Part Five

Eve pushed open the door to her hotel room - a hotel room that she would now be sharing with Seth Rollins for the night - the woman glancing back over her shoulder to make sure that the wrestler was still there with her before walking into the room. Stepping to the side, she held the door open for the man, watching as he brought the luggage that they'd stopped by his hotel room to pick up inside. He'd refused to let her take it for him, insisting he wasn't so hurt that he couldn't do it himself, and rather than argue with him, she'd let him do what he wanted, though she had carried the bag he'd had at the arena.

"I'll take the bed closest to the window. You can have the one closest to the door," Eve said quietly as Seth stopped just inside the room, and the man nodded, then dragged his stuff to the bed that she'd said was his, the man lifting his suitcase and putting it on the foot of the bed... Wincing at the pull in his ribs as he did so. The former diva cringed a little at the show of pain, but she didn't say anything about it, instead closing the door behind him, then stepping farther into the room, making her way around the end of his bed, coming to stand between the two beds in the room as she looked at the man, a small frown on her face.

Seth Rollins was still dressed in his wrestling gear; the only pieces of his gear that were absent were the gloves that he'd taken off when she'd gone to check on him the first time and the vest he wore. Apparently, he'd taken that off sometime between her leaving him the first time and coming back the second... But everything else remained, evidence that the man hadn't gotten a chance to clean up and change. He had to want to get out of those clothes.

Clearing her throat, Eve gestured toward the bathroom door. "If you want... I'm sure you probably want to take a shower or something. I'm guessing you didn't get a chance to earlier," the woman said quietly and, after a long moment, Seth nodded his head.

"That would probably be a good idea," he said, moving toward his things, then pausing, flicking a look in her direction. "Are you sure you don't want first dibs on the bathroom?"

"I didn't wrestle tonight and you did, so I figure you should get it first," Eve replied, watching as the man nodded, digging into his suitcase for what he needed. She saw him wince once or twice as he moved, his ribs still clearly bothering him, and Eve silently cursed Roman Reigns for spearing his tag team partner so hard that the man had ended up with bruised ribs... Of course, once the match itself was considered, it was possible that the bruised ribs weren't entirely the fault of Reigns. The same could be said for the concussion, given the shots to the head he'd taken during the match. On top of that, Seth had been thrown into the steps by one of the Usos, his abdomen taking the brunt of the hit, and after the spear by Reigns had leveled him, Jey Uso hadn't been able to leave well enough alone, the man going up to the top turnbuckle and landing a splash on Rollins, who had clearly been taken out of it enough by the spear that they could have gotten the three-count on him anyway. Maybe the Usos had thought it somehow made it a more credible win if one of them did a finishing move on Seth instead of ending it with the spear from Roman Reigns; she didn't know. She just knew the extra damage done had been unnecessary.

After gathering what he needed, Rollins headed for the bathroom, still moving pretty slowly, and Eve frowned as she watched him, the woman biting her lip as she contemplated something. Heaving out a sigh, she spoke before he stepped into the room. "Leave the door unlocked, okay?" she said, and Rollins looked over at her, frowning.

"What?"

"You have a minor concussion. You're probably going to be perfectly fine, but if something happens... After being on Stars Earn Stripes last year, I discovered that I can kick in a door if I have to, but I only ever did it then, and that's more than a year ago now, and I really don't want to have to do it now if you pass out or fall or something. So please leave the door unlocked. I won't go in unless I hear a loud thud followed by you not responding when I yell to ask if you're okay. Deal?" she said, and Seth studied her for a moment, then gave a slow nod.

"Deal," he said, his voice soft, the man then stepping into the bathroom, flipping on the light and shutting the door, but keeping to his word and not locking it. A few minutes later, she heard the sound of the shower running and, figuring she had a little bit of time (and knowing she had to do so anyway), Eve pulled out her phone, quickly finding Brie Bella in her contacts, then pressing the button to connect the call. It was answered before the second ring.

"Finally! I was beginning to wonder if you'd ever call me. I was about to call you, actually. I totally would have called you already if Daniel hadn't told me I needed to give you more time."

"Well, Daniel was right. I did need more time. I just got back to my room a couple of minutes ago," Eve told the other woman, and that much was true. What she didn't tell the diva was that she hadn't gone back to her room alone. Brie and Daniel knew that she'd given Seth Rollins a ride back to the hotel tonight, but they didn't know that she'd offered to let him stay in her hotel room so he'd had someone to make sure he was okay and not having any problems with the concussion he'd likely suffered.

"Well... Good. That means you're safe and sound, right? No Shield members lurking around?"

"I'm perfectly fine, Brie. Seth Rollins has a concussion and bruised ribs and he has been on his best behavior despite the injuries. You're worrying yourself over nothing."

"Well, I am *now*. Because you're all safely tucked away in your room for the night, and Rollins is... Wherever he is that isn't with you," Brie said, then sighed. "I know you're a grown woman and you're capable and all of that, but you also have a soft heart, and I just... I worry, okay?"

"I know. And I'm glad I have someone to worry about me. Even if it's not necessary in this case."

"Yeah, whatever... I'm just glad you're back in your room and away from him for the night. Sleep tight, okay?"

"Same to you," Eve replied, ending the phone call with her friend as they finished speaking, the woman feeling a bit bad about letting Brie believe that she was in her room alone, but not wanting to deal with the freak-out that would come if Brie knew Seth was staying in her room tonight.

There was time enough for that later.
