Chapter 16
~Thursday, July 25*18 Weeks*~
Loren: I think this room will be perfect for the nursery.
Loren said as she looked into the spare room next to their bedroom.
Loren: It's just the right size.
Eddie was standing behind Loren with his arms wrapped around her. Since finding out the sex of the baby he hasn't been able to keep his hands off of her. Knowing that she was having his baby was one thing. But actually knowing what they were having was a whole nother story.
Eddie: I think this room in perfect also. But don't you think we should move.
Loren: Move?
Loren turned around in his arms so that she was facing him.
Eddie: Yes move. Don't get me wrong I love our Penthouse. But do you really think this is a good place to raise a kid?
Loren: Your right. But when will have time to move? Sure we can start looking at places now. But when will we actually move. I'm staying here, you are leaving tomorrow morning to continue your tour. You will be busy with the tour and I really don't want to find a house and move all by myself.
Eddie: You wouldn't have to worry about anything Lo. I can take care of everything. We can hire movers and have my dad and Ian help. Now that Tyler is done filming his movie and back in town I'm sure he will help too.
Loren: I get that we have people who are willing to help but that's not the reason I don't want to move. Were you even listening to what I was saying?
Eddie: Yes you said lets not move now because you will get stuck doing all the work. Which why I said we can hire movers.
Loren:(frustrated) I get that we have people who can help us but that's not the point I'm trying to make Eddie.
Eddie:(frustrated) Then what point are you trying to make Loren, because clearly I'm just not getting it.
At this point Eddie's arms were at his side no longer around Loren. Both just staring at each clearly frustrated.
Loren:(taking a deep breath) You know what I'm not having this argument with you.
Eddie: Argument? What argument? I thought we were just talking.
Loren: Really Eddie? You really want to take that tone with me? I am in no mood to argue.
With that Loren walked past him and into their bedroom closing the door. Eddie just stood wondering how this day started off great and now it was taking a turn.
Later that evening Loren and Eddie went to MK to meet their family and friends. When they arrived and went in they saw everyone seated around the bar talking and having drinks. Once everyone saw Loren and Eddie come in they started asking what was the sex of the baby. They knew Eddie and Loren were suppose to find out today.
Loren: Well hello everyone its good to see you too.
Max: Hi. So boy, girl what are you having?
Nora: Hi sweetheart. It's a girl. I can tell just by looking at you.
Melissa: Yeah hey Lo. I agree with Nora its a girl.
Ian: No its a boy. Right mate?
Melissa: No Ian it's a girl. Right Lo?
Tyler: I have to agree with Ian on this. It's a boy.
Eddie: Whoa, everyone calm down!
Melissa: How can we? What is it? It's a girl, right? Right? Oh come on just tell us!
Ian: You just want it to be a girl so you can win the bet.
Loren: Mel! You made a bet!
Melissa: Relax Loren! It's just a harmless bet.
Max: Ok, ok! Everyone lets just all calm and let Eddie and Loren talk
Loren: Thank you Max!
Loren turned her head to look at Eddie
Loren: Do you want to tell them?
Eddie: No by all means you may.
Loren sighed and turned to face everybody. She knew they weren't on good terms right now but she at least thought Eddie would want to announce the sex of the baby with her.
Loren:(smiling) We're having a...
The girls were sitting at one of the booths talking about the baby and starting to discuss plans for the baby shower. While the guys stayed at the bar talking.
Ian: Ok mate what's wrong?
Eddie: What do you mean?
Ian: You know what I mean. You have been in a mood since you and Loren arrived.
Eddie: Nothing is wrong and I'm not in a mood.
Tyler: Ian's right man. What's wrong?
Eddie:(irritated) Nothings wrong.
Ian: You do realize we know you are lying. We know you and something is definitely wrong.
Eddie knew he lie to friends. They knew him more than anybody, well maybe not as much as Loren. Loren is the only one that could read him like an open book. She knew everything and anything about him.
Eddie: We had an argument. Well not so much of an argument but a disagreement.
Max: About what?
Eddie: We were looking at the spare room next to our bedroom and Loren was saying how that room would be perfect for the nursery.
Ian: You guys argued about the room
Eddie: No let me finish. We didn't argue so much about the room but about moving.
Max, Ian, Tyler: Moving?
Max: Moving where?
Tyler: Why would you move?
Ian: Yeah why move? You love your Penthouse.
Eddie: I do love our Penthouse but that's no place to raise a kid. What if we have more kids? We would need more space. I want to move into a house where all our future kids will have enough room without being crowded. A yard where they will run and play.
Max: So what's the problem?
Eddie: Loren doesn't want to move. I suggested we move now but Loren doesn't want to move now. She wants to put off. Loren said she didn't want to move on her own. I said we can hire movers and I told her you guys would help, so she wouldn't have to move on her own. Then she was like 'I get that we have people who can help us but that's not the point I'm trying to make Eddie'. I just don't get why she's so against moving!
Max: Oh Eddie.
Eddie: 'Oh Eddie' what? What did I do wrong?
Max: Eddie it's not that she doesn't want to move or the fact that she has to move things on her own.
Eddie: Then what is it?
Max: She pregnant Eddie. She's already alone during this pregnancy, while you are on tour. Moving to a new house and sleeping in a new house alone is something she doesn't want to do.
Eddie: Which is why I said we should move when my tour is over.
Max: When she's eight months pregnant? By then I'm sure she would want the nursery done and she will probably be tired all the time.
Tyler: Maybe Loren's right you shouldn't move.
Eddie: I don't know. We still have to talk about it. I really don't want to end this day like this. Today started off great and now its... it's not how I would have liked it to be.
After spending a couple of hours at MK and a dinner at Rumors with family and friends Loren and Eddie finally headed home. At home they headed to their bedroom. Eddie headed to use the bathroom while Loren changed into a plain white camisole shirt and some blue and white sleep shorts. Loren knew they needed to talk so she waited for him to finish for him to finish in the bathroom.
Eddie used the bathroom and changed into some black sweats and a white muscle shirt. He knew they had to talk, he just hoped Loren hasn't gone to sleep already. Walking out of the bathroom he saw Loren sitting Indian-style with her back up against the headboard looking down at her small baby bump, hands resting on top of her belly. Eddie walked up to the bed and laid down in front of Loren, propped up on his elbows, placing his hands on the sides of her belly. Leaning in he placed a soft lingering kiss on her bump. Then with barely removing his lips he started talking to the baby.
Eddie: Hey buddy! How you doing in there? Hopefully, not giving mommy too much trouble in there. I love you and your mommy sooo much! You and your mommy mean the world to me!
Eddie placed a kiss on her belly. Loren was looking down at Eddie with a small smile. She loved when he talked to the baby. Eddie got off his stomach and sat in front of Loren.
Eddie: Loren I'm sorry. I finally understand what you were saying. I get that you don't want to be alone in a new house and neighborhood by yourself. We can this you way
Loren: No Eddie. No more 'my way'. This about the future of our family and where we will raise our family. We have to come up with a compromise.
Eddie:(nodding) Ok a compromise. What do you have in mind?
Loren: No moving during pregnancy.
Eddie: Ok no moving during pregnancy. We have to move before he turns a year old.
Loren: Ok. Lets start looking at houses once he is six months old. That will give us some time to get use to having a baby around.
Eddie:(nodding) Ok. So no moving during pregnancy and we start looking at houses once he is six months. I think we having ourselves a deal Mrs. Duran.
Loren:(smiling) I think we do Mr. Duran. Lets seal the deal with a kiss.
Eddie smiled and got on his knees, gently grabbing the sides of her face and leaned in to kiss her. After 'sealing the deal' Eddie pulled away from Loren, keeping his hands on her face, he placed his forehead against hers.
Eddie:(whispering and looking into her eyes) Loren?
Loren:(whispering) Yeah Eddie?
Eddie:(whispering) We're having a boy
Loren:(smiling) We're having a boy!
Eddie nodded and had the biggest smile on his face. Kissing her once again. They ended the night by making love in between the sheets.
Happy Sunday! Sorry I didn't updated sooner. I've been thinking and I would really like your opinion. Should I just skip ahead in time during the pregnancy or should I keep at this pace.
