CH33: Who's That Girl
I don't own any type of media related to HTTYD. I own, use, portray, and characterize my own custom OOC and OC.
Finding Healer Island wasn't as hard as I thought. Honestly this was the first time I had to find a specific island while riding Toothless. It was hard to get my bearings at first but eventually I figured to use the direction of the rising sun to grab our direction.
We landed in the forest, the scenery was nothing but deep snow and trees. Add in the quiet and the place became kinda bleak looking
"Lanie just checking but how do you plan to find this ingredient of yours?" It won't be easy with everything covered in snow.
"It grows at the base of high root trees near fresh water. That should narrow the location to search."
"So we just have to look under trees by the side of a stream or river. I take it back this could take a while. And you know what I still don't know what this plant looks like or even is."
"Hiccup, if you are anything like how Chapskin is with plants then you probably wouldn't know what to look for even with a description or picture."
"That's…. probably true." Without a picture and knowing what their use is most plants look the same to me.
And so began our walk along the frozen river. Fortunately the sun was up making the whole snowy landscape blindingly bright. Lanie walked close to the tree line crouching down occasionally to check and examine something.
Toothless stay by my side for a while but eventually he got bored and started jumping around the trees like a squirrel. "He's easily bored isn't he."
"Yeah, he really doesn't like it when I do things he can't do or that make me ignore him."
"Sounds like he needs a hobby."
"He has one actually. Hey buddy, if you're that bored why don't you draw a bit? I'm sure you'd like to keep drawing her, right?"
He gave a rude snort at my suggestion. 'And give you more reason to give me grief about that? As if. But you are right I need something to do. I've been coped up and grounded for so long all I can think about right now is wanting to do something, but I don't know what.'
"Girl?"
"Toothless has a dragon crush, but he doesn't want to admit it."
"So how do you know it's a crush?"
"Trust me he's got that girl stuck on his mind. She's a Nadder we helped escape from Berk when we left. He's been drawing her picture ever since whenever he gets the chance."
"How cute."
"I know. When I pointed it out to him he freaked. His head says no but his heart and mind say yes."
"Sounds like humans aren't the only ones who have romantic issues."
"Honestly I don't know anything on dragon courtship but from what I get from Toothless is any indication; it's not that different from us. When you got it you got it bad."
"When you say it like that and remembering that dragon storehouse, makes you wonder the full extent of dragon life."
"It might be better to consider it something more like an independent but connected society."
"How do you mean?"
"I think it's similar to the tribes in the Archipelago. They probably live separated in their own nest but use Dragon Island as a meeting or gathering place when they find that it's time to plan and spearhead their raids. I think it's that way because I don't think Dragon Island is big enough to accommodate the sheer number of all the dragons out there, so each species probably has their own island that best suits their individual species needs. Each dragon has different needs of food, territory, and whatever other accommodations each dragon species could need."
"That's quiet the analysis."
"I've had plenty of time to think about it, and lots more to still learn. That sort of knowledge and information will be the best tool to try and change anything."
"You certainly could not face such a daunting task with conventional Viking means. Even the strongest Viking could not face a raid without the support of the rest of his village. Facing every dragon with force with only with Toothless is unfeasible, since you cannot fight. You will have to be unconventional to achieve anything. But you know if you convince some other island to see the way that you see it would go a long way to changing the status quo in the Archipelago. Eventually you would have to do that if you really wanted to create true peace between humans and dragons. You can't just change one side without changing the other. That's the only way to reach a peaceful resolution for everyone, one that will last."
"I know what you mean, and I know that's right. Even if I could do something about the dragons, it would mean nothing if the Viking keep trying to hunt them down on their own land like how they raid us. But dealing with Vikings requires a whole different skill set then working with dragons. Skill sets that I promise you I don't have at all. Specifically the ability to get people to listen to me for more than two second. I'm pretty sure that the number of people who have I can count off on the hands." I show her my hand and list off the names. "Gobber, you. I think that it….. Well maybe Ruffnutt when she found us, then again it's hard to tell whether she was actually listening or taking the time to sleep with her eyes open. Astrid might have heard me talk back then but she didn't really listen to anything I said."
"That cannot be everyone. What about Chapskin and the other teens in Grissgom? They listened to you."
"Concerning Chapskin and me, it's a little more complicated than simply listening. As for the other teens, you obviously know that Shazz argues more then she listens to most anyone, and the others only observe me like I'm some kind of rare animal to be watched for entertainment. Hopefully that passes but even if it doesn't it really doesn't matter."
"Why not?"
"Probably right after the wedding, I'm heading out. I don't intend to overstay my welcome. Already know what that leads to."
"You do not have to leave if you really don't want to Hiccup. If you really want to you could live in Grissgom."
"They may and I mean may accept me, and I'm not saying that with any certainty based on my experience cause earning acceptance has been near impossible for someone like me so far."
"I do not believe so. Acceptance is more achievable then you think."
"Yeah, sure. Well while I might be accepted Toothless will certainly not, and I don't plan on doing anything without him, especially live in comfort while hiding him like he was some shame or something. I did that on Berk and it was a horrible thing to do to him. Besides if I stay, Berk hunters will eventually come and if they think you are harboring us"
"They will wage war against us. You brought that up before. So let me ask, would be so bad to think that we will protect you when you are threatened? Protect you like one of our own."
"Protecting me is one thing, but it means nothing to me if you wouldn't do the same for Toothless."
"Do you think they would not?"
I look at her funny because she said something really ridiculous. "On the off chance you did forget, Toothless is a dragon, Grissgom is filled with dragon slayers. They don't mix well."
"What about convincing them to see things your way?"
"And that bring back the issue that nobody listens to me."
"You say that like it is a given."
"You say that like it's not. I know Chapskin was a village wimp and he had to give his arm to prove otherwise. I can't do the same to prove myself, because I don't think fighting to prove something proves anything, and also I'm afraid right now if I get hurt anymore I really will die."
"There's more than one way to prove yourself then fighting."
But it's the only way Vikings do. My own dad never looked or spoke to me until he thought I had become a great dragon slaying Viking like he is. So if anyone is going to be doing any convincing it won't be me. It's just not possible. My best weapons are my words and my mind, and in the face of true Viking stubbornness, is near useless. Effective at times but useless for the most part.
"I accepted it. Relations beyond just humanity. Like you did Hiccup."
"You're a healer Lanie, not a warrior. Warriors have a stubborn and unyielding mindset that allows them to push thru any problems with violence as their solution; it makes them stronger against their enemies the more stubborn they are to their tried and true methods. But people like you and I are different. Healers and inventors have to have a more free and flexible frame of mind to solve problems. Healing a disease or creating a new and better weapon means thinking outside the Viking box, think of things that would normally be considered 'for the weak'. We have to handle our problems with patience knowledge and a level of understanding. Otherwise we run the risk of hurting others. To rush at healing can kill the patient, to rush at inventing kills the person using the weapon because it's lack of quality can fail when most needed."
"It's a brawn vs brains conundrum."
"Yep. In their heads Vikings have no reason to change."
"So you would not even try? Try to change them, or try to have them understand?"
"They're the ones that will reject who me and Toothless really are. We're brothers. I don't want to deny that but I also don't what that to threaten him."
"It is still worth trying. And if we fail we can go with your original plan B from Berk."
"Lanie, at this point my list of plans have gone thru all 26 letters of the alphabet so now I'm doing double alphabet. So I'm probably up to plan A.F or A.G, I'm not too sure. And what's this we thing?!"
"Hiccup if you are going to be facing the world, you are not going to be doing it alone. Toothless agreed with me so we work together. Remember you are the one that brought up before that if Toothless is discovered I could be considered your accomplice and banished as a dragon supporting traitor. If that happens well running is what friends do with each other, right Toothless."
With a happy bark he nods to agree. 'If we're in this together were in this together. It's her choice, her free choice. We can't deny freedom, only advice against the danger. Besides Hiccup I feel your body will fall apart without someone capable of putting you back in one piece.'
"We'll see. I still think you shouldn't, it's a bad choice. By the way have you found anything?"
"Oh yes I already found the plant a while ago. I also found some mushrooms that I think may be good to use later."
"….How much 'while ago'?"
"It was around the time you were talking about dragon courtship."
"That was near the beginning of this! So what are we still doing walking the side of the river!?"
"Didn't you need to get used to your new crutch?"
You got to be kidding me, she's been rehabilitating me this whole time!
"Ok that's it we're leaving."
"We can't yet. I still haven't convinced you that getting that shark."
Hoping she wouldn't bring that up. "Ok Toothless let's!"
Toothless pounced on us and shoved us hard enough to throw us to the river. Luckly the ice doesn't break so we slid till we hit the other side. "Toothless! What are you! Huh?"
I look and see that Toothless was covering us with his wing and growling at something.
'It's him!'
I look at the spot Lanie and I was just standing and see several spikes sticking out of the snow. "That doesn't look good."
"Hiccup what happened?"
"I think we're being attacked."
Toothless stayed defensive over us. We look around to see the other attacking party but see nothing in the pure white background.
"Toothless how much trouble are we in?"
'Too much. Get on, let's run for now. I can't fight him like this. Not with you two here.' Toothless motioned for us to climb on.
"Come on Lanie let's get out of here!" We tried to climb onto Toothless but then several more spikes come and break the ice we were on dropping the three of us into the water. We aren't swept away by the current but we do become wedged between the ice.
'Get out of the water! MOVE!' Lanie and I struggle to get out but with only ice we can't get a grip to pull ourselves out.
I look over and see Toothless was gone, out of the water, and off into the woods to face our attacker.
Toothless knew that this could have happened but he really hoped that it wouldn't.
Especially now that he has not one but two humans to care for.
I ran deeper into the woods to at least get him away from Hiccup. "Hey Groundflyer! Listen up! I don't care what your beef with me is but leave it only at that. Don't involve the humans! Hey! Are you listening?!"
But he doesn't respond, he never responds. He only hides and attacks. I ran into the woods for cover but also to lead him away from Hiccup and Lanie. I feel he is nearby; he followed me and ignored the others.
"Look I know you want to settle this now, but I'm a little busy at the moment." I can't risk facing him now. It's not that I'm not confident that I can win but should anything happen to me, Hiccup and Lanie would be stranded here on this land. I'm not going to do that to them.
"If you want to fight that fine, but not now." I can't tell if he can't hear me or if he was just ignoring me, but it seemed he had no intention to back down. I could see his movement in the snowground and he continues to circle me from underneath the ground. I don't move as he surrounds me.
Typical tactics of his, corner and strike.
"Oh come on! I'll fight you but not now not here not"
"Without your brother? Unlikely. So get him. Him and the female tag along."
The fuck?! He….She? "A female?!"
"Insulting." That voice is defiantly a female Uverworlder. It was condescending laced with nastiness and a hint of excited playfulness.
"So you do talk."
"Get your brother. Then we can talk."
"We can talk this out. We don't need to do this now. Actually we don't have to do this at all!" Despite my words I tighten my battle primed stance. I'm more and more ready to fight the more he…she stays close.
"Has torture, captivity, and brotherhood weaken you so much? Or is it your United Tailfin?" Tad mocking with a hint of curiosity.
That is not good. Actually this is even worse than when she didn't talk. Just a few words and she has me psyched out bad. "What do you want?"
"Get you brother."
"This is between us. And apparently it deeper than I expected."
"Get your brother." I could feel her getting impatient underneath the ground.
"He's not involved!" I shoot a plasma shot in the direction I heard her. My shot hitting the ground; shouldn't have done so but she does explode out of the ground and shoots a volley of tail spikes at me which I avoid by flipping backwards high and landing on a tree branch.
I stay in the tree looking down at the Female Groundflyer who stares back. Knowing her gender now for some reason makes her look different. "Your flight is not necessary, simply desirable." She then fires a series of fire rings at my position in the tree. I leap and avoid the flames as it consumes the tree. Landing I release two shots which she avoids by burying herself and starts digging her way towards me.
I leap over and glide into the opening she made. Once in I see her at the other end of the tunnel and let out two strong shots. One hits square in her head the other she avoids by flying and digging up. I follow the tunnel till I reach a different opening which I jump out of. I had to quickly twist my body to avoid a firering blast which lands me rolling on the ground. As soon as I'm paws on the ground I'm tackled by her.
We grapple on the ground roaring, biting, slashing, and whipping each other as much as we can.
We keep struggling until I kick her away. Once separated we resume a battle stance facing each other.
"You earn you title NightFURY, but you prefer Toothless right."
"Tch Alright! That's it, enough of this! Who are you?! Your defiantly not"
"An Uverworlder? I haven't considered myself by that nomenclature in many years. Like you, the humans address me Whispering Death, but unlike you have no personal naming from a human family."
"Now I get it you're outlaw! A dragon not in royal service."
"Like you, yes. The only difference is that you're hunted and I'm not."
"Is that what this is about? You think I'm stepping on you tail by being the bigger target, or do you just want some quick skyway cred by taking me out?"
"Neither, Toothless."
She called me by my name. My name that he gave me!
She's not an Uverworlder in anyway. She's more like me than anything else. Using human terminology, no affiliation, and most of all she's a mystery in battle to her human enemy's.
And she knows things. Sensitive information type of things.
"After I disappeared off your radar when did you find me again?"
"I never lost you." She said this with such robust pride it made me feel like a fool.
You gotta be kidding me. "You don't really expect me to believe you knew where I was all this time and you never took the chance to do something? As if. So what's the real story? When did you find me that you were able to learn all that you know?"
"I never lost you. I saw it all, first hand Toothless. From the human releasing you to your training with your united tailfin to your escape with the others to your trips from land to land and up to this moment. I saw it all."
"Stop calling me that!" My question really stands. Who in all the Uverworld is she?
"Toothless!" Hiccup! He must have found us from the noise we were making.
"Whispering Death don't you dare!?" She's gone! I jump back to a defensive position infront of Hiccup and Lanie who were approaching.
"Toothless what's going on?" I could hear distress in his voice. At this point I don't care what she knows, how, or why. We're leaving now.
I motion for them to climb on so we can leave before she starts attacking again.
They do so immediately with Hiccup quickly hooking himself to the saddle. "Toothless go!" I blast to the sky. In seconds the island way past us.
As a volley of firering pasts us, we look behind us to see the Whispering Death giving chase
"Hiccup what is that?!" Lanie asks in fear.
"I don't believe it! It's a Whispering Death! But what's it doing chasing us?"
"Do you think Healer Island could have been its home?"
"No, if it was it would have already stopped chasing us now that we left. It's pursuing us!"
'Hiccup that's a great deduction but we still have the issue of being attacked midair.' I roar at him to fully focus on our tailfin. We start zigzagging at my highest speeds to make sure she doesn't get a clear shot at us.
Quick score, She's used half of her tail spikes and three shots worth of fire power. I've used five shots worth of plasma energy. She has more firepower then I have left. I got so mad and agitated that I wasted my power.
My max right now is seven shots. My number of shots depends on how much I've eaten in the past six hours, the more I eat the more shots I have up to my absolute max of 12 total. Damn, I should have taken a few more of those fish from the Queen's sea offerings. Even after I use up my shots I still have my short plasma cutter that I use to warm a bed.
I got two shots left. Better make them count.
She keeps chasing us slowly gaining on us. I'm moving fast but not my actually can't go full speed worried that Hiccup or Lanie might fall off.
"Toothless we need to lose that guy and I got an idea, but I need to know you can keep shooting?" Hiccup called out bolstering me to keep going.
I bark out twice to let him know "Two shots? And your bed thing?" I nod agreeing but it's to useless in combat especially at speed.
"Toothless go low! Skim the ice!" I do as he says without question. I fly low till I'm feet away from the ice.
"Keep flying and shoot the ice with your bedmaker, make a cloud cover!" I use my cutter on the ice to rapidly steam the Ice in a line to give use coverage.
Once I make enough to cloak us I land and kneel close to the iceground to try and stay hidden.
"Toothless now cut into the ice and make a hole so we can swim away." I do so and after hearing them take a deep breath and hold I dive in. I swim as fast as I can in the water to get as far as I can.
After less than a minute Hiccup pats me to tell me to surface. I plasma cut another hole and jump out. We got far but were still in view of the Whispering Death who sees us. "Toothless climb!"
I rush straight up. I feel Hiccup and Lanie hold tight to me to not fall off. I can hear the Whispering Death following behind.
"Almost….their…. Now Dive and Shoot!"
I quickly forward roll to face down and fly straight down. I could feel my passengers struggle and strain to hold tight. As I got closer I shot a dive enhanced plasma blast. She narrowly dodges but move out of the way for me to break past her. She quickly chases again.
"Toothless land on the ice once they get close sharp climb up and blow and bury that guy in the ice!" I roar in understanding of the plan.
I do so. As I reach the ground I land hard on my legs causing them to shake, buckle, and numb with the ice strain underneath me but as she got closer I push off one more time as she got close again flying past her but this time right above her I quickly turn and shoot directly hitting her with my full force and slamming her into the cracked ice and into the water.
I don't hesitate and fly as fast as I can to get away this time I don't see or hear her following.
"We're clear." Hiccup and I both exclaim in relief.
"Lanie you ok?"
"Once my heart goes back in my chest and MUuhhGhhagh!" Ghah! She threw up on us!
"Uhgu! It's in my hair! Ok, now are you ok?" She holds her hand to her mouth like she was going to blow again.
She's not throwing up on me again! I fly down and find ourselves at the queen's sea offering site. Once on the ground Lanie and Hiccup jump down to allow her to throw up on the ground.
She spends some time on her knees still trying to catch her accelerated breathing and some tears slowly rolled down her cheeks. Hiccup tries to help by rubbing her back and tried consoling her. "Sorry about that, I didn't think that that would happen. Probably not the best flight experience for someone who just got in the air. Just try to relax and breathe slowly."
While he does that I sneak some fish to try and regain some energy I lost in the fight and flight. I bring some to the jolted pair to try and help. "Thanks buddy, but how are you doing? You look like you got pretty scratched up by that guy."
I look at myself finally and see what he meant. Scratches and bite marks on my chest and legs. I'm lucky she didn't bite off the saddle rigging. If she did we'd have been stuck and forced to fight to the death. I should have been more careful.
'Brother this is probably the first time you don't get injured in a fight. You're doing better than Lanie and me at least.'
But I spoke too soon as he collapsed to his knees clutching his torso. He didn't look pained but rather bothered by whatever he was feeling.
'Hiccup!' I roar in concern. Lanie also looks over at us. I could see her pained formed face showed she really wasn't doing too much better but at least hers was just likely due to the sheer speed we were going at.
I didn't think about it before but human bodies really can't be used to that kind of speed. To the injured and unaccustomed must be really hard to really stay fine.
"Hiccup!" Lanie exclaimed in concern, but was cut off by Hiccup.
"I'm fine I'm fine. Just think I pushed it too far with that crazy flight." I see he was still holding his gut as he walked around with that new metal third leg.
"That reckless flying might have caused you more internal damage."
"I'm fine, really. Just… I think this might be a good chance to rest for a moment."
"Still let me check."
After carefully checking over Hiccups wounds Lanie sat down and leaned back on the body of the one of the large fish while still trying to even out her breathing. Hiccup sat next to her and Toothless next to him.
Hiccup was right, his wounds didn't reopen. Just felt that his wounds were slightly agitated to bleed a tiny bit. The bleeding had already stopped but he needed to change his bandages and stiches as they became loosened. My only worry was that blood might be pooling underneath the skin but that did not happen so he really was ok for the moment.
I will still tell him to fly much slower next time.
Me, I was not doing better than him. My breathing was still erratic and I felt light headed.
"Thank you, you two. I'm sorry but could I get a few more minutes?"
"Take you time. I need it too."
'Sorry to drag you into that.'
We stayed sitting for a while. It looked like it was actually around midmorning.
"Somehow we spent more time here then I intended." I told them.
"Don't worry. The unexpected happened so we're fine being late for lunch. We're excused on account of playing a little dragon tag." At least he still had strength to laugh it off and still think rationally.
The two of them work to wash out the vomit they had on them.
"Toothless stop it. I'll wipe you clean. You're only making it worse by doing that!"
'Are you kidding me it feels gross!'
"Stop complaining it's in my hair and I can't get it out." He whispered. Once they were cleaner I saw that Toothless was relaxing by eating some more fish from the fish yard we were in while Hiccup was chocking down my nutrient supplement potion.
"I'm very sorry for that Hiccup. I promise I'll help you clean up my mess. I'm so ashamed about doing that to you."
"Seriously don't worry about that. Just focus on getting back on your feet. You're a healer you should know that."
"Right." I choked out.
"Listen once you're up for it let's find a shark from here to take back for the dinner. Actually we're going to need more than one aren't we?"
"Hiccup you don't have to do that."
"Actually yes I do. Remember I need a present to bring to the wedding, what better than the bride's current object of tirade."
"What happened to 'stealing from the dragons is bad'?"
"Yeah Toothless already threw that out the window."
'Hey I'm hungry. Better this then what you're drinking.'
"Hiccup what was that all about?"
"I don't know. I want to say it was a territory dispute but I doubt that the case. First off if it was Whispering Death territory there would be more than one attacking and they would have stopped attacking after we left. Also since it's supposedly an island that other tribes come to for supplies I'm sure someone would have noticed it to be dragon territory."
'Yeah, no dragon would live there. It reeks too much of those bitter plants. But then again it was perfect for her to sneak up on us. The snow and smell blotted out her scent. That's why I never saw it coming.'
"Then what was it all about."
"Toothless?"
'I don't know how to tell you she's my rival.'
"You've never encountered it before Hiccup?"
"No. That actually was my first air battle with Toothless. Like I said before, I don't want to fight. But I'm not against protecting ourselves if I absolutely have to like we did just now."
"Well you did great."
"Thanks but I can't take the credit, Toothless did all the work."
"But you came up with the plan to stop him. That's a victory for both of you."
"Thanks. So are you feeling better?"
"Much. We should head back now. It should still be mid-morning when we get back, plenty of time to clean both of you up. Again I am very sorry about"
"Yeah don't worry about that." We all stand. I was unsteady and was now leaning on Hiccups shoulder. Hiccup with the extra weight used his crutch to stay upright.
"I am so sorry Hiccup, I could do nothing and it was even my fault that dragon came after us. If I hadn't insisted on coming here we would not have encountered the trouble."
'Don't worry about that. She would have come after me eventually. No, that's not right anymore, she would have come after both Hiccup and I eventually."
"Lanie don't worry about it. Now let's see if we can't find a good shark."
Embarrassing, shameful, and demoralizing. I was feeling terrible and not just my stomach and chest.
The escape flight was terrifying. Zipping around at those speeds made me feel as if I had lost all control of myself and anything I could do in the world. It was like watching a dream but having no effect to change it as it slowly turns into a nightmare. The fear tightened my chest so much that it felt like my heart was exploding and my lungs couldn't take in air and retain oxygen. And my body effectively protested, I had an increasing sick to my stomach feeling during the whole exchange, even as I wanted to vomit moving so fast made my body resist until we slowed down.
And of course I humiliate myself by vomiting all over Hiccup and Toothless.
I apologies several times more but Hiccup and Toothless brush it off as if it were nothing.
Because to them it was. They've already been in this situation before so they have been slowly becoming accustomed to it.
And now they are being kind enough to go with my other idea to take some of the fish back to Grissgom. Like they were apologizing for something they did wrong. They didn't, this was my fault, for being weak, in the way, slowing them down, and for selfishly bringing them out in the line of fire by bringing them here.
Worst of all before Hiccup who was still injured and has been leaning on me is now the one supporting me up as I was now weak in the knees from fear and physical strain. I promised to help him stand and now he's doing what I should be doing.
Failure, that's all I feel now.
I'm visibly shaken and Hiccup is just fine aside from his stressed wounds. I knew he was strong but he's might be even more mentally fortified then anyone I know, even Chapskin and Stickstone.
It all makes me regret my promise to help because it feels like I can do nothing in the face of such fortitude. Like I'm in the way and holding him back.
So now we are flying back to Grissgom with the selection of fish that we picked up. We were flying very slowly both to be safe with Hiccups wounds and because Toothless was carrying a large sheet holding two very large sharks plus a small wicker basket full of other small fish.
'Gha! I regret having the ability to fly now! This all weighs a ton! Gha I feel like we could go down any moment!'
Toothless was clearly unhappy with the very heavy load he had to carry.
"Lanie do you know a good place to land with all this?"
"Well there is a small waterfall deep in the forest. We can land there. We can use it as a place to clean up before returning into the village."
"Just point the way. It'll be a good place to hold this stuff before taking it into the village. Cause the only way we're going to get all this into the village is to get a cart to wheel it into the village."
Right I never thought of how we were going to bring it into the village without Toothless.
I was confident in being Hiccups ally but now I didn't feel that same strength. The flight scared it out of me.
"So how many more trips do you think we need Lanie?"
"What?"
"Trips. How much more do we need to go fetch to be enough for this dinner? And what's our cover story going to be about how we got all this?"
"Uhmm?" More details I didn't consider. We couldn't just say a dragon helped us take it from a dragon storehouse of refrigerated fish.
"I think this should be enough for tonight."
"And tomorrow? How much are we going to need for that after party thing? And are you sure this is enough? Don't we need enough for the whole village to enjoy?"
"Hiccup it's fine!" I don't mean to but I yell out at him.
"Ok ok. Don't need to bite my head off. I got this."
"I'm I'm sorry Hiccup. I didn't mean to"
"Forget it. Not like you didn't go thru something weird."
We reach the waterfall I suggested. Toothless drops the package and lands, or collapsed. We hop off but I could see he was deep in contemplation.
"What are you thinking about?"
"I'm worried about that Whispering Death."
"Didn't you already take care of it."
"Unfortunately I don't think that's the last we see of him."
'Far from it. She'll be back, and she'll be pissed. And she'll be even more ready to face us; and I mean US. She knows about you Hiccup, I'm worried about next time.' We see that Toothless had a lot of concern as we brought up that other dragon. I could see dread in his expression.
"Yeah that's another encounter I'm not looking forward to either buddy."
We were so focused on our own tension that we didn't pay attention to our surroundings. Like the private fire already burning and the clothe that were hanging over the flame drying them off.
Someone was already here and watched our entire landing.
"Ahhh? Ahha whha? Drarrdrrrdrraa ridditoopptattop?! Kah?"
Hiccup, Toothless, and I look at the observer after they made their presence known.
We three look in fear but my fear dropped completely when I noticed who it was. The most trusted secret keeper in all of Grissgom if not all of the Archipelago.
This was someone we could trust. But it seems we caught them at a bad time. They were bathing in the river.
"Oh thank goodness it's just you Kendra. Sorry we caught you in the buff like this."
"Uhhhuu. Y-yeah?"
"That's Kendra?! That's HER?"
"Uh? Y-yeah hey Hiccup."
"What the?! You have a penis!?"
