Tiger MIA, this is about Lucy and Natsu Part 2
(Natsu's POV)
Arnold and I, well, mostly me, supported Lucy in between us as we headed towards the kitchen. I followed my nose and was maybe rushing a little bit.
"OW! Natsu!" Lucy cried out.
"Papa! That hurt!" Arnold called rubbing his head.
I guess I got a little carried away at the prospect of food and turned a corner too fast slamming Arnold and Lucy into the wall. I slowed down a bit as we got closer to the kitchen.
"Yes! Food!" I kicked open the door.
"Natsu! This isn't your house or Fairytail! Don't go breaking other people's belongings or property!" Lucy scolded me.
"Aye sir!" I saluted Lucy and helped her into a chair. Then I got up and went to look for food. Arnold followed me leaving Lucy sitting at the counter in her pajamas. She looked so cute in them, and she doesn't even notice she's wearing them. I snickered a little.
"Natsu! Don't go looking through other people's cabinets and stuff!" She scolded me again.
"That's alright, we gave him permission." A new voice said from over by the slightly, slightly dented door.
"Hi Aunt Emily! Hi Auntie Christina!" Arnold chirped up cheerfully looking up from a cupboard.
"Hello Mrs. Chana and Miss Chana." I greeted turning away from the cabinet filled with cereal. I think cereal for dinner seems like an excellent idea. "Hey Luce, how about cereal for dinner?" I asked smiling.
"Luce?" She ignored me and introduced herself to the two ladies sitting down next to her.
"Luuuushi!" I whined indignantly, copying Happy, as she ignored me. Arnold laughed next to me.
"Mum's ignoring you."
"Shut-"I was about to cuss in front of a little kid. Oh shoot...umm..."Shut your…pie hole?"
He stood up and blinked at me. Then he started crying.
"LUCY!"I called out a little panicked. "LUCE!"
(Lucy's POV)
I glanced over at Mrs. Chana, Emily, I think, or was it Christina? They both look really alike. She noticed me looking and smiled kindly. "I'm Emily."
"O-oh right." I blushed, a little embarrassed about how I got her confused with her sister.
"It's alright, everyone gets us confused." Christina said next to me.
"Yea, even though I'm older by two years." Emily said with a small smile.
"You can tell us apart but out hair. My hair is shinier and I always keep it down. Her hair is less shiny, duller, and always tied up." Christina chirped next to me.
"Hey!" Emily leaned around me to glare at her sister, her brown eyes glinting slightly and I giggled. Emily stopped having a staring contest with her sister and focused her attention back on me when Christina flipped her black hair and went to go find the cook.
"How are you feeling?" She asked concern in her voice.
"LUCY! LUCE!" I turned at the concern tone in his voice to see a panicked Natsu holding a cereal book and a crying Arnold.
"Oh." I got up from the chair and winced a little from the pressure I placed on my left leg, but I ignored it and went over to where Arnold was crying. I knelt down in front of him and lightly grabbed his shoulders. "Hey Arnold, what's wrong?"
"Papa," he sniffled, "told me…to…shut...my…pie hole."
"Natsu." I scolded and looked up to see Natsu nervously scratching his head. Jeez, sometimes he can be a real idiot, when he's not being caring or angry. "Don't use that type of language to a seven year old."
"But Luce-"
"No buts. I don't want to talk to you." I turned back to Arnold ignoring the hurt look on Natsu's face and the uncomfortable feeling in my chest. "Hey Arnold, don't cry. Just think, tomorrow, me and Natsu will take you to a magic store. Then we could take you to a cake store and make it your cake hole, or a candy shop and make it a candy hole.
Arnold stopped crying and rubs his eyes. He giggled as I continued to name different things to call his mouth. "Come on, let's go eat some cereal with our cereal hole."
I reached around Natsu to get a box of cereal for Arnold and myself. Natsu leaned in closer, "You would make a great mom someday, Luce." He whispered in my ear. I blushed deeply and turned away completely missing him blush. Arnold, seeing us both blush panicked again.
(Emily's POV)
"Aunt Emily!" He ran over and started tugging on my shirt. "Mum and Papa have been doing that all day. They keep turning red. Do you think they're sick? Should we give them some medicine?" He asked looking up at me.
"It's ok. They're just accepting very, very nice complements from each other." I replied.
"Oh, ok."
"Lucy," I called out.
"Yea," she replied.
"How's the leg?" She looked confused for a second.
"Hmm…oh, it's alright. Slightly painful, but bearable."
"Alright, if it starts getting unbearable, let me know and I'll apply some medicine to it.
"Kay, thanks Emily."
I turned and walked out into the hallway bumping into Christina. She read my mind. {Not literally.} "Oh my god, they need help."
"I see what Marisol means, but we shouldn't force them to do something they're not ready for." I replied heading towards my studio. "Also, it's Monday, so the cooks are off."
"Come on Emily. Think of it as giving them a little push, we're not forcing them to do anything, we're just helping them. I mean come on, it's SO obvious they like each other."
I couldn't help but smile at that a little. "Jeez Christina, you sound like a teenager again." I kept going before she could protest. "But you're right, they do need help. Maybe we could…assist, in the matter at hand."
I continued walking down the hall and could literally feel her smile like a matchmaking teenager. I shook my head, those years we're long ago, and I've never really had any interest in my social life back then.
(Lucy's POV)
We were sitting at a dining table in pajamas. Ok, I was the only one in pajamas, but it helps if you think everyone's in pajamas.
I smiled at Arnold trying to eat his cereal as fast as Natsu and failing miserably. I grimaced when I saw Natsu eating. "Natsu, you seriously need to get some table manners."
"Whfmphie Luchey, itsh justh ur arnd Aornole." He said his mouth filled with cheerios.
"Papa, don't talk with your mouth full." Arnold gave up trying to eat like Natsu. That's my boy. I smiled at him.
"Sorry, I said 'why Lucy, it's just you and Arnold."
"Yea, but this isn't our house, and we're on a job."
"Oh yea, I forgot." He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. I face-palmed and went back to eating my cereal. "Remind me to go buy some milk for Emily and Christina tomorrow."
"Yay! We get to go to a magic store tomorrow."
"Yea." Natsu and Arnold both fist-pumped the air. It was so cute.
I paused to think for a moment. "Hey Arnold, do you have any magic power?"
"I don't know." He looked so sad.
"Don't worry son! You're me and Lucy's kid so of course you have super strong magical powers." Natsu slung an arm around Arnold nearly choking the life out of him.
I couldn't help but sweat drop. Arnold technically wasn't out son, but hey, we're his parents, so he is my son. "NATSU DRAGONEL! STOP CHOKING OUR SON! YOU'RE GOING TO KILL HIM!"
"Aha! So you admit we have a son together." Natsu grinned triumphantly.
"W-whatever." I turned around the other way, my cheeks burning. "Oh yea Arnold, is your mom or dad a mage?"
"Yep. Both of them were mages. They use to tell me stories on how when they were younger, they would travel around the world taking missions. They were super strong."
"Well, that's good then. That just means that it's more likely that you'll have magic powers." Arnold smiled hugely and then jumped onto Natsu's back. I laughed and smiled at the same time. They really did look like father and son. "Come on you guys, let's finish eating."
We had finished dinner and I suggested we all go get some sleep.
"No," Arnold yawned. "I'm not tired at all Mum."
"Mhm." I smiled at him and motioned for Natsu to pick him up. Natsu looked confused, so I mimed picking him up bridal style, squatting and everything. He was still not getting it. I did again, and again getting more frustrated. I don't why I just didn't tell him to pick him up. Arnold was already falling asleep.
"Umm…are we interrupting something?" someone asked behind us. The three of us whirled around, Arnold now more awake. Sometimes, Natsu was a real IDIOT!
(Marisol/Ms. Eneaus' POV)
Oh dear. I was chatting with Agalone when we turned a corner and saw the most peculiar sight. Natsu was standing there with his head cocked to one side looking confusedly at Lucy doing squats and Arnold teetering from sided to side.
"Did we interrupt something?" I asked.
The three of them spun around and smiled sheepishly. "N-nothing a-at all Ms. Eneaus." Lucy said shakily. "We were all just heading off to bed."
"Oh is that so?" Agalone spoke up next to me.
"But Luc-" Natsu started.
"Mum-" Arnold protested.
"Yep. We're all heading off to bed." Lucy cut them off with a glare. I smiled inwardly at this. "Oh, I almost forgot. Natsu the room you were staying in was flooded when the bathroom overflowed, so is it ok if you stayed in Lucy's room tonight?"
"Sure thing, Marisol." Natsu answered cheekily. "Arnold let's go."
"Alright." Arnold returned sleepily. Natsu picked him up. {not bridal style but like someone would pick up a kid. I don't know how to explain it.}
"Luce, are you coming?" Natsu asked a red Lucy.
"W-what?! N-no way! C-Can't he s-sleep in some other r-room?!"
"Lucy, don't be so mean. They're being very hospital." Natsu started walking in the direction of Lucy's and now his room.
"IT'S HOSPITIBLE NATSU! AND YOU'RE GOING TO SLEEP ON THE FLOOR YA HEAR ME!" Lucy stormed after Natsu.
Agalone and I watched as they walked away, Lucy whisper yelling at Natsu who was carrying a sleeping Arnold.
"The bathroom didn't over flow, did it?" Aga asked next to me.
I chose to ignore that question. "Aren't they just a match made in heaven?" I sighed.
"Weren't we?" He turned towards me and leaned in. I giggled like a young girl.
"We were, only you were too much of a chicken to admit it."
He leaned in to kiss me and it was sweet and simple. "How about now, am I still a chicken?"
"No, you're not a chicken anymore." I smiled at him, our foreheads touching. "Now, we should go to sleep before we end up acting like teenagers again."
"But being a teenager was so much fun," he whined.
"It was, but you're forgetting something. We're old now."
"Yea, you're right. Let's go to sleep old lady."
"Hey!" I slapped his arm. "I'm not that old yet."
He chuckled and we walked towards our room. I heard him mutter something that sounded suspiciously like 'yet'. I slapped his arm again. A little bit harder this time.
(Lucy's POV)
"Mum. Mum, get up." I felt something sit on me but I was still groggy and refused to acknowledge it. "Papa, she won't get up."
"Don't worry, I know how to wake her up." I tried to tune out the voices and go back to sleep. Then something was tickling my stomach and I felt a warm breath hover over my ear. "Get up Luce." He said.
I jumped up. "You idiot! What was that for?!" I yelled at Natsu nearly dropping Arnold who was sitting in my lap.
"I had to get you up somehow," he smirked.
"Well, now I'm up so what do you want?"
"We're going to the magic store today, right Mum?"
"Of course." I mentally sighed. With Natsu, it was going to be a long day, fun, but long. "Now get off of me, I need to go shower."
"Aye sir." Arnold saluted. I glanced at him suspiciously. "Is Happy here?"
"No. Happy went off with Erza," Natsu looked up from where he had flopped on the bed. "Luce, are you ok?"
"Aye sir." I answer and went to go take a shower. Thirty minutes, a towel, a nosebleed, a Lucy kick, some crying, some whining, some clothes, some eye covering, some yelling, and some concerned maids later, I was ready to go fully clothes in a red tank top and denim shorts. Arnold was sitting on the bed next to me wearing some cargo shorts and a t-shirt with tennis shoes and a backwards baseball cap with a Fairytail symbol on it. Thank god he wasn't dressing like Natsu.
One pink-haired, puffy pants wearing, annoyingly cute, guy was enough. I didn't need an exact, well almost exact save the hair, height, and eye color, miniature clone of him.
"Alright! Let's go!" Natsu and Arnold shouted excitedly.
"Wait, don't we have to go eat breakfast first? And who's going to guard Mr. and Mrs. Eneaus? And how would Arnold pay for everything he needs to get?" I asked ticking the off on my fingers.
"We can eat breakfast at the town, and mommy and daddy will be safe in here because Aunt Emily and Auntie Christina have a really good security. Also I'm bringing my allowance." Arnold took Natsu and my hand and started dragging us to the door. Then he suddenly stopped. "Oh wait, my money is in my backpack."
Seeing as I was the closes one to it, I sighed and walked over to search for his money. I opened the backpack and was surprised to find a bunch of loose papers in there. "Arnold, what are these?" I asked picking some up and looking at them. They were mostly pictures of guns and swords or weapons of some sort, and they were really good.
"Oh, um. When I get bored sometimes, I like to sketch weapons." Arnold bashfully hid behind Natsu. I held one up to show Natsu.
He whistled. "Those are sketches? They're amazing."
"R-really?" Arnold asked.
"Yea, really." I smiled brightly at him and put his 'sketches' back into his backpack and took out a heavy pouch filled with coins. Those sketches could be useful.
(Natsu's POV)
Mr. and Mrs. Eneaus insisted they were fine because they had Sebastian, that guy smells funny, and that we should go "spend some time together". Mrs. Eneaus winked at that part and Mr. Eneaus chuckled. I was confused when I saw Lucy blush. We had walked to town in comfortable silence.
It was like this with Lucy, I don't have to force myself to do anything and as much as I like fighting, I enjoy the peace.
"Hey Natsu?" Lucy asked with her hands behind her back looking at Arnold who was happily skipping ahead of us. "Why do you think Arnold chose us two to be his adoptive/fake parents?"
I looked over at her with my hands tucked behind my head. "Ehh… I dunno. Why don't you ask Arnold?"
"No Natsu don-" she started, but I didn't hear her. Well, I heard her, I just didn't register what she said.
"Yo, Arnold!" I yelled out.
"Yea?"
"Why'd you choose me and Luce as adoptive parents?" He stopped skipping and stood still for a moment.
"Hmm…You guys were in my group. And you guys were the coolest of all the wizards. And I thought you and Mum were already dating." Arnold smiled happily at his answer and resumed skipping.
"Well, I got your answer Luce." I smiled brightly, but frowned when I saw her blushing red. "Luce, are you sick?" I know that she's blushing and I know why, 'I'm not an idiot.' I thought to myself. Everyone seems to think that I'm an idiot and that I don't know anything about love, but in reality, it's much easier to pretend that way.
"W-WHA- N-NO IT'S N-NOTHING!" Luc stammered waving her hands in front of her. She's so cute when she does that and I couldn't help the smile that snuck onto my face.
"That's great, Luce. Now we can go eat."
"Huh?" Lucy looked around and seemed surprised that we were at the town already.
"Alright!" Arnold ran ahead into the nearest bakery and I followed him smiling.
"H-Hey! Wait for me!" Lucy called out running to catch up. Inside the bakery, we ate al sorts of sweets.
"Thanks Arnold." I patted him on the head as he paid the bill.
"Natsu, you can't just let him pay the bill!" Lucy protested.
"Why not? He wants to, and besides, it's not like you brought that much money with you." I knew it was wrong and that I struck a nerve with Lucy, but in truth, neither Lucy nor I had brought much money.
"Well, let's go to the magic stores!" Arnold cheered.
"Alright!" Lucy and I high-fived each other for no apparent reason and we walked out the bakery to search for the closest magic store. Lucy had gotten a map and we located the nearest magic store.
"Uh…Luce, are you sure this is the right one?" I asked sniffing a little.
"You tell me, you're the one with the nose." Lucy stared at the store in front of us. Arnold stood in awe.
"Is that what a magic store looks like?" He asked pointing to the store in front of us. I looked over at Lucy.
"Well, Arnold, you see, this store… is err… meant especially for girls, but we could still check it out if you want."
"Sure!" Arnold fist pumped the air and walked into the pink, frilly, lacy, pink, girly, sparkly, shinny, pink, bright, flower-covered, and did I mention pink store in front of us.
"Here goes." Lucy gave me a nervous smiled and followed Arnold in. I blushed a little, just a teeny bit, and walked in after her.
Arnold was running around and fiddling with stuff, Lucy was blushing at some of the stuff she saw hanging on the walls and I looked around.
"Can I help you?" A girl with lime-green hair asked me from my right.
"Uh…" I tried to think of something because the girl was pretty. Nowhere near as pretty as Lucy, but still pretty.
"My name's Natalie. I see that you're with them," she gestured her head towards Lucy and Arnold as they talked to another girl this time with forest green hair. "But Oksana got them. Would you like anything to surprise your girlfriend?"
"Uh…she's not my girlfriend."
"Oh, fiancé perhaps?"
"No, she's just my best friend."
"Well, in that case, if she's just your 'best friend' then would you still like to give her a present?"
"Eh. Sure. Why not?" I replied scratching the back of my head.
"Do you know what type of mage she is or what she likes?"
I thought for a bit. "She's a celestial spirit mage and she likes girly stuff."
"Oh, I'm sorry, we don't have any keys with us, but we have a lot of magical jewelry." Natalie walked around a pile of squishy looking teddy bears. "Do you have any specific type of jewelry in mind to give her?"
"Umm…earrings?" I scratched the back of my head again. How the heck am I suppose to do this?"
"We have a wide selection of earrings to choose from." Natalie said as she pulled out a rack filled with all different types of earrings. "Most of these are regular earrings, but some of them allow you to communicate, or makes the wearer look beautiful. Some enhance their hearing." Natalie said as she pointed to a few.
"What do these do?" I asked pointing to a pair that I think suits Lucy. Before she could answer, someone wearing a mask came in and took the first things they saw which were a handful of staffs. I looked over and pushed over the giant display of teddy bears successfully knocking the person unconscious. Natalie stared at me.
"Thank you so much! Those staffs were really expensive."
"No problem. I would've done more damage, but I didn't sense any magical presence coming form him, and Erza said that she would teach me a lesson the next time I destroyed a store. Now what do those earrings do?"
"Oh, those are supposed to grant the wearer good luck."
"I'll take it." I took her. Lucky Lucy, I thought as I grinned. I paid Natalie the jewels and walked over to where Arnold and Lucy were stuffing the small wrapped package in my pant pocket. "Have you guys found anything?"
Lucy looked at me wearily. "Nothing. We've tried whips, cards, rune pens, staffs. Those were some of the item type ones. I know Arnold's not a type who can use magic in his body without someway to channel it because we already tried that."
Arnold looked like he was about to cry and I really didn't want him to cry again. "Hey, don't worry buddy. We'll find you something. Besides, if you can't find anything in here, then that just means your not some mage who uses girly magic."
"Really?" Arnold looked up hopefully at me.
"Really. Now let's go, the smell of roses are giving me a headache."
"Thank you again sir for stopping the robbery. If you need any help just call!"
Lucy muttered something probably thinking I wouldn't hear, but I did. "You'll be an excellent dad, Natsu." She smiled and led the way out of the store.
We tried a store made especially for male wizards, but Lucy pushed us out of the store once she saw the wall of porn magazines. "My son is not going to be reading or looking at pornos at age 7!" She had declared storming out. I got a Lucy kick for laughing afterwards.
"Well, this is the last store." I said arms crossed in front of me. "Hey cheer up Arnold, this store seems to have everything."
Arnold brightened at the prospect that this store could have something he could channel his magic with, and walked in, the bell jingling send us a long song.
"How can you be sure he's a mage?" Lucy asked me worriedly.
"Simple. I could smell the magical power coming off of him." Lucy looked so relieved. "I also smell some people familiar to us."
Lucy perked up similar to the way Arnold perked up. "Who?"
"Go find out for yourself." I laughed and walked inside the store.
"NATSU!" Lucy called out once again, running to catch up. "Wow." She said as we looked around the store.
"Mum, do you think there's anything in here we haven't tried yet?"
"Tons." Lucy walked over to where Arnold was and they immediately started using some crystal balls. I followed my nose over to the guns section.
"Hey Alzack, Bisca, Asuka." I greeted them as they inspected some guns. They looked up startled.
"Hey, Uncle Natsu!" Asuka jumped up from where she was standing besides her parents and gave me a tackle hug.
"Hello Natsu, what are you doing here?" Alzack asked formally.
"Oh, Lucy, Erza, Stipper, Juvia, Dysis, and Loke all took a job together, but we all spilt up so Lucy and I are here with Arnold." I put Asuka down.
"Who's Arnold?" Bisca asked me.
"Oh. He's the son of our client, out mission is to protect the family on their trip. He's 7, a little older than Asuka I think."
"Yay! A friend! Mama can I go meet him? Please?"
Bisca laughed. "Alright Asuka, but only if you stay with Uncle Natsu."
"I will." Alzack and I shared glances. His glance showing that I better protect Asuka, mine showing that I will protect Asuka. He nodded and I led over to where Arnold and Lucy were at the paintbrushes and magic paints section.
"You should try this Arnold. Maybe you'll have some luck."
"Umm…I don't know…I'm not very good at drawing, and I don't know what to draw."
"Can you draw a gun?" Asuka piped up next to me.
"Huh?" Arnold turned around and saw Asuka. "Papa, who's this?"
"Oh, Arnold, this is Asuka, Asuka, this is Arnold." Lucy spoke for me.
"Hey! Lucy!" I protested.
"Nice to meet you." Arnold did a little bow.
"Nice to meet you too." Asuka did a little curtsy and I heard Lucy giggle. "Let's be friends." Asuka held out her hand and Arnold grabbed it.
"Sure, but I never had a girl friend {not girlfriend, girl friend} before."
"Yay! Then I can be your first." They started talking animatedly while Lucy watched on a smile lighting up her face.
"Hey Luce, can you go take care of them for a little bit, I'm gonna go talk to Alzack and Bisca about something."
"Sure, what're you gonna talk about with them?" She asked me tilting her head to one side.
"Oh, just to see if they have any guns that shoot out fire." I lied.
"Oh, okay." I think she saw through my lie, but she didn't do or say anything about it. It's for the best, I told myself.
(Lucy's POV)
I looked away from Asuka and Arnold for a few seconds to over where Natsu had head over to talk to Bisca and Alzack. I immediately knew when he was lying. Most likely, he was going to have them deliver a message to Mokarov about Tharon and his mission.
I knew it was important to let Makarov know immediately, but I felt if this matter was somewhat personal, even if he was targeting all of Fairytail. Maybe it was the way he had said my name right before he left.
*Flashback*
"Unless, there is no Fairytail left, when every fairy is captured or killed, then there will be no one to save them, and no one to be saved. This isn't over Lucy."
*End of Flashback*
I had told Natsu everything last night when Arnold fell asleep.
"Aunt Lucy?"
"Mum?"
"What? Oh, uh, yea." It took me a minute to register the fact that Asuka and Arnold were trying to get my attention. "What's up?"
"Arnold is going to try to draw a gun for me." Asuka said excitedly.
"Alright! You can do it Arnold." I cheered.
Arnold started drawing and when he was finished, he showed the gun to us. {I'm terrible at describing guns, but I'll try.} It was a small hand held pistol with the name Asuka in green along the handle. {I tried.}
"Woooow!" Asuka claimed excitedly. "It's amazing."
"I-it is?" Arnold blushed a little and rubbed the back of his head, one of the habits he picked up from Natsu.
"Yea, that's a cool drawing." Natsu said from behind us.
"It's more detailed than some of the guns I have." Bisca said behind him and Alzack nodded. I thought for a moment. What was it that Reedus always says?
"Arnold, hold the picture and say 'Pic-pic-picto." {I'm sorry, I just thought that this would be cute.}
Arnold took the picture a little skeptically and said "Pic-pic-picto." The gun on the paper started glowing and in a matter of seconds, there was an actual pistol with a green 'Asuka' along the handle.
Everyone stood agaped. "Does it work?" Alzack spoke up. Asuka picked it up and shot at a target at the other end of the store. She aimed and pulled the trigger landing a neat hole in the middle of the bull's eye.
"Yep. It works." Natsu said.
"Oh Arnold, I'm so proud of you! We finally found something that you could channel your magic through! Good job!" I squeezed him tightly.
"That's how we do it! You're a picture mage! Yeah! That's my son!" Natsu joined me a few seconds later patting his back and ruffling his hair.
"Way to go Arnold! Thank you for the pistol." Asuka joined in hugging Arnold. I looked over at Bisca who was laughing at our comedic display and at Alzack who stood dumfounded. The three of us let go of Arnold who was trying to catch his breath.
"Oh! My pistol!" Asuka exclaimed. "It's disappearing."
"That's because the little boy hasn't had enough practice and he only used the brush, not the whole set." A wise voice spoke from behind us. "My name is Jeng Fei and I am the owner of this store. With a little more practice, this young boy can draw anything that can stay a lifetime, only of course, if he uses the special set."
"Sure1 I'll take it." Arnold called out excitedly.
"After about a half hour of negotiations, Arnold walked out with everything he needed to become the ultimate Picto mage. Just before he left, he promised he would make Asuka a new pistol the next time he sees her. The storekeeper, Jeng Fei also got an autographed photo of Natsu and me together.
"I'm a huge fan of Nalu." He told us. I looked over at Natsu and he just shrugged indicating that he didn't know what Nalu meant either.
"Bye Aunt Bisca, Uncle Alzack, Asuka!" Arnold waved with his free hand and the three of them waved back.
"Bye Aunt Lucy, Uncle Natsu, Arnold!" Asuka called back, and with that we all went our separate ways.
On the way back, just leaving the town and entering the forest, Arnold was skipping ahead of us again and Natsu slowed down to walk at my pace. "Hey, Luce?"
"Hmm…"
"I got you something. Form the first store we went to, the girly one." Natsu handed me a pink-wrapped box.
"T-thank you Natsu. You didn't have to." I said bashfully as I blushed.
"But I wanted to." He smiled brightly down at me. "Because you always seem so happy when someone gives you something thoughtful."
I blushed some more and opened the box. Inside was a pretty pair of dangly gold star earrings with glittering fire trailing behind it like it was a shooting star.
"Thank you Natsu, it's beautiful." I tiptoed to kiss his cheek, and in the spur of the moment, I changed direction and kissed him on the mouth. I'm probably going to regret it. It'll probably make things awkward, but I did what Natsu always does and lived in the moment.
I pulled back stuttering. "U-um…I-I'm s-sorry…I didn't know-" I was cut off by a pair of warm, soft lips on top of mine.
I blushed even darker. "Does this mean, you're my girlfriend now Luce?" Natsu asked me holding me close and keeping me warm even though it's a warm afternoon.
"No, idiot." He looked so hurt at my remark. "You have to ask me to go on a date with you."
"But, isn't this already a date?" He asked resting his forehead against mine.
"Yea, I guess it is then. Then yes, this means I'm you're girlfriend." My heart thumped so loud and so fast, I'm pretty sure Natsu could hear it. He smiled down at me and leaned into kiss me.
"GROSS! MUM! PAPA! WE'RE IN PUBLIC!" Arnold yelled back at us. I giggled and stepped back.
"We should probably hurry up and head back. Otherwise the adults might worry about us."
"Aye!" Natsu saluted and I smiled. As I turned to go, he took my hand in his. I looked at him surprised.
"Isn't this what couples do?" Natsu asked me. I smiled and couldn't help but tease him.
"Natsu Dragneel, do you actually know something about love?"
"W-what, no it's just…I mean…because…" He trailed off. I tugged his hand and pulled him along.
"We always hold hands as best friends, now we can hold hands as a couple." I told him as I pulled him towards Arnold.
"Aye Sir!" He laughed and ran along side me.
(Arnold's POV)
I was looking around when I noticed Mum and Papa had stopped walking. I turned around and saw that they were talking and then, Mum kissed Papa. Quickly and quietly, I took out my paintbrush and a piece of paper and drew them kissing. Then I drew a picture of them with their foreheads touching.
Mission complete, mom.
"GROSS! MUM! PAPA! WE'RE IN PUBLIC!" I yelled out so that we could hurry up and go back so I could show mom the drawings. I also reminded myself to draw a picture where Mum and Papa were holding hands and smiling brightly at each other.
(Normal POV)
Unknown to the three on the edge of the forest, there was a man watching Natsu and Lucy from a telescope. Far away enough, with the wind on his side, to keep his scent form Natsu. He observed the happy new couple and chuckled darkly.
"Natsu Dragneel, I will crush that big heart of yours and watch as it bleeds. I will take everything that's important to you and you won't see me coming."
With a sharp twist, his cape flowing out from behind him, he swung form tree branch to tree branch away from them and towards the horizon where Chandiana lays.
