Sorry this took so long and that it's so short, everyone... I've been busy. I just started dual enrollment, so I've been really focused on my studies, especially since I'm in all college courses. Now that I've got a grip on my life, I'll hopefully be updating a lot more now. Enjoy.
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
Latula spent her walk laughing with her little blind sister and her friend, though Latula wasn't exactly interested in their humor. Their humor was childish and mainly about how funny Sollux's lisp was.
Soon, though, they arrived at Sollux's house. Terezi and Latula walked him up to the door before handing him over to Hector, and then when they went to leave, Latula saw something. A bright yellow helmet with dual-colored shades and a bright green tee shirt. She turned and saw a boy who looked almost identical to Sollux, but then he panicked and shut his curtains.
"Terezi, does Sollux have a helmet?"
"Not that I know of. I don't think he would ever need one. It's not like he plays sports or anything."
"Weird," Latula said, walking her little sister home.
In the Captor home, Hector made the boys dinner before sending them to their rooms, as Hector had a colleague coming over for dinner. Sollux hopped onto his normal minecraft server, where he saw Kanaya had been hard at work building herself a mansion. As it turned out, she was on then, so he sent her a quick call request before running to grab his headset. When he came back, she was sitting there, staring at her screen and concentrating as she built up a tower.
"Hello, Sollux," she said calmly.
"Hey, Kan," he said, pulling his headphones on and plugging them into his computer.
"How are you doing?"
"Fine, you?"
"Perfectly fine," she said, a smile playing on her lips. "I talked to Rose after you left, and she's quite an interesting person. I find her intellect stimulating."
"I'm glad you're hitting it off with Eridan'th ex-girlfriend," Sollux said with a smirk.
"Indeed," she said, smiling and starting to create a little room in her mansion. Sollux followed her and tried to help her build up the walls. They spent the better part of the night finishing off a couple towers of the mansion before filling it with glowstone. Afterwards, Kanaya logged off and left Sollux to building up his own place. Eventually, he got bored, and he found himself on his phone texting people and having the general conversation until he got a call from Eridan.
"Sol?"
"Yeah, ED?"
"W-What are you doin' tomorrow-w?"
"Homework, probably. What about you?"
"The same. W-We got our history projects done, but w-we could w-work on something else together if you w-want."
"That thoundth fine, but you're thuppothed to be thtaying home."
"I w-will. You can come ov-ver."
"But I have thchool tomorrow."
"Then I'll see you after."
"Okay. Ith your head feeling better?"
"It's throbbin' a little bit. I'll be fine."
"Alright. Get thome thleep."
"You too."
"Night, ED."
"Night Sol."
