Author's note: Hey guys! Sorry, I know I'm one day late, but with all the exams I got last week I didn't have time to write and I started to read Divergent (finally) and I was so caught into the book I didn't realized what time it was so I'm awfully sorry, I'll try to be on time this week ^^

Disclaimer: I unfortunately don't own anything, characters are the property of those two guys named Edward and Adam…

Chapter 11: Time to meet your father

She was shocked. Frozen at her doorstep in front of the guy that left her eleven years ago. How did he find her? What was he even doing here? She slowly started to recover from her state when she heard his voice calling her name.

"What are you doing here?" she asked sharply.

"Can I come in?" he inquired and she glared at him "Unless you want to pick up a fight right here" he said and she let him in, not wanting to be on every magazine cover the next day.

"What are you doing here?" she asked him again.

"I've been looking for you" he said and she couldn't help but snap back at him.

"Oh yeah? Were you bored? Were you telling yourself 'hey it's been a long time since I haven't seen her, let's break her a bit more, shall we?'"

"Emma…"

"No, don't Emma me. In fact, you know what? It's good you're here, because I can finally tell you what I've wanted to tell you for all those years. You're a piece of shit! A fucking asshole! You left me with just a note! You left when I needed you the most! I loved you. God, I loved you so much. I put all my faith in you! I gave you everything! And you, you left me crying at your doorstep with nothing but a note. Do you know why I came to you that day? No, of course not, you weren't there! Do you remember that party after the finals? We were both drunk, but sober enough to know what we were doing. You know what happened then? I got pregnant. That's why I came to you that day. I was devastated. I wanted to talk to you. I wanted comfort. But you weren't there" Emma stopped and looked at him, it felt good to finally let it all out. He looked dazed and shocked and just a little hint of guilt was covering his face.

"Did you keep him… The baby?" he inquired after a few minutes?

"Yes, I did. And he's the only great thing you gave me. The only one. Now, I have one question for you. Why? Why did you leave?" she questioned in a hurtful voice, waiting for him to explain.

"I left for your own good. At least that's what I thought" he added when she scoffed. "I was a thief, a loner, a good for nothing. You were studious, ready to succeed, nice and honest. We had nothing to do together. I know you're going to tell me we could have talked about it, but I couldn't. So I chose the easy way out, not looking back. I'm sorry."

"Apologies non-accepted" she said icily.

"I believed you wouldn't" he told her quietly.

They stood silent for a while. Emma was still angry and now nervous, because Henry would be here anytime by now, then Neal spoke again.

"What's his name?"

"Henry"

"Does he know about me?" he asked hopefully.

"I've never lied to him, I couldn't" she said, playing with her necklace absently.

"You kept the key chain" Neal noticed with a small smile.

"Yeah, but don't get your hopes to high. It's only here to remind me never to trust again" she said and the smile on his face vanished.

"Can I meet him?"

"Neal…" Emma started but she was cut off by Henry storming into the room to the kitchen with a 'hey mom!', Ruby following him. She froze when she saw Neal and shot a confused look at her best friend.

"Mom" she heard Henry's voice "Who's he?" he inquired, but his mother just knew he knew.

"Henry this is Neal, Neal, this is Henry… Your son" Emma introduced them.

"Hey kid" Neal simply said.

"So, you're my dad?" he asked and he nodded "Why are you here?" he said and Emma had to suppress a laugh at the question.

"I wanted to talk to your mom"

"Hmm Hmm" Henry turned to Emma "Mom, do you think I can spend some time with him tonight?"

"Don't you have homework?" she wondered, but that was a formality. She couldn't possibly refuse him time with his father if that was what he wanted.

"Maybe he can help me with it?"

"Alright, fine" she smiled and ruffled his hair.

She watched Henry take Neal by the arm and dragging him to the table. Ruby came and dragged her to her room.

"Explanations?" she asked without letting Emma the time to open her mouth.

"What do you want me to say?"

"What the hell is he doing here!" she shouted.

"Shh" Emma told her "I don't know, he came. I didn't plan anything."

"What are you going to do?"

"I don't know. I can't think straight right now. That is usually what happens when your ex is at your doorstep after eleven years" she said ironically and Ruby chuckled "I can't kick him out… Not now Henry met him. Unless he doesn't want to spend time with him, but I hardly doubt that"

"What about you? I mean, you loved him… What if… You know, him being here, with Henry, brings you closer?"

"I couldn't go back with him… I…" she was looking for her words and Ruby took the opportunity to fill the blank with one single question.

"What about Killian?" What about him indeed. Emma had tried not to think about him too much. Tried to swallow those feelings that made her feel dizzy and good anytime she was near him. She looked up at Ruby and shrugged, her gesture saying she didn't care. But she knew better than that. "I know why you put an end to that deal. You know why you did" Emma sighed and collapsed on her bed dramatically and laughed. Laughed because everything was so messed up, so unbelievable.

"I feel like I'm in a teenage movie or TV show" she muttered into the pillow "And I'm twenty-seven!" Ruby joined her in her laughter and collapsed on the bed with her.

Back into the living room, Neal and Henry were silently doing his homework. Some questions like 'how are you doing in school' or else. Basics. But then, Henry asked a question, totally out of the blue and Neal coughed.

"Are you here to get my mom back?"

"No… I mean… I just…" he choked on words.

"Because she won't. Maybe she still loves you" at that, Neal smiled "But she's not in love with you anymore" ouch. That hurt.

"OK… Why do you say that?" Neal asked, trying to hide his offended state.

"Well I know my mom" he said emphasizing the "I". "She's in love with Killian."

"The guy she's filming with? They are not together anymore."

"Yeah. But that doesn't mean she doesn't like him" Henry said and went back doing his homework. No doubts he was Emma's son. He was his too. Biologically speaking.

"Listen, Henry" he started "I know I messed up with you mother. And I wasn't there for you or for her. But I'd like to get to know you, spend time with you" he said sincerely "I want to make up for lost times" Henry looked up and smiled. He was a little boy after all. Nearly a teenager, but still a boy and this boy wanted to get to know his father, even if the nearly teenager wanted to protect his mother.

Emma and Ruby came back and both guys were smiling at them. Henry grinning, and Neal smiling awkwardly. He got up and walked to Emma.

"Can I… Can I talk to you for a sec?" he inquired and Emma nodded "I'd like to know Henry better, I'd like to make it up for lost times… For both you and him. If you're ok with it. He does not seem against the idea"

"Let me talk to Henry first for what concerns him and let's talk about it after alright? Concerning me, I'm afraid it's too late and you know it Neal."

"Let's… Let's talk about it tomorrow? Over a coffee?"

"Sure… Let's say six p.m. at the Starbucks not far from here. If I'm not here, wait outside, I'll do the same" she told him.

"Thanks Emma" Neal smiled.

"Don't forget I do that for Henry. And so that it is clear in that little head of yours. You and I are over, understood?"

"Got it" he said and went to say goodbye to Henry before he left.

Emma had troubles sleeping that night. Neal coming back, the last day of filming the next day, Killian, Henry. Everything was a total blur and for the second time in her life, she didn't know what to do.
