Hello everyone again~ Sorry about this chapter taking a little longer for me to write then usual, it's just I've started a job now yay. So I'll try to get the rest of the chapters up in time but there will be other times when they might be a little late.
Thank you so much to all who reviewed, your kind comments are what keeps me going in life.
Mephisto smirked down at his two younger brothers as they tried to sneak their way through True Cross Town.
The two were succeeding in their task to not run into any exorcists but as per usual, it seemed that Amaimon was proving to be quite the nuisance.
Mephisto laughed, leaning back into the soft comfort of his large chair he was using to spy on his brothers from above. It was amusing to watch how those two behaved when they weren't trying to kill each other, he found that they got along like cats and dogs.
It was a shame really, the two were more alike than they thought.
He guessed it was because their first meeting wasn't a pleasurable one, though he supposed that was his doing, he was the one after all to send Amaimon to "play" with Rin.
But that wasn't something of importance, It needed to have been done to have moved his plan into action. Mephisto didn't care if the two didn't get along, as long as they didn't kill each other, then it was fine.
Clicking a box of strawberry pocky into existence, Mephisto made himself comfortable so he could enjoy the show.
Of course he had known straight away that his two younger brother's had entered True Cross town, as a matter of fact he had planned it. He needed to document how Amaimon acted around his students after all.
Being the king of time, he knew how important time was. So naturally he wasn't going to waste it by just watching his two brothers for no set purpose, He was Mephisto, clearly something even as small as this had a reason.
Telling Rin about the complications of his barrier had been phase one of his plans, of course he was able to conjure up a barrier that was able to only hold Amaimon. But thankfully his youngest brother wasn't all that intelligent and was quite gullible, so it was easy for Mephisto to trick him as he had done many times before.
He had heard Yukio and those other exwires talking about their plans for today a while back, and knowing Rin wouldn't be able to hold back his temptation to see his so beloved friends, he had cunningly thought up his very own plan. A plan that would make Rin bring Amaimon and enable him to study Amaimon and his behaviour.
Mephisto was tired of searching for clues, it had already been a week and he had been unable to find anything, not even a shred of evidence to support Amaimon. Taking out the first stick of pink pocky, he harshly bit it; chewing it in slight annoyance. He felt like this whole case was mocking him to be truthful.
He seethed, he had no doubt in his mind that the culprit was laughing at him and his frustration. He couldn't wait until he got his hands around his neck and killed him himself. Which if Mephisto was willing to get his hands dirty, proved how pissed he really was.
In spite of all this, now wasn't the time to lose his head, he needed a coherent mind to concentrate on the scene before him. Swallowing the last of his beloved Japanese treat, he went for the next stick.
Though when his attention was caught by a familiar person, he had dejectedly put them away, making them disappear in a cloud of pink smoke. "Oh no no no, that won't do." He tsked in small surprise.
He had known that the lady eventually would have made a grand appearance in this little show of his, but this was too early, her part wasn't until the end of the show. He still had to much to decipher.
Mephisto sighed, slightly shaking his head. "Ah~ It can't be helped." And with that he had disappeared in a puff of brightly coloured smoke and stars; making his way down to a oblivious Shura.
Today was Shura's day off, much to her relief. Her none stop missions had left her feeling over worked lately and training with a certain brat didn't help that in the slightest, if anything it had added to her stress and fatigue.
But she could handle it, plus she wouldn't give up training the brat for the world. It should be illegal how much the kid entertained Shura in those small sessions, it was just so wrong how his failure could have her in stitches.
So she guessed it was worth it in a way, as long as Rin kept on delivering and kept her from getting bored then she really didn't care. But right now she didn't have any of that, so she would just have to do with a six back of beer, preparations for a mighty lunch and the comfort of her precious television.
Yup, she expected today would just be a nice day of relaxation.
What she didn't expect however, was to be stalked by some creep on her way back from the supermarket, and not just by any creep, no this was far worst then your average shady guy, this was Mephisto.
Honestly she had no idea why he hadn't gotten it yet that he couldn't just simply hide from her, even when he was a small cockroach he hadn't been able to stay hidden from her trained eye. He just had too strong of a presence; that overwhelming aura that stunk of pride to be able to spy on her unaware.
"What ya think you're doin' Mephisto!?" She deadpanned, swatting the purple bug before it puffed into the shape of a tall man.
"Oh, there's nothing escaping you is there?" Mephisto smirked from where he now stood in front of Shura, causing her frown to grow into an almost scowl up at the man who was once a annoying bug. Now he was just annoying.
"What eva' I don't have time with ya, so shoo fly go away." She made a shooing motion with her hand that wasn't holding groceries as she manoeuvre her way past the taller male.
She was glad when Mephisto didn't say anything or try to stop her, maybe he read that she wasn't in the mood for any of his scheming and let her go.
When the image of getting home and finally relaxing ran through her mind again, any questions she had about what Mephisto wanted disappeared. No she wouldn't have any distractions today.
It was too bad she had happened to catch sight of Rin, Yukio and the rest of the exwires, if that didn't happen then maybe she wouldn't have caught sight of the earth king and maybe she could have gotten home in one peace.
But alas things were just not looking up for her today.
"That moron!" She seethed, and with ever ounce of strength she possessed she used it to hold back from killing Rin right in that moment. What in heaven's name was he thinking!? She always knew the kid didn't have a brain but this was just beyond stupid!
Has the earth king destroyed anything yet? Is anyone dead? She didn't know, but what she did know was that she had to go over there right now and stop this.
And what were those other six doing? Surely Yukio would have put an end to this? Unless! "That bastard has brainwashed them!"
"I admire your imagination." Mephisto snickered from behind, making her jump. That was the first time he was able to do that.
"What is he doing here!?" Shura only snapped at him when she regained her bearings; turning to fully face him with a look of pure murder on her face.
It didn't take a rocket scientist to know Mephisto was behind this, he is the only one who was capable of letting him in after all.
"You know, you shouldn't frown so hard, you'll get wrinkles." Mephisto winked ignoring Shura's question and heated anger. "And how unpleasant would it be for a young lady such as yourself to age so early." Mephisto smirked when Shura's glare only deepened.
"You have two seconds to explain yourself before I kill you and that green cone head." Shura growled as she cracked her knuckles to emphasise her threat.
"I know an empty threat when I hear one." Was Mephisto's retort as he turned to walk away from the fuming Shura. "Follow."
"Like hell I woul-"
"If you don't I will use force."
And that was how Shura's day off relaxing turned into a day of following Yukio, the exwires and the earth king around True Cross town, and to make matters worse, she had to spend it with frigging Mephisto. The only way this could be even worse was if that baldy Angel was thrown into the mix!
Mephisto for once, had told her of what his plans intended. Though what he explained had only succeeding in confusing her more, why was the earth king so important to him that he would go to such lengths as to try to justify him? If anything this had lead her to become even more suspicious then she was before.
But knowing Mephisto, she knew there was no way for her to get out of this one. She would just have to suck it up and just watch the scene play out. She was just happy that Mephisto had decided to treat her to Monjayaki.
Though if anything goes out of hand, or even if something catches her suspicion, she would put her foot down and put an end to all this absurdity.
"Welcome!" The group was greeted by an overly cheerful waitress when walking into the monjayaki joint Amaimon had demanded they'd go to as a place to eat, and not wanting to repeat the last incident they had with the earth king, they had all agreed without any complaints.
Plus monjayaki didn't sound half bad, if anything it had actually been a good idea. Well at least that's what Rin had thought.
That way he could scram food from the others without begging for them to share or lend him money, and no way would he ask Yukio for money again, he had his dignity! Plus Yukio wasn't as giving as he used to be back in the day, now he usually expected something in return.
The group followed the bubbly waitress to a cramped booth where they all took their seats. Izumo, Yukio, Shiemi and Konekomaru squeezed in on one side while Amaimon, Rin, Bon and Shima sat on the opposite.
Konekomaru succeeded in making sure he sat as far from Amaimon as possible while Yukio and Bon made sure to sit in close range of him and Rin, just in case anything were to happen. And once again, Izumo could have cared less, she didn't really care if he was a demon, as long as he didn't try anything.
Happily, the waitress handed over the menus before taking her leave with an almost skip in her step. Amaimon poked his tongue at her as she left, he didn't know why he had found her annoying but he just did, but he found that with most humans. Rin must had thought so too because he snickered before brushing it off as a cough when Bon had elbowed him.
"Shall we see what there is then?" Rin suggested breaking the heavy silence while he rubbed his hands together and licked his lips like the food was already in front of him.
"Sounds good to me." Shima replied, grabbing for the first menu.
Being only three menus they all had to take turns at looking at what there was before making a decision and ordering, Amaimon however didn't have any patience for that; putting an arm over a startled Rin so he was able to pluck the menu out of Bon's unsuspecting hands.
"Oi you bastard!" Bon growled at the other who wasn't paying him any notice, which had only served to piss Bon off even more. This guy's arrogance was even worst then Rin's! And that was saying something.
"What!?I didn't do it!" Rin proclaimed when Bon had averted his glare to him.
"I still blame you, you're meant to be looking after him aren't you." He growled before leaning over to Shima to read off his menu.
Rin had only growled back before he too leant over to read of the nearest menu, which happened to be Amaimon's.
Amaimon however wasn't as sharing as Shima was; leaning away from Rin and turning so he could hide the options away from him.
"Hey!" Rin fumed, reaching and almost climbing over Amaimon as he held the menu further and further away.
Just as the two were about to fall off their seats Izumo huffed gaining their attention and making Rin sit up straight giving Amaimon his victory. "This is too weird." Izumo announced.
"Huh? I thought this place was nice though." Shiemi blushed astonished; leaning over the table so she could look at her friend.
"No not the place!" Izumo scoffed. "Having the earth king with us is what's weird."
"You're the weird one." Was Amaimon's childish retort from behind his menu.
Konekomaru flinched, he could feel the heavy tension in the air and he knew once Izumo had started she didn't stop. "H-hey Izumo, let's talk about something else."
Izumo felt her eye twitch, honestly was she the only one that found this situation so abnormal!? The earth king was just willingly sitting here and having lunch with them. Yes he was under lock down, but he wasn't exactly in chains now was he.
Though is wasn't like she was scared, it's just she wasn't stupid either, he was one of the princes of hell after all. Yukio must love his brother a lot if he was willing to let the earth king tag along, but what if another exorcist caught them? They'd probably all be sent to jail for suspicious behaviour.
"And what's even weirder is that Rin's acting all buddy buddy with him." Izumo added. What would have been normal was if Rin had chained him up and made him sit in the corner with a bag over his head so he was hidden from exorcists, that she may had accepted.
"Hey we are anything but 'buddy buddy!'" Rin protested, pulling back from where he had been craning his neck to see the menu Amaimon was holding above his head.
Izumo only stared at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Do buddies want to kill each other? Because then yes, I am a buddy." Amaimon pulled the menu away from his face to look at the girl across from him. Izumo couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not, his stone face and monotone voice told her nothing.
"Idiot, buddies are people who like to play games and have fun and that together." Rin huffed, yanking away the menu from Amaimon's tight grip.
"But don't we play games and have fun?" Amaimon asked bringing his black long thumb nail to his mouth to chew after he had nothing to occupy his hands.
"Told you." Izumo frowned, but Rin could have sworn he saw her slightly smirk at her being proven right.
Yukio rolled his eyes handing the menu to Izumo. "If we are done with all this, can we order already?"
After lunch, that actually turned out slightly less horrible then they had all imagined, they had all decided to go to a near by arcade to spend the rest of the day together.
It had been weird though, Rin could have sworn he saw Shura and Mephisto there on their way out and he nearly had a mini heart attack, but when he had looked back over it had only been an empty booth. So Rin had only concluded that he was now seeing things after he had been working himself up.
Though he could relax a bit now, there was rarely any exorcist in this part of town unless there was a demonic invasion, and sensing that there wasn't any Rin knew he was in the clear. For now at least.
When they stopped in front of the colourful lit building that flashed of signs that promised entertainment and prizes, Amaimon had come to a dead stop jaw slacked.
After a moment of what Rin though was Amaimon's brain rebooting itself, Amaimon smiled ear to ear, eyes twinkling like a child's when walking into a candy store.
Konekomaru flinched when Amaimon let out a disturbing giggle before he had bolted towards the doors.
"Hey, wait up!" Rin yelled after him, following suit.
"Isn't Rin usually the one to run into the arcade like a maniac first?" Shima laughed.
"Ugh, they're just as bad as each other." Izumo sighed.

Okay I hope you enjoyed this chapter! I hope I justified how immature and childish those two really are, if not I'll do more so in the next chapter~
Don't forget to leave a review, they always make my day.
