ROAR! LOVE THE REVIEWS MY FABULOUS PEASANTS! HAHAHAHA
Yeah it was spontaneously coolio.
Thanks SunMoon-cha fan for the caps lock message. (Was it meant to be chan?) It's a cool name anyway.
Guest-san, Lily will go back to Anko, she won't like it, but she'll go back to Anko. I just want Jasmine to realise being a ninja is hard cos she's still really immature. Lily on the other hand is more mature and understands the risk. Gai will help her out with her people problems, like trust and what not. He will force he to talk with his power of youth. I also just want Lily to suffer through Gai. I reckon with Anko she'll shrug off the torture, but meh.
FIRESTRIPE49 MY FABULOUS SUPPORTEE! THANKS FOR THOSE PURELY EVIL TRAINING METHODS! I WILL CONTINUE TO TORTURE MY LITTLE OCS WITH YOUR EVIL GENIUS MWAHAHAHA!
Anyways...
Disclaimer: Nope, not owning
Warning: Language and Anko with her evil "training" methods
3rd Person P.O.V.
Civilians of Konoha were used to strange things.
A lot of strange things.
Their jounin may be elites with years of experience under their belts, but they were weird as...really you couldn't compare some of them.
They were used to some ninjas strange habits. You could ignore certain little, orange books, the hazard of having a lethal killing weapon in your mouth (Genma swears it's not a hazard. Not at all.) They're even used to certain jounin wearing inappropriate clothes. (Anko swears that mesh and trench coats are appropriate. Gai just continues to talk about the power of youth.)
They've seen Gai and his pupil doing outrageous training exercises around the village. That wasn't new.
What they hadn't seen was the (older) local outcast, Mitarashi Anko sitting on a chair. That was attached to long chains. That was attached to manacles. That was attached to a sweaty, grunting, black/red haired girl. Who was currently dragging the strange procession behind her. While being screamed at by Anko.
That certainly was new.
The population may be busy doing chores and errands around the village, but several people were content to watch the girl struggle along.
Especially the ANBU members that were watching said girl.
"So that's the newcomer?" asked a muffled voice from an owl-shaped mask, he was questioning the squad "leader" of this mission.
A duck-shaped mask ANBU turned his head slightly to Fukuro, but did not take her gaze from her objective. Fukuro rolled his eyes behind his mask, Ahiru was always so serious! After they were off this shift they were definitely hitting the bar near that tea shop that Tanuki seemed to love so much.
"The newcomer," spoke Ahiru calmly, "is called TsukiDoragon Jasumin, and our mission objective is to watch her."
As the duo talked they were following Jasmine and the sitting Anko to the training ground from which the kunoichi-in-training had been training in. Ahiru and Fukuro had been watching the girl "train" (Fukuro snickered the whole time as Jasmine did her push ups) since she started. They had also been watching Jasmine manage to drag Anko through the village and back to the training ground. It had only taken her two hours. It was a...commendable effort, as Ahiru put it.
They stayed quiet as Jasmine was detached from the chains, and promptly slammed into the ground from exhaustion.
"Ohh that's gotta hurt," cringed Fukuro, "she didn't even put her hands out to stop herself from hitting the ground." He chuckled lightly, "that's gonna hurt in the morning!"
"Fukuro the mission," said Ahiru in a monotone as Fukuro got distracted again.
Fukuro threw his hands up in exasperation, "live a little duckie-chan!" He crossed his arms to the side and pouted, but nearly fell out of the tree they were perched in when Ahiru punched him in the arm.
"Don't call me duckie Fukuro," Ahiru was actually starting to get a bit annoyed. Why did taichou put her with Fukuro? They never worked well together, especially after the incident in Mizu no kuni. She had never felt so angry.
Silence fell over the two as they watched a sceptical Jasmine be blindfolded by a grinning Anko. Jasmine stood in the middle of the training ground with her arms outstretched and twitching, trying to find the long gone Anko.
Fukuro had to hold in a snicker as Jasmine began to walk slowly around, only to trip over the ninja wire Anko had stretched in her path.
The wire activated a trap and Jasmine squealed as a kunai nicked her back. She got up from her all-fours where she had landed and began to run aimlessly, trying to dodge flying kunai. Anko popped up from the undergrowth and began to yell at her, "C'MON GAKI! LISTEN TO THE KUNAI COMING TOWARDS YOU! LISTEN FOR THE WHISTLING OF THE WIND, BECOME ONE WITH THE WWIIINNNNDDDDD!" Anko laughed hysterically as Jasmine dodged a narrow miss to the head.
"I HATE YOU SO MUCH RIGHT NOW ANKO-SENSEI!" The girl screamed as she tripped another wire to fire a volley of shuriken at her. She threw herself flat to the ground and tried her best to hear the familiar whirring of weapons that meant her doom.
Standing up cautiously, Jasmine turned slowly in a circle, trying to sense her sensei. Although her chakra sensing was good, when a ninja like Anko didn't want to be found, she didn't want to be found.
Jasmine began to get freaked out and turned in circles faster and faster. "WHERE ARE YOU SENSEI!" She was becoming hysterical as the silence stretched on and Anko didn't make a move.
Jasmine stopped and took a deep breath, stilling herself completely.
"Ahh looks like she's got it," commented Fukuro as Ahiru studied Jasmine closely.
"She has a pitiful amount of chakra and no control," said Ahiru suddenly. Fukuro winced, "so blunt Ahiru!" But he couldn't help but agree. The girls chakra was barely big enough to qualify as a newly graduated genin, about the size of a third year academy student. The chakra wasn't flowing smoothly, instead it was whirling around, a sign of poor chakra control.
The one redeeming feature of the chakra was that it seemed extremely sensitive. The chakra recognised where Anko was and it also seemed to sense the general direction where the ANBU duo was. The girl wasn't trained enough to listen to the alerts of her chakra, although calming down would help her.
Ahiru watched silently as Jasmine breathed deeply and unconsciously began to spread her chakra senses out. The chakra seemed to calm down and bend to her (unconscious) will. It slowly made its way over to the rock that Anko was henged as, Anko felt the slight pulse of chakra, and so did Jasmine.
Keeping her chakra senses open, Jasmine sprinted to where Anko was, picking up a kunai as she went. Awkwardly holding the weapon in a reverse grip Jasmine plunged it towards the rock in a killing blow.
A large puff of smoke washed over Jasmine and hid her from Ahirus' view. As the smoke cleared there was no trace of Anko being there.
Jasmine reached down and patted the ground in front of her, only to find nothing there. Jasmine furrowed her brows, "no log equals no kawarimi." She looked very puzzled as she "gazed" at the ground.
Suddenly she stiffened and Ahiru lip read the words coming out of her mouth.
'Shadow clone? But she said she had no memories of being a ninja. How would she know about such a high level technique? Let alone a kinjutsu for ninjas below jounin.'
Jasmine whirled around to gaze backwards, "not to the back."
She stared to the left and right, "nope."
"No one ever looks up," she mused and stared straight up to the sky.
"Ohh so close gaki," came Ankos' amused voice from below. Jasmine couldn't even yelp as she was dragged down to her neck in the ground.
Anko popped up from the ground and brushed the dirt off of her trench coat, she patted Jasmines' grumpy head and posed majestically. "Be aware of all of your surroundings!" She crowed and continued to make different poses.
"I know Anko is a sadist," whispered Fukuro to Ahiru, "but she can be dead sexy sometimes!"
Ahiru didn't comment in favour of continuing to watch the drama unfolding beneath her. Well not really drama, but Ahiru was secretly amused at this situation.
Don't you dare even think about telling Fukuro.
Anko seemed to be prepared to leave Jasmine there for a while, just to stew over. Of course she first had to..explain some things.
"Okay gaki! First thing," chirped Anko as she squatted next to Jasmines' head, "you are like a headless chicken." Jasmine could do nothing but blink at this, like seriously, what?
Anko stood up and paced with her arms clasped behind her back, like a real lecturer.
"Jasmine," said girl snapped to attention, Anko using her real name meant this must be serious. Anko turned to face jasmine, "if you want to be a ninja you're going to have to pick your game up! When put in a situation, like being blind, you can't lose your cool. You must stay calm and collected, many ninja have died because they panicked in their first real-life battle."
Anko continued to look serious and Jasmine couldn't help but feel solemn at this. Ahiru and Fukuro were listening intently to Anko, this was the part that normally made the kunoichi-wannabes doubt themselves.
"Unless you take being a kunoichi seriously," Anko paused slightly and stared right into Jasmines' eyes, "you'll die."
Jasmine scoffed lightly, "do you think this is a joke to me sensei?" Jasmine turned serious, "I will become a kunoichi. I will protect my precious people." She gave Anko a wide grin, "never give up and never back down. That's my nindo!"
Anko looked slightly surprised but she quickly smiled back, "I never doubted you Jasmine," she said softly. The grin suddenly got bigger and a hell whole heap scarier, "now have fun getting out of here!" Anko began to turn away, "while you dig yourself out I'll bring back your sister dear." She looked back with a sinister smile, "and train her loser ass into the ground!"
And with that Anko finally disappeared in a puff of smoke.
"A FUCKING KAGE BUSHIN?!" Jasmine screamed, Jasmine wiggled in vain, "COME BACK HERE SENSEI!"
3rd person P.O.V. (with the ever beautiful Anko)
Anko was having fun.
The last time she had this much fun was when they had that Kiri nukenin try to kill some farmers on their turf.
He sang beautifully.
Right now though, she was stalking a little rat that was lost. You be damn sure she was going to find it.
Lazily jumping through some trees Anko headed towards Team Gai!s training ground. She knew to search there first because of one simple fact:
All lost shinobi will end up with Gai.
It was inevitable. If a shinobi was lost, or even going for a pointless walk, they all got dragged into training by Konohas' green beast.
Anko had been there.
It was after being ditched by Orochimaru and being chased out of yet another store, Anko wandered the streets sadly. Then she stumbled on a young boy with a bowl-cut and horrendous, green jumpsuit training. He had instantly latched on to her and dragged her into training.
It had taken her five hours to escape.
Anko snorted slightly as she stumbled onto the fairly amusing scene of Lily going through some "easy" stretches.
Sitting on the ground with her right shinbone on the ground and her left stretched out in front, Lily was trying (and failing) to do the splits.
Anko couldn't see Lilys' face, but she was betting that it was scrunched up in extreme pain.
Just how Anko liked it.
Leaping down from her branch Anko made her way over to the slightly whimpering girl.
"Well, well, well...What do we have here?" Anko loomed over Lily and grinned as Lily turned to face her with a terrified look plastered on her face. Sweat ran down her face, from physical exhaustion or fear Anko didn't know, although she was hoping for the later.
"A-anko-sensei!" Squeaked Lily, "wha-what are you doing here?" She finished with a nervous giggle that Anko found to be...endearing.
Anko waved her hand dismissively, "not much, you?" Lily smiled nervously, "I was ah, training with Gai here..."
His name being mentioned meant Gai of course had to jump in.
"MY YOUTHFUL ANKO! I WAS JUST TEACHING LILY-SAN HERE IN THE WAY OF YOUTH! SHE HAS BEEN GOING WELL SO FAR, EVEN IF SHE LACKS SOME OF MY BEAUTIFUL PUPIL LEES' YOUTHFULLNESS!"
"GAI-SENSEI!" came a far off cry from Lee who was working on his katas.
Anko stared at Gai, "what did I say about useless speech to me?" To her annoyance Gai just continued to do that infuriating 15 mega watt smile of his. "Anko you must lighten up more, it is not youthful to dismiss the beauty of expressing your youthfulness!" Anko just sighed, at least he wasn't yelling anymore.
"NEJI! TENTEN! LEE! IS YOUR TRAINING GOING YOUTHFULLY?!"
"My training isn't and never will be youthful," sighed Neji from behind Gai, Anko and Lily. They all turned to the Hyuuga boy who was rubbing his temples, "when did you get there Neji!" Beamed Gai at his student, when didn't he beam?
"You do not need to end all your sentences with an exclamation mark Gai-sensei," drawled Neji as he leant against a nearby tree. The Hyuuga was burning holes into Lily with the intensity of his gaze. Lily had (thankfully) sat down from her splits position and was currently trying to look everywhere but at the Hyuugas' intense gaze.
"But of course Neji," laughed Gai, "if you want to truly access-"
"If you want to truly access the youth, truly access yourself," sighed Neji as he rolled his eyes.
Lily let out a small squeak at that, Neji Hyuuga rolling his eyes? That's unheard of! She quickly whipped her head up to the sky as Neji turned his gaze back on to her, but she wasn't going to meet his gaze! Nope, not at all.
Anko grinned wolfishly at this, although the Hyuuga had his ass handed to him and he had "changed his ways," some habits were hard to break. Hard to break like that rod up his ass that all Hyuuga seemed to have, excluding that wimpy looking, shy girl in the exams.
Lily was trying to remember how to breathe.
After Gai watched her finally finish her hundred punches and kicks (Lily had to stop several times because her weights were dragging her down so much), he had immediately made her drop into several painful and embarrassing stretches for her splits.
Trying to breathe with your leg near your head was hard.
Then Ankos' evil grin and promising look of pain made her gasp and sweat. Add stupid Nejis' stare and you've got a recipe for a nearly hyperventilating girl.
Lily snapped out of her near hyperventilating state because of a sharp cuff on the back of her head. Anko grinned at the irritated girl before turning back to Gai, "I'm taking my gaki back with me now." She stared at Gai, almost challenging him to disagree with her, but this was Gai so he just laughed her off.
"Lilys' youthfulness has been sparked and I'm sure someone as-"
"-Do not call me youthful Gai."
"-someone like you Anko will be able to kindle her blossoming spark and make our lily bloom into a beautiful flower!"
Gai did the nice guy pose and his teeth sparkled reassuringly?
Anko merely grunted and grabbed Lilys' leg, dragging her away. Lily waved a quick goodbye at the two green beast, disappointed that Tenten was still training out of sight. She managed a quick glare at Neji before she was snapped up by the tree foliage.
The males three of Team Gai! stood there quietly for a moment before Lee shouted to Neji from across the field, "NEJI!" He quickly blurred across to the stiff Hyuuga and leaned in really close. He lifted up his pinky and wiggled it, "she isn't your...you know?"
It was safe to say that Nejis' Hakke Rokujyuuyon Shou got a work out that day.
It was also safe to say that two ANBU guards were fairly entertained that day.
Up in the tree tops
"D-d-id you se-e her face!" howled a sparrow-masked guard, she was rocking back and forth on her heels as she clutched her stomach. The mission objective had already left, but the two ANBU guards were trying to compose themselves, lest Ahiru slay them if they get back giggling.
Well Suzume would be giggling.
Tanuki didn't do giggling.
He was a real man.
"Ahiru will flip her switch if she finds us giggling," gasped out Suzume, "don't even start with the 'I don't giggle' shit with me Tanuki."
Tanuki sighed through his quiet chuckles, he loved Suzume, but she was too much like her brother. Fukuro had come out first, but it was hard to tell who the elder was out of the twins. Both Suzume and Fukuro were complete knock-offs and were always goofing around.
It was nice when you were usually paired up with the ever stiff Ahiru.
Don't tell her I said that!
Honestly though, Tanuki didn't know what Hokage-sama was thinking when he put them together.
Tanuki and his squad were lucky enough to be around when the Yondaime was. They were initiated into ANBU during his reign as Hokage and they didn't dare question his judgement at the team he had chose to put them into.
Tanuki was a jounin ranked Iryo-nin who was trying to prove that medic-nins could be front liners. Tsunade-hime had made four rules that medic nin had to follow, unfortunately Tanuki had already broken two of the clauses.
Iryo ninja wa kesshite saizensen ni tatte wa naranai. No medic ninja shall ever stand on the front lines.
Tanuki wasn't technically breaking those rules as he was in the ANBU corps, and all ANBU specialised in assassination. Tsunade-himes' rules just happened to slip the Yondaimes' mind as he initiated Tanuki and his squad into assassination/last resort.
They mainly did assassinations on leaders of nukenin communities (yes surprisingly some nukenin banded together into small villages), those missions involved sneaking into nukenin base operations and killing the leader of the settlement. Then the second-in-charge, and the third, and really just whoever happened to stumble on them. Mainly it was Fukuros' fault if they were found.
Ahiru still wasn't happy after Fukuros' last screw up in Mizu no Kuni.
The last resort part was when their real skills came into play.
Tanuki, although being in ANBU, was a Iryo-nin that specialised in organ and mental damage. An odd combination but it worked. He was also very adept in using "chakra scrapnels," although he had altered them slightly for his benefit. He now wielded two large chakra "swords." He loved not having to carry heavy weapons...
Unlike Suzume.
Suzume was a very special girl. She had always loved weapons and at a young age she had found a weapon that had suited her fiery, smashy personality perfectly. Suzume had a ridiculously large Ararebo that sat on her back. The studded, Iron-shod club was over five times the size of the usual ararebo. And Suzume loved it.
Both Suzume and Fukuro were earth-styled nin and Suzume always worked tag-team with Fukuro, almost always taking defence due to her extensive knowledge of defensive doton jutsu.
Their teamwork was envied by many ANBU teams, it took years to get to their level of trust in one another, it did help that they were twins.
Fukuro, unlike his sister, had taken the standard ANBU tanto and learned its techniques well. He may not be as good with the sword as many of the other ANBU, but he made up for it with his impressive amount of knowledge in seals.
Fuinjutsu had not come easy to Fukuro, and he was certainly not a seal master, but it was more than enough to get by. All ANBU were expected to know basic sealing, explosive and expansion seals. Fukuro had been fascinated with the art and had continued his expansion on that area of expertise, he had never been gladder for his parents calligraphy lessons.
He was very good at offensive doton jutsus and just like his sister he was a joker. And a massive flirt. He never really got along with Ahiru since their personalities clashed a lot.
Ahiru was a strict, rule abiding kunoichi.'
She disliked going against the shinobi code and she dislike slackers, perverts, annoying people, perverts, funny people, wise guys, ignorant people and perverts.
How she despised perverts.
She did not understand why Hokage-sama had put in a team of such slackers, but after fourteen years of being together, she didn't mind so much.
Ahiru wasn't well renowned in the Elemental Nations. She wasn't a legend. Her stories weren't whispered around the fire. Her face wasn't plastered over neighbouring countries bingo books.
And that was why she was the best kunoichi of ANBU.
Ahiru specialised in absolutely, silent killings. Before she was put into her ANBU squad she was out everyday doing A-S rank assassinations.
And you'd be damn sure she was good at it.
Although Tanuki was the one who was the medic of the team, Ahiru was the person who knew over a hundred ways to kill you with a barely sharpened pencil. Her poisons were sightless, odourless and tasteless, as good as Tsunade-samas' medicines and poisons.
Despite her protests and denying, Ahiru fitted perfectly into her mish mash team of weirdos.
All in all, squad Shuryo tori was a very specialised squad.
Tanuki snapped out of his daydreaming as Suzume shoved him off the branch they were on. He grumbled as he fell but swung himself off a branch and used his chakra to sprint up the side of the tree. He flipped himself over Suzume and lightly tapped her on the head, "tag your it!" he laughed as Suzume squealed indignantly and tree hopped after him.
Ahiru could sense her other two teammates before they got there.
She also heard them before she saw them.
She didn't turn her gaze from her objective, even as Tanuki and Suzume came skidding to a stop on her tree branch. She ignored Fukuro chatting to the two in favour of watching Jasmine still trying to get herself out of the ground.
The girl was still stuck up to her chin in the ground and everything she had done hadn't changed her position at all.
She had tried and failed many things. Digging wouldn't work since her hands could barely twitch underground. She had tried using her mouth and biting into the ground, but she didn't have enough neck flexibility. (Although Fukuro did have a good laugh when she did manage to touch the earth, meaning she had rammed her head into it in frustration. She has had a nosebleed since then.)
She couldn't move her body and for the last ten minutes she had been sitting? There quietly in silence.
Ahiru couldn't help but wonder what the girl was thinking.
Jasmine P.O.V.
Well I'm screwed.
I'm going to die here because Anko has apparently left me and there's no way I can eat anything.
No eating?...
AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!
Yes.
I like my food.
Don't judge me.
After getting a bloody nose I decided to stop my futile attempts at getting out of this god-forsaken hole.
I sat? There quietly and just decided to think.
What to do about my chakra?
I mean I really wanted to try out accessing it again, but I couldn't help..but, uh, um..feel scared.
I usually never admitted that I was scared (either than zombies 'cos those things terrified me), but i actually felt fear every time I thought about using my chakra.
It had hurt only for a second, but that pain was ridiculous.
It was like someone had shoved getting burned, stabbed and crushed into one second of intense pain. Of course it had almost instantly turned into tickling (not like that's any better), but I still felt fear.
I mulled over attempting to use my chakra for a while. After five more minutes I decided to take the plunge, and use my chakra.
I closed my eyes and deepened my breathing, I dropped down deep into myself and searched for the spark I had felt before. It was a lot easier than last time, I felt the spark after only a minute of searching. I went to "grab" the spark but hesitated, couldIdoit?Wouldithurt?DidIdare?
I stopped all thoughts. Kami-dammit I was fucking Jasmine MoonDragon. A fucking kunoichi in training. A soon to be badass of Konoha. No measly fear was going to stop that!
"FUCK YOU FEAR!" I screamed out and I tugged at the spark.
Unlike last time I didn't rip at the spark, I pulled it slowly and warmth crept out from my stomach. I laughed loudly as the warmth swirled around me and tickled me with its bubbliness.
I opened my eyes to see everything looked so much brighter and clearer. Like someone had taken a cloth from my eyes and I could finally see what the world really looked like.
Everything tasted and smelled amazing. The fresh scent of trees and flowers washed over me, along with the feeling of sunshine and hot weather.
I closed my eyes and reveled in the feeling of warmth and security that emanated from my stomach. I sat there quietly before I noticed myself starting to feel tired.
Puzzled I searched into me and realised that I was still "holding" the chakra. Most of the time chakra flowed through you in a continuous stream, the smoothness depended on how good your control was. I was "holding" the chakra like I was...molding it! That was what it was called. Ninjas seek their chakra and then begin to mold it, using handseals to focus their chakra into techniques.
Although I wasn't actively using my chakra, I was moulding it and it was affecting my senses because of it. I knew shinobi could focus their chakra into their senses to amplify it, but I didn't realise that it helped even when you weren't actually aiming it at that specific area.
I hummed, contemplating of what to do with this chakra I held. I didn't exactly know what would happen if I just "let go," it could damage my chakra system. Humming again I decided it would be best to release it outwards, almost like a chakra pulse!
I slowly pushed my chakra outwards and grinned when I felt it stretch out like an elastic band. Just as I was figuring out how to let it dissolve I felt a slight twitch on the edges of the pulse. Frowning slightly I turned my awareness to the twitchy, humming feeling I was getting.
I tasted muted, almost like it was covered over, but it also tasted...like herbs?
It tasted like Blackbean, a plant I knew grew around the few bushlands back home. It was extremely poisonous and I knew of a few cases where children had eaten the plant because of its colourful buds.
It also tasted like...was that fire?
Okay it smelt like muted burnt herbs...what the hell?
I took another deep breath, holding out my chakra like this was quickly taking its toll, I could feel myself shaking and sweating slightly. I could feel a headache coming on as well.
I held the breath, but released it and my chakra in a burst. My chakra swept over...three? No four tastes? Two of them felt almost exactly the same. Before I could get a good reading on them they disappeared suddenly. Sighing I slowly let my chakra disappear and I slumped tiredly, chakra was hard and confusing.
Ahiru P.O.V.
"You morons!" I whispered screamed at my team. We had retreated further back into the tree line and had cloaked our chakra better, we had relaxed too much and our chakra signature had nearly given us away.
The girl Jasmine had been seemingly meditating, eventually I too had got bored of watching her do nothing and had been pulled into an argument with Suzume and Fukuro.
I had put the tickly feeling that plagued me into the corner of my mind, fully intent on winning this argument on the size of the onsen fences. (Fukuro had argued that it was too tall, surprisingly both Suzume had agreed on something for once.)
I had noticed though when there was a sudden pulse of chakra that had completely washed over me and my team. Unconsciously we had all drawn our chakra in close and disappeared further into the trees, only jounin level and up could sense us now.
The girl Jasmine was frowning and her chakra was stretched out in a large circumference, big enough to span into the trees. I didn't know whether or not the girl knew it, but she had natural talent for chakra sensing, only a little bit.
Unlike her I could sense almost anyone!
No I was not bragging, tch.
Anyway I was currently berating my team on lack of vigilance. I ignored the fact that I also, was not paying attention.
After chewing them out some more I turned back to Jasmine, who was slumped slightly and sweating.
Tch, civilian.
Lily P.O.V (finally!)
I crossed my arms and tried not to wince as Anko jumped onto another tree branch, forgetting that the smaller branches would hit me.
Bitch
I let out a grunt as Anko swung me up onto the next trunk and I slowly brushed myself off as I stood up.
I stared at my sensei as she rummaged around her little pouch behind her. Was it called a ninja pouch? How unoriginal.
She let out a triumphant exclamation and pulled out a small scroll. It had squiggly lines and Kanji on it so I assumed it was some sort of fuinjutsu product.
I watched her warily as she gestured me to sit down, I only did so after she sat down and dragged me down for "making her wait."
"Okay gaki here's the picture," she started in lecture mode and clasped the scroll gently.
Anko?
Gently?
What?
She grinned at my wary state and began to explain herself, "so first things first! Shut those creepy little eyes of yours!"
I winced at this, I had forgotten my eyes were blood red and considered a bad omen.
It explained why Neji was staring at me that whole time.
It didn't explain why Lee, Gai and Tenten hadn't flinched. Well Lee does have pretty weird eyes...Ugh, bug eyes...
"I don't wanna close my eyes," I said childishly. Anko rolled her eyes, "just fucking close your eyes!" I shook my head, "no you're gonna hit me!"
A hand cuffed my head not too gently, "I'll hit you even harder if you don't FUCKING CLOSE YOUR EYES!" Anko roared and I growled slightly, but closed my eyes obediently.
"Now search deep inside of yourself," Anko said boredly, although I didn't want to I obliged. I meditated like I was told and hummed slightly to indicate I was "inside" my mind.
"Now search for something you think is different and unique," said Anko in that monotone. "Are you reading off something?" I asked indignantly, "NO! SHUT UP!" I got another cuff to my head and wincing slightly I delved back into myself.
I drifted around aimlessly for a while before I suddenly bumped into something. I stared at the warm glow before I poked it. It wobbled slightly and I couldn't help but suddenly feel nostalgic, what the hell?
I pondered at the source of chakra I held inside, of course I knew it was chakra, what else would it be? I'm not dumb, but I expect Jasmine had no clue what it was when she first found it. I reckon she'd call it something stupid.
It felt like the adrenaline was really warm and it was spreading into the air.
Yep that sounded like Jasmine.
I tugged gently at it, felt it flow past me and it slowly circled around me. I didn't try and grab hold of it or anything, I just let it fill me up with its warmth.
I slowly opened my eyes and faced a suddenly brighter world. Unfortunately before I could study anything further I was rudely interrupted by Anko rapping me on the head.
"C'mon brat I sense you have chakra," she grinned slightly, "here's your first lesson as a kunoichi!"
She stood and I followed her quickly, she gestured to her foot and I watched in amazement as her foot began to glow a soft blue. Enchanted I didn't bother with the scornful snicker Anko let out, it was so pretty!
A click in my face made me pay attention again, "now I know you're incompetent in using your chakra in tree walking," stated Anko. "You're incompetent!" I shouted pointing at her, I got another cuff to the head.
"Shut up and listen!" Anko growled, "if you're good enough you can do tree hopping!" She pushed me towards the edge of the branch we were on, it was a long drop and I couldn't help but start to get my suspicions.
Anko began to talk again so I had to abandon my thought, "okay charge your feet with chakra," she chirped and once again I was suspicious.
I slowly pushed the tingly, warm feeling towards my feet and was presented with a small glow around my feet. I could actually feel my feet sticking, and at that moment I was glad of my small reserves.
I played around with my feet a bit before turning back to Anko, only to be met with a palm to the face.
I couldn't help but scream as I fell off the branch, but I stopped quickly since I was kind of expecting this from the sadistic bitch.
I charged my feet with chakra and quickly shoved them onto the tree trunk I was falling near. I had judged poorly though and my lack of aim made me spin out. I cartwheeled through the air before remembering to put my arms out to stabilise me like they do while skydiving.
I fumbled the branch with my feet before they suddenly stuck. My neck snapped back from the force of my stop and gasped as I almost did a back bend.
I was facing upwards towards the foliage, and towards Ankos' smug face.
I slowly rose my hand up in a one-fingered salute.
Her face satisfyingly twisted into anger, that satisfaction was short lived as she brandished the small scroll.
Confused I shrugged at her and got a smug look in return. She bit her finger and then swiped it dramatically. Time seemed to stop as I read her lips, 'run bitch run.'
Kunai descended towards me in a blaze of glory, I twisted myself and flipped onto another trunk and began to run up it.
Maybe it was the adrenaline, but my control didn't slip too much as I began to amazingly tree hop away from Anko and her scroll of death.
"THE RULES ARE!" screamed Anko from behind me, "YOU ARE TO GET TO TRAINING GROUND 11 WHERE YOUR SISTER IS WAITING!"
I flipped over a barrage of shuriken and kept running.
"YOU CAN LISTEN TO MY DIRECTIONS OR YOU DON'T! YOU CAN'T TOUCH THE GROUND. YOU CAN'T GO INTO POULATED AREAS. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY. YOU. CAN'T. STOP! LEST YOU WANT TO FACE MY PRECIOUS HERE!"
I wailed as I realised I would have to listen to her or I would be punished. I would most certainly go into populated areas if I guided myself, oh well.
Twelve minutes later...
Well I had managed to make it to the training grounds.
It had only taken going through a swamp? Like seriously it was a boggy, disgusting thing that Anko used a suiton jutsu on to explode onto me. I smelt horrific and probably looked just as bad.
She had also run me through some traps she had laid out before, exploding notes to disrupt my concentration and several ninja wires tripped me up.
At some point she had upgraded into summoning snakes to actually, fucking throw at me! Who the fuck throws snakes?! Apparently sadistic tokubetsu jounin! The RSPCA wouldn't be happy with her treatment of animals, even if they're creepy snakes.
I collapsed tiredly onto a rock in the middle of the field, only to immediately jump up as it yelped.
I turned to find only Jasmines' head sticking out of the ground glaring balefully at me. I couldn't help but laugh, "y-you're a f-f-uck-king rock!" I gasped out as I pointed at her.
She scowled at me, "shut up! You sat on me!"
I just laughed even harder.
"Laugh it up gakis," purred Anko from behind, "because this is where the real training starts!"
Lol it's done.
Yeah that was fairly interesting to see Ankos' training methods. Though I have to thank Firestripe49 for the headhunter technique Jasmine had used to her.
Those ANBU guards were a main part in this chapter for a reason. They will be involved in certain parts in the story and they'll occasionally just turn up so you can see Jasmine and Lily from another point of view.
Their squad name means hunting birds. I had wrote a bit of this chapter and when I came back to write more I had realised that Fukuro and Ahiru were both birds. I already knew Tanuki was going to be captain so I was like, 'hey let's just add another bird, it'll be cool.'
And thus squad hunting bird was born!
Yeah there's lots of stuff to build off from here. The next chapter will be one last one of this extremely long day and then it'll be finally over! I purposely made this day last for ages. Chapter 7 was called 'This is going to be a long day' for a reason!
Anyways done and over and out!
