Hey guys! Nothing to say except I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh.
It was about 5 days since Shadi last came and I started seeing kids in my classes playing with these small game type things. Yep, it's the Digital Pet episode! I decided to get one for myself, thinking "why not?". I had gotten it in a dark blueish greenish thingy (I know, REALLY descriptive). It kind of looked like a mouse but with small ears. Like everyone else's except Joey's, abstractly looked like me. I named her "Mura", a twist on "Muris" (I think the word was originally male. Think though.) meaning "Mouse", in Latin if you can't guess. I was being uncreative and really wanted to use Latin when I named her.
Anyway, I knew we were officially into the episode when one day, between second and third period (I had been going and meeting up, got sick of waiting until lunch, and because so much stuff happened between periods and not lunch) I had heard Téa saying "Silly. Why didn't you switch it off?"
"It doesn't grow when it's switched off!" Joey exclaimed as I was walking over.
I chuckled a bit as I realized the hilarity that Joey was being called "Joey" instead of "Jonouchi" and his pet's name was Joe. So gonna poke at that.
I asked Yugi what was going on even though I already knew. And then I listened to their conversation some more after he told me.
"Well. I suppose that is it's cute point." Téa said, holding up her Digital Pet. Then Yugi checked out his and I, thinking "Why the heck not?" held up mine, and checked on little Mura, who was hungry.
Awww, poor little mousy. Who's a wittle hungry, huh?
You know, you don't have to do baby talk. Ami said. I am officially naming her Ami.
Do I look like I care? I asked her.
No, just sayin'.
By then, I had fed Mura and Yugi had just said "it's like it's your child."
Cuteness!
"Yeah!" Joey said. "Right now I'm devoting half my day to him!"
Tristan then came in fuming. I decided to ignore him and play a game with Muris.
I looked up from the game and tuned back in to hear Joey say "You mean you couldn't get one, right?"
"It's sold out everywhere."
And then I continued the game. Hate the Beautification speeches, worse then the friendship speeches. I tuned back in when Miho said good morning.
"M-Miho! Good morning!" Tristan stammered, blushing.
"What do you mean 'Good morning'? Second period is already over." Téa said.
"It's before lunch, so it's still morning." I commented
"Still, second period's over."
"Well, it's hard to take care of her." Miho said as she pulled out her Digital Pet. "She also slept late last night." Miho then held up hers which looked like, how do I describe it? It looked kind of like a poor job of 8-bit fire with some sort of afro hair with two parts curling to the side with a bow.
And then Tristan grew the heart eyes.
"So you're doing it too Miho?" Yugi asked.
"I definitely want to go to Australia."
"Australia?" Téa asked.
"Here. This." Miho said, holding up a poster.
Who just carries around a full-sized poster?
Apparently, Miho does.
"Didn't you know?" Miho asked. "It's this Sunday. A pet competition. And the prize is an Australia trip." She said, spinning around.
"I see. So that's why Joey's so desperate." Téa observed.
"Well, I couldn't go on a foreign trip without this device." Joey said, Tristan swaying.
"But, Miho is tired." Said, guess. "I wonder if there's someone who can raise my pet so that it can win the prize for me? And the Australia trip is for a pair."
I would count off the seconds until Tristan offered, but there were none.
He said, "Miho, leave it to me. I swear as a Beautification Member that I will make you win!"
Miho replied with an excited squeal and a "Really?!"
"Hey! What was all that before about humanity?" Joey said.
"I just realized it! There is no difference between reality and the digital world."
"Oh really?" Téa asked.
"I could think of a few." I said.
"Oh yea? Like what?" Tristan challenged.
"Cyber bullying. And the fact that technology is not at the point where you can actually go into a video game yet." I replied.
"Good luck, Tristan." Miho said, like Tristan was about to try to slay a dragon.
"Haiyama!" Yugi shouted as he went over to the kid. I actually felt kinda bad for Haiyama. He's most likely just a kid with a mental condition that got outta hand. Anyway, I followed Yugi over to him.
"Haiyama, aren't you going to play with Digital Pets?" Yugi asked.
"I don't have one." He replied.
"Haiyama, you there?" Kujirada asked while poking his head in.
"Kujirada." Haiyama acknowledged.
"Come here for a bit." Kujirada said while waving his hand in a very unattractive manner.
"Haiyama..." Yugi said as Haiyama went off with Kujirada.
Seeing the look on Yugi's face, I suggested we fallowed, seeing how Yugi did that anyway. As we walked, Yugi walked up against the wall like any other area was toxic waste.
"Yugi, we'll be fine as long as we be quiet." I said, trying to get him to stop to keep myself from bursting out laughing.
"You can never be to careful." He said, and continued walking against the wall while I tried to fight against another wave of laughter.
As we got to the appropriate door, Yugi stopped for a minute, then poked his head in the doorway, and I poked mine in above his, like how you see it in cartoons and stuff, and we both got a look at the exchange of money, although I pulled out almost immediately so Yugi wouldn't bump into me.
"Could that be a kickback?!" Yugi said, his voice high pitched and a scared look on his face.
"Haiyama," Yugi called quietly after he fallowed Kujirada out.
"Yugi." Haiyama acknowledged.
"Are you...um..."
"You two saw?" Haiyama said, surprised.
^Again with the 'you two' stuff.^ I thought.
"Yugi, Elisa, don't tell anyone!" Haiyama pleaded. "Don't! Don't!"
"But..."
"I don't want anyone to know." After Yugi and I nodded (me sighing beforehand) Haiyama said, "Thank you. Bye." and then left.
"Haiyama." Yugi said after him, not sure what for though, still trying to work it out.
"Haiyama!" Yugi called again after a minute. "Um, you know, if you ever want to talk, you can come to us anytime."
To which I added, "Yea, seriously."
"We're classmates after all."
"Thank you. You sure are nice, you guys." Haiyama said
"Not really..." Yugi replied.
Trying not to let my annoyance show at when Haiyama said "you guys", I said, "No problem."
"Oh right..." Yugi said, running up to Haiyama and taking out a digital pet. "Haiyama. I have plenty of these. You can have this one. Let's enter the contest together. Bye!" And then he ran off, me following.
-time skip, the day after the next after school-
"Man, what is that Tristan guy thinking?" Joey complained as we walked towards one of the Digital Pet shops.
"He hasn't been to school since that time."
"I look forward to that contest." Miho said, off topic.
We reached a shop and were met with a crowd of kids crowding the window.
"What could it be?" Yugi asked.
We walked up and saw the gold pet.
"A gold pet!" He exclaimed.
"What is that?" Téa asked.
"A limited edition Digital Pet, only a hundred were sold. They say you can raise an amazing pet!" Yugi explained.
"So you're saying that there's no way you can lose the contest?!" Joey asked excitedly.
"I want! I want!" Miho was exclaiming, a lot of exclaiming today, isn't there?
"I don't see the point." I said.
"What?! Don't see the point! What do you mean?!" Joey practically shouted in my face.
"Exactly what I said. If you've already got a pet, you should work hard on it to raise it. Think of it this way, the pets are like your children, right?"
"I guess."
"So, suppose you have a child. Then, you adopt another child from the orphanage and completely forget the first child. What happens to them? And also, back to the example being Digital Pets, you'd be starting over on the pet. You have to train it, teach it, and probably end up leaving the other one behind, miserable. Do you really want to see all that work, all that time and effort go to waste? Also, getting the gold pet doesn't automatically make you the winner. Think about all the other pets, gold and normal, to compete with."
"You'll see! With that gold pet I'm going to win this!"
"I'd like to see you try."
"Oh really, huh? How about we make a deal. Whoever's pet ranks the highest gets paid by the loser $20."
"Then I've already lost. I'm not entering the contest."
"What? Why not?" Yugi asked.
"Just don't care much about it. Besides, if I somehow managed to win, and I went to Australia, then I couldn't hang around with you guys."
Just then, as Téa was about to speak up, Kujirada pushed through the kids saying, "Move! Move!"
"Isn't it Kujirada?" Joey asked.
"The Gold Pet is mine!" Kujirada yelled as he broke through the window and stole the pet. The shop owner came out and Kujirada bribed him and left.
"That b*stard" Joey started. "He didn't even have money to buy lunch before. Just rice money."
"But it was said before. He use to be a good kid, then he suddenly went wild. He was forced to change schools." Téa said.
"I wonder what happened?" Miho wondered. Not obvious enough that she was wondering, so I must say wondered again. Wonderful. XD
-time skip-
I walked in when Téa was talking with Miho, but decided to watch Yugi play with Yu-2 (epic name by the way, call me a fangirl if you will. XD).
"How cute! It's eating!" Yugi exclaimed (there it is again!) as Téa and Miho walked over.
"I call him Yu-2" Yugi told them.
"Yu-2?" Téa asked.
"Is there an echo in here?" I asked, using one of my dad's old jokes. I really missed him, but I tried not to let it show. Téa just gave me a weird look, obviously not getting the joke.
"Mine is pretty good too." She said, getting out hers. "Here."
"Téa's is cute too." Miho said. Téa's looked like a peach with a bow and feet to me.
"Her name is Sumomo. I'm pretty proud of her."
"Wait a moment!" Joey yelled, popping up out of nowhere right behind me, effectively startling me, almost making me drop Mura, who I had just gotten out.
"Too bad, the championship is going to my pet, Joe." He said.
"LOL." I said.
"What?" He asked, I assumed for clarity on what the heck LOL meant, but I answered him, "Dude, your name is Joey and you named your pet Joe. That's all."
"It's not cute." Miho complained.
"It looks like a derpy strawberry." I commented.
"The only resemblance is that they're both cheeky." Téa said.
"Shut up!" Joey commanded. "Mind if we do a data exchange?"
"Yu-2 is kind of timid, so it would be nice to have Joe's wild characteristic and Mura's heart, if you don't mind Elisa." I blinked, surprised that I was being put into this part. But I quickly recovered enough to say "Sure."
"Alright then, link up!" And then they linked. I don't feel like retelling what happened so I'm just gonna skip it.
Next I had Mura link up with Yu-2. She went over and kinda just sat with Yu-2 for a second, kissed where I'm assuming his cheek would be, and walked off.
"Awww. How cute!" I exclaimed smiling. I looked over at Yugi and saw that he was blushing, and smiled even more.
Then Joey and I linked up, which resulted in Mura just scared on one side of the screen. Yea, REALLY brave Mura...
Anyway, after that Kujirada announced himself by saying "He is taking it?"
"Kujirada!" Yugi exclaimed (I should REALLY find a synonym for that word...).
"The contest winner is definitely going to be me."
"Kujirada, don't get a big head just cause you got a Gold Pet!" Joey defied. "There's no way someone like you could raise one!"
"Oh, really? This is my ultimate pet! He's DevilMaster!"
"He looks like he has a lousy personality." Téa commented.
"No way, that's yours?!"
"If you pay money, you can learn plenty of secrets."
"Money again?!"
At that point, Kujirada snatched Sumomo and put the two Digital Pets together in a Data Exchange saying "And his strength ain't just for show."
"Go, DevilMaster!" And DevilMaster went and ate Sumomo.
"My Sumomo!" Téa yelled.
"DevilMaster grows by eating other Digital Pets."
Before Joey could say anything, I said "Well I think DevilMaster should go die in a hole." Yea, not a very wise idea, because after I said that, Kujirada asked, "Well maybe you'd like to see how well your pathetic Pet stacks up against my Ultimate, hmmm?"
"NO! I WON'T LET YOU!" I shouted, a bit louder than necessary, I quickly hooked my Index finger through the keychain loop, held onto Mura with the same hand, and ran. I was a bit slow because Kujirada grabbed onto the back of my shirt, lifted me up off the ground, and tried to break my grip.
This went on for about a minute (Kujirada had almost succeeded) when I yelled, "Darnit Tristan! Where are you already!" And then he broke my grip, not even bothering with getting my finger out of the ring, he linked our pets up.
DevilMaster went onto my screen, and slowly stalked toward a shaking Mura. I tried to think quickly about what I could do, but my mind was in an ambush of incomplete thoughts and I couldn't focus enough. Finally, DevilMaster made it to the other side of the screen, and I heard the death noise of death when Mura was eaten.
"MURAAAAAA!" I cried out, and utterly defeated, I sank to the floor in sadness and started crying. I continued to cry as Joey cursed Kujirada out, and as Joe got eaten, and up until Tristan came in. I didn't know how attached I got to Mura, or that I could GET that attached to a thing, that it would make my cry. While Ichigo and DevilMaster were dueling it out, Yugi bent down to me and asked "Hey, you alright?"
"Yea," I replied, sniffing. "Just didn't know I was so attached to Mura."
Yugi then asked the question I was hoping no one would ask and asked "How did you know Tristan was going to come in."
"Tell ya later, k?"
"No. I want to know now."
"Um," I thought for a second, then lied. "lucky guess."
By the look on Yugi's face, I think he didn't believe me. But, luckily for me, he just left the matter alone.
I sat on the ground for a minute, thinking, when I remembered that Tristan had arrived.
"He's truly the Beautification manager!" Tristan said as I tuned back in.
Crap! Missed the broom thing too! I thought, looking over at the linked Digital Pet devices.
That's what you get when you sit on the ground moping. Ami commented.
Yea, don't remind me.
-Time Skip-
I was walking back to the Game Shop with Yugi who was, I'm assuming, thinking about Haiyama at the time because I saw Kujirada walk past carrying Miho.
"What was that?" Yugi asked, then followed.
We rushed into the warehouse to find the usual scene, Tristan facing Haiyama (turning to face us as we came in), Kujirada whipped and on the ground, Miho hung up on one wall, and Haiyama across the room who just cracked his whip.
"Stop it!" Yugi yelled.
"Yugi, Elisa? Why are you guys here?" Tristan asked.
"We saw Kujirada running away. We would've been here sooner but I tripped." I answered. (I wonder why Yugi wasn't there sooner in the anime, probably cause of his short legs, but he was able to keep up with me fine.)
"I was worried about Haiyama. So we followed Kujirada." Yugi said. "But this is how it is. Haiyama, this is wrong!"
"You saw me during feeding time didn't you?" He asked rhetorically. "Oh, right, this childish game..." Holding up the Digital Pet Yugi gave him, he tossed it next to Kujirada saying, "let me return it to you."
"Haiyama!" Yugi yelled as he (for some reason) ran up to Haiyama.
As Yugi was running, and as Haiyama was getting ready to whip Yugi yelling "You shouldn't have been looking around.", I ran in front of Yugi planning to block the whip with my arm, but with my bad timing, aiming, and luck, it slapped across my face sending me flying to the right and crashing into a bunch of boxes, landing flat on my back and shoving a bunch of boxes against the wall, making their contents press into my back.
"Gaah!" I yelled, now struggling not to cry.
"Elisa!" Yugi yelled.
"Hmm, so hard to find good pets these days..." Haiyama said, and I started to wonder a bit at what he was thinking, when I realized it was getting harder to stay focused, and harder to stay conscious.
Dangit! Why the heck do I get knocked out so much?! I thought
A, this is what, the third time, including at SpringFest? B, you took a whip to the face, that's something that could probably knock people out. And C, pretty sure Yugi gets knocked out too. Ami said.
Help me stay conscious? I asked.
Um, how? She asked in return
I, don't, know. I, can't, think, straight. I said, fading out of consciousness, I was barely aware of someone shaking me before I completely blacked out.
-time skip-
I woke up in my bed at the Game Shop.
"Huh? What happened?" I asked the empty room before me.
You got whipped and missed the rest of the "episode" Ami said. (I figured the word episode would be in quotes.)
"Really?" I asked, sighing afterwards.
Hey, you still remember it, don't you?
"Yea but," I started, then realized I could think it.
Yea, but I still wanted to see it. I thought.
Nothing was different, trust me.
Wait, did you take over?
Don't know how. But I still saw.
I would have asked further, but then Yugi came in.
"Oh good, you're awake. I was starting to get worried." He said.
"I'm fine, just a little beat up." I said.
"Okay, just coming to see if you were awake before I went to bed. Night." He said as he left.
I looked over at the clock on the bedside table and saw that it was 11:30.
He must have been worried. I thought, smiling.
I smell a love interest. Ami said jokingly.
Oh shut up. He's supposed to like Téa.
Don't be too sure. A lot has changed already.
Fine. I'll at least consider it. Night.
Night.
Hey guys! Sorry it took so long to get this out, but I already explained in the last chapter/update. I'll try to get at least one more of these out before Christmas break. Not making promises though. Happy Thanksgiving! Bye!
