Bruises
Chapter 7
I do not own Shingeki no Kyojin
Not a single cloud could be seen in the sky, it was completely clear. The early chirping of the birds could be heard and the Sun was slowly rising. At this, the soldiers started to rub their hands together. It wasn't because they were cold, they had already warmed up enough, it was because they'd finally stop jogging. The order was not to stop until the Sun fully raised, that meant two hours without stopping. By being a member of the scouting legion, one would think that this was a piece of cake; it wasn't if you had only ate one apple. The punishment for stopping was 50 pushups for each time, the more times you stopped, the more pushups you'd do, the more you'd do, the more time you had to wait to eat breakfast. Most soldiers stopped at least three times. However, Sasha only stopped once; she didn't want to wait any longer to eat breakfast.
The pushups were the toughest for Sasha, doing them with a injured hand wasn't and easy job, the pain was terrible whenever she lifted. She finished them and looked at her hand, it had different shades of purple and red. Only other three soldiers had finished and she that the rest would still take some time. She sprinted to the bathroom only to wash her hands, then sprinted to the dinning room.
As expected, the dinning room was almost empty. She hurried to get her food and sat on the far corner of the table. Mikasa was seated on the other corner along with Ymir and Reiner, but she didn't feel like joining them. She wanted to be by herself. She needed time to clear her thoughts, to think about her relationship with the corporal. At her eyes, and probably at everyone's eyes they didn't have a normal relationship.
Sasha already knew that she wanted to be something with him. Anything. She didn't mind being friends, they'd see each other, they'd talk. It sounds pretty good. Just thinking about the two of them being in a romantic relationship made a little smirk appear in her mouth. I mean being able to call the corporal yours doesn't bad, though, it's never going to happen. All she really wanted was to be close to the corporal, and it didn't seem impossible for her. Not by how things were going. After all the personal things Levi had told her she knew that there was already a sort of bond between them.
Gulping the last drop of milk she stood up and went to wash her plates. While washing them Sasha wondered what had happened to Corporal, she hadn't seen him. A hangover? Must be that. Drying her hands she took a last look at the dinning room, to see if he was in there. He wasn't.
She walked to her room humming a song, one that her mother had taught her. It always cheered her up. Entering her room she took off her jacket and laid in her bed. They had two free hours, she had to find a way to spend them. While looking at her hand an idea crossed her mind of how to, it was hard to say yes or no, she had to think about it Who am I fooling? Lets find the corporal. Straightening she smiled, she wanted to see him. Her heart stopped when the door opened.
The darks circles around his eyes were the first thing that she noticed; his face was expressionless as usual. He entered the room without saying a word, walking directly to the bed and sitting on the edge of it.
"S-sir. What are you doing here?"
"Are you busy?" His stare was only focused on the floor.
She shook her head. She was feeling the exact same way she had felt when she finished jogging, her heart was beating at an incredible speed. Questioning herself if the corporal's visit meant something good or bad she sat on the bed in front of him.
"I see" He looked at her hand "Your hand" His gaze returned to her eyes. Hiding her hand her cheeks turned a little pink.
"Why weren't you at training today?"
"I was somewhere else"
"Where?" Levi yawned "If I may know" She giggled shyly.
"Nowhere special" He let his back fall to the bed, his feet hanging loosely "I was thinking about our talk last night"
Sasha's stomach jolted.
"Wha-why?" He sat back again, his eyes only focused on hers.
"To be honest" He shrugged "I'm not sure why" Sighing he rested his head on his hands.
"Are you feeling better today?" At moments like these, Sasha knew it wasn't necessary to call him sir.
"I certainly am" A sigh escaped from his mouth for a second time while he raised his head "It's just a strange feeling. It's"
"A hole in your stomach" She interrupted him and smiled kindly at him.
"Yes"
"It's a normal thing" Sasha sat next to him "But you'll stop feeling it. Of course you already know about this"
"It hurts to say that I do" Without a second of hesitation Sasha started to rub his back softly.
"Why are you doing this?" He asked frowning at her. Her hand stopped immediately.
"I'm sorry" The bright pink returned to her cheeks. As a sign of embarrassment she lowered her head.
"I just asked why" He grabbed her injured hand "I never told you to stop" She chuckled.
"Well, I like to be cheered up whenever I'm upset" She started to rub his back again "Sir, you didn't say why are you here" She just wanted to know the reason of his visit.
"Well, I like to be cheered up whenever I'm upset" A little smiled appeared in his lips, causing Sasha to chuckle.
"You're smiling" She whispered to herself.
"I know" He whispered back.
They stayed quiet for some minutes. Her hand still on his back. Sasha seemed very calmed on the outside but in the inside she wasn't. Her stomach had a funny feeling, she wanted to get to know the corporal more. And, of course, she was wondering how the corporal was feeling about all this.
"I have to go" He took his time to stand up. Before he stepped outside her room, he turned around to face her.
"I'm sorry about your hand, Sasha"
"No problem, Levi"
At the sound of his name coming at out of her lips, his eyebrows raised. He knew that it had been an impulse what had made her call him by his first name, but her face didn't show any kind of regret, and he was sure she wasn't going to apologize.
"Just don't call like that in front of others" He finally stepped out and closed the door.
Sasha smiled to herself.
Before she was able to stand up and leave her room, her door opened again. It was him again. He walked towards her, and-for Sasha's delight- sat right beside her, without a gap between them. His hand traveled to the inside of his jacket, moving it around he took out a small bag full of pomegranate. Sasha smiled, just like Levi had been expecting. He opened the bag and handed it to her.
"I thought you'd like them" He took some into his mouth. Sasha folloed him.
"They're really good" She said, while some of it still splashed inside her mouth.
Thinking of what Hanji had said to him, he opened his mouth to say something but nothing came out. A grimace appeared on his face as he tried to remember exactly what she had told him. Just thank her and be nice to her, show her that you appreciate her, that she already means something to you. He swallowed and opened his mouth again. This time Sasha turned her head to see his; He hadn't said a word but he had made a sound. Her gaze was heartwarming, at least that was what he thought.
"Thank you, Sasha" He scratched his neck
"Thanks you too" She smirked to herself again "Levi"
