A/N: Soooo, i know it took me forever to update this, and i am very very sorry! I was on vacation for 2 months, and when i came back, school started and it's my senior year, so it started off like hell already. I've had a lot of homework and projects and i cant even .. ugh.. anyway. I'm glad i could find some time this weekend and finish it. BUT i also don't have a beta anymore, so this chapter might be a little different as it doesnt have my ex-beta's wonderful ideas and im sorry if you bump into spelling mistakes or grammatical errors. Its all just me this time. Well, before i drive you even more crazy with my nonsense, enjoy this chapter!

Beca Mitchell had never fallen in love. She always thought that it was bullshit to put your heart into something that could walk away from you. If you give your heart to a person, they can take it, crush it and leave. She'd rather put her heart into something that didn't have a mind of its own.. Music.

She stayed away from everything that involved love and romance. Her world revolved around mixing different songs into one. DJ'ing was her dream. Music was her one true love. Until she found out about her heart condition. She had to give up the one thing that made her happy. DJ'ing involved drinking, partying and breathing the smoke of other people's cigarettes; which wasn't healthy for her.

Beca found it ironic. All this time, she ran away from love to prevent heartbreak, but life still found a way to crush her heart. Even worse than love ever could.

She had to give up DJ'ing, but never gave up making music. Music was her only escape from everything. Even though she couldn't play it for other people anymore, it still kept her happy. She thought that a person could never take its place. Nobody could make her feel more alive than music could. That wasn't possible.

Then there she was knocking at the door of her very first love and smiling big as it opens and reveals a gorgeous redhead smiling back at her.

Beca admired the woman who managed to take a bigger place in her heart than music ever had. The tight green dress hugged her body up to her hips perfectly, where it starts to loosen and swing just above her knees. A small brown belt around her middle, finishing it with light brown wedges.

Chloe's smile fell as a frown took over. She tilted her head and observed the other woman's clothes. Timberland shoes, tight black jeans, white tank top and a chestnut color leather jacket.

The redhead covered her face in embarrassment. "I totally overdressed."

"Oh no, you're perfect!" Beca assured her quickly. She looked down and gestured towards herself. "I think that I'm kind of underdressed."

Chloe smiled lightly. "You would even look great in a trash bag."

"Very well then." The brunette blushed as she held out her hand. "Ready for a whole day with me?"

"A whole day?" The taller woman quirked an eyebrow. "It's 6 o'clock. Now I only get to spend a few hours with you." She complained as she took the other woman's hand into hers and closed the door with the other.

"I'm sorry about that. I needed the time to arrange everything." the brunette smirked as she guided the woman towards the car she borrowed from Jesse. She opened the door and waited for Chloe to get in before walking around the car and take a seat on the driver's side.

"Where are you taking me?" Chloe questioned, looking out of the window as they drove through the city.

"It's a surprise." Beca responded, taking her eyes off the road to look at the redhead for a moment. "I hope you'll love it."

Chloe turned away from the window and smiled at the brunette. "I love everything with you."

….

Beca pulled over in front of a huge building. After parking her car, she quickly walked over to Chloe's side to open the door for her. As Chloe got out of the car, she frowned at the building that wasn't finished and didn't look like it was touched for years.

"What's this scary place?" The redhead gestured at the building, rather confused. "Are you going to murder me here?"

Beca sniffed and took a few steps forward. "It was going to be a studio actually. Jesse's was going to surprise me." She moved the metal fence surrounding the empty building. "But as soon as he heard the news a few years ago, he had to cancel the project." Beca turned to Chloe and smiled at her sympathetic expression. "It's okay. Come with me." She reached out her hand for Chloe to take.

As the redhead took the other woman's hand, her eyes shifted at a sign in front of the building. "Beca, are we even allowed to be here? It says do not enter."

The brunette laughed and led the woman towards the stairs on the outside of the building. "Not really." They stopped in front of the stairs and Beca let out a breath. "Okay, close your eyes."

"You really are going to kill me." Chloe winced.

"Of course. I'll make it fast though." She squinched her eyes with a smile, earning herself a slap on her arm. When the older woman closed her eyes, she guided her up the stairs until they reached the rooftop. She took few more steps and stopped. "You can open your eyes now."

"No, I don't want to see how you're going to kill me. Just do it." Chloe kept her eyes closed with a smile playing on her lips.

"Oh shut up." Beca nudged her playfully.

Chloe's eyes widened as soon as she opened them. "This is so cute. Did you do this?" she walked towards a snow white table surrounded by red roses in the shape of a heart. There were two red candles on the table covered with rose petals. The huge wall behind the table had a white cloth with lights that flickered, making it look like a waterfall.

"I had a little help." Beca walked over to a CD-player and pressed play. "Here are the mixes I made for you." She winked as she walked back to the table to hold the chair for Chloe to sit.

"I didn't know you could be so romantic." Chloe joked as she listened to a slow mix of 'Titanium'.

"Enjoy it while you can, because I only promised you one day of it." The brunette winked as she took a seat herself.

"That's not fair. You were too late."

"I needed to be late to do all this." Beca gestured around her.

"I told you, I love everything with you." The redhead smiled. "I would've been happy if we were sitting on top of a dumping ground, as long as I'm with you."

"I'm not sure if I should be happy or sad because everything I did was a waste." Beca raised her eyebrows.

"No, no. Don't take it wrong. I love it, really. It's not a waste." Chloe glanced down at the table and noticed the empty plates. "So, what are we going to eat?"

"Right." Beca remembered she had told Jesse to leave the food on the first floor, fifteen minutes after she went to pick up Chloe so it wouldn't get cold. "One second." She got up and ran down the stairs. A few minutes later, she came back with a tray and two plates on it. She put one of the plates in front of Chloe before taking one for herself.

"Stuffed mushrooms with grilled chicken? That's my favourite!" Chloe said happily. "How did you kn- oh never mind." She cut herself off as she remembered how Beca had read everything about her in Aubrey's diary.

Time had passed and the two women were enjoying themselves. They had finished their dinner and got up from the table to sit on a blanket in the corner of the roof, watching the city's beautiful lights.

"It's already past 11." Chloe let out a sigh and leaned her head against Beca's shoulder. "Why can't we just stop the time?"

"Because we would miss what's yet to come."

"That's deep." Chloe chuckled.

"What are you two doing here?"

Both women turned their heads as they heard a voice behind them. They covered their eyes from the flashlight that was pointed in their direction.

"You're not supposed to be here." The man said, getting closer.

"Fuck, it's a guard." Beca jumped and helped Chloe up as well. "We need to get out of here." She said as she started running towards the emergency stairs at the other side of the building.

"Hey!" the guard yelled after them. "Come back here!"

The two women ran down the stairs and across the street, until they had lost sight of the guard. They hid in an alley and leaned against the wall, trying to catch their breaths.

"That was fun." Beca laughed.

"No, the CD you made for me is still there." Chloe pouted.

"Don't worry, I'll make you a new one."

"So, you spent all day arranging that?" Chloe asked. "We can't go back up there."

Beca smiled and moved to peek around the corner. "That's okay, we were supposed to be leaving anyway."

"What do you mean?" Chloe furrowed her eyebrows.

Beca turned to the redhead and had that mischievous smile on her face again. "You'll see. But first, we're going to need to get the car."

"How?" Chloe moved over to Beca's side. "The guard must still be around there."

"We'll just hide behind everything on our way." Beca said as she ran over to a car and ducked down behind it with Chloe following her soon after.

Not much later, Beca had finally reached the car and got in quickly. Chloe looked up and thought about running upstairs to get the CD, but she changed her mind as soon as she saw a light moving on the rooftop. She got in the car and sighed.

…..

A few minutes later, Beca stopped her car in front of a huge building.

"What are we doing here?" Chloe frowned as they got out of the car.

"It's a surprise." Beca took out her phone and started texting someone.

Not much later, Stacie got out of the door and greeted both women.

"Nice to see you both so happy." The tall brunette smiled. "Come with me."

She led the two women inside and into an elevator. She pressed the last number and the doors closed. "How was your evening?"

"It was wonderful." Chloe assured the brunette. "I think I can call this the best day of my life." She smiled.

"Not yet." Beca winked at the redhead before turning to Stacie with raised eyebrows. The taller brunette leaned over and whispered something in her ear. "Perfect, thanks." Beca answered, leaving Chloe curious about whatever was going on.

"So, I guess this is where you guys are going to kill me." Chloe joked.

"You really want me to kill you, don't you?" Beca shook her head as the redhead shrugged and pursed her lips.

The elevator made a noise, letting them know they've reached their destination. The doors opened and they walked out towards a black door at the end of the hall. Stacie took out her keys and unlocked it, opening the door for the other two women.

"Enjoy the rest of your night." Stacie said.

"You're not coming?" Chloe asked.

The tall brunette smiled. "I'm only here to unlock the door. Only people that live here are allowed to get on the terrace, and I live here, so…"

"But we don't. So, that'll be another crime today."

Beca chuckled at the redhead's words. "At least we won't be chased away by a guard this time." She then turned to Stacie. "Thanks again."

"You're welcome, weird little friend of mine." She gestured towards the stairs behind the door. "The other door is not locked, so go ahead."

"Alright." Beca said as she grabbed Chloe's hand and started to walk up the stairs.

Once on the terrace, Chloe gasped at how high they were. They could almost see the whole city from up there. The honking cars, the lights from clubs and other buildings, the park.. Everything. There was a light breeze in the air, but cold enough to make Chloe shiver and get closer to Beca who quickly took off her jacket and threw it around the redhead's shoulders.

"Thanks." Chloe smiled at the brunette. "This is so beautiful."

"It is." Beca put an arm around the other woman. She checked her watch a few times until it showed 11:59PM. "I'm gonna need you to look right there in 30 seconds." She pointed towards an area with a lot of houses.

Chloe looked at the houses and wondered what exactly she was supposed to see. "What is g…"

The brunette cut her off. "Just watch.." She said as she started counting down. "15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10.."

Suddenly, the lights from all the houses turned off at once.

"What's happening?" Chloe frowned, getting more curious every second.

"9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3.." Beca continued. "2, 1 and watch."

A few lights started to turn on again. Chloe squinched her eyes to make out what was going on. More lights started to turn on as most of them stayed off. She took a step forward and grabbed the railing, watching as the lights finally stopped. She could see why Beca needed all day to arrange things. "Wow.." She muttered under her breath. The lights were in the shape of a heart.

"I figured that my heart is too weak and small to give to you, so I decided that you deserve a huge one that's full of light." Beca spoke up from behind Chloe who was still watching with wide eyes. "You've been my light in the darkest times." The brunette continued. "Even though I could never tell you before. You've made me happier than I've ever been."

Chloe finally turned to look at Beca. "You have no idea how happy you have made me since you moved here."

"I doubt that." Beca responded.

"No, really." Chloe said. "I used to be so lost. And now, whenever I'm looking for myself, I find you." She took Beca's hands into hers and stared into her eyes. "That's all because I'm not me without you. I can't be anything without you. You make me whole."

Beca was speechless this time. She opened her mouth to say something, but couldn't find the words. Chloe smiled at seeing that. The brunette always had something to say, but she managed to get her speechless and enjoyed it.

Beca noticed the smile on the redhead's face and gave her a smile in return. "Just remember to keep that smile when I'm gone."

Chloe's smile faded as soon as it came. She noticed something rolling down her cheek, but didn't bother to wipe it away.

"I really wish I had more time with you." Beca's eyes dropped to the ground. "I wish that I could stay."

"Kiss me." Chloe shot out.

Beca looked up rather shocked. Not because it's something weird to say, but because it was so unexpected. "Chloe, we can't. You know that. It's not that I don't want to, because believe me, I do." She dropped her gaze back at her shoes. "It's just… If we get intimate, it will be harder for us to…"

The redhead cut her off. "If you kiss me, you won't leave me."

"What do you mean?" Beca asked, looking up again.

"If you kiss me, you'll be with me forever."

"And if I don't?"

"Then I'll be back with Aubrey and you will.." Chloe trailed off, biting her lower lip.

"I get it." Beca pursed her lips. "I guess I've got no choice then." She smiled as she started to lean in closer.

Chloe didn't wait a second and closed the gap between them, pressing their lips together and sealing the deal.

…..

The next day Aubrey walked out of a store with a package in her hand as she thought about the conversation she had with Chloe in a cafe that morning. She had asked her how her day with Beca had been and couldn't help but notice the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about it. She walked through an empty park and stopped in front of fountain. The blonde took her phone out of her pocket and searched for Beca in her contact list. Her finger hovered over the 'call' button for a while until she finally plucked up the courage and pressed on it. It rang a few times, but nobody answered. Sighing, she decided to just leave a voicemail before she changed her mind later.

"You know." The blonde started. "I've always wanted to see the love in her eyes that I have in mine. Today, I've had finally seen it. I've seen her eyes sparkle with so much love. So much desire. However, it was not for me. It will never be for me." Aubrey sniffed. "You're her first love, Beca. I can't compete with you." She looked at the little red box in her hand and kept her eyes on it as she spoke. "I bought her a little goodbye gift. It's a necklace. She loved it, but didn't want to accept it from me, because it was too expensive. Now she has to, because I'm gonna leave this city for a while. I can't be in her life like this. I.." the blonde trailed off as she felt something press against her back. Before she could turn around to see what it was, she heard a low, heavy voice. A man's voice.

"Give it to me."
