Official Disclaimer

The characters of Lieutenant Commander Steven 'Steve' McGarrett, Chin Ho Kelly, Kono Kalakaua, Victor Hesse, Anton Hesse, Former Detective John 'Johnny / Jack' McGarrett, Mary McGarrett, Kamekona Tupuola, Lieutenant Catherine 'Cath' Rollins, Frederick 'Fred' Doran, Detective Meka Hanamoa, Amy Hanamoa and Billy Hanamoa do not belong to me in any shape or form. I am merely using them for my own entertainment purposes.

The character of Detective Sergeant Danielle 'Danni' Williams probably can be considered to be mine by now. Although she was originally based on male Danny, she soon evolved becoming her own person. She has her own background, her own family, her own history and her own distinct personality. This isn't to say that the Danny Williams we all know and love is completely gone, he still emerges through her at times. I like to think of female Danni as what Danny could have been if everything in his life had gone his way. As in full custody of Grace and a decent relationship with his ex.

The character of Grace has also changed slightly due to the change in Danni. Her surname is Taylor as this is her father's surname and was Danni's married name (Danni reverted back to her maiden name when she was divorced). Her parents also are amicable which has also impacted Grace but never fear, she's still the sweetheart we know and love, if anything she's more a sweetheart now.

The character of Duncan Taylor, Detective Rory Clements, Supervisory Special Agent in charge Ryan Moore, Special Agent Kale Meade, Special Agent Alexis Moss, Jeanine Landon, William 'Will' McGarrett, Noah Landon, Anna Michaels nee Landon, Theresa Law nee Landon, Deborah 'Debs' Landon and Michael Landon also belong to me as does any other character who you do not recognise from the show. Please do not use them, or my version of Danni and Grace without first asking for my permission to do so.

Thank you.

Here's the next chapter for you all.

Please note that this and the next few chapters are action based, which isn't my strongest suit, but hopefully I have still done a good job for you all!

Official Summary

When Danni Williams moves to Hawaii, all she wants to do is keep her head down and survive the time she had to stay there. The last thing she expected was to meet Steve McGarrett, a man who seems more intent on getting her blown up and finding out everything about her life than he is about following proper procedure. Danni has a job to do though and one way or another she is going to do it.

Chapter Summary

Danni swallowed hard, staring at the scene in front of her for a second trying to wrap her head around it, her eyes moving over the dirty faces squinting out at her from the gloom of the container. It must have been incredibly dark for them within it, especially as she couldn't detect any candles or torches or anything which might have actually given them lights to see by, they must have been making do with the small cracks at the door to see.

Chapter Nineteen

Clean Up

Friday 24th September 2010

The Warehouse districts

Honolulu

Hawaii 96816

Danni swallowed hard, staring at the scene in front of her for a second trying to wrap her head around it, her eyes moving over the dirty faces squinting out at her from the gloom of the container. It must have been incredibly dark for them within it, especially as she couldn't detect any candles or torches or anything which might have actually given them lights to see by, they must have been making do with the small cracks at the door to see.

She breathed out slowly, taking a small step back as she reached into the back pocket of her jeans and fished out her cell phone, glancing down at it to make sure it had a signal before she looked towards Steve.

"I'm going to call dispatch and get them to send us some additional backup here. We'll need CSU to start going over the scene and check out the warehouse and we'll probably need some medical examiners to check out the people in the container." She stated, waiting for him to give her a nod of agreement before she pressed down on the number three button bringing the handset to her ear. The call was answered after only two rings.

"Dispatch"

Danni closed her eyes, recognising the voice instantly, thankful that Lily was on the day shift. The older woman was smart and she wouldn't need Danni to go into all the details, she'd read between the lines of what Danni was saying and do what was needed.

"Lily, it's Danni Williams. I'm currently with the Governor's taskforce in the warehouse district. We could use some back up over here." She said simply. There was a moment of silence broken only by the tapping sound of Lily's fingers flying over the keyboard before the other woman spoke again.

"What back up do you need Danni or do you just want me to send everyone?" She questioned. Danni glanced towards the trailer, mentally counting in her head.

"EMTs would be a good place to start, we've got around about twenty-five to thirty people of all ages who are probably dehydrated and sick. They've been locked up in a container for god know how long so some of them, if not all of them are going to need some form of medical attention so you best warn the local hospitals as well to expect them" She commented.

"Done" Lily replied after a moment's pause. "I've told them the number of casualties and according to the screen their ETA time to your location will be in about ten minutes time. Do you want me to send you some uniforms as well and some CSU agents?"

"Both would be good" Danni responded before she gave a rueful laugh. "I'm glad you know where I am because to be honest with you Lily I'm not exactly sure where we are right now. The only thing I know is that I'm in the warehouse district surrounded by warehouses and buildings, shocking that isn't it" She remarked, smiling when Lily laughed down the phone at her.

"Yeah, well no offence Danni-girl but your navigation skills aren't exactly the best. I haven't forgotten that time we were meant to be going to Waikiki and you somehow managed to direct us to Waialua instead"

"Oh, come on now" Danni protested with a roll of her eyes even as her mouth twitch up into a smile. "That was a month ago and both of them do begin with Wai, it was a simple mistake to make, anyone could have made it."

"Right, you keep telling yourself that Danni" Lily said, amusement tinging her voice as she continued to speak. "Luckily for you I know what you are like so I activated the GPS chip in your work cell and sent the co-ordinates on it to the necessary teams who are being dispatched to you. As long as you stay where you are for the next fifteen to twenty minutes then they should all reach where you are easily enough."

"Great, thanks for that Lily" Danni answered with a shake of her head.

"This is why I am so great and why you now owe me a cocktail when we next go out which will be as soon as your little munchkin is with her Dad and no excuses this time Danni or I'll be sure to set Amy or Amelia onto you and we both know already how that will end." Lily threatened with a laugh.

"Anything but that" Danni said dryly, rolling her eyes again.

"Just count this as your only warning about it" The other woman commented. "Now is there anything else you need me to do for you?" She queried her voice turning professional again. Danni considered the question as she turned and looked towards the container again. Kono was speaking to them in what appeared to be Mandarin though Danni had no idea what the younger woman was saying, giving her stance and the look on her face though Danni would have hazarded a guess that she was identifying them as a group of cops

"Actually, there's two things which you could do for me" Danni remarked thoughtfully as she turned her attention back to the phone call. "We're going to need some interpreters down here who can speak Mandarin, I don't think many of the people who are here can speak or understand English"

"I can contact the interpreter unit and get some of them down there, they can probably catch a lift with the uniforms who will be heading down there."

"Thanks, the second thing is that I need you to speak to one of the uniforms who is heading down here and ask whether they can pick up a young girl called Chen Chi. She was the Chinese trafficking victim who we found yesterday in Fred Doran's trailer. There's a good chance that her parents are in the container if they are then we should be able to reunite them. She's probably desperate to see them and who could blame her considering what she had probably been through." Danni remarked, a wave of sadness coming over her at the thought.

"Okay, just give me a second and I'll check her record to see what happened to her." Lily remarked remaining silent for a moment. "She's still in custody, she was taken to the hospital yesterday and treated but now she's back in a holding cell while they try and figure out what to do with her. I'll contact Sergeant Lukela and ask him to make the necessary arrangements for her to be transported to where you are" She stated.

"Great, thanks for all your help Lily, I really appreciate it. I've got to go but if there are any problems at all then call me on my cell."

"Don't I always" Lily responded. "Take care of yourself Danni"

Danni smiled, shaking her head as she took the phone away from her ear and ending the call her end, changing the sound to vibrate she slipped her cell back into the pocket of her jeans and turned her attention back to the scene at hand again.

Chin and Kono were guiding the illegal immigrants out of the battered container and were moving them to a shaded area where they were having them either stand or sit, Kono was still speaking to them in Mandarin with Chin adding the odd comment in here and there. She shared a quick look with them, giving them both a quick smile before she turned her attention to Steve, watching as her partner roughly pulled Sang Min to his feet and slammed him hard over the bonnet of the wrecked car. She raised an eyebrow when Steve roughly wrenched the smaller man's arms behind his back and handcuffed him before pulled the back door of the car open and throwing him in, slamming it behind him before looking around.

Danni moved towards him.

"Hey, I just off the phone to dispatch and they are sending everyone down here using the GPS on my cell as a locator for them to follow and find us," She told him, glancing back over her shoulder at the growing line of people. "It seems that we've found the evidence which we were looking for and even better if that we've saved these people from whatever fate Sang Min had planned for them and all before midday as well." She pointed out to him, her mouth curving into a faint smile.

"There's enough evidence here to shut down his trafficking ring and to put him behind bars" Steve agreed, a gleam of satisfaction coming to his eyes "HPD are going to have a long night processing all of them, how many people do you think were being held in there? Thirty? Forty? More" He asked, nodding his head towards the illegal entrants.

"Not as many as forty, if he had forced more than that in there then none of them would have survived the journey and that would have been bad for business." Danni answered on a sigh. "I would say that thirty was a better guess for the number. On a plus note for me though, having to process them through the system is no longer my job." She commented, unable to keep a smile coming to her face before she turned serious. "How do you want to do this then? Do you want to head back to headquarters now with Sang Min and start questioning him about Hesse's location? I can stay here with Chin and Kono and help them begin to unravel the mess here. We can catch up with you back there once everything is done and HPD have taken over"

Steve seemed to consider her suggestion for a moment before her shook his head at her,

"No, I'm not ready to head back yet" He told her. "It would be good to let him stew slightly anyway. Perhaps the sight of seeing uniforms crawling all over his headquarters, delving into all his records will be enough to piss him off, like you said earlier, the more off centre we can get the suspects, the more likely they are to reveal something to us that they would never have intended to reveal otherwise. I'll need your to do some digging on him Danni once we're back in the office, use your contacts and see what leverage we can use against him to make him talk."

"I think I know just the person who I can talk to who can help us with that" Danni replied softly with a nod at him. Steve shot her a quick look of curiosity before he turned his attention back to the other two.

"Chin?" He called out to the older man, waiting until Chin turned from his task and moved across the ground towards them, stopping by them.

"What's up?" He asked, his eyes glancing between the pair of them before focusing on Steve when he began to speak again.

"I need you to stay here with Sang Min and keep a close eye on him. Danni and I are going to head back inside to gather the guards we've already taken down together before we check out the rest of the warehouse to see if there is anything which we can use."

"Yeah, I can do that" Chin answered, resting his hand on his gun as he took a position beside the car, angled so he had a perfect view of Sang Min. Steve nodded, reaching out and took Danni by her uninjured arm, tugging her towards the warehouse entrance before stopping in front of Kono who shot him a questioning look.

"Kono, try and gather as much information as you can about the way these people travelling here and how they went about arranging it. If we know the way that the trafficking ring was run and how they found the people then it may help us make the case." He told the Rookie who nodded at him.

"They are all pretty shaken up Steve but I think some of them at least are going to be willing to talk to us especially if we can offer them some reassurances" She remarked.

"Good, keep working on them and see what you can get. Come on Danni" He commented, turning his attention to Danni. Danni pulled her arm from his grip, rolling her eyes at his back before she followed him.

"The next time your grab me by the arm and use it to pull me around then I will retaliate in some fashion, I thought it would be fair to give you a warning." She told him as she moved passed him into the large dim room, she brought her gun up automatically as she moved back into the area where the fight had initially taken place. Danni skirted the area, breathing a sigh of relief when she saw that the guards were still sprawled out on the ground where they had left them. She put her gun back in her holster once Steve was in position to cover her and moved towards the first guard, pulling on his arm until he was lying on his front, swiftly securing his hands behind his back.

"How did you hurt yourself Danni? Were you shot during the gun fight?" Steve suddenly demanded as he went around to the other guards securing them as well. Danni glanced up at him before she looked back down to the cut on her arm which had stopped oozing blood with a surprised look. She had forgotten all about the injury until Steve had brought it up.

"Was I shot?" She repeated looking towards him again, one eyebrow quirking up. "No Steve I wasn't shot. It was actually your crazy driving stunt which injured me. For once I had nothing to do with it." She told him dryly, securing the last man as she pushed herself back to her feet, wiping her palms against her jeans absently. "I hit the side of one of the surveillance tables when you drove the truck through the wall, which for the record, you're going to explain to HPD, I'm not going to be the one who has to tell them how one of their expensive surveillance vans was wrecked, that will be down to you." She told him with a shake of her head

"It doesn't look that bad Danni" Steve answered critically.

Danni raised both eyebrows at the comment, looking towards the front of the surveillance van which was now crushed and shook her head, choosing to remain silent as she headed towards the back of the van and climbed in now that Steve had pulled out the guards who had been stored in there and added them to the others. She moved past the scattered equipment on the floor to where she had been sitting and retrieved her bag from beneath the table, thankful to see that it was undamaged.

She opened it and took out two pairs of adhesive gloves from within, pulling on one of the pairs and holding the other one in her hand before she shouldered her bag and headed back out of the door and into the warehouse. "These are for you to use" Danni remarked, holding up the pair of gloves so Steve could see them. "Put them on so we can start having a look around before the CSU team arrive and take over the scene from us. Ryan or whoever will be in charge of the team won't give us the same favour twice, that much I know for sure."

"Come over here Danni" Steve said, a tone to his voice which had her moving towards him before she even released she had taken the first step. She stopped by his side, looking around her curiously.

"What's up? Have you found something already?" She asked him.

"Sit" He said, indicating the chair which Sang Min had been using earlier. Danni tilted her head back, looking at him carefully before she shrugged and sat in her chair, glancing around the desk before her attention was caught by Steve sitting on the edge of the desk by her and producing some bandages and an antiseptic wipe from one of the pockets of his cargo pants. Danni stared in disbelief when he tore the wipe open and pulled it out looking at her. "This is probably going to hurt slightly." He told her casually before he used the wipe on the cut, disinfecting it. Danni hissed at the sharp, stinging pain before she forced herself to ignore it turning her attention back to Steve.

"You are seriously joking with me right now right?" She asked incredulously as he cleared the wound carefully before picking up the bandage and wrapping it around the cut. "You just happened to have bandages and antiseptic wipes in your pocket? What else do you have in there?" She asked, rolling her eyes when Steve smirked at the remark.

"I'm a SEAL Danni, we're prepared for every outcome of a mission including someone getting injured, you're not the first person I've had to patch up while in the field." He commented casually, securing the bandage and standing up. He took the gloves which she still held and slipped it into his pocket with the leftover bandages. "That will do until one of the EMTs arrive on scene. You can have it checked out with them to make sure it doesn't require stitches" He commented, his voice making it clear that it was an order which wasn't up for discussion as far as he was concerned. Danni was meant to get herself checked out and that was that.

She breathed out and shook her head.

"You know I might be wrong but I was always under the impression that it was actually boy scouts who were always prepared for everything. Tell me Steve, were you a boy scout when you were younger because I could see it" She commented, getting to her feet and trying to ignore the feeling of warmth blossoming in her stomach at the simple action. She couldn't remember the last time someone had taken the time to take care of her, normally she was the one who took on the job of caring for everyone.

"Actually, I was one" He replied with a shrug. "Besides it wouldn't have helped our case if you were bleeding all over the evidence we are meant to be collecting and causing it to be contaminating." He pointed out. "You take the desk Danni and see what you can find. I'm just going to move this lot out to the front so HPD can book them as soon as they arrive. We'll keep the two who were with Sang Min when Kono was undercover back as our own so we can interrogate them. They are either his lead security or his bodyguard, either way they might know something about what had been going on recently. Even better is the fact the might have seen Hesse recently."

Danni nodded at him.

"You've got it" She answered "I told dispatch to have someone bring Chen Chi here from where they are currently holding her in the holding cells. There's a good chance that two of the illegals outside are her parents, considering everything she probably went through under Doran's hand, a friendly face would probably be much welcomed right about now. I know that if I was in her shoes then I would want to see my parents as well."

Steve watched her for a moment, an unreadable look on his face before he gave her a nod.

"That was good thinking Danni" He replied before he turned and headed over to the first prone guard, roughly bringing him to his feet and forcing him towards the exit, clearly ignoring all the curse words and threats which erupted from the other man at the treatment.

Danni watched his progress for a moment before her eyes dropped down to the bandage wrapped securely around her arm before she turned her attention back to Sang Min's desk and forced the incident from her mind. Somehow, she doubted that today's injury would be the last injury which she would end up with on the taskforce. It might actually be a good idea for her to take a leaf out of Steve's book and keep a small medical kit in her bag to join the small CSU kit Ryan had made up for her, for situations like this.

The desk in front of her was surprisingly tidy with only some paperwork on the surface, paperwork which Sang Ming had probably been looking at then Kono had entered and distracted him from it. She gathered them up and flicked through them with a slight frown. It looked as though they were covered with figures, perhaps they had something to do with the prices he charged people for bringing them into the country illegally. There were no names in it, just different initials by the amounts.

Danni breathed out, putting the paperwork back on the surface and looked around her, checking the drawers. She made a small sound of frustration when she found them both to be locked. Danni looked back at the desk, her eyes narrowing slightly as she looked over the surface for any sign of a key which might fit.

She smiled when she suddenly spotted it, partially hidden by a book. Reaching out she picked it up and inserted it into the lock, twisting it to the left. It made a clicking sound as it unlocked allowing her to pull it open. Inside were several thick files and two picture frames. One of a pretty woman and the other of a small boy who Danni took to be Sang Min's wife and child. She placed them to one side and turned her attention to the files, opening the top on she found herself confronted yet again with a page covered with the same row and row of figures she had seen before.

"Have you managed to find anything?"

Danni glanced up in surprise to see Steve standing over who with a questioning look on his face as he pulled on the pair of adhesive gloves he had taken from her earlier.

"I might have found his account books" She answered with a shrug. "From what I can gather he takes the initials of the people he brought into the island so he can identify them in future. He must have a pretty amazing memory to remember when you see all the initials he has listed here, there must be hundreds. Its either that or he has a small book hidden somewhere with the names and initials listed beside them but I haven't found that yet. I'm assuming the number next to it is the amount the initial amount of money it took to bring them over, the one next to that could be the amount they have paid and maybe the last column is what they still have left to pay? Though obviously I am making a complete guess over it." She said as she glanced back at the pages, her eyes moving down it before she stopped. Danni pulled out the page which had caught her attention and held it out to Steve who took it from her. "Check out half way down the page" She advised him.

"VH" He read out before looking up at her, a glint coming to his eyes as though he scented blood. Danni nodded at him.,

"The VH could stand for Victor Hesse maybe" She suggested. "There is no figure listed next to the initials which could mean that Sang Min brought him onto the island as a favour rather than as a business arrangement, it would explain how it was done so quickly. Maybe Sang Min owed him for something and this was his way of repaying it and wiping the slate clean or perhaps he is a canny businessman who realised quickly who he was dealing with and decided that having someone like Victor Hesse owing him a favour wasn't a bad thing. I mean Sang Min doesn't come across as someone who would let another person use his network and possibly expose it just because he's a nice, helpful guy. There's always clearly a price to pay for someone to use if even if that price isn't money as he heard when he was speaking to Kono earlier."

"Its either that or like your said Hesse made him a better offer than just money. Don't underestimate how powerful Hesse is. The man has a lot of connections in every department. High up connections at that. The same sort of connections which Sang Min may have use for. Hesse could have offered to introduce him to someone who is needed for one of his projects because I doubt the trafficking ring is all that Sang Min has his finger in, if we keep digging then we're bound to find some more information on him." Steve stated.

Danni nodded as she stood and gathered the rest of the files together.

"I'll have a proper look at these once we get back to headquarters" She commented. "Maybe there's a chance that I can crack the code he uses. He has some other files with photos like mug shots in it with sheets of other information. There is a chance that there is a connection and I'll be able to link some of the people up and see exactly what we're dealing with here. We have to assumed that some of the people using this trafficking route are people like Hesse who was here to escape a criminal charge elsewhere. I found these as well. I thought you might be able to make use of them later on" She said, indicating the two photos which she had found. Steve glanced at them and nodded at her.

"We'll definitely take them to headquarters." He told her. "The photos might come in handy as incentive to use during Sang Min's interrogation"

Danni nodded in response, opening her mouth to speak when Kono's voice broke through their conversation.

"Steve? Danni? Are you here?"

They both looked up towards the doorway to see Kono enter the room, glancing around her with an unreadable look before she focused her attention back on them.

"What is it Kono?" Steve queried.

"Sorry to interrupt you both but you told us to let you know when the first uniforms and EMTS arrived on the scene Steve and they are just pulling up now."

"Good, thanks for the warning Kono" Steve said before he turned to Danni. "Gather what you need and let's go." He commented, Danni nodded placing the files back onto the surface and moved around the desk so she was standing by his side.

"I'll have to speak to the CSU agent in charge and ask to have those files delivered to my office as soon as the place is processed. I doubt they will have a problem with doing it though, if anything they'll be happy to pass the work over to me. They are seriously understaffed at the moment" She commented

"Who is going to be the agent in charge today? Ryan Moore again" He questioned, shooting her a quick glance. Danni shook her head.

"Ryan's in the office today working on the Doran case still, there was a lot of evidence in that trailer that they are still going through. He said he was going to contact us later about it so he could brief us on their findings. He'll have sent on of his senior field agents in with a team. He's got two senior field agents" She added.

"Right" Steve said, a considering note to his voice. Danni glanced towards him curiously but decided to ignore the comment as she exited the room, squinting in the bright sunlight as she looked around her taking in the scene. Chin was standing by the car talking to two uniformed officers while Kono stayed close to the illegal immigrants who were watching the growing police presence with a look of fear.

Breathing out, Danni glanced to the side of her in time to see a group of uniforms and CSU agents get themselves into position to work before she noticed a large bus pull up behind one of the waiting ambulances.

"Well that is something different" She murmured, a surprised smile coming to her face when she saw Meka climb out of the bus. "I'll be right back" She told Steve before she began weaving her way through the growing crowds towards the bus. "Seriously you again?" She called out to Meka once she was sure she was within ear range of him. "You know I'm beginning to think you're stalking me, every time I turn around at a crime scene you're there."

"I should have known that this would have involved you somehow Danni girl. Every time something goes down on this island you seem to somehow he right bang in the middle of it all." Meka pointed back as she stopped in front of him. "You know I've for to say that this isn't exactly a bad second day for you. I mean not only have you and McGarrett brought in an arm dealer who is wanted on multiple chargers ranging from just about everything but now the pair of you have apparently managed to bring down a well-established trafficking route which most people in the authorities wasn't even aware existed yet and you've managed all of this before eleven in the morning." He teased with a wink.

"Well what can I say Meka, it seems that the pair of us are overachievers with something to prove" Danni replied back with a grin. "What other Detective are with you today or are you the only one down here?" She queried

"Me, Lee, Kahale and Kekoa are here" He answered. "I picked the team myself" He went on to say. Somehow that didn't surprise her. Lee, Kahale and Kekoa were three of the Detective who had gone mildest on her while in the bullpen.

"Okay" She replied. "But why are you here though? Did the uniforms or dispatch ring it through to you?

"No idea how it came to our attention, the Captain told me to get a team of four together and to get down here so here we are" Meka answered with a shrug. "You should count yourself lucky though, the Captain was actually considering coming down here himself. Only the thought of the amount of extra paperwork he would be forced to complete if he did kept him back at his desk."

Danni rolled her eyes.

"Got to be thankful for those small blessings" She responded. "I'm thinking it might be best to keep Steve and Captain Hookano away from each other for a while at least until the Hesse case is over with." She looked behind him. "I get why you're here now but why bring a bus with you? Couldn't be bothered to look for your car in the car park again?" She asked innocently as she waved her hands towards it.

"Funny" He answered in a deadpan voice. "You were the one who told dispatch that there was at least twenty-five to thirty people here who needed processing and medical attention so we figured that a bus might actually be the easiest way of getting them all the station or hospital. The Captain is no doubt going to get in contact with your new boss stating that he wants this part of the investigation." Meka warned, "Hookano wants all the brownie points he can get. Apparently, the Governor is due to pay a visit next week and he wanted to be able to claim victory over the take down.

Danni snorted in response shaking her head.

"He's welcome to try but I doubt that this is going to be an investigation that Steve will just hand over, not when Hesse is involved anyway."

"McGarrett won't hand it over or you won't?" Meka asked her carefully with a raised eyebrow. Danni considered the question for a second.

"Both" She responded.

"Well I'm not going to argue over it with you, god knows we've got enough work of our own to be getting on with without adding something like this though. You might want to go and warn your new partner about it though. I'll set the other three to work on something else." He told her.

"Thanks for the warning. I'll see you, Amy and Billy-boy tonight around seven" She told him, reaching out and patting his arm before she turned and headed over to where Steve was standing with Chin and Kono discussing something. "Hey" She said coming to a stop beside them and looking at each of them. "I was just taking to Meka, apparently Captain Hookano wants to take over the crime scene, and he's sent four detectives. If we hand it over to them then we won't get any of Sang Min's files and they'll demand that we hand him over for questioning." She stated.

"Yeah that's not going to happen" Steve replied. "They can take the illegals and process them but they are not getting Sang Min or his files. This is our bust and our ongoing investigation and that's the end of it" He said before he turned to Danni. "Who should I talk to?" He demanded.

"No one yet, let them come to us first with the request." Danni advised, looking over her shoulder as Detective Lee raised his voice and spoke in clear Mandarin to the huddled group of people. She frowned slightly turning back to Steve. "What is he saying to them exactly?" She asked.

"He's asking for the people who can stand to line up in an orderly row outside of the bus and for the ones who can't to remain sitting so that the EMTs can have a look at them." Kono answered, crossing her arms over her chest as she listened. "And now he's explaining what is going to happen next and asking them for their cooperation and patience."

Danni nodded, watching as the majority the illegals came to their feet and began shuffling towards the bus. She turned at a movement to the side of her, watching as the CSU team moved past them talking to each other. She glanced towards Steve who gave her a pointed look and nodded at him, moving away from the others and stopped one of the CSU agents by grabbing her arm.

"Hiya Alexis" she said with a grin at her. "I need a favour from you." She asked. The dark-haired woman, looked up at her, an answering grin coming to her face.

"And what favour would that be exactly Jersey girl?" she asked her. Danni twisted and pointed to the entrance to the warehouse.

"I need you to have all the files and the two framed pictures in the main office delivered to me once you've finished processing the scene if that is okay?" She requested. Alexis tilted his head towards the building, following her gaze.

"All the files in there?" She repeated.

"You got it, I'll clear it with Ryan first but I doubt he will have a problem with it as long as we follow the proper procedure." She commented. "You know Ry mention to us about your new promotion. I'll make sure they get sent to your new office, I might even offer to drop them off myself just so I can see your fancy new digs, its been said in the old rumour mill that your boss actually has given you your own office?" She probed.

"Just bring me the files and the photos Alexis" She answered him in amusement, nudging her in the side "And tell Ryan that I say hey when you speak to him." She told her before she turned and headed back to her team, stopping when she saw Steve approaching a police car and opened the back floor offering his hand to someone. A slight smile came to her face when she saw Chen Chi emerge nervously from the back, looking around her. Her dark gaze fell on a man and woman in the line for the bus, the sight of them made her face light up as she broke away from Steve and ran to them, throwing herself into their waiting arms.

She glanced at Steve as he approached her, touching her arms gently. Danni returned the gesture, allowing him to pull them in the direction of their car.

"Are we heading back to the office now?" She asked him.

"Nearly" He replied. "I just want you to have your arm checked out first. Kono is staying here and Chin is going to drive Sang Min back to the headquarters now and will stick him in the holding cells." He told her, changing their course so they were heading towards one of the ambulances.

"There's no point in arguing with you over this is there?" She complained, glaring at him when he glanced over his shoulder at her and grinned at her.

"None."
