(Ravio)
He didn't know what to think, as Cloelius led them through the town, catching the eyes of many civilians. They stared, whispered and watched as the group marched down the avenue. Personally, all the attention made him quite uncomfortable. He found himself trembling right away as his head darted from one side of the street to the other. How did he get mixed up in this anyway?!
Well, there was no getting out of it, now that he was in it. How in the world he could be any kind of useful was far beyond his comprehension. Surely, Ravio the Masked Bunny Merchant, was nothing but a clumsy teenage boy; and a cowardly, wimpy one at that. How did he fit into this, with what talent or ability? Link was a strong, brave hero who would do anything for anyone in need. Emerald was a shape-shifting wolf, with prophecy to a be hero as well. What was he? A side-kick perhaps? It did not matter to him anymore, for he had given up his dreams that had formed of being different than his same old weak self...
He shuddered slightly at the image in his mind, letting out a short stream of warm vapor to collide with the icy air. He looked over at Emerald, who's eyes traveled around curiously at the city. Most likely, she was still taking in the fact that this is supposed to be her home, and the fact that she had never know this even existed for the longest time. Hell, he would react in a similar manner, but he would probably be much more confused and frazzled than she seemed. Of course, that was expected from her.
Soon, the extravagant storefronts slowly shifted into smaller, brick buildings that emitted a welcoming aura. It had almost felt like it was physically warming Ravio. "What is this place?"
Cloelius refused to looks back at him, and just continued walking. However, he did answer his question. "Warfang, obviously. It is just a more residential area on the outside area of the capital. Not everyone can afford the luxuries that the market districts have to offer."
Ravio nods in understanding as his eyes took in the scene. Most of the homes he had seen looked quite pleasant, with beautiful windows that were adorned with built-on shelves; mostly likely to hold flowers in the spring and summer. The dark wooden trim stood against the pastel bricks, and the mocha tiled roofs. Each home also had a small piece of land in front of them, some even having a tree, which was now twisted and bare.
"What are we looking for?" Ravio heard Emerald ask.
"We are looking for a safe place for you, so we can proceed without you freezing," the wolf deity responded, marching up to a house on the end on the street. "I believe this one is vacant. The family had died from a flu out-break about a year ago. Of course, the house was cleaned out. However, people are just too afraid to occupy it."
Link inspected the building with his eyes. "Why?"
"Many different reasons. Mainly, it deals with spiritual fears. Some believe spirits still linger here, but what they fail to realize is that spirits are all around us. After all, living things die each day. Some spirits leave the ground, some wander, and other reside below... Here, I do not think there is anything to worry about," Cloelius explained as his form shifted back into a human. He unlocked and opened the door, allowing the others to enter.
Ravio hesitantly entered, having dealt with many furious spirits in Lorule, he really did not feel like interacting with any more. His eyes scanned the first of two floors this 'home' had to offer. This floor consisted of a sitting area occupied by some old furniture, with a small kitchen and fireplace. The oak floors moaned with every step someone took, as if it was in pain. The house was abandoned, as if it had died along with the unfortunate family that Cloelius had mentioned.
Link was the last to enter, and the door screeched shut behind him, sending a series of chilling echoes of the slam throughout the house. Ravio flinched at the eerie sounds that seemed to surround him. "Come on Ravio! It's an empty house!" However, no matter what he told himself, he could just not calm his frayed nerves.
Ravio could hear Emerald conversing with Cloelius, but he could not tell what exactly they were discussing. He tried desperately to focus on their conversation. However, he could not keep his senses straight, because they were flooded by something. But what? The only beings here were others, along with himself. Link went upstairs, and Emerald and Cloelius were in the sitting area. Ravio was so distracted, that he could not even hear his name being called.
"RAVIO!"
He pushed his senses to focus again, and turned to see Emerald tapping him on the shoulder. "W-what?!"
"I was calling you and you didn't answer. Are you okay?" Emerald looked him, gray eyes glimmering concern.
Ravio nodded. "I dunno what happened. I-I could focus on anything. Like, I couldn't see very well, or hear and anything."
The wolf girl looked thoughtfully at him. "Well, that's strange, really strange... Maybe you should go upstairs and lay down," she suggested.
"I guess," Ravio answered. He looked at the staircase over in the corner, and then made his way over carefully; keeping his senses in check. He ascended to the second floor, which was one room that consisted of a few small beds; four to be exact, for parents and children...
He flopped down randomly on one of them, his crisp gray-green eyes gazing up at the washed and peeling walls. It seemed like forever: he just stayed there, eyes blinking every now and then as he listened to the deep-freezing wind singing and howling. However, he started to fidget. Why, Ravio was not sure, but he started to feel the exact same way he had downstairs; and it frightened him. The anxiety welled up as his vision blurred slightly, as if glasses that his eyes depended on were taken of. His hearing has dulled, with a slight buzz approaching.
Ravio began to panic, pulling his hood over his head, consuming what vision he had in darkness.
