The Doctor, the Pegasus, and the Princess
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the official characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Lauren Faust is the person who created this generation of ponies. Anything from the game series Metroid and Kirby belongs to Nintendo. I also do not own anything else that may emerge as crossover material.
Author's Note: There's a bit of a crossover scene in this chapter revolving the Doctor and friends dropping into the manga plot of Metroid Prime: Episode of Aether, and then a minor scene with the Kirby anime. Hope y'all enjoy it, now!
A thousand years have passed since that fateful day Luna was banished to the moon. A thousand years pulling double duty with the responsibilities of both sun and moon. A thousand years of loneliness. However as the years went by, Celestia knew that eventually her sister tainted by the nightmare will make her return. But the signs told her that not all would be lost. If her protégé, Twilight Sparkle, showed anything to her, she would be the one that would save Equestria as well as her sister...
The Summer Sun Celebration this year would be held in Ponyville, a short train ride distance from Canterlot. As she gets off her throne to go for a walk, a spiraling cloud of smoke emerged and by magic a rolled scroll drops before her. She lifts it off the floor with her magic and undoes the ribbon.
"She really is smart," said Celestia, reading the message from her precious student. She learned of the threat of her sister Luna, or Nightmare Moon, could pose to all of Equestria. She looks out the window, as she discards the parchment and summons a blank one and a quill and ink bottle. "Soon... we will be reunited. Maybe she is the one, the destined pony..."
Taking a dip into the ink, she starts to write her message back to her precious student.
"My dearest, most faithful student, Twilight," the letter begins, "You know that I value your diligence and that I trust you completely."
Celestia stops here, and again looks out the window. With a sigh, she soon finished writing up the reply and she sends it back to her student with a small application of magic. Now it was only a matter of time before the protections would fail, and her sister would make her return to Equestria by imprisoning her. She knew that would be the first thing Nightmare Moon would do: go after the one who placed her on the moon in the first place...

Great Temple, Aether
Dasha Region
The Doctor (in a human form and wearing cybernetic crystal armor), Derpy and Princess Luna (both also in their human forms and donning similar female versions of the armor worn by the Doctor), and U-Mos watch as Samus Aran returned the Suits of Dark and Light to the Luminoth, along with the final energy sphere. They weren't alone; the other Luminoth were also waking up from their slumber after being in a long sleep.
And with the Doctor and his companions were survivors of the Galactic Federation ship that crashed onto this planet; Klaus Schneider, Miguel Luis Garcia, Lily Thran, and Jeff McCloud. Samus had saved Aether from destruction, and also had combat against a dark clone of herself in the collapsing dark world after killing the Emperor Ing.
The Doctor was grinning. "Well, we saved the planet. This is delightful!"
The last of the light was deposited, and the weapons of the Luminoth were returned with it, along with the suits and the Energy Module Transfer System. Without the Luminoth systems, her armor reverted back to its normal Chozo Varia Armorsuit form.
"We should celebrate with muffins," said Derpy, also wearing a cheesy smile on her own face.
The youngest of their group, Jeff, laughed. "Yeah, muffins sound good right now."
"When we get back to a Federation-occupied planet," said Lily.
U-Mos bows, one arm crossed over his broad chest plate, to Samus Aran.
"Samus Aran, we of the Luminoth thank you and your companions for saving us from a perilous fate."
The other Luminoth all bow to the humans.
Luna steps up to the armor-clad heroine. "Samus, are you okay?"
"Yes, Luna, I am feeling well," she responds.
"I am glad. I will admit I have been worried for your safety when you jumped into the portal to the Dark Sanctuary."
"It was tough, I'll admit, but it is nothing I have not faced before in my past," Samus explains.
Later on, Samus brought the survivors to her ship where she had crashed upon arriving to Aether. The Doctor, Derpy, and Luna accompanied them to see them off.
"Well, I can at least tell the Federation I had rescued survivors," said Samus, checking her ship over. All readings gave off zero error reports; all repairs had been completed.
"Can't believe we'll be going home," said Jeff.
Miguel chuckled. "We survived this nightmare. That's all that matters."
"Samus," Luna speaks up, catching the woman's attention who decided to disable her armor. There was no more danger so she could finally relax her guard. The other survivors couldn't help but stare at Samus's hidden beauty without her armor on.
"Yes, Luna?"
"There is something I have wanted to give you for awhile since we met." Reaching into one of her pockets, she takes out a small chunk of carved crystal. It resembled her cutie mark. "This is a Dream Crystal. From my planet, it is used for those who have nightmares or bad nights getting sleep. Just keeping this nearby on a bedside table or hung on the wall over your bed, it will bring a type of inner warmth to your soul. With this, I hope that your future dreams are that of peace."
Samus smiles fondly to the touching gift, accepting it.
"Thank you, Luna."
Luna gives the blonde a hug.
"Well, this has been fun. But I guess this is where we part company," said the Doctor, walking up to Samus and holding out his hand. Samus gives him a firm handshake.
"Are you sure we can't accompany you to your ship?" asks Lily.
"No worries. Remember? Luna can use magic and the Doctor is generally crafty and ninja-like."
The Doctor chuckles at Derpy calling him a ninja. "Ninja... Right, Derpy." There was some laughter shared. Samus smiles to her friends, before she boarded her ship and the survivors followed. Derpy, Luna, and the Doctor watch as Samus's gunship takes into the air and the ion thrusters blast it upward, rapidly gaining altitude until the ship vanished from their eyes. Maybe one day, Samus Aran would encounter Luna and her friends again... and that would be a touching reunion...
"Well now, Doctor... that was one interesting adventure we had."
"Better than the Daleks or Cybermen," said the Doctor.
"But didn't we encounter Dark Daleks and Dark Cybermen in the Ing Hive?" Derpy questioned the Doctor.
"... Well other than that," he relents. BEEP-BEEP! The TARDIS responds to the car alarm of the key and appears in the spot Samus's ship once was parked, and the door opens.
Once inside the TARDIS, the police box vanishes into its wibbly wobbly timey whimey portal of adventure. The Doctor had put away the protective armor that Luna constructed with a large expense of her magic upon arriving to the planet.
"Although... it would solve the little mystery of the TARDIS taking us to that planet," said the Doctor. "The Daleks are always a bit of a pain in the tush..."
"Do you believe they found traces of that Phazon mutagen and decided to study it, not knowing of the dangers it possessed?" asks Luna, having learned from Samus when they met the woman the dangers of such a poisonous substance. It even scared her of how dangerous and corrosive the mutagen known as Phazon could deal to Equestria should it ever befall her home world. She feared it would mean certain death to all of ponydom.
"Likely. But I know Samus Aran will solve the problem of Phazon and destroy its source permanently."
He throws down some switches and levers, and the TARDIS shakes and rumbles softly.
"For now, however..." Here, the Doctor smiles.
"Onward to the next adventure," cheers Derpy.
And the TARDIS flies off through time and space, as the occupants inside wait for the next stop to arrive.

"My dear Twilight, there is more to a young pony's life than studying, so I'm sending you to supervise the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year's location: Ponyville. And, I have an even more essential task for you to complete: Make some friends!"
It is the next day in Equestria since Twilight Sparkle had fully uncovered a threat that would endanger all of Equestria, only to get a response from Celestia stating she should stop reading, in her words, "those dusty old books." Right now, it was Twilight Sparkle, a purple unicorn, Spike, a baby dragon, and two pegasi guards that were "flying" the chariot to their destination.
Twilight Sparkle sighs. Spike looks to Twilight. "Look on the bright side, Twilight. The Princess arranged for you to stay in a library. Doesn't that make you happy?"
That brightened Twilight up a bit. "Yes, yes it does. You know why? Because I'm right! I'll check on the preparations as fast as I can, then get to the library to find some proof of Nightmare Moon's return."
"Then... when will you make friends, like the Princess said?" Spike reminded Twilight.
"She said to check on preparations," she answers, "I am her student, and I'll do my royal duty, but the fate of Equestria does not rest on me making friends."
How soon these words will come back to haunt her...
Soon they arrived to their destination, and after they exit the chariot Twilight politely thanks the two guards for the ride to the town, who smile and nod.
"Maybe the ponies in Ponyville have interesting things to talk about." And trotting happily down the road was a pink mare. Spike saw the pony with the bright pink mane, and looks to Twilight. "Come on, Twilight, just try!"
Twilight sighed, before looking away from Spike to the pink pony who stares at the two.
"Um... hello?" she says, a bit unsure of how she'll be responded.
Pinkie Pie releases a prolonged gasp, before in a cloud of dust vanishes into the distance.
Spike and Twilight watch the mare vanish. "Well, that was interesting all right," said Twilight.
Spike sighs. He decides to take out the checklist Twilight prepared the night before, pulling out a quill that came with the list.
"Well, let's get this started. The Summer Sun Celebration Overseer's Official Checklist." He looks to Twilight. "Really, Twi?"
"Let's just get to work," she deadpans, trotting away.
They head in the direction of Sweet Apple Acres...
Meanwhile, in another universe, on another planet shaped like a star...
"How in the name of my sister did this happen to me?"
Princess Luna was back in her alicorn form, and had a cute pink puffball named Kirby riding on her back and having fun with his very innocent outlook. She however was running as fast as she could from a large mob of horny dog-like creatures. Yes, you read right. Horny dogs... made entirely of crystal. Question: What the hell is going on?
"Why doesn't she just fly away?" asks Derpy, sitting on top of a large fluffy cloud, also in her pegasus form. Sitting on the edge somehow was the Doctor in his earth pony form. Look closely and you'd see the edges of the TARDIS' rooftop being used as a static platform that's just hidden under the clouds. He wasn't alone: two Cappy children were also standing on top of the static platform that is the TARDIS.
"Kirby looks like he's having fun riding the back of Princess Luna," said Tuff. Tiff sighs softly, face palming.
They were at Pop Star after getting a message from Meta Knight. It involved creatures that resembled dogs: large dog-like face/body, large floppy paws for feet, and long droopy ears that double as its arms. They were impervious to their own known uses of magic, so Meta Knight had thought to seek the help of someone he knew that traveled the universe. That someone was the Doctor, and their mage in company, Princess Luna. He manages to acquire her help to combat dog-like creatures that were made of a clear crystalline gel/rock structure because Kirby's normal ways of combating evil baddies were somehow ineffective.
"Should we help her?" Derpy asks the Doctor. She, Tiff, and Tuff sweatdropped seeing the Doctor sipping on a glass of pink strawberry lemonade...
"Nah, she'll be fine," he tells his winged companion. He then takes another long sip of the drink.
Derpy facehoofs at that lazy reply. "I still think we should offer help."
Luna would eventually remember she can fly and took to the skies to evade the crystal mutts. She would then get mad for forgetting this and take her frustrations out on the crystal dog monsters, inadvertently saving Cappy Town in the process, and annoying King Dedede when one of his plots of defeating Kirby was thwarted by outside help.
"See? Told ya she can handle it," said the Doctor at the end of this small adventure.
This earned him a smack over the back of the head by Derpy.

Twilight Sparkle met a colorful array of ponies on her trip of completing her duties of checking on the preparations for the upcoming Summer Sun Celebration. The first pony she met other than the pink one was Applejack, and through Applejack was introduced to the entire Apple Clan. When Twilight eventually gets away from them all one tasting of food samples later, she is crashed into by Rainbow Dash. After the events with Rainbow Dash, up to being proved RD was indeed Ponyville's fastest mare, they came to Town Hall where Spike would start crushing hard on Rarity, and Rarity would annoy Twilight when she's dragged away to get her mane fixed. Eventually escaping the Boutique and Rarity's costumes, they find Fluttershy. She was very shy towards them, but very energetic when she saw Spike.
The mare's entire day was quiet an eventful. Twilight was rather rude to Fluttershy when she tried to find any excuse to get away and back to the library, only to find out the entire town was inside said library having a massive party celebration, hosted by the pink one from before, Pinkie Pie. It was not only a party to celebrate the Summer Sun Celebration, but also doubled as a Welcome to Ponyville party for Twilight. Poor Twilight never once got to do any studying on preparing for the eventual return of Nightmare Moon, nor did she stick around to join the party after mistakenly drinking a full cup of hot sauce instead of fizzy soda. Hours have passed and the party finally winds down, and all of Ponyville and visitors from out of town would leave and head towards Town Hall where the Summer Sun Celebration would officially begin.
Twilight Sparkle was in the crowd, being energetically talked to by Pinkie Pie who already declared herself Twilight's new friend in Ponyville from the party in the library.
"Isn't this exciting? Are you excited, 'cause I'm excited, I've never been so excited – well, except for the time that I saw you walking into town and I went," Pinkie Pie does a deep gasp to mimic her gasping scene from before, "but I mean really, who can top that?"
On her back was Spike who was tired, but stayed awake like every other pony for the Summer Sun Celebration. A short fanfare burst would play, before stage lights operated by two pegasi directed their lights down upon the mayor of Ponyville. Mayor Mare smiles to everypony in attendance.
"Fillies and gentlecolts, as mayor of Ponyville, it is my great pleasure to announce the beginning of the Summer Sun Celebration!"
The ponies start cheering. Twilight is the only one not cheering; she was worried for the threat she knew was going to happen. She looks out the window, spying the moon for a brief moment before gazing back. She never noticed how a faint silhouette of a pony form faded off its surface. The soldiers posted inside the town hall were also not cheering; keeping vigilant for their princess.
Mayor Mare raised a hoof for the ponies to quiet themselves, before she resumes speaking. "In just a few moments, our town will witness the magic of the sunrise, and celebrate this, the longest day of the year! And now, it is my great honor to introduce to you the ruler of our land, the very pony who gives us the sun and the moon each and every day, the good, the wise, the bringer of harmony to all of Equestria..."
Fluttershy looks to her bird choir. "Ready?"
"Princess Celestia!" Mayor Mare finished her introduction.
The birds chirp heavenly with their prepared/trained tunes on Fluttershy's cue, as the curtains are drawn back via Rarity's magic manipulation and Princess Celestia steps into view, waving a hoof and smiling to the cheering crowd of ponies both young and old. Internally, however, Celestia was worried. She knew this was the day her sister would return to Equestria as Nightmare Moon, and would get her revenge for being banished to the moon. But in preparing for the surprise attack, Nightmare Moon never appeared. Down below among the crowd of ponies, Twilight Sparkle was looking around. She was surprised to see her teacher Celestia on the balcony safe and sound.
"See? I told you. It was just an old story. Nightmare Moon isn't back," said Spike, glad to see Twilight for once was wrong. Not to sound mean or anything, but Spike felt Twilight was focusing more on a threat that didn't exist...
"But I saw the signs... how could this be?" she mutters to herself, shocked that she was... wrong...
A strange sound echoed in the very air, startling many ponies to search for the source of the weird sound, and the bird song stopped chirping. Then one pony gasped; it was Pinkie Pie as she's the first to notice something was beginning to appear from out of thin air... or rather fade into existence. When the timey-whimey noise stopped, a large tall blue box with the word POLICE over the weird-looking door stood in the place it phased into. It was pure silence in the town hall, with everypony staring at the strange device that just phased into existence before their very eyes. Even the guards were tense.
The door suddenly slides open and a tidal wave of muffins explode outward. Ponies too close got buried under the avalanche of flavorful muffins. Then a cheerful cry (one familiar to Rainbow Dash) is heard as a gray pegasus with a light blonde mane explodes out riding the tidal wave of muffins on a surfboard that has the print of Rainbow Dash's cutie mark on its surface, followed by a tan-coat Earth pony trying not to drown under the sea of muffins. Finally, on a couch Rarity would later swear was stolen from her bedroom, a familiar face to Princess Celestia rides the end of the tidal wave of muffins holding up a small foldable device of sorts with her magic.
"Derpy, I told you the TARDIS didn't have enough room despite it being very expandable," said the Doctor, taking a muffin that got tangled in his tail out.
"But they were having a muffin sale! I love muffins!"
"You need Muffins Anonymous," the Doctor shouted at her, getting out of the muffin avalanche.
Luna was too focused on her game to take notice.
"The buck I do, Doctor," Derpy retaliates.
"Will you two stop?" Luna finally speaks up, saving her game and then flipping the switch to power down the Nintendo 3DS. She then, somehow, pockets her gaming device away. Yeah I won't go into physics details on this action. Just accept it. "Honestly, you two... we're in public, and you've flooded a town square with muffins."
Luna's horn glows and all the muffins were magicked into the air, freeing trapped ponies in the avalanche, before large plastic containers appeared, and they are all stored away. Yes, it took a lot of containers, but all the muffins were put away, lids sealed, and stacked neatly aside. Only one muffin was missing, and it was in the hoof of one Pinkie Pie, who had taken a bite out of it.
Yummy banana flavor!
"Derpy?" an exclaimed shout is heard, as Rainbow Dash in a burst of speed appears before Derpy who was holding her surf board upright.
"Hey, Rainbow Dash," the wall-eyed mare greeted the rainbow-maned pegasus. If she had hands, she would be giving the gnarly peace sign.
"So you took my surf board?" Rainbow Dash would accuse Derpy.
"I left behind a note saying I was borrowing it for a surfing competition. Didn't you read it or were you too busy doing stunts worthy of the Wonderbolts' attention?"
Rainbow Dash didn't exactly have an answer for that; she did spy what looked like a note but threw it away in a hurry to get ready for stunt practicing in the clouds.
Luna walks up to Derpy and the Doctor.
"So, you are Rainbow Dash, the friend of my friend Derpy Hooves. It is a pleasure to meet you," she greeted the rainbow-maned mare.
Rainbow Dash stared at the other alicorn, not sure what to say.
Doctor noticed Celestia walking up from behind, having flown down from the second story balcony.
"Luna, your sister," he whispers to the princess of the night.
Luna turns around and faces Celestia. Celestia stares back, shocked that Luna had returned. She noticed that her young sister's mane was cut short in a tomboy fashion, but still had enough length for a short ponytail in the back. And her once flowing tail was now shortened up to accent her tomboy hairstyle. She still wore her crown that designated her princess of the night, but she was missing her other royal jewelry.
"Hello, sister dear," Luna greeted Celestia after what would be a thousand years since that horrible day.
Those in hearing range gasped; this strange alicorn was related to Princess Celestia? Celestia was surprised how modern her sister sounded, no longer speaking in the old royal voice or worded mannerism, nor did she refer herself in the third view.
"Sister," Celestia whispers softly. Tears started to form in the elder's eyes.
Luna embraces Celestia, wrapping her forelegs around her older sister in a firm hug. This was not a dream; Luna had really returned, and she was not inflicted by the nightmare that plagued her heart and soul. In front of her subjects, Princess Celestia breaks down into tears, as she hugs Luna back, soon sobbing openly.
"Luna! You've returned!" she cried.
Luna closes her eyes, holding her older sister in her hooves. Tears pricked the corner of her eyes as well. The Doctor and Derpy Hooves watched from the sidelines, both smiling at the tearful reunion...
"Shh, sister dear... I'm home at last. And I promise you; the darkness will never again take me away from you."
"For a thousand years since I was forced to banish you from Equestria, I cried for you. I cried that our bond as sisters were broken," Celestia choked out in her sobs. "I was so alone without you there at my side..."
"Shush, sister... you only did what was the right thing. If you had not, the darkness that took hold of me would have killed you, and our world would have descended into madness. You saved the world from a threat that would have destroyed all life on this planet."
Celestia sniffled.
"It still did not lessen the heavy weight on my heart when I was forced to use the Elements of Harmony on you," she tells Luna. "How did you get free?"
"It was my companions," Luna replied, gesturing to Derpy Hooves and the Doctor, both whom trot up to Celestia's view. "My dearest friends in the universe. Their happiness, their friendliness, was a light that shined through even the darkest of veils. When I found myself banished to the moon, I was shocked that you had defeated me, but there they were..."
Luna can recall that day well in her mind.
"The Elements of Harmony had weakened the darkness that held me prisoner, sister. They offered me something that is irreplaceable in my heart: friendship. Their willingness to offer me friendship is what chipped away the shell that held me down. Their smiles washed away the grime that stained my soul. And the wonderful muffins and their radiant light are what allowed me to break free from the tendrils of ink that tried to keep me drowning under a sea of black."
Derpy giggles. "Muffins are great, aren't they?"
Luna laughs softly. "Yes they are."
Celestia cracked a smile at this.
"Luna, don't forget why we're here," Doctor informed the night princess.
Luna's carefree smile washed away to a stern look, one of a hardened warrior. This look surprised Celestia.
"I know, Doctor. Even if I am free of the nightmare, it is not fully gone from this world."
As if by fate, the night skies outside the building started to get swallowed by an impenetrable sea of red and black clouds. This sea of clouds would cover the entirety of the planet, startling many civilizations across the world, including the zebras, the griffins, the minotaurs, the deer, the buffalo, and the horses. Celestia gasped as panic started to set in on her precious ponies. Mothers and fathers would try their best to comfort their children, friends would try to calm their friends, and the guards were trying to keep civilized order.
"Princess Celestia," a voice cried out, startling Luna as a mare with a purple coat and a baby dragon riding her back rushed to her elder sister.
"Twilight Sparkle," Celestia embraces her student.
"What's going on?" Twilight would ask her teacher, confused and worried about this strange anomaly happening before their very eyes.
"The Nightmare," the Doctor answers Twilight, startling the unicorn.
A dark and vile laugh echoed in the air, making Luna tense up and her eyes to shift into a dark look. Derpy was also glaring, looking around for the source as the Doctor pulls out his Sonic Screwdriver, holding it within his mouth.
"I have returned after a thousand years..."
The voice, a feminine aria, sounding out in a distorted echo, was everywhere and at the same time nowhere.
"This time, I will not be stopped..."
Then from the second story stage, a swirling black mist started to form, until the mass of shadows took on a solid shape, spreading forth large wings, a fusion of a bat's wing and an angel's wing. Long sharpened teeth are seen with its mad grin, a forked tongue slithering forth with a hiss, and its cat-like eyes glowed with a fierce green light. It wore a set of dark purple and black armor, and its mane and tail was like the ionized stardust of the galaxy with twinkling red stars within, flaring wildly like a burning inferno. Set upon the torso armor was a large triangular gemstone, a vivid blood red. And floating next to it was a large glaive shaped in the design of the crescent moon, all black in color and the blade as red as blood
"Princess Luna is mine! Her soul belongs to me! And not even you will stop me from plunging her, and this pathetic world, back into the sea of darkness, Doctor!" The Nightmare threatened the stallion who was referred by his enemies The Oncoming Storm, the Nightmare's terrifying and evil laugh following this statement.
"No," Luna's voice breaks through, firm in dedication of bravery.
Princess Luna takes a step forward in front of her sister, and glares upon the thing that ruined her life a thousand years ago.
"You made me weak! You tempted me with power I should have never taken! You swallowed me under a sea of black on the point of no return!"
Her horn shines with an intensity of magical energy, almost threatening to engulf her with a fierce aura of power.
"You will never again tough me with your vile claws! And I will not allow you to touch my friends and family!" Luna declared.
The Nightmare sneers at Luna.
"It is too late," the Nightmare would calmly reply, before exploding into a burst of energy and rapidly vanish, escaping the near hit from Luna's emotion-powered energy lance attack that destroyed a portion of the second story balcony.
"Luna, if we do not stop the Nightmare, it will destroy this world," the Doctor informs the princess of the night, "And then it will spread out from this planet, and destroy other worlds and civilizations..."
"I know Doctor," she replies, her anger subsiding. "There is only one other thing that can help us combat that evil creature. And that is the Elements of Harmony."
"But would the Elements of Harmony no longer respond to you and Princess Celestia, Luna?" asks a worried Derpy.
"Yes, that is true, but something tells me that the next beholders of the Elements of Harmony are already among us," said the Doctor, casting his eyes upon Twilight, who caught this action and backed up to her teacher. "After all, Miss Twilight here likely has knowledge about the Elements of Harmony."
"How did you know?" Twilight whispered, shocked that this strange stallion knew of the Elements of Harmony.
And with a swagger in his step, the Doctor gives her a confident smile.
"I'm the Doctor."
"Doctor Who...?"
Derpy giggles at this response, and Luna also smiles a bit in humor.
The Doctor's smile goes away, turning serious again.
"Come now, no more time for humor and games; we got a threat to combat, and Miss Twilight and her friends have to find the Elements of Harmony before the Nightmare finds them, and destroys them."
"And I will assist," stated Luna.
Celestia gasped. "Luna! I don't want to lose you again!"
Luna looks to Celestia.
"You will not lose me, dear sister. That creature wants me, so I will do what is right of me as Princess of the Night; I will fight the monster, weaken it until the Elements of Harmony are utilized and the creature erased from existence."
Doctor bounced in his step turning around.
"Well, c'mon! No time to falter! We got a world to save!" he exclaims.
"Yeah! Let's go Luna!" Derpy shouts, already running for the exit, and the Doctor follows after her.
Luna and Celestia exchange silent glances before the younger sibling runs towards the exit, taking flight once she goes through the doors, flying after the Doctor and Derpy Hooves. Twilight Sparkle meanwhile was running away as well, only she was returning back to the Golden Oaks Library. This was not missed by Rainbow Dash, who decided to tail after Twilight Sparkle. Rainbow Dash would be followed by Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie.
Nopony noticed the TARDIS had disappeared...
Alone, Princess Celestia stands regal. This action is caught by the guards, as all immediately turn attention to her.
"Everypony, listen up!" she shouts, her voice silencing the screaming and panicking. "You will all remain here in the town. Return to your homes and do not leave until it is safe again. For the visitors, remain here in Town Hall until it's safe to venture outside again. As for my guards," Celestia's guards all straighten up stiffer, if possible, "all pegasi are to return to Canterlot. Mobilize the entire military. From this point on, we are under a State of Emergency!"
"Yes, your majesty!" the pegasi guards all chorus before they take flight, exiting the building and flying as fast as they can back to Canterlot to mobilize the military.
"The rest of you, station yourselves in Ponyville. Protect the townsfolk," she orders the remaining non-winged guards.
"Yes, your majesty!" the rest of the guards chorus.
As the actions started, and everypony was being escorted to their homes, Princess Celestia glances out the nearby window. The stars of the night sky were blocked out by the eerie sea of red and black clouds, darkening the lands. She began to focus her magic in her horn, to try and connect with the sun she has raised and lowered for a thousand years, but her actions would be for naught; she could not feel any connection to the sun. The ominous clouds were blocking her magic. She began to pray; for her sister's safety, for her companions she befriended, and for her precious student Twilight.
I know. I suck horribly for leaving this on a dangerous cliffhanger. Just because Luna is freed from the nightmare, did not mean it was gone forever... that only means a bigger threat threatens not just Equestria, but all the lands of the pony planet. How did this go? Was the world saved? Nopony knows... until I get off my lazy arse and write a sequel...
