So... Guess who's come back after years of being quiet!
I'm amazed at the reviews I am still getting after years of starting this story.
Thank you all to those that are still waiting for an update!
A foul stench of decay filled the air in the shabby room, a stream of light filtered through a crack in the ceiling, as the only source of light it cast shadows on the newly brought in prisoners.
The men in various degrees of consciousness had been brought in and dumped in a corner cell with the rusting iron bars clanging shut and bolted.
One of the men from the group had been separated from the rest. Instead of being put in the corner cell he'd been placed in the opposite cell further away from the door in the room, where the darkness swallowed any form of light. The young man was the only one in the group not wearing armour, instead he was shivering slightly as the thin layer of his brown jacket did not keep at the biting cold.
It seemed that the guards where taking no chances with this trembling figure, they took hold of his arms and placed them above his head and kept them in place with thick iron chains, onlooking prisoners dully watched the scene unfold as the pale man groaned as his body was forced to stand in such an unnatural position. However it was the spark of light that caught there eyes as a shimmer of red shone for a few seconds around the man's neck, a louder groan escaped from the his lips as the light shone brighter and then died down, it wasn't a lot but the light had revealed a brace around his neck.
One of the men that had been brought into the corner cell must have been revered from his slumber, shaking his head, trying to get his bearings. He let his eyes adjust to the darkness when his head shot to the right as he heard rattling and a familiar voice in shadows. Arthur stumbled forward towards cell door, rattling the metal, the men startled and began coming to their senses. It didn't take long to realise they were one man down. Arthur looked to the furthest corner in the room where a flash of red lit up the room for a second, but it was long enough to see what they'd done to his manservant, his Friend, Merlin...
