Hello my dear fandom! I am so sorry I haven't updated in, well, forever, but my life has been hectic. Hopefully this chapter will be good enough to make it up to you. Well enjoy!
A New Beginning
Chapter2
The next morning Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg were eating breakfast in the common room. Beast Boy and Raven were talking and laughing quietly at Beast Boy's stories. Raven was having her normal herbal tea and having a pancake that Cyborg made while Beast Boy had a tofu omelet. It was a normal start of the day like all the others, until Cyborg brought up their special guest.
"So what do you guys think we should do about Terra?" The other too looked at each other and shrugged. Just then Robin and Starfire walked in hand-in-hand.
"Morning team, how's everyone doing?" Robin asked as he and Starfire sat down. Everyone answered with a cheerful good and smile as the other two got their breakfast.
"Raven, do you want to go to the mall with me later on?" Starfire asked and sat down next to her friend. Raven smiled and nodded, starting to talk with Starfire about what they would do at the mall. Beast Boy got up and went into the kitchen to talk to the boys.
"So what were you guys talking about before we walked in?" Robin asked.
"What we should do with Terra, should we really trust her?" Beast Boy sighed as he washed everyone's plates.
"That's what I've been thinking over all night, and I think it's a matter we need to discuss as a team." Robin said and they all turned their attention to him, waiting to hear what he had to say. Everyone sat down, Beast Boy slid back into his seat next to Raven followed by Cyborg and Robin. "I am sure we are all wondering about our latest… predicament, and that is whether we can trust Terra or not."
"Why should we? She completely ignored our offer to give her a second chance the first time and when she started to lose she got scared and ran off. If we let her back in again I can only assume something bad will happen again." Raven said and crossed her arms.
"I agree with Raven, but we also can't forget the fact that she did save the entire city from a volcano." Starfire said as she looked around the table at her friends.
"But how do we know she won't try some else? She could be even more dangerous than the last time we saw her." Beast Boy pointed out.
"How about this, we let her stay with us for two months and if any of us has any suspicions then we talk about it and tell her it won't work out. Does that sound good?" Robin said, finally coming to a decision. Everyone looked at each other and nodded. They were about to decide further options they would do with Terra when the girl herself walked in.
"Hey guys, how'd everyone sleep?" She said with a bright smile. They all smiled and replied with 'good', but no one really paid attention. Cyborg got up saying he had to work on the T-Sub; Robin went off to look over the police reports, while the rest of the team stayed at the kitchen table. Terra sat down next to Beast Boy, making sure to sit very close, and smiled at everyone. "So what are we talking about?"
"Um, just talking about we're doing today." Beast Boy said awkwardly, trying to slide away from her.
"Oh cool, so what exactly are you guys doing for today?" Terra asked she took a bite from her breakfast.
"Raven and I are going to the mall later today… do you want to come with us Terra?" Starfire smiled meekly while looking at Raven from the corner of her eye and saw Raven was glaring at her.
"You don't have to if you don't want to." Raven said through her teeth, still glaring at Starfire.
"Well I was actually hoping Beast Boy and I could go out and do something. What do you say Beast Boy?" After that question, the green robed monster in Raven's mind started to poke through, jealousy was starting to throw a mini tantrum seeing Terra be so openly affectionate towards Beast Boy when she never could. Beast Boy looked at Terra, who was waiting patiently and hopefully for an answer, sweat trickled down his forehead and he rubbed his neck awkwardly.
"Um, I can't today, I already have plans." At this she gave him a curious look, then her gaze met Raven's and she glared at her.
"And what exactly are those plans?" Terra asked, still sending Raven a death glare.
"Uh, I… I'm hanging out with Cyborg and Robin today. While the girls have their 'girl's day' and go shopping, we're having a 'boy's day'. Yea we're going to play video games and work out in the gym. You know manly things." He said as he flexed his 'muscles' in Raven's direction, which she rolled her eyes and Terra fumed at. "So I can't hang out with you today Terra, sorry." He said and got up, walking out of the room.
"Its fine," She mumbled, then shook her head and smiled at Starfire. "Well I guess I can go to the mall now, I'll go get ready." She then got up and left to go to her room.
"Maybe we should get ready too." Starfire said and quickly got up, trying to avoid Raven's wrath.
"Wait right there Starfire, why did you invite her to go shopping with us?" Raven stood up and crossed her arms angrily.
"We all agreed we would give her a chance and see what she's like. How can we do that when no one wants to be around her? I thought if I invited her it will give us a chance to see if she can be trusted or not, it is what you would call… a test?" Starfire said as the two girls came close to their rooms.
"Yea, I get it. But I'm not happy about it." Raven grumbled as Starfire went into her room to get ready, Raven soon coming to her own room to do the same.
A few minutes later the two girls met up again and walked to the common room together. Starfire was wearing a pink, long-sleeved shirt, washed out jeans with a maroon leather belt and a cream colored scarf with matching heeled-boots. Her hair was tied back into a low pony-tail with her bangs escaping and light make-up, consisting of a darker shade of pink eye shadow that blended well with her skin, mascara, and light pink lipstick.
Raven lately, with the help of Starfire, has been more into fashion then she was a couple years back. Today she wore a black tank-top with silver jewels around the neckline and a blue jacket that reached her hips, with dark skinny jeans, blue heels, and a half blue half black bracelet Beast Boy got her for Christmas. Her hair was longer now, reaching just above her shoulders, was down and parted to the left. She had dark blue eye shadow on that normally would look trashy but made her eyes pop, black eye liner, and lip gloss.
Now they were just waiting for Terra, who was taking forever in Raven's opinion. "Where is she? It didn't take us that long to get ready and she left before us." Raven said.
"Patience, she's probably on her way right now. What's with you lately anyway? You haven't been this grumpy in a long time." Starfire said as she leaned against the back of the couch. "Does this have anything to do with her and Beast Boy's past relationship?"
"Relationship, please don't make me laugh. They went on one date and that was only because she couldn't be there when Slade's minions attacked us." Raven huffed.
"Still, it's one more date than you and Beast Boy have ever been on." Starfire pestered. Raven turned around was about to yell at Starfire when the people they were talking about came in. Beast Boy looked so uncomfortable while he listened to Terra ramble on and on. Then noticing his other team mate's he grinned.
"Hey, Terra was just telling me how you were going out today. Sounds like fun, it's a shame us guys are missing out on it." He said as he pushed Terra to Raven and Starfire's side. "Wow Rae, you look awesome." He said looking her up and down, which in turn made her blush. Terra saw this and immediately became livid.
"Well how do I look Beast Boy?" Terra asked desperately wanting his attention. She was wearing a plain purple, V-neck t-shirt, super dark skinny jeans, black all-star sneakers, and a jean jacket. Her hair was down in its normal style and if you looked closely you could she was wearing a light sun colored eye shadow with hints of mascara and nude colored lip gloss. She looked like she was having a casual day outing, and in fact, she was.
"You look, uh, cute?" He said unsurely. Terra beamed at him then looked at Raven from the corner of her eye and smirked. 'I got cute and she got awesome. When a boy says someone looks awesome, it's normally a friend saying it to another friend. What was I thinking? There's nothing between them.' Terra thought to herself, mentally grinning like a maniac.
"Well we should get going, who knows how long we'll be gone." Starfire said as she and the other two girls walked out, Beast Boy waving goodbye.
"Um, aren't we taking the T-car?" Terra asked as they got outside and Starfire and Raven started to fly.
"No, first Cyborg never lets anyone drive his car but him. And second, why do that when Raven and I can fly and you can move the earth?" Starfire said hovering in the air.
"I just thought we would want to look normal but hey, super powers are fine too. And I have to say Starfire, you're English has really gone far these past few years." Terra said, as she summoned a large boulder from the shore and hopped on it, the three of them making their way to the mall.
"Thank you Terra, everyone on the team has been helping me." Starfire looked over to Raven and smiled at her.
They got to the mall in half the time it would by car, happy to see that it wasn't too packed. As they were walking a few people recognized them but didn't make too big of a scene. "Ok, which store are we going to first?" Terra asked excitedly, looking around. She never did get to go to Jump City's mega mall before she was turned to stone.
"I need more perfume and I wouldn't mind a few new outfits. Let's head to Bath and Body Works first." Starfire said as she led the way. "I want to find a new fragrance that Robin would like, he says he likes everything I have but I want something different." Starfire said and went to the first table.
"Well what kinds of scents does he like?" Raven asked as she picked up her favorite perfume bottle.
"Hm, he likes nature so anything in that aspect would be good." Starfire said thoughtfully, looking at more perfumes.
"You mean something like Dancing Waters or Beautiful Day?" Terra asked, coming up behind them. Starfire smiled and nodded, going deeper into the store. Terra watched Starfire leave and when she couldn't see Starfire anymore, she turned around and gave Raven a dirty look. "So Raven, what are you shopping for? Or is there a possible special someone you're shopping for like Star?"
Raven turned and looked at her weirdly, raising an eyebrow. "Um, no, just shopping for myself, that's all."
"Aw, that's too bad. I'm going get something special Beast Boy would like." Terra smirked and walked around Raven. "But I don't know what he likes; do you have any idea Raven?" Raven thought about how Beast Boy once told her he loves the scent of sweet things. But she wasn't about to tell Terra that.
'Why would I? That would just help her get closer to him and I'm not about to help her get a date with my ma- friend. My friend, he's just my friend.' Raven thought, slightly blushing. Lucky for her Terra was too busy checking out the products to notice. "No I don't, you'll have to figure it out yourself." Raven said walking over to where Starfire was.
"Hey Raven, what are you shopping for?" Starfire asked as she looked through the body wash.
"Just my normal stuff, you know how I like the sweeter scents." Raven said as she picked up a few items.
"Ah yes I do, I also know another friend of ours that like sweet fragrances, perhaps a male friend. But what I don't get is you just told Terra that you didn't know what our friend likes, which we both know is a lie." Starfire said as she smirked at Raven, who was starting to turn a cherry red.
"I don't have a clue on what you're talking about Star." Raven said and walked away.
"Oh, of course you don't Raven." Starfire said smiling and laughing slightly. A few minutes later the three of them were on the check-out line, talking quietly. "Terra, what are you buying?"
"Well, I'm getting the Coral Reef and Coconut Lime Breeze shower gel and the P.S. I Love You and Sexy Dahlia Rush perfume." At the questioning looks she got Terra explained. "The shower gels are a few of my favorite fragrances and I thought the perfumes could spark a little romance between a certain someone and me." Terra winked at them, while they gave her uncertain looks. "And what are you two buying?"
"I am buying the Summer Escape and Beautiful Day shower gel and also the Forever Sunshine and Pure Paradise perfume. What about you Raven?" Starfire asked turning to look at the girl.
"I'm just getting my favorites. Black Amethyst and Dark Kiss shower gels, Be Enchanted and Secret Wonderland perfumes, and just to try it, the relaxing Lavender Chamomile shampoo and conditioner." Raven said as she went up to the cash register. Starfire came up behind her and whispered in her ear.
"Those perfumes smell pretty sweet. I'm sure a certain friend of ours will like it very much." Starfire winked at her as she walked to the other cash register. But unfortunately, Terra had overheard them and was not happy. 'I can only assume Starfire was talking about Beast Boy. Ok so maybe there is something going on with him and Raven. But not for long if I can help it.'
After about two and a half hours of shopping at Hot Topic, Wet Seal, Francesca's Collection and a few other stores, they finally went to the last store they wanted to go to for the day, Rue 21. They were having a good time as they happily spent their money on a bunch of new clothes and accessories, but Terra's pouty mood and secretly plotting to split Raven and Beast Boy apart did put a damper on things.
Starfire bought the new outfit she wanted, a purple V-neck tank-top, black skinny jeans, and purple open toed shoes that had a ribbon at the end of the shoe. She also bought a periwinkle dress that went to her knees and had flowery ruffles that went from her right shoulder to her left hip.
Raven bought a black leather jacket, and a silver ring with a blue and purple swirled jewel in the center. She also bought a silver dress with black, glittery roses on her chest and upper stomach, then the dress ended at her knees in a poofy skirt, and matching heels.
Terra bought sleeveless white tube-top with black polka-dots and black lining around the hem and neckline, simple blue jeans, and matching black hoop earrings and black flip flops. Along with a spaghetti strap dress, the chest area was all black then under her breasts was a big black bow that tied at the front, and then the rest a light salmon color that ended in fringes at her mid-thigh. To match the dress she bought black strap heels. She was hoping she could use all of the things she bought to get Beast Boy's attention and get a date with him.
Now they were heading to the last store to browse, hopefully get a few new shirts. When they got in, like the rest of the mall, it wasn't too crowded. The person behind the cash register was playing on her phone, looking like she would fall asleep at any minute. When the bell above the door rang she looked up and smiled instantly when she saw who they were. They smiled back and waved.
"Welcome to Rue 21, we're having a two-for-one special, buy any shirt on the stands and get another one free. It's really nice to meet you, if you need any help just come ask me." The girl said excitedly, grabbing her phone to probably text someone.
"I'm going to go look at the shoes, be back in a sec." Starfire said and went to the other side of the store. Raven was about to follow her, but Terra grabbed her arm and pulled her towards a corner of the store, rather roughly.
"What the hell are you doing?" Raven snapped, yanking her arm out of Terra's hold.
"I just wanted your help in picking out some shirts, it's a two-for-one deal and I can't let that go to waste." Terra said snootily. Raven looked at her strangely then rolled her eyes.
"Star's the fashion expert, if you want someone's opinion you should ask her." Raven said and was about to turn around until Terra grabbed her wrist.
"But I want you to help me, think of it as some bonding time. I want us to be friends again don't you?" Terra asked.
"I…I guess." Raven said as they both made their way to the shirts.
"Good and I also wanted to talk to you." Terra said, getting Raven's attention. "I've seen some things going on around the tower that got me interested. You and Beast Boy have gotten really close while I was gone, wouldn't you say? So close that some people might say that you two like each other." When she said this, Raven got the idea of where this conversation was going.
"And what's your point?" Raven asked bitterly.
"Well I'm your friend and I don't want you to get hurt. So as your friend I'm going to give you some advice. Stay away from Beast Boy, he's mine." Terra snapped. Raven looked at her and glared. "Don't you see Rae; he only became closer to you because I wasn't there. He's replacing me with you, but now that I'm back, he's going to come back to me and you'll just end up getting hurt in the end. None of us want right? So I'll say it again, keep your man-stealing paws off of him and we won't have any problems." And with what she wanted to say said she stalked off.
Raven glared at her retreating form, not liking that she was just threatened. Starfire walked over, looking back and forth between the two girls. "Raven, what happened?" She asked worriedly.
Raven thought about telling her what happened, because if she did then the rest of the team would know and kick Terra out. But it was her word against Terra's. And yes the team trusted her more than Terra but they also knew Raven didn't like the other girl and if she told the team what happened Terra could turn around and say she didn't do anything, which could get Raven kicked off the team. Too many emotions were going through her head. Worry, Anger, Fear, and Frustration were saying a bunch of things all at once that she was starting to get a headache.
"Raven, did she do something?" Starfire asked again, about ready to beat Terra into a big ugly bruise if she did do or say something to Raven.
"No, nothing happened. Look I'm going to wait outside for you guys, when you're done let's head home, ok?" Raven said but didn't wait for an answer. Starfire looked at her confused and worried, but she nodded none-the-less.
After about five minutes Starfire and Terra walked out of the store and flew off with Raven back to the tower. They got to the common room and saw the boys were there, playing video games as usual. Starfire pranced over to Robin, who was just watching as the other two played, and sat down next to him giving him peck on the cheek. Once Beast Boy realized she was back he looked up and looked for Raven, only to find Terra standing in front of him, about to sit next to him.
"Hi Beast Boy, did you have a fun guys day?" Terra asked as she scooted closer to him. Cyborg and Robin gave him questioning looks as to what she was talking about and he laughed nervously.
"It was good, but we pretty much did this all day. So where's Raven?" He asked still looking.
"Who knows? Well me and Starfire had a great time didn't we Star?" Terra asked giggling at Starfire, who looked at her like she had two heads. Raven and Starfire mostly talked and laughed while Terra was silent and pouty the whole time.
"Raven didn't have a good time? What did you make her buy a bunch of skirts and girly things again Star?" Beast Boy asked while the other two boys chuckled. Starfire rolled her eyes and stuck her tongue out.
"No, not this time, and she had a great time. She's probably in her room; she said she had to meditate for a while." Starfire said, silently telling Beast Boy something was wrong and he should go talk to her. Beast Boy nodded and got up, making his way to Raven's room, making Terra seethe with anger.
Raven was in the middle of making sure her emotions were in check when there was a knock on the door. 'Who the hell could that be? The only people I can think of are Starfire, Terra, and Beast Boy... crap'
"Hey Raven, are you in there?" Beast Boy asked, proving her thoughts and making her think of Terra's threat. Should she tell Beast Boy? He would believe her, right? She went to the door and opened it fully, a small smile on her face. "Hey, you didn't come in the living room with Star and Terra so I got worried. I thought something had made you upset and I wanted to check that you were alright."
"Well you thought right, something happened at the mall that got me worried and upset..." At this he looked at her even more worried and she shook her head. "But I meditated and everything's alright now, nothing to worry about."
"Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything and I'll help in any way I can." He said and she looked down, unsure. "Was it Terra? Did she do something? Please tell me." She was actually really surprised that he guessed right so quickly. She thought about telling him, but then he'd tell the rest of the team and they would start asking and probably wouldn't believe her. It wasn't worth it, she decided, she'll just keep it a secret and if it got worse then she would tell.
"It's nothing, I promise. Besides, it's my word against hers so it's not even worth it." Raven said and he was about to retort but she stopped him. "If anything happens I'll tell you, ok? She just said something that got me upset but nothing we should get worked up about."
"Well, ok. But if she says something that makes you upset again tell me, even if it's not a big deal. I like talking to you." He said and smiled. She smiled and looked down, so he wouldn't see her blush. "Oh, before I forget!" He said and pulled a small white box out of his jean pocket. "I got this for you the other day, but with all this stuff happening lately I forgot about it. I hope you like it; I saw it and thought of you so I thought you should have it."
She opened the box and saw a necklace sitting inside. It was a silver crescent moon with a swirly design it the frame, and a small circle was attached next to the moon, it was blue and had small stars that shined in the light. She beamed up at him, holding the necklace close. "I love it, thank you Beast Boy." She said and gave him a small hug. "Can you help me put it on?" She asked and he nodded.
He took the necklace from her and unclasped it. She turned around and he put it on her, making sure it was securely on her neck. She turned back around and smiled again, which he returned. "So do you want to play a video game or read something?" He asked and she nodded. They made their way back to the living together, talking and laughing about silly things.
Around the corner, a young blonde girl ranted furiously in her mind. 'Apparently she doesn't understand a simple threat. And what the hell, he gave her a necklace? The only thing he ever gave me was a little heart shaped mirror. But nothing romantic like jewelry! So it seems I have to do more than threaten her to get her away from Beast Boy, ok I can handle that. It doesn't matter because in the Beast Boy will be mine.'
Ta-da! Ok I really hope this chapter made up for dropping off the face of the earth. I think it did, I mean this a lot longer than I was originally going to make it. I mean this chapter alone is over four thousand words, without the author's notes. So I hope this is good for everyone because I liked how it came out. Anyway, I have to go update other stories, hopefully I can update again soon but please don't rely on that. But I love you guys either way, happy reading and happy school year.
