It was the middle of the night and Caroline had joined Klaus and the Salvatore in their mission to rescue Veronica. Lilly had already appeared to them, saying that Veronica was fine for now and that she was winning over a hot guy in the cell next to her. That she'd promised him to get him out as well when they rescued her. When she spoke his name, Damon was shocked and guilt over took him but he shook it out. He'd deal with everything after Veronica and Enzo were free.

"Ask Lilly to go back to Veronica and tell her that we're coming and that Enzo is getting out. I won't fail him twice. He has my word." Damon said and Kol nodded, letting him know that Lilly got his message.

Their plan was to overpower Doctor Wes Maxfield as he left his office and kill him, along with his nephew so they could enter the building everything took place in, the building that belonged to their family.

"Are we sure they're the last of their family?" Elijah asked.

"Yes. I've killed the others. It was my big revenge plan. Kill every member of their family except for one. Let the last one grow into a family and kill them all, leaving only one. All over again, until I've forgotten the pain they put me through." Damon explained.

"It's a good plan. I approve." Klaus nodded.

It didn't take them long to kill the man and his nephew. Now all they had to do was break in the building, find Veronica and Enzo and set the entire building on fire, making sure to destroy everything this secret society used for their experiments.

"I'll go with Rebekah to Doctor Maxfield's office and make sure it's all destroyed as well." Caroline suggested.

"Good idea. Take the bodies and set them up in there." Klaus nodded and Rebekah grabbed a lighter and followed Caroline to the place Damon had indicated.

Stefan, Damon, Klaus, Kol and Elijah broke in the building and Klaus could feel it, his daughter was near. They followed Damon's lead until they arrived in a dark room.

"Veronica!" Klaus yelled.

"Daddy! I'm here." Veronica yelled back.

"Veronica! Are you okay?" he asked.

"I am." She nodded.

"Why didn't the alarm go off?" Enzo asked.

"We cut the electricity from the building." Damon said as he broke open his old friend's cell.

"Damon." Enzo said, between rage and happiness.

"I swear I thought you were dead… Not being able to break you out… I had to turn my emotions off to go on… I'm so sorry…" Damon tried to explain.

"We'll have time to talk about this later. Now we need to leave before one of them comes back." Enzo declared.

"Nobody is coming back. It's time we put an end to this thing." Stefan declared.

"How do you suppose we do that, mate?" Klaus asked him.

"I know. Someone needs to grab the computers used in this lab, along with Doctor Maxfield's computer. We'll be able to get all the information we need from them." Veronica suggested and they all nodded.

"I'll call Rebekah and warn her to take the computer before she burns his office, we meet at the car." Stefan said before he rushed off.

They all followed Damon and Enzo through the corridors, Veronica safely carried by her father who refused to let her out of his arms, he needed to feel that she was safe. They eventually arrived in a lab and Elijah unplugged the computer while Kol, Damon and Enzo grabbed the files they could find, ending up with several boxes of archives on top of the computer and the several back drives they found in the drawers.

Once everything was safely in the car, they went back inside and poured alcohol all over the place. Damon went to open the gas pipes and they made sure the fire would spread everywhere in the building before setting it on fire and leaving as fast as they could.

They all went in the Mickealson house and while Veronica and Enzo showered and changed, they started looking through the computers and files, finding slowly the names and addresses of all the members of the Augustine Society.

"Looks like Elena's father was a member." Damon said as he gave the file to Stefan.

"I don't think she knows this about her father. I'll show it to her tomorrow." Stefan nodded.

"How are we going to deal with them?" Enzo asked as he entered the room, shortly before Veronica who went to sit by her father's side.

"We could simply compel them to forget about vampires and the Augustine society, to end over their files and everything they have about it…" Veronica suggested.

"Can't we just kill them all?" Enzo asked.

"No! There's no way we're going to kill all of those people, it would be mass murder!" Veronica exclaimed.

"As the lady wishes." Enzo nodded, feeling like he couldn't make Veronica mad, he owed his life and his freedom to her.

"We should team up. Teams of two. We get the members one by one, lock them up in their houses along with their entire family. Keep them locked up as long as it takes for the vervain to be out of their system if they have some. Compel them to tell us everything they know, everyone they shared it with and to give us everything they have concerning the Augustine. Then we compel them and their entire families to forget it all." Elijah decided.

"Okay, not such a bad idea." Veronica nodded.

"I'll team up with Enzo." Damon declared, knowing that this was the perfect opportunity to resolve the issues they still had.

"Stefan and I will be another team." Kol declared.

"I guess I'm teaming up with Elijah." Rebekah guessed as her big brother nodded.

"What about Me and dad? Are we a team or are you teaming up with Caroline?" She asked his father.

"Neither. You and Caroline will remain safely here. My hybrids will take the other people. I'll stay here to relay information if need be and watch over my daughter. Apparently keeping you safe is a full time job." Klaus declared.

"Fine. I guess you'll have to cook dinner for me another time Damon." She smiled.

"We have all the time in the world." Damon replied, knowing that no matter how long it took, he would have his happy ending with Veronica, right now, he needed to salvage his friendship with Enzo.

Klaus had never thought he'd be a good father.

He always thought being changed in a hybrid was for the best because, given the father he had had, he wouldn't have been able to be a good one but as he looked at his daughter, sleeping peacefully in her bed as he hugged her, keeping his promise to stay with her because she didn't feel safe, he knew that he had finally gotten it right.

He had his family, she had brought them all together and he knew that whatever life threw at them, they'd stand strong against it and solve it all. Because of her, because of his daughter, Veronica Mickealson.

I know the end came fast but I just didn't have inspiration for more. I hope you still liked it. I might pick it up later if I get more ideas but for now it's over.
