~~Integrity~~
Sam's POV Words: 490
Skulker upgraded again. He does that a lot seeing as how Danny's figured out how get around or break most of his gadgets. But every few upgrades or so, a weapon will get a serious hit in. Tonight was that upgrade. Considering what he's been through before, the shallow gash from his chest to his left shoulder was nothing. The rate of his hyper healing was negating the need for stitches. If he was lucky there wouldn't need to be bandages by the time PE rolled around tomorrow. It was a sad form of luck, but at this point we were taking all we could get.
With the end of the bandages secure, Danny quickly scrambles to put his shirt back on. I have to hide a smile. Out of all the teenage guys in the town, Danny must be the only one who can't wait to put his clothes on when alone with a girl. But then, he was better than that. I wouldn't like him so much if he wasn't. When I stop and think about it, which I've been doing more often lately, there are actually a lot of reasons I like Danny.
There's the simple, stupid things that normal teenage girls look for in guys, like pretty eyes or his adorably messed up hair or even the six-pack he hides under his formless t-shirt. But what really surprised me when I started falling for Danny was his integrity. I never imagined it was something that made up so much of someone's identity, or that Danny would have developed such a strict sense of morals so early. Freakshow forced me to realize how strict his morals had been when he forced Danny to break them. Danny could have anything he ever wanted just by using his powers to take it. That's what Vlad had done, building an immense fortune by abusing his powers for his own gain.
Danny interrupted my thoughts, "I- I should get going now…" I don't want to bother you anymore.
"You're sure you can fly ok?" You can stay here.
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow." I promise. He gives that adorable half smile that makes me melt in a very un-Goth like way. He walks over to the window and opens it, "Oh, and Sam?"
The gentle brush of his lips against my cheek is enough to both stop my heart and send it racing at the same time.
"Thank you."
With that he was gone; I gently traced my cheek, knowing a very un-Goth like smile was spreading on my lips. Since Nocturne's invasion of privacy we had this unspoken relationship. Unspoken because Danny would never be able to say anything without stuttering horribly and blushing, I would never be caught dead saying the "L-word", and Tucker would be impossible to calm down when he found out. I reach out and close the window, leaving it unlocked for him.
Just in case.

Special thanks to the writing of this drabble to the tumblr blog thatdannyphantommoment which reminded me that Danny and Sam don't always correct someone when they are called lovebirds.
