Part Four
Eve made her way through the halls of the arena, the former diva very aware of the man that was walking behind her... And just as aware of the various looks they were getting from everyone that was in the halls with them. Glancing back over her shoulder, she looked at Seth Rollins, finding the man walking a few steps behind her, his shoulders a bit hunched, the wrestler pretty much refusing to look at anyone as he walked. Shaking her head a bit, Eve returned her gaze to the front, adjusting her grip on the bag she carried - a bag that contained Seth Rollins's things and not her own - the woman arching a brow and giving Natalya a look that practically dared the older woman to say something as she walked by... Natalya didn't say anything, though, but Eve could see the urge to say something snarky in the blonde woman's eyes. Probably something tacky and rude and likely linking the various names Zack Ryder and John Cena had called her in the year before she retired to the fact that she was leaving the arena with Seth Rollins now. She really wanted to beat Cena and Ryder with various heavy objects for starting that whole 'hoeski' business, and it was attitudes like theirs - as well as the fact that people still believed she was the one that was behind the attack on Kaitlyn at Night of Champion the year before - that kept her from signing that new contract that had been offered to her.
Sending one last look Natalya's way, the woman shifted her grip on Seth's bag, then continued on her way, reaching out to push open the door that led to the parking garage... Holding it open after she'd stepped out, glancing behind her to make sure that Rollins was still there. He came to a stop just beyond the door, looking around the garage, his gaze darting around a bit until it fell on an empty parking space about fifty feet away. Eve got the feeling that the space hadn't been empty earlier, and that the Shield had been parked there. Apparently, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns had already left for the night. Closing the short distance between them, Eve looked up at the man, meeting his gaze, then gestured toward her own rental car. "I'm parked over there."
Rollins looked at her for a moment, then nodded, the man starting to head in that direction, his steps slow and measured. Despite the fact that it appeared the other members of the Shield were already gone, he still looked as if he expected a sneak attack at any moment. And maybe he did... Maybe he figured that, even if Ambrose and Reigns were gone, someone else was bound to come out there and take a few cheap shots at him. Heaving out a sigh, Eve began walking again, making her way toward her car and digging the key out of her purse at the same time... Finally finding the keys and pressing the button to unlock the doors, then popping the trunk. Quickly, she walked around to the back of the vehicle, putting their things inside the trunk... His bags and the small bag she had with her, anyway. She kept her purse with her.
Shutting the trunk, Eve turned to look at the man standing a few feet away. "We should get going."
"You really don't have to do this," Rollins said quietly, the man shoving his hands into his pockets... Then pulling them out again, frowning as he pulled the gloves he'd been wearing out of his pocket as well. Shaking his head, he shoved the gloves back in.
"You have a minor concussion, right? You need someone to keep an eye on you, just in case. And if not me... Then who?" she asked, watching as he flinched at that question, and the woman sighed. "I didn't say that to-"
"I know. But it's true, isn't it? No one's exactly lining up to help me out, they'd probably rather kick me while I'm down, and I know I deserve it."
"Something tells me that your former partners would deserve it more," she said, shrugging when he looked at her. "You never turned against your tag team partner. They did. To me, that shows you've got more loyalty than them. It'll be interesting to see what happens if the two of them implode," Eve continued, smirking a little at that, then gesturing to the car. "We should probably get going, so you should probably get in the car," she told him, and Rollins stared at her for a moment, then nodded, making his way over to the passenger side of the vehicle.
Frowning a little, Eve watched his movements as he went to get inside, the man opening the car door easily but wincing several times as he actually got into the vehicle, one arm banded across his bruised ribs as he did so. Clearly, despite the fact that he was trying to act like he was okay physically, he was really hurting. Sighing, Eve left the back of the car and made her way to the driver's door, the former diva glancing around as she did so... Her gaze falling on two figures that were at a car a couple of rows away. Well, really, she was only paying attention to one of the figures. After all, Daniel Bryan was just going about the business of getting his and Brie's things into their rental car... Brie was the one standing there watching Eve and Seth.
Arching a brow, Eve met the other woman's eyes, and she didn't need to be close enough to see the expression in them to realize that Brie was concerned... Which was nice, she supposed, having someone be worried about her, but in this case, she just didn't think it was necessary. She firmly believed that Seth Rollins was not a danger to her. The actions of his partners tonight had thrown the guy for a loop and totally changed his demeanor... Not to mention the fact that he was injured.
Eve turned her head then, breaking the eye contact with Brie and reaching for the car door, the woman getting behind the wheel, taking the time to put her purse in the floorboard of the backseat before turning to look at Seth... Frowning a bit as she found the man slumped a bit in his seat, his head leaned back against the head-rest, his eyes closed.
"You okay?"
"I'm fine. Just sore," he said quietly, and Eve nodded, though she didn't really believe him. Maybe he was okay physically, but that wasn't all there was to it. Mentally, emotionally... He wasn't in a good place... But he didn't know her well enough to talk about it, so she supposed he would keep it to himself, at least for now. Sighing, she turned her attention back to the car, putting the key in the ignition and getting it started.
"Then I guess it's time for us to get out of here."
