There was a good chance that no one else noticed the sun freckles painted across his forearms. They were barely noticeable, hidden underneath the dark arm hair. His hands were on his knees, wet from the dip he had taken into the lake. The thick inky black hair that he carefully styled each morning was plastered to his forehead, an inch shy of his leaf green eyes.

He turned toward her to grin. It seemed like he was always smiling, but she'd never noticed the way the corners of his eyes crinkled or the crooked canine leaning on his incisor.

There had been a time when she had been so sure that the love of her life was his brother. Mako was as fierce as the element he wielded, but so was Korra. They had burned each other until they were left with nothing with scorched hearts.

Bolin elbowed her in the ribs, a smirk lifting the left edge of his mouth upward. "You look like you're thinking too hard about something."

She looked up at him through her curtain of wet fringe. "I can't think now? Are you the thinking police now?"

His smile widened. "I'm not saying anything. You just don't usually think about things. You're an action kind of girl. That's my Korra."

She paused for a moment, her mouth still open. His Korra?

It was only for a second though because her hands were holding either side of his face, guiding it toward hers. Their bodies were slick with lake water, her chest sliding against his as she pressed her mouth to his. His hands faltered before sliding past her waist toward her back. His thick fingers pressed into her tanned skin, bringing them closer together. She licked into his mouth. It was her new mission to taste that one crooked tooth on the left bottom side of his mouth. When she pulled away they were both panting, their chests knocking into each other with each breath.

"That's what I call action."

Korra effectively wiped the grin off of his face with another kiss.
