Chapter 6: Tank Spank

Six Days after first infection

"Anderson watch out! That things coming straight at you!" a female soldier shouted ejecting rounds at the Tank as it swung its arms at the man closest to it. Managing to duck the blow, the soldier retreated up the stairs with quick footing placing multiple rounds into the hulking mass who's arms connected with the wall instead shattering the brickwork and creating a small hole to the outside. It roared in anger as it attempted to charge up the stairs but its weight caused its decent to lessen giving the remaining trio time to climb the remaining flight of stairs.

Seer heard the woman shout out as he slowly descended the fifth floor stairs. More shots rang out echoing through the stairwell as he casually rounded the corner of the fourth floor and began his descent onto the third floor. Heavy footsteps echoed on the metal stairs as another roar of rage followed by the sound of an impact on the brickwork sounded from below. Anderson was still within the reach of the Tank as he worked his body furiously to hustle away from it. He barely had time to watch where we had been going when his foot caught the crook of the last step to the third floor and he fell onto his side. His fire-team stood facing his direction as they attempted to slow the tank which now reared up to smash Anderson to pieces.

"ANDERSON!" one of his team called out behind his masked helmet which muffled the sound slightly. Anderson took a long look at the muscle mass which was about to send him to oblivion and ceased his firing in a heart stopping moment. A small sigh emitted from him as he presumed his end was nigh until a sharp splatter of blood fell across his face which caused him to sputter and blink rapidly to clear his vision.

The arms of the large menace limply fell to its side as it gargled mortally. Seer stood in between the beast and the soldier with his arm through the monsters skull ending its rampage single handedly. Ejecting his arm from the mass, he delivered a kick to its side which sent it tumbling down the stairs causing the flight of stairs to collapse to the bottom of the stairwell. With a sharp crack he rolled his shoulder lightly turning to the soldiers, two of which still had their sights trained on him.

He scoffed lightly picking Anderson up with a single hand and propping him up on his feet. The blood on his arm rubbing off on the mans combat gear. He gave Anderson a look of annoyance and turned to incorporate the rest in what he had to say.

"You got two hours to leave this building and head wherever you were going. Any longer and you end up like the thing down there. While you're here, the fifth floor is off limits. If I catch you up there without a very perfect reason I will send you to the lobby v.i.a the express route." Seer said laying down the ground rules very quickly motioning to the stairwell window when he mentioned the 'Express' route.

"Just a minute here buddy! How the fuck did you kill that thing when 5.45 rounds couldent?! And why aren't we allowed on the fourth floor?! You some sort of sentient infected or some shit like that! Think you have the right to tell us what to do her-" The female started but was cut off by the man Seer had saved, the one named Anderson.

"Understood... you are infected.. aren't you.. mind telling me how you didnt end up like those things out there? Also.. we're here looking for people to rescue, you the only one alive in here." Anderson asked stating their mission quite plainly. Seer walked past Anderson and rudly shoved his way past the female soldier before walking up stairs.

"Depends how you classify living... In my classification, no I'm not. In your probable classification, I am. If you need longer than two hours wait on the fourth floor landing after the time is up, I'll come to check if you're still here. Any other floor and you're dead. Got it?" Seer shot a very hostile look at the trio of soldiers only one of which seemed slightly scared by his look.

"Understood. Your house, your rules." Anderson said standing in place.

"Good." Seer said walking off back upstairs.

Now there were five people alive in this building.. three of which he didn't trust.
