"Get up Prussia! You can rest later." Germany said as he nudged his brother with his foot.

Prussia sat up groggily. He shook the sand out of his hair and looked around. His eyes rested on a a specific point, "How does one miss something like that less than a city block away?" he asked nonchalantly. For nothing could really surprise him at this point.

The object of Prussia's attention turned out to be the ancient ruins of a cliff dwelling. These ruins seemed to be built on top of each other. With ladders connecting the different levels. They were housed up on a cliff, with a narrow and very steep trail being it's only way up or down. These ruins were in surprisingly good shape, for the buildings were overall intact.

England looked up from his spell book, "You're just dense. There's nothing we can do to cure you."

France clicked his tongue, "Oh, Anglettere. No need to be so grumpy! Is it ze sexual tension? Have no fear, we will save you're love interest soon!"

England didn't dignify him with an answer. Instead, he threw a rock at France. France dodged without batting an eye, so the rock sailed past harmlessly to land at Japan's feet. Japan nudged the rock away with his foot, "Perhaps we should get going?..." he asked as politely as possible.

Russia nodded in agreement, "That is a wonderful idea. We will go to ruins now, da?"

As the nations approached the ruins, a sense of foreboding settled upon the group. The small square windows looked like gaping black holes. Who knows what secrets or dangers they might be harboring? When they got to the steep trail that lead up to the dwelling, the nations stopped as a group. Germany faced everyone, "Whatever happens..." he didn't continue.

Japan finished, "Don't let you're guard down, and stay together."

Germany nodded, "Right."

France started to walk up the trail, and looked back at the hesitating nations. He gestured toward the buildings, "I don't know about you. But I'm going to go save mon petit Mattieu."

Russia moved forward next, smiling as if nothing was wrong. He was followed by England, and Prussia. Germany hesitated for a split second. He steeled himself and moving forward determinedly. Japan lagged behind. He looked up at the dark windows. They looked like eyes. Those eyes stared at Japan, as if they were daring him to approach. "I have a bad feeling about this." Japan muttered to himself as he followed the others.

Yeah, I know it's been a while. I've just been busy with stuff. Mostly procrastination. But partly not knowing how to move this story along. Well, I'm back. So...yeah.

I understand the chapter is rather short, but have no fear. For the next one is being written as you read this.
