Alice's P.O.V

Just as the sun let its first ray of the day shine through the thin beige curtains Alice's eyes ice blue eyes slowly opened. With a sleepy yawn she carefully rolled over to face her gentle, big sister. The ice blue eyes stared sadly at the older sister thinking about everything Bella lost. The sinking of the ship had happened so suddenly, and even though Alice had been preparing herself emotionally for the catastrophe Bella did not walk onto the ship knowing that everything she had known, except Alice, would be brutally taken from them. It was surprising how well Bella was holding herself together, but maybe that in just a mask.

Lost in her own thoughts, Alice did not know that her sister's warm brown eyes were staring into the endless blue depths. Hopefully, Edward would provide a bright future for the Swan sisters. Without him they would be lost with no home, family, or food.

There is another thing Alice is keeping from her sister, but it is not her secret to tell. Its Edward's.

Bella's P.O.V

Alice just gets done retying Bella's corset when a knock sounded at the door. "Bella? Alice? Are you two ready yet? The car has just arrived," Edward inquired through the door.

Her hearted fluttered at the sound of his voice, and as if he could see her through the door Bella's face heated as she called out, "One moment, Edward." Bella's hands fumbled a bit with the fastenings on Alice's furry blue coat as she quickened her once calm pace.

"Sister," Alice said in a soft voice. "Edward is not going to leave us. He is too infatuated with you to just leave us here." That last sentence was said with a hint of amusement that made Bella's faint pink cheeks flame once again into a furious red.

"Oh, hush now, Alice. Do not speak of such things," Bella rambled. "Mr. Edward is just being extraordinarily generous, that's all" Bella said this more to herself than to Alice. Alice just giggled and opened her mouth to say something back when Bella grasped her small hand and led them both outside of the room.

Once the sisters arrived at the entrance of the glamorous hotel Edward was waiting for them next to the car. There was a slight chill in the air, but it was not the cause of the slight blush on Bella's face. To her, it seemed as though Edward had become even more debonair than the day before. His bronze hair was unkempt and unlike the style of slicked back hair and his striking emerald eyes seemed to glow with speckles of gold. The blush on her cheeks deepened when she saw a smirk play on Edward's lips as she was caught mesmerized by him.

"Good morning, Bella and Alice, you two look lovely today," He said while looking straight into Bella's eyes with playful mischief.

"Oh I am sure that my sister looks far grander than I, Edward. Since it seems that you cannot keep your eyes off of her," the small eight year old said shocking both Bella and Edward. Bella looked at Edward who now had his wide eyes focused on Alice. Now she could admire him without him catching her. "Oh come now," Alice sassily says catching Bella's attention once again, "we should spend no more time here. Lets be on our way now, shall we?" With that being said, Alice prances up to the car door, opens it and slides in without another word.

A throat clears, and now Bella's attention is turned to the driver who makes his way next the Edward. "Sir, the ride will take approximately six days if we were to add stops, but without stopping we shall be there within three."

Edward nods considering what has been said and says, "Then we shall stop only to eat and stretch from time to time, Jenks. If that is alright with you, Bella."

Bella's eyes widen as she is brought into this decision usually only discussed between men. Finally, after her slight shocked pause, Bella clears her throat and softly says, "Yes, thank you, Edward, that would suit us well. We will just sleep in the car." Edward nods agreeing with her decision, and with that out of the way Edward helps Bella into the car. Within minutes Bella, Alice, and Edward are watching life fly by as they make their way out of New York.
