Previously…
"W-wait, Tsunahime, don't move too much…!" that's all Giotto could utter before everything as if crushing down. Tsuna had loosened her grips, unconsciously, and had forgotten that there's someone right below her. And that's all it took before she fell down on top of the blonde, only managing a too-similar 'ooph', while Giotto's arm spontaneously went around her head to protect her from the fall. She thought she's imagining things when she heard a creak of the door, though…
"O-ouch…" Tsuna whimpered. 'That was horrible…'
Drop.
"… WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TWO DOING?!"
A not-so-short fifteen minutes later…
"That's why, G… I've told you it's a misunderstanding," Giotto explained with a strained smile and a sweat-drop for the umpteenth time.
Tsuna gulped and bit her lips, not daring herself to look up because when she does, she's directly facing the duo she and Giotto just talked about. Yes, they've been found on the wrong place and the wrong time… wait—it's not like they intend to do anything! Tsuna's inner-chibi cried rivers, 'I want to bury myself and stay there for the next fifty years…'
And right now, here they are, sitting all too silently and politely, trying to explain everything in a tense silence. The last thing she remembered was a meaningful smile on the red-hair's face while the pinkish-hair got a deep scowl—which scared her right to the bone. Forget about grumpy, he's already on another level of scary!
A sigh from one of the strangers, which she expected belonged to the pink one, immediately sent her goose-bumps. "So, mind telling us what you two are doing before we came earlier?"
"… We've been telling you for three times already…" Giotto sighed tiredly.
"As expected huh…" the red-hair sitting beside G, smiled in amusement.
"That's why we told you that we're trying to take this from the top of that shelf earlier," Giotto pointed to the box on the table. "But we got a bit difficulty with the height, so we fell."
"Yeah, yeah, but it didn't result so normally is it!" the reply came loudly and Tsuna involuntarily shrieked in her mind.
"Now, now, don't scare the girl, G." a voice, not Giotto's, said. It belonged to the red-hair one, the friendly one—Cozart, she remembered. "Besides, it's not like Giotto never hug any girl before."
Tsuna twitched and felt a part of her heart plunge. Okay, was she being hopeful of being special to him?
"And when did I do that Cozart?" she heard Giotto asked, but didn't trace anger or uneasiness in his tone.
"With some neighbor that asked for your help to get some balloon that stuck on one of the tree branch when you both were five, maybe," Cozart shrugged. "And then you fell and led to the exact same position just now."
"… That's a great scenario, Cozart," Giotto laughed. It sounded really light, and she thought that it's the first time she heard him laughed like that. So free and happy, that it spread to her smile too.
"That's not really necessary Cozart, I'm being serious here," she heard G growled.
"Yeah, you're just too serious, that's why you're basically the reason why children fear people with tattoos," Cozart snigger.
"This is not a tattoo!" G almost yelled at Cozart. Giotto cocked a knowing eyebrow at G, as if sending a warning. Despite he's the one who should have the most reason to be in charge, G heed to Giotto's stare and took a deep, loud sigh. "Alright, fine. I'll let this aside this time, but if this goes out of line-"
He didn't continue but they all knew what he meant. Tsuna has an interesting hue of red on her cheeks while Giotto only smiled. Sometimes his best friend takes thing too far for no reason. It took a good ten seconds before Cozart melt the ice.
"Oh, we haven't got to introduce ourselves to the young lady have we?" at the mentioning of her name, she looked up and saw him smiled, while G had glare-like stare. "I'm Shimon Cozart, Giotto's friend."
"G." the pink hair said all too simply. Tsuna sweat dropped but didn't pursue any additional notes about him. His scary features have silenced every word she potentially said.
"Come on G, can't you have a more decent self-introduction?" Cozart demanded and he simply 'tch'-ed before look away. Her lips formed a straight line; no matter what, she's pretty upset of giving a bad impression on their first meeting.
"I-I, umm… I'm Tsunahime," she trailed off.
"Aah, now I understand. So you're the girl Giotto mentioned the other day," Cozart leaned forward. Tsuna blinked a few, rapid times.
"… H-huh?"
"Oh, don't worry. He just told us about how you two meet… and oh! Which reminds me, do you have the dress that Giotto picked for you the other day?" Cozart asked with pure curiosity. Giotto shook his head slowly but she noticed the smile on his face. G mostly just stayed silent and rolled his eyes.
"Err… yeah?"
"Oh great!" Cozart laughed. "You see, Giotto here is also the one who picked a dress for my little sister, Mami. It's truly a wonder huh?"
"Wow," Tsuna nodded in agreement.
"Alright, alright, enough about me," Giotto's lips quirked into a smile. "Why don't you three get to know each other better, instead?"
"Right…" Cozart nodded and rolled his eyes humorously. "So… okay. What's your favorite color, Tsunahime?"
"Eh?" she blinked confusedly. Giotto almost laughed, wondering if his friend seriously asked what he just asked. "Err, I…"
A series of knocking on the door stopped the conversation for a moment, and when they turned to see who's at the door, an adult woman has already standing by the door, closing it behind her. "Oh, sorry if I bother you, but are you kids ready for dinner?" the stranger asked in a jolly tone.
"Luce," Tsuna acknowledged with a smile. Her smile broadened as she nodded.
"The meal's starting to cool down; better eat it while it's hot," Luce approached Tsuna, stroking the top of her head when she did. The three didn't miss the pleased look on her face when the adult pet her that way. Cozart instantly thought she's kind of interesting while G had another train of strange thoughts in his mind.
"Okay," Tsuna answered, still a bit carried away with the warmth on her head.
"What about you, boys?"
"Ah, you don't have to go that far ma'am, we don't want to intrude. Besides, it's really our fault that we came so late," Cozart answered for G's part as well. There's a slight disappointment on Luce's face and Tsuna understood why. It's obvious from where she lived that the adult love children, and to her, the three mature-like boys are still kids in her eyes.
"Well, how about you, Giotto? You're staying right?" Luce asked the blond. "You have skipped dinner the other day, remember?"
"Ah…" Giotto trailed off. Tsuna's chest rose in hope and expectation. He continued after sharing a short glance at his best friends, "Thank you ma'am, but I think it's better for me to go home for today, and besides I think Tsuna need a rest after today."
The disappointment in Luce's face was obvious, but the feeling was written all over Tsuna's face as if in red ink. He's wrong because she really wanted him to stay. Oh, how she wished she could talk to him—she has more than a lifetime's worth stories to tell. But, well, can't be worse than it is now if he leaves right? Probably.
"Well, that's too bad then. But you should really join us some other time alright?" Luce finally pulled her hand from Tsuna's head. "And this time, I'm gonna have to use the last resort and make you promise."
Giotto chuckled lightly. "Okay, I promise."
"How about you two?" Luce asked the last two boys. Both glanced at each other awkwardly.
"Umm…"
"Excellent," Luce suddenly took a conclusion. Tsuna watched her twirled toward the door, but not before nodding her head to Tsuna—who knew what it meant. So right after she left the room, Tsuna took over the role of the house' host once again.
"Sorry about that… she's really happy when we have visitors," Tsuna explained, a bit embarrassed.
"Don't worry, we know," Giotto said, which followed by a nod from Cozart and a mute hmph from G.
"So… you're going home now?" Tsuna asked timidly in which replied with several nods.
"Yeah, it's late anyway," Giotto answered. Tsuna nodded, and opened the door.
"I-I'll take you to the front door, since you're not familiar with this place…" Tsuna said awkwardly as she walked in lead, with the three boys following behind. The walk was in silence so thankfully it didn't take long until they reached the door she said and she stopped. "Here it is."
Giotto nodded, Cozart smiling, while G has an unreadable expression so she said nothing more as they hopped into their shoes. With some proper farewells, they're about to leave. Tsuna bit on her lips, looking at Giotto's back. Strange, he seemed different but on the same time the similar with the boy she just bumped to hours ago. Now he's probably the closest person she has at the moment.
"U-um, Giotto-san," Tsuna called and he turned his head to see her easily. She smiled a bit shyly, "Thank you for today… and sorry. See you later."
"Okay, see you later, Tsuna-chan," Giotto replied with a smile before he, too, disappeared behind the door. Tsuna sighed in relief after another five seconds. Well, that went well.
With Giotto, G, and Cozart…
"Oi, you better have a damn good explanation of what happened earlier," G said in a low voice toward the blond, who just smiled at the threat. So yes, G still hasn't let go of the topic just yet. He just stopped pursuing answer because he's a guest and it'll be rude. On the other hand, the reason Cozart's not helping Giotto this time was because he wanted the answer just as much as G. He, however, wanted it by pure curiosity and amusement. It's not like every day you'd see your best friend in such a position with a girl—an unknown girl.
"Aah, that just now huh?" Giotto asked simply and walked as if he hasn't said anything. G nodded.
"Yeah," he frowned and growing impatient. "So start talking now."
He saw Giotto's shoulders rise then fall back again. "I thought I've explained it to you clear enough."
"Uh-huh," G cocked an eyebrow quizzically.
Giotto smiled sheepishly, "Seriously, G. When will you believe me, already?"
"Tch, it's definitely strange. She's a stranger and you said that you just met her! And suddenly by evening you're already… cuddling each other! Who knows what happen if we caught you at night!"
Giotto and Cozart sweat dropped at how G's mind works on these things. "You saw that as cuddling? And what do you mean by what will happen if you came at night?"
"You two were probably kissing already and-, gosh!" G huffed exasperatedly while the other two stifle their chuckle. Sometimes it's funny to tease their short-tempered friend. G can be exaggerating about some supposedly minor things that he thought not. This was one of it.
"You have incredible imagination G, as always," Giotto half-jokingly said. "There's no way I'm gonna do something like that and besides, we're friends only."
"You seem to enjoy her company very much though," Cozart added.
"She's a good company," Giotto agreed. "A bit more… tomboyish and simple than any girl I ever met though."
"Hmm," both Cozart and G stared at the blond. That meant a good thing that he said right? "Well, it's really rare to see you so comfortable with a girl… I guess that's a good thing, maybe. Tsunahime seem to be kind too, although a bit timid. What do you think G?"
"Hmph, well, she's a tad better than those giggling girls that used to follow you around," G paused as his eyes darken. "—but that doesn't meant I already approved her. So any intimate contact was off-limits!"
"You make me sound like a pervert G," Giotto sweat dropped. Cozart laughed seeing their bicker before it died down. Then he changed the topic.
"By the way, have you heard about the rumors, Giotto?" judging from the look on the blonde's face Cozart smiled. "Actually earlier today I was late in meeting you because I met Franco on the way. He told me that there are some rumors lately about ghosts, terrorists, or something, sneaking around at night."
"Ghost?" Giotto's voice sounds unbelieving although he knew that his friend or Franco wouldn't be lying. "By ghost, do you mean… 'that'?"
"Yeah, I also don't believe it at first but after I ask around they all said the same thing, which is why I'm late, so…" Cozart nodded to G. "I called G to confirm it and to tell you as well."
Giotto looked over to G who, with his arms crossed and stern frown, nodded. The blond looked in thought for a second before he rubbed the back of his head. "Okay; we'll settle it tomorrow first thing."
Later on, with Tsuna…
"Today's getting dark far too early," Tsuna sighed, pausing from sweeping the yard and looked upward. The sky's starting to get very dark while usually it should be around thirty minutes later. She mildly pouted and started to move the broom again. The children just stopped their soccer game and went inside for a bath. Of course, being one of the older members, she has the responsibility to clean up after them, though usually she'll tell them to help her too.
The air starting to get chilly from the wind and to be honest she's a little bit scared being alone in the dark. Shivering, she rushed the swinging motion. Then she remembered how the grown-ups calm the children when they couldn't sleep. 'Think of something nice,' she reminded herself resolutely. A feeble and forcing smile was on her face but well, she don't even realize it. So she started to think about Sunday meals, colorful flowers, and… she felt a bit calmer when she remembered the blond and his friends. G still scared her but maybe she just hasn't known him all that well yet…
Then a rustle nearby—something that's pretty creepy when you're at night, alone, with only a broom as a weapon. She literally jumped and shivered. Then it resonated again and this time she forced herself to look behind her. The bushes were unmoving when her eyes landed on it— before it started to shake the next second. Tsuna spontaneously shrieked and even fell down to her bum when she tried to back away.
The movement of the plant starting to get even wilder and she hoped that she's only imagining things when she thought there's a shadow leaped from behind—
"H-HIIIII!"
A/N: Hmm, the editing part is way too many! Okay, basically, I have to edit most of the communication of this chapter, because of the changes in chapter 2 where the first version is "Tsuna hug Giotto out of her own longing for a friend", and the second version is "Tsuna accidentally fall on top of Giotto". So, yeah. But it concluded and flowed pretty much the same. The way Cozart and G appeared on the scene is also exactly the same, so no worries about the flow hehehe. Okaaaay.
So, how do you think? Thanks for the support guys! XD
IMPORTANT!
Hoho as I've said before, Hibari exist in this fic so yeah, he'll appear later along with one certain person. For the reason he's out… there's TWO options, and thus this is important: Which one of these two take Hibari out of the orphanage you'd like to see?
a. Alaude
b. Fon
Questions you might ask as a reader! (or I will if I'm one)
Q: So, with Cozart, Luce, and Hibari here, does that mean there's a possibility Enma's going to appear? Or Gokudera, Reborn, etc?
A: Probably… actually I add Hibari just to make some friendly/brotherly fluff with Tsuna. For the other supposedly-Tsuna's-gang (Gokudera, Yamamoto, etc) I dunno, that depends. And for Arcobaleno… well, depends too. Either way there won't be too much of them playing MAJOR because this fic is better done short =.= and for Enma… I don't think I'll put him because I totally like EnmaxFemTsuna so I just preferred him to be the main pair but I don't like complicated romance, so in femTsunaxOther pairings, I won't insert him (can change depend on the situation though) otherwise it'll be triangle love or something
Q: When will Hibari appear?
A: Soon, maybe haha.
Q: Hmm… so has Giotto think of Tsuna romantically? Vice versa?
A: Nope, they're still all happy-and-jolly being friends only at this point.
