A/N: Sorry family troubles have kept me distracted in publishing. We hope you like it!
Enjoy!
A while later Adam and Felicity had come to but were still having trouble processing this new information, "So... he actually...?" He started awkwardly in absolute shock that Doofenshmirtz would have done that to his own daughter. Vanessa nodded. "That..." He started but after some thought concluded, "explains a lot actually."
"Yeah, I hope so." She said.
"It was many years ago though. I had pretty much literally just escaped when I made it to Miami and when he did find me he had just gotten Felicity so I wasn't put back on it."
"That's sick." Felicity said.
"I know that." Vanessa said bitterly.
"I'm sorry." Adam said.
"It's not your fault."
"Still. That table… hell, I wouldn't even wish that fate on your father himself. It's the ultimate torture." Adam said staring at her. Besides the holes though, she looked normal.
"Yeah it is, but I had less time than you both."
"How long?" Felicity asked.
"A few months. I couldn't really tell any more specific." She added.
"Of course not, it's hard to on the table." Adam said.
"Exactly, time never really exists."
"It just drags on." Feliss said.
"I know obviously nothing can make it okay but I'm sorry to both of you."
"Nothing to be done now. What's done is done."
"I know but I'm just such a terrible person."
"Not really, just not sane."
"You honestly think that?"
Feliss nodded. "The chemicals as well as just the experience in general are good at destroying the victim's sanity." Feliss added.
"Yeah, they really are." Adam said.
"You seem fine." Vanessa said obviously just to Adam.
"We had time and people there for us. You never really had anyone did you?" He asked her.
"Not really no." She said.
"Then that's the problem." He said honestly feeling sorry for that. The table's bad enough but to not have anyone you can count on after you get off… he couldn't even imagine it. "I'm sorry." He said.
"Not your fault. You did help in Miami."
"Well, glad I could help a little." He said.
"Well, still thank you."
"No problem, now what happens?"
"I guess that's up to you guys and the rest of Firestorm."
"Yeah, we should call them." Adam said. "This we'll definitely change things though." He added and went on his comm.
"I hope for the better?" She asked.
"Most likely."
"Okay." She said.
With that he contacted the base. "Hello, is everyone there?" He asked.
He got an answer from each.
"Alright, so we need to make a plan. The thing is I had just found out something extremely surprising about Vanessa. Well, many things but one most immediately concerning."
"Which is?" Isabella's voice asked.
"You're honestly all going to need to sit down." He said considering he and Feliss both fainted.
"Okay, we're sitting." She said.
"Doofenshmirtz had her on the table."
He heard Isabella spit out whatever she was drinking. "Adam, you can't be serious. The one you and Feliss were on?"
"Yes that one and I am truly serious. She has the holes and in hindsight it does explain quite a lot."
"It does but just...wow."
"Yeah, Feliss and I both fainted when we found out."
"I can imagine..." She said.
"So, given this new information we have to figure out what to do with her.
"That is a tough call."
"On top of that she's also pregnant."
"WHAT!?"
"About five weeks along developmentally but it's likely to go along twice as fast like happened with Roslyn and Slade."
"Wow! Just...okay."
"Exactly, despite everything she's done, I don't think she really needs to be punished. She really just needs help more than anything. When she got off the table and since then she never really had anyone there for her so she went insane the bad way. So, in short, he broke her."
"Like he tried to with you two?"
"Exactly like that."
"Okay, bring her here."
"We're already on our way."
"See you soon then."
"Yeah, see you soon." Adam said and they disconnected. "Well, we decide later."
"You realize I could hear everything right." She point out but was of course smiling seeming rather promising.
"Yeah, I know."
"Hard not to but you of course both know that."
"Yeah, it is hard not to."
"It did seem promising though."
"Yeah, it just might be."
"Thank you so much, Adam. For everything."
"It's no trouble."
"Still, you didn't have to is the thing."
"I suppose. You clearly really need it though." He added.
"Yeah, thank you."
"It's my pleasure really."
"Well still, thank you for caring."
"I've always been a naturally caring person."
"I know; you both have."
"So we have no reason not to." Feliss added.
"So now we wait?"
"All we can do really." Adam answered.
"We should go check on Roslyn." Feliss said.
"Right, of course."
"Yeah, see you in a bit." Adam said. He and Feliss head back to where Roslyn is.
To find her sitting and watching TV having nothing else to do on this ship. "You too okay?" She asked when she saw them. "You were in there quite a while."
"Yeah, it's been an interesting day." Adam sighed.
"I can imagine."
"Yeah, are you okay?" Adam asked.
"Well, for the most part."
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Just processing everything."
"You want to talk?" She hesitated but nodded turning off the TV. "So what do you want to talk about?"
"I'm not sure. It's just a lot."
"Well where do you want to start?"
"What about with what happened with Mom?"
"Do you mean the table or...between me and her?" Adam asked.
"Between you and her."
"Well, we fell in love."
"Before that though, when you first met."
"Oh! Well, I met your mother after Katie died...well we thought she had."
"About a minute before actually." Felicity corrected.
"Right, well we met then and we teamed up to take Vanessa down."
"I mean with her counterpart."
"Oh, the other Feliss?"
"Exactly, with the faked crush."
"Well, originally, I faked a crush on your father to gain his trust. The thing is the plan was originally to destroy him, Firestorm, and the OWCA."
"Why would you agree to that?"
"I was desperate for my freedom and didn't really know anything about any of them at the time."
"So, you went along with it, then what?"
"Then it honestly lasted a lot longer than it ever should have." Felicity sighed.
"You, started to fall for dad?"
"Yeah, right after I tricked him over to my bosses to be 'punished' for killing Heinz."
"After you what?" Roslyn asked confused.
So Felicity explained the whole trip in the first dimension.
"So you gave him over?"
She sighed and nodded. "Once I did though, I really realized what was going to happen to him and that I wasn't pretending anymore."
"That you really loved him?"
"Yes, less than two weeks before we got married. Three months after that, I told him the truth which went about as well as I expected."
"Which was?"
"He blew up saying that it must be true that he really can't trust anyone and ran off."
"You ran away?" Roslyn asked him. He sighed and nodded honestly. "That's not like you Daddy." She said.
"No, that's actually pretty straight on."
"Not the way I know you." She said.
"Well, it's like I told Vanessa. Being a parent changes you."
"So where did you go?"
"I went on the hunt to take Rodney and the company down."
"Did you do it?"
"Made some real process on my own until Isabella and James found me about a week and a half later and convinced me to come back."
"They did?"
"Yeah, I certainly didn't make that easy though."
"Well, you are stubborn."
"Exactly,"
"So, you came back?"
"Yes I did. After one final raid with they're help at which we found my mother who we thought was dead. She was actually the one who convinced me to give your mother another chance. Isabella was dead set against me even talking to her."
"Really? That does not seem like Aunt Isabella."
"Well, try putting yourself in her shoes for a second. Let's say Haydon met someone and fell in love with them but day after he had given everything to them you find out this person was actually just using him and until very recently hadn't really loved him."
"Well...when you put it that way..." Roslyn sighed.
"Exactly, it really was a tough situation."
"She did get over it eventually."
"That is good at least." Roslyn said.
"Yeah, it took time though."
"How long?"
"A few weeks."
"Well, that wasn't as bad as I was thinking." She admitted.
"Yeah, well Isabella is scary when she wants revenge."
"Why? What did she do?"
"She refused to smile at me for a while to start." Felicity answered.
"I guess that does make sense but it is bad." Roslyn sighed.
"Yeah, it was no fun."
"I can't imagine."
"So, then what happened after you came back?"
"I went and talked to her. And we, accepted things."
"That quickly?"
"Yeah, I had missed her." Adam said.
"That is so sweet." Roslyn said with a light smile.
"It really was." Feliss said.
"I honestly never did stop actually."
"You really loved Mom."
"Yes I did. I still do." Adam said.
"That's no secret."
"Yeah and then you were born."
"Oh yeah, that was about the right time." Roslyn realized.
"Yeah, and once we had you we decided we wanted things to be safer for you. So then we went and took down the heads of Wolfgang Industries truly believing that all the big threats but found out the Other Feliss was pregnant with the other you but by then it was too late."
"So, there is no other me?"
"That is right."
"Just you," Feliss said.
"Well, I guess that's good and bad."
"One of a kind." Feliss said.
"One in fourteen billion." Adam said smiling.
"Fourteen billion?"
"Yeah it's the total between the two earths."
"Oh, that does make sense."
"Yeah and you are our little one of a kind daughter."
She smile lightly and hugged them both, "Thank you."
"No problem, we love you."
"I love you, too. You guys are great parents."
"We try to be.'
"You succeed." She said.
"Thank you." They said.
"No problem, it is true."
"And you are a wonderful daughter."
"How so?" Roslyn asked.
"You know when to listen and when to speak out. You are smart, sweet and loyal." She said.
"Thank you, Mommy."
"My pleasure sweetie."
"Everything will be okay, Roslyn." Adam told her.
"You promise?" She asked.
"Yes I do." He nodded.
"Thanks, Daddy."
"My pleasure, you know we'd do anything for you."
"I know and I would for you, too."
"So… what do we do now?"
"We just wait."
"That's boring though."
"Well what do you want to do?"
"I don't know. There's not much here."
"Exactly." Adam smirked.
"Huh?"
"If there is nothing to do then we do nothing."
"How's that good?"
"I never said it was but we're stuck."
"You smirked as if it was."
"No, I just won the argument."
"Oh, I get it." Roslyn sighed.
"Yeah, I do not usually get to win."
"Alright, I'll give you that."
"Thank you." Adam said.
"You're welcome. Even to this day, you're right."
"Not always." Feliss said.
"He said not usually."
"I guess so."
"Which you have to admit is true." Roslyn said.
"Yeah it is."
Hours later they were arriving at home. "Finally," Roslyn said relieved.
"Yeah, nice to be back."
"So, what happens now then?" Roslyn asked getting up.
"You go see your friends and family the adults have a meeting."
"Well alright," She said and hugged them both before blurring off having landed.
"You want to get Vanessa or should I?" Adam asked.
"We could both." Felicity said.
"That works." Adam said.
"Let's go then."
They headed to the prison area. "We're here." He told Vanessa who was just lying on her bed staring up at the ceiling very bored.
"Really?" She asked hopefully.
"Really," He said and unlocked her cell. "Hold out your arms." He said. She cooperated doing just so. He cuffed her it was standard procedure. "Sorry, I really have no way around that."
"It's okay. It makes sense."
"Good, I'm sure things will come out okay though."
"Well, here's to hoping." She said.
"Let's just go see." He said carefully. She nodded following them.
They headed to the meeting room where the other adults were waiting. "We're here." Adam said. They all took a seat Vanessa still handcuffed. "So, we are here to figure out what happens to her now." Adam said. He then added, "I had already presented my opinion over the comms and it still stands."
"That she should be kept safe."
"Yes, as I said I feel she needs help. Not to be punished."
"Alright, well where should we move her to?" Katie asked.
"That is honestly where I expect to meet some disagreement."
"Tell us."
"I think we should keep her here. We'd keep her monitored and guarded at least until Baljeet can mentally clear her and on the lowest clearance level and away from our children unless both of their parents approve and one if not both are there with her. Also obviously away from any weapons."
"I am not sure about that." Katie said.
"Well, we can't just kill her or lock her up: first off, like I said, she really just needs help right now; second, she only did those thing's because her father had managed to break her through TORTURE, life-long isolation, and most likely threats while he was still alive; third she's pregnant with MY child and Feliss and I have already agreed that she deserves a hand in raising her child; forth, she has already proven to evade both without us knowing and just lead us back into a circle; fifth, I never liked doing either unless I absolutely have to."
"Alright, you make a fair point." Katie said.
"Anyone else?" Adam asked calming down from his rant.
"How is she having your child?" Ferb asked.
"Remember how she had me brainwashed? Apparently she had done so to get me to have an affair with her." The room filled with gasps andVanessa looked down at her cuffed hands shamefully.
"And you want her to live here?" Ferb asked.
"We let Feliss live here. We let James and Adyson 1 live here."
"Yes we did and the difference there in both cases was they were brainwashed."
"The thing is now we know that's not different."
"If you say so." Ferb sighed.
"I do. So I see no reason why she shouldn't be able to."
"She tried to kill us."
"Okay, who here has never tried to kill anyone here with the obviously exclusion of Vanessa on who your trying to kill?" Adam asked not raising his hand knowing that was even a lie for him. Connor and Gretchen raised their hands. "Right, good job, you two. Anyone else? Anyone at all?"
No one else raised their hand. "Exactly, the majority of us here have whether because they were brainwashed," He said and looked at Katie, "bribed," he looked at Adyson 1 and James, "threatened," he looked at Felicity, "ordered," he looked at Phineas and Ferb, "or insanely angry about something." He finally looked at Isabella and just finished. "Just remember Vanessa was all five."
"Fine, I still do not have to like it." Katie said and nearly the whole room nodded.
"Well, if anyone has any better ideas feel free to speak up."
"Why not her tower?"
"Because we're trying to help her and prevent that kind of stuff from happening again and that would only make it worse."
"I still do not want her living near our children none of us do except you two."
"We'd make sure she stays away from them."
"Adam, that really does not make it okay. Just because you are in charge does not mean you are the only one who decides who gets to live here."
"I'm not. I'm just saying what I think should and presenting my argument."
"And we are making ours Adam."
"Then again, what do you think we should do with her?"
"Put her in a house in Danville under guard."
Adam sighed and said, "Alright, I can live with that."
"Now hold on a second." Gretchen said. Everyone turned to Gretchen. "I think she should be allowed to live here."
"Seriously?" Katie asked looking at her.
"Well she is about to have a child and she does need help with that and she needs people to be there for her. We were all there for Felicity despite what she did and we forgave her. Plus with the restrictions he had posed I don't really see any reason not to." Gretchen added.
"Well...I suppose." Katie said.
"So, I'm with Adam on this one."
"Thank you Gretchen." Adam said.
"Anyone else agree?" Gretchen asked the group. Ferb nodded standing by his wife and that of course won Phineas' nod. Katie hesitated but nodded trusting her husband.
"So are we agreed?" Adam asked. He looked at Isabella, Conner, Adyson 1, and James who were the only ones left. Isabella nodded James seemed unsure. Adam got an idea for that though, "James, remember Natalie Pentz?"
"Yeah, she was great. Why?" He asked.
"Natalie was Vanessa in disguise to prevent her father from finding her."
"No way!" He said.
"Who's Natalie?" Adyson 1 asked having never heard of her.
"A girl Adam dated in Miami. So she was Vanessa?" Adam nodded not wanting to repeat himself. James looked at Vanessa for a while then nodded.
Adyson 1 nodded trusting him. Finally Conner nodded trusting his own wife. "Good so it's settled." Adam said. He was honestly surprised by this sudden turn in events. Gretchen had just sort of set off a chain reaction. "So we will find her a room then." Adam said.
"There we'll of course have to be rather careful."
"Of course." Adam said. "Besides away from the kids any other requirements?" Adam asked.
"Not near weapons."
"Of course not," He noted thinking of where might be good places.
"Other than that we should be good."
"Okay, I think I have somewhere in mind."
"Where?" Feliss asked.
"Over in the west part of the house closer to the adults."
"That makes sense." Adyson 1 said.
Everyone else agreed seeing no problem with it. "Good so we will keep her there." Vanessa smiled slightly though certainly surprised. "Anything else we need to discuss?" Adam asked. There wasn't anything. "Then dismissed." Adam said.
Everyone else had left their own way and Adam turned to Vanessa, "Well, welcome to the Manor. Just make sure we don't regret it."
"I won't really I swear!"
"I wouldn't have pushed you staying here if I didn't believe you." Adam said taking out the key to her handcuffs.
"Thank you." She said.
"You're welcome. I and everyone else just have to remember that you're really just another victim." He said and uncuffed her.
"So then, let's go." She said.
"Right, I'll show you to your room."
"Thanks." She said.
He took her there which just as Jessica's was a plain but large room. "All the empty rooms are pretty much left to the imagination of whoever takes over them."
"So, I get to decorate?" She asked.
"Yes you do. Any way you want."
"That's amazing!" She said.
"Yes it is. I can help you with it, also."
"So can I." Feliss said.
"Thank you," She said with a weak smile looking the room over trying to come up with any ideas.
"We'll leave you to it then." Adam said.
"Aren't you not supposed to leave me alone?" She asked remembering from the explanation of the deal.
"Right, sorry, I forgot."
"It's okay. It's bound to be awkward anyways."
"Yeah, a bit."
"Makes perfect sense why it has to be this way though." She said still trying to come up with something.
"Yeah, it really does." Adam said.
"So I understand."
"Okay, so ideas?" Adam asked.
"None at all." She admitted.
"So, what's your favorite color?"
She hesitated then answered, "Blue."
"Okay so why not paint it sky blue?"
"That could work." She said imagining it.
"With clouds." Adam added.
"Okay," She said liking that.
"Cool, it'll be nice."
"And you guys will help?"
"Sure, why would we not?" Feliss asked.
"I could think of a number of reasons."
"Well, we will."
"Thank you,"
"No problem, I will go get the paint." Adam said. "Just stay with her, Feliss." He said before disappearing.
To say things between those two were awkward would have been a very large understatement. Neither said anything at first. What is there to say really? "Sooooo..." Vanessa said. "What happened with you and Adam? You look a lot younger."
"Oh, well let me explain." Felicity said going into it.
"That's peculiar." Vanessa said when she was done.
"Well, we sort of had to do it."
"Right, sorry about that."
"What's done is done."
"It's supposed to wear off eventually though?"
"We are unsure."
"Baljeet said it should though." She added.
"I hope it does." Before she could respond Adam returned with the paint. "Sky blue!" Adam announced. "Want to paint it yourself?" Adam asked Vanessa.
"Sure, I do."
"Feel free then." He said stepping back.
She took is and rushed to the walls. She stopped right by the wall and looked back at them asking, "Am I allowed to use my powers?"
"You have those?"
"Of course, otherwise you two would have easily kicked my ass."
"That explains a lot."
"I figured it would. So, my question?"
"Yeah, sure."
She smiled and took a paint brush having it done in seconds. "That's better!"
"That would be a yes, she does." Felicity said looking around.
"Very nice!"
"They really do come in handy." Vanessa said.
"Yeah sometimes."
"It's honestly kind of weird being around others with powers."
"Why?" Adam asked used to it.
"Hey, it was for me when you first got them, too." Felicity pointed out.
"Oh yeah, right." Adam said.
"Yeah, it can be rather odd for a while but you'll get used to it."
"That's a relief then."
"Yeah, it is."
"Are you sure it would for me though?"
"Yes, you'll love it even."
"Well, alright, I guess I can trust that."
"I hope so." Adam said.
"So, what now then?"
"Sleep?" Adam offered.
"Right, probably should."
"Good idea." Feliss yawned.
"We all should." Adam said looking at his wife.
"Okay." She nodded.
"How will the guarding rule work at night?" Vanessa asked.
"We will all take it in shifts until you are trusted."
"Seems like such a burden on you guys though."
"No, it's alright."
"I guess." She said. "I need something to sleep in though."
"No problem, we can go to the clothes floor first."
"Alright, let's go then." Adam nodded and they headed off.
They headed to the third floor and she picked out some good pajamas. "There that should help."
"Good, let's head back then."
"Race!?"
"You're on!" Vanessa said and they both disappeared.
"I win!" Vanessa said.
"Still the slowest." Adam sighed.
"Sorry." Vanessa said.
"It's okay. I just don't win many things."
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I almost never win any contests unless Feliss cheats for me."
"What do you mean cheats for you?"
"Sometimes when I'm in a contest against someone else she messes them up. I don't ask her to; she just does. She sometimes does to other people though. That's actually how James found out when we got engaged. He was just like, 'Adam, your girlfriend keeps messing me up' so I just casually said, 'no, my fiancée keeps messing you up.'"
"Oh, wow really?" She asked.
"Yeah, it was pretty funny."
"I bet." She said.
"Especially since it took him a few seconds for it to click what I said."
"Well, James' reactions are fun."
Adam chuckled slightly, "Yes they are."
"Don't be so down." She said.
"What?" He asked.
"On the competition thing."
"It's only true though."
"So? You win when it counts."
"Well, I guess."
"You do."
"Not always."
"Yes always, when you need to."
"If I did, I wouldn't have these powers."
"One time." She said.
"I had more than that."
"You only lost that once." She said. "Because of that who cares about the silly contests anyways."
"Well, you make a good point."
"Exactly, so don't beat yourself up over it."
"Okay." He said.
"Good," She said and laid down on her bed. "Well, goodnight, Adam."
"Goodnight," Adam said standing outside the door. Given the fatigue from the fight and pregnancy together she had fallen asleep fairly easily. Adam sighed; it had been a very long day.
