"Butterfly Effect"
Chapter Seven:
Kuroko sighed as he let his feet drag him wherever they would take him. Not like he cared anymore.
I miss you, Sei-kun.
"Sei-kun, where are you?"
"I'm right here, you idiot." A voice he wanted to hear so badly replied.
He raised his head and before he could utter a word, he was enveloped within Akashi's warm arms. "I'm not dreaming, am I?" He mumbled.
"Of course not." Akashi responded and hugged him tighter. "I missed you."
Not able to contain his emotion, Kuroko started to silently cry on the red-head's chest. "Sei-kun…"
The Emperor closed his eyes and absorbed the warmth and sweetness he hadn't felt for quite a long time. He missed everything about Kuroko. His smell. His lips. His eyes. His expressions. His weirdness. His smile. His laugh. He missed him. So badly he could almost cry. But he wouldn't. Not in a place like this.
"Next time you're leaving, please do tell me because I hate surprises." Kuroko reminded and clutched his partner's cloth. "I missed you…"
What Akashi wasn't expecting was when the teal-head tiptoed and kissed his forehead. "What—"
"I missed you, Sei-kun…" Kuroko murmured.
Seeing the phantom player's sweet and welcoming smile, all of Akashi's exhaustion and stress faded away…and that's why his tears betrayed him too.
Trying to cover his tears and sobs, Akashi hugged Kuroko tight and whispered, "Tetsuya, the only person who can make me cry like this…Oh, how I missed you…"
"You're becoming out of character." Kuroko complained and pushed Akashi's face away from him. "Oh. By the way, why are you here?"
"Breathing fresh air. I've been stuck in the office for days now. I need to live my life too." Akashi responded and walked two steps forward and away from the teal-head. "And you?"
"Looking for any place to buy some milk shake."
"Seriously?"
He blinked. "What?"
Akashi sighed. "If you're going to choose between milk shakes, me and your friends. Whom or which will you pick?"
"Isn't it obvious?" He mumbled.
"Isn't what obvious?"
"What my answer will be." Kuroko explained.
"Me?"
"Nope. Milk shake." He bluntly corrected. "It has always been milk shake."
"Yeah? Then who saved your life three days ago? Milk shake?"
"Actually there was a time when milk shake saved my life."
"Since when did a milk shake have a life to save yours?" Akashi demanded and turned.
Kuroko looked serious. Damn, he's serious? "Milk shakes will never be alive. If one milk shake will ever turn alive, I will surely visit the place where it lives and marry it."
"Are you serious?" Akashi mumbled in shock.
"Do I look serious?" Kuroko queried.
"You do."
"Then, I am." The teal-head muttered.
Akashi's eyebrows started to twitch. "Wait a minute. Give me some moment to think how to kill you."
"Why will you kill me?"
"Because…" The red-head started. Shit, I got nothing.
"Because?" Kuroko prompted.
"Nevermind." Akashi sighed. "And no. You're not going to marry a freaking milk shake."
The phantom player's eyes brightened. "Does that mean there's really a living milk shake?"
"What? No!"
This time, Kuroko's eyes turned sad. "But you said I can't marry a freaking milk shake."
"That's because you really can't marry a freaking milk shake! It doesn't exist!" Akashi snapped.
"You just ruined my day, Sei-kun. Lemme hand-chop you to avenge my milk shake."
"No." Akashi sighed. "Where did this conversation come from?"
Silence was the other's answer.
"Tetsuya?"
"You shouldn't have ended it."
The red-head blinked. "Ended what?"
"The bubbly conversation we were having."
"We can talk anytime."
We can't.
"My time here in Europe's limited. We will go back after three more days." Kuroko grunted. "And you just ruined a bubbly conversation. Poor milk shake. I will go with smoothies then."
"What? You mean milk shake is not your only other lover?" Akashi gasped in bewilderment.
"No, I also have smoothies. There's vanilla smoothie, chocolate smoothie, strawberry smoothie and lemon smoothie. They're all so kind to me so I fell in love with all of them." Kuroko elaborated.
"You're still serious?" The 'Emperor' murmured.
The sixth man nodded. "Still am."
"Tell me those are your only lovers."
"No, actually, there's also my vanilla lollipop, vanilla pocky, white chocolate coated almonds, vanilla jawbreaker. And—"
Akashi covered the other's mouth. "I get it, I get it." He grumbled then started laughing. He was laughing so hard his jaw started hurting and his eyes started tearing up. "Damn, my stomach hurts…" He complained and continued laughing.
While Kuroko just stared at him. His eyes might not portray it, but he was glad he had seen the red-head even for the last time. And he was even successful on making Akashi laugh, which was very rare. Seeing the latter laughing was a happening that only happened once in a red and blue striped moon. Yes, there's such a thing. Don't question me. It was Akashi who told me so. No, I'm not angry! I'm just explaining! Ehem, anyway…
Kuroko was staring and Akashi was laughing for almost three minutes that some people were already staring at them.
Both just went back to reality when the former's phone started vibrating in his pocket.
He blinked and took it out. Pressing 'Answer', he talked, "Hello?"
"TETSU!" Ogiwara shouted from the other line.
"WHAT IS IT?" He shouted back in revenge.
"Waaah! That was loud!" The other complained.
"You were the one who started it." He grunted and looked at the surprised Akashi before him. Looks like he really shouted that loud because almost everyone was looking at him. Yes, him. Not at anything else.
"Hmph! You meanie. Oh, by the way, where are you?"
"In a place."
"What place?"
"Here on Earth."
He was sure Akashi almost started chuckling again.
"You're become meaner."
"I know. Where are the others? Don't answer here on Earth because you'll sound like you're copying me."
"I hate you."
"I hate you too. Where are the others?"
Ogiwara sighed. "Uh, our senpais are here with me. Our guards are in their own rooms. And, uh, the couples are making out in their own special places…"
"Oh…" He mumbled and smiled. "Let them. It's not new to me."
"Well, it is to some of us."
"Not my fault you're all still innocent. Gonna hang up or else Sei-kun will break my phone."
He made sure Akashi heard that.
"He's there with you?"
"Yes. He is. I will be home after awhile. Don't worry. Bye." Before the dark-head could even protest, he, himself, cut off the call. "It's done. No need to glare at my phone."
"I wasn't glaring." Akashi defended.
"Oh, alright. You weren't." He unbelievingly responded. "I think they're worrying about me now especially that I just snuck out. I probably should go now." He bade and bowed. "I'll see you again, don't worry."
Kuroko Tetsuya, you liar.
He was about to leave when Akashi grabbed his hand. "Sei—"
"Don't leave yet."
"But…"
Akashi raised his head and stared at Kuroko with strict eyes. "Don't leave yet."
Taking no heed to the red-head's eyes, he mumbled, "Why?"
"Because…I still want you beside me. Is that bad?" Akashi demanded and that's when Kuroko realized that the former was just lonely. So lonely.
He turned and squeezed Akashi's hand. "Fine. I'll stay."
With that, he accompanied the red-head at wherever he wanted to go to. He was trying to smile, but deep within him, he wanted to cry.
Cry and say…goodbye.
~LFMH021~
"Sei-kun?"
"Yeah?"
"When will you go back in Japan?"
Akashi paused before smirking. "I'll be done shortly. Don't worry."
"Are you sure?"
He nodded. 'I'll be by your side after few more days."
After hearing the red-head's answer, all he could think was: Sei-kun, you liar.
Same charges repel.
They're both liars.
So they needed to repel. They must repel. Or…to be precise, Kuroko needed to repel away from Akashi.
When he could almost hear everyone's snored from the room where he and Ogiwara was placed into, he sat up and opened his phone. He took out a card out of his pants' pocket and gulped.
He dialed it and whispered, "Tomorrow, eight in the morning. In front of our villa. Pick me –uh, us—up."
"So, you've made your decision."
He sighed. "Not like I have any other choice."
"I'll see you and Ogiwara tomorrow then."
And then the other party hung up, leaving him staring at his phone.
"You already answered him?" Ogiwara, who was just pretending to be asleep the whole time, murmured as he rolled to the right side to face his old best friend.
Kuroko nodded in the darkness. "I'll just tell my brother to come after me here, to help me out. I'm sure he wouldn't mind that much."
"I'll be with you." The dark-head encouraged.
"Are you sure about that?"
"Never been sure in life." Ogiwara mumbled and grinned. "Tomorrow at eight then."
He bitterly smiled. "Yes, tomorrow at eight."
A/N: And this is what happens when I'm in a rush and still doesn't feel that better after having a cold for two days.
It's just a simple chapter. Hehehehe!

Kagami: Or I'll die!
Kise: Here's the sneak peek, ssu!
SNEAK PEEK:
Akashi blinked when his luggage was thrown in front of him. "Your luggage." Said one of Hatori's guard.
"I can see that. Why is it here?"
"Leave."
"What?" He mumbled in confusion.
"Your work's done here. Go back to Japan with your friends in the Kuroko's villa. Don't ever come back." Added the guard and opened the gate.
"I'm not really sure what you're talking about. My work's not—"
"Kuroko Tetsuya has paid the price."
He blinked. "What?"
"He's staying here instead of you. Great deal, huh?"
