A/N- This was a pretty fast update, wasn't it? Ah well, consider it me making it up to you for the long hiatus =). Enjoy!

DISCLAIMER- I own nothing you see/recognize in this story (with the exception of the particular species of monster included in this story =P).

Chapter 6

Adam

I'd been asleep for maybe five minutes before my band came barging in. They were still arguing, but not about whether we should've helped Leon or not.

"I say we continue the tour as normal. No rescheduling or repeat performance here," spat Brad.

Barry argued, "Fans spent money that can't be refunded for this concert. In all fairness, we have to have a repeat performance and rescheduling."

"Shut up, you two. Adam's asleep," Neil hissed. "You know he hates being woken up by arguments."

"Don't bother," I sighed. "I'm already awake."

"Sorry, Adz," Brad apologized.

Don't worry about it," I said.

Neil grinned. "I saw Burnley in here earlier. Want me to egg his bus?"

I shook my head and sat up. The other three looked tired and Brad still seemed afraid.

"The rescheduling thing we can't do anything about. Stu would have too many lawsuits to deal with if we didn't," I stated.

"If that thing shows up tomorrow, I'll put a drumstick in its eye," Neil gloated as he tossed a drumstick into the air with his right hand and caught it with his left.

Brad smacked the back of his head playfully. "My bass didn't put a scratch on it. I doubt it'll even realize you're hitting it."

"Drumsticks sound really good right now," piped up Barry. "Anyone else want fried chicken?"

I replied, "Yes. Chicken sounds great!"

"Cool. I'll go get some. Anyone wanna come with me?" Barry asked.

"I'm game," Brad replied. "We goin' for the subtle way or the obvious way?"

"Subtle. We're walking," Barry answered.

"Let's go then! I'm starving!," whined Brad.

"You're not the only one," I said.

Brad and Barry laughed as they made their way to the door. Neil chuckled quietly and I rolled my eyes. Before they could leave, however, the door opened and a beautiful young woman walked in.

She was about 5'8" or so, with long red hair streaked with black held back in a ponytail. Her eyes were cerulean blue with green flecks, which stood out in contrast to her pale skin. She wore a tight red tee shirt with 'Angelic Devil' written across her stomach and dark blue jeans. Her boots were black with red stripes.

She looked around curiously before her eyes settled on me. Her stare caused me to feel self-conscious and made me wish I was wearing favorite black leather jacket. I stood up and met her gaze evenly.

"Hello," I said.

She cocked her head to one side, but didn't say anything.

"You here to meet the band?" I asked.

She blinked slowly and remained silent.

"Ummm…okay? I'm Adam Gontier, the lead singer," I told her.

Suddenly her gentle gaze turned violent as she righted her head. She brought a hand to her mouth and whistled loudly. A crash sounded behind me and I spun around. The beast from before stood in the back of the bus, snarling angrily at me. Its right eye was still bleeding profusely.

'This night couldn't possibly get worse,' I thought as I backed away from the monster.

I heard a quiet, feminine laugh ring out behind me. Three nearly silent thuds followed suit. When I turned to face the woman, I saw my bandmates lying motionless on the ground. For a second, I thought they were dead. Then I realized that all three were still breathing.

"What do you want?!" I shouted at the woman.

The beast behind me roared and she simply said, "You're dangerous, Mr. Gontier. You must be terminated."

The door burst open then, surprising both the woman and myself. Leon stood there and, when he saw the redhead, his eyes widened.

"Claire?" he asked.

She glared at him and said, "You shouldn't be here, Kennedy. But three birds with one B.O.W isn't too bad."

The monster roared once more. Instinctively, I crouched down. The thing flew over my head and crashed into the woman.

Leon charged into the wolf-beast. His momentum threw both of them into the tour bus wall. The woman sat up and withdrew a very sharp knife. She took careful aim at Leon, but before she could throw it, I bowled her over. We struggled for possession of the knife for a moment, but after I pinned her arm under my leg I won control of it.

"Adam, destroy the blinking thing on her shoulder!" Leon shouted.

Upon closer inspection, I saw that she had a silver spider-like thing on the back of her left shoulder. It had a blinking red light in the center, where the eight legs of the device met. I took the knife and stabbed the blinking light, being careful not to harm the woman. The device shattered and fell off her shoulder. She immediately passed out.

Leon warned, "Adam, watch out!"

His warning came too late. The creature rammed into me and we both rolled through the door. Several shouts and screams ensued when the beast was seen by others.

"What the hell is that?!" I heard Ben scream.

I managed to slip away from it, but before I could stand up, the thing's front paws curled around my neck and lifted me up. The harder I fought the tighter its fingers squeezed. Eventually I couldn't breathe, and the maniacal grin on its face was the last thing I saw before I blacked out.

A/N- Heh, another cliffhanger. Don't be too mad, cause I'm gonna try to update again within the next week. As always, please review and tell me what I can improve on and/or what you liked/hated. I appreciate it!
