Feliss sighed.

"Well, I want to hear it."

She hesitated but explained the whole story.

"So, it was forced?"

"Yes,"

"You really fell for him?" She asked.

"Eventually, not until about a year and a half after we started dating and about a week before he proposed." Feliss said regretfully.

"That long huh?" Adam asked surprising them both at his appearance.

"You knew that." She said turning to him. "How did it go?"

"It was interesting to say the least.

"Care to share? It's soundproof even to us."

Adam launched into the explanation.

"Wait, so you actually used to date her back in Miami?"

"Apparently."

"Unbelievable," She breathed.

"I know." Adam said.

"Well, is any of that still there?"

"Any of what?" Adam asked.

"The feelings."

"No, those are gone." Adam said.

"You always said you don't just stop caring about someone though."

"I don't, but romantically those feelings are gone."

"Are you sure?" She double-checked.

"Yes, Feliss, I am." Adam said.

"Well, alright."

"I promise." He said hugging her.

Feliss returned it, "Alright, I believe you."

"Thank you." Adam said.

"So, what now then?"

"We, figure out what to do with her. Of which I have no idea."

"Neither do I." Feliss sighed.

"Well, what about what you had told her." Roslyn suggested.

"Oh, I can do that, I was more concerned about the baby."

"For now or after they're born?"

"Both." Adam said.

"Well, for now it doesn't seem that would affect it."

"Yeah, just with complications during pregnancies and all. I want that baby to be born safely." Adam said.

"Maybe you could have her in one of the manor's rooms and just keep her in there for the duration that way Dr. Baljeet can make sure of that."

"I am not sure on that. We might have to put her in Doofenshmirtz tower in Danville until the baby is born." Adam said.

"The main one in Danville?" She asked.

"Yes then we can take Jeet there when the baby is born and we have round the clock surveillance."

"That should work." Felicity said thoughtfully.

"Yeah, I hope."

"For after the baby's born, Vanessa had actually requested that you and I could raise him or her."

"She did?" Feliss asked surprised.

"Yes, she did."

"That's odd."

"Yes it is. What do you think though?"

"Well I guess we could but..."

"But what?"

"Well, she deserves to have a hand in raising the child."

"Well, I guess but are you sure that would be safe?"

"Why would it not be?" Feliss asked.

"I'm just thinking for the baby's sake."

"Why would it be bad for the baby?"

"I'm not sure she would be able to raise him or her right."

We can still help raise her, but let Vanessa have a hand in it too."

"That does sound best. That way she gets to watch her own child grow." Adam said.

"How would we do it though?"

"We have them live near and we can go back and forth with her."

"So, I have the baby on some days she does on others."

"Joint custody then?" Feliss said nodding.

"Then I'll talk to her about it but what if she refuses?"

"Then we'll work from there." Feliss said.

"Alright, think I should tell her now?"

"Probably best yeah."

"Alright, would you prefer to come with or stay?"

"I will come if you want me to." She said.

"It might help if you do."

"Okay." Feliss said taking his hand. He held on and led her back to Vanessa's cell.

She was lying on the bed starring at the ceiling. "Vanessa, Felicity and I had come to a compromise on what to do after the baby's born."

"Okay what?" She asked.

"We decided it might be best to do a joint custody since they are still your child as well so it would only be fair that you could see him or her grow up."

"Really you two would do that?" She asked.

"Yes, no parent should ever have to lose their own child." Felicity said.

"Thank you." She said tearing up a little.

"You're welcome. As parents we could never make anyone do that."

"Okay." She said.

"Still, it really does mean a lot." They nodded as she smiled at them. "You guys really think I could though?"

"Yes, we do. You take great care of those you love." Feliss said.

"Yeah, great." She said not believing the claim.

"How about this then I think you can be a good parent. Having a child changes you."

That caught her attention and she rose to a sitting position. "I guess you're right."

"I am. Believe me. It makes you better than you were."

"Alright, I trust you. Thank you."

"It's no trouble. There's still one thing I don't get though."

"What's that?"

"If you love me, why did you torture me?" Adam asked seriously.

"It was a combination of jealous and temporary loss of sanity."

"Well, that's a shitty reason. Not that there's any good ones."

"I know." She said.

A hand went up to an injection site on his head, "No, you don't."

She looked down and pulled back her hair, "Wanna bet?" There it was a hole just like theirs.

There were two thuds as both Adam and Felicity fainted.
