[Author's Note: I know the last chapter was shocker. I promise Scuba will be back soon enough. I am unsure how long it will be, but he will at least have a few sentences more. Japhne action to come...]

Where was she? Why was she in so much pain? Daphne rubbed her eyes in confusion. "Hello?" she called as she slipped out of the bed she had just woken up in. Her feet slid against the hardwood floor as she made her way to the closest door. Daphne tugged at the handle and peered out. Outside the bedroom was John, Kathryn, and Angelo. "Hi Sweetie, how are you feeling?" Kathryn was the first to break the silence. "My body is aching." Daphne mumbled as she pushed up her shirt sleeve to examine the damage of her arms. There were nasty black and blue bruises on her forearm. Her legs didn't look much better. "The doctor said you can take the medication every four hours. It has been about four hours since I picked you up from the hospital. Do you want some?" Angelo remarked as he got up from the table to go retrieve the bottle of pills. Daphne nodded and made her way to the kitchen table where John and Kathryn were drinking coffee. Slowly, Daphne seated her self in the chair in between John and the seat that Angelo had just gotten up from. "I have spoken with the owner of Maize, the police, and our family lawyer, The kid who did this to you is going to be punished." John explained. "In order for that to happen, they need your witness statement. We can do that after you take your medication and eat." he continued. "Can it wait a day or two? I do not think I am ready to relive what happened yet, and the pain killers make me very sleepy. I won't be functioning enough to give a reliable statement." Daphne answered. Truth was, Daphne wanted to talk with Jeff and maybe even Scuba before she told the police anything. "Of course, Honey. We just want to see this kid pay for the pain he caused you." Kathryn spoked in her motherly voice. "One bowl of vegetable soup, a glass of water, and painkillers." Angelo announced as he set a tray in front of Daphne. "Thanks!" Daphne offered before taking a gulp of water and swallowing the two white pills that were sitting on the tray.

Jeff had to see Daphne. He had to make sure she was alright. Sitting in his lonely apartment was driving him insane. The Kennish residence was not that far, so he could easily drive over and check up on her. Chef Jeff grabbed his car keys off the hook and headed out the front door. He quickly drove to the mansion that the Kennish family called home. After parking in the circular driveway, Jeff sped walked up to the front door and knock. He impatiently tapped his foot as he waited for an answer. "Where are they?" he thought out loud as he stared at the door. "Can I help you?" a voice came from behind him. "Yes. I need to see Daphne." Jeff demanded as he spun around to face the mystery voice. "She is not home at the moment. I believe she is at Angelo's house because he picked her up from the hospital. Who are you?" the petite black haired girl replied. "I am her boss, Chef Jeffrey Raycraft. I wanted to make sure she was okay after the incident today." Jeff explained. "Who are you?"

"My name is Bay. I am Daphne's sister. Well kind of. It's complicated." Bay introduced. "Complicated. That is what Daphne said when she said she had two mothers, but they were not a couple." Jeff responded. "Our family is complicated. Daphne and I were switched at birth, and we didn't find out till last year. My parents Regina and Angelo raised her, and her parents John and Kathryn raised me. I still consider John and Kathryn my parents as well as Angelo and Regina. That is why we have two moms and two dads." Bay detailed. "Angelo was the only parent available to pick her up from the hospital, so she went to his house. I believe John and Kathryn are there too. Do you wanna come in? They should be coming home soon" she added in. Jeff nodded and stepped inside the doorway. The house on the outside seemed huge, but it felt like a home on the inside. "Can I get you a drink or something to eat?" Bay kindly offered as she made her way into the kitchen. "Coffee would be wonderful. It has been a long day." Jeff sighed as he followed Bay. "Do you need cream or sugar?" Bay wondered as she started up the coffee maker. "No thank you." Jeff replied. He needed his coffee black and strong.

"So how did you find out that you were switched?" Jeff inquired as he took a seat at the island. "My biology class did an experiment using our own blood, and my blood type did not match John and Kathryn's. They did a paternity test, and it came back that I was not their child." Bay summarized the events leading up to meeting Daphne and Regina. Their conversation was interrupted when Bay's cell phone rang. She poured Jeff a cup of coffee and placed it in front of her before pulling her I-Phone from her jean pocket. "Hello?" Bay called into the phone. "Mom ... Hi ... How is she doing? … I am home. Daphne's boss is here. He wanted to make sure she is okay after what happened … Okay, see you soon … Bye"

"That was my mother. Daphne is awake, and they are getting ready to bring her home. She said to let you know that you are welcome to stay for dinner. I promise we won't make you cook, but I cannot promise it being five star quality." Bay disclosed as she ended the call. "I would be grateful to stay for dinner. I am in no mood to cook for myself, so I probably would have ended up ordering Chinese or something." Jeff mentioned in between sips of his coffee.
