Two chapters in one night! I am on a roll. I'll probably go to bed after this. But have some JohnDave. This story is slowly going to come to a close these next chapters, which is unfortunate because I liked this story. My next one, however, will be DaveKarkat, and there will be sex. I'm going to change this from M to probably like... I dunno. Something lower, because I don't think I'll write a sex scene for this story. Sorry for getting your hopes up. If you're all really that disappointed, I'll write an epilogue or something. Oh well. Here's the next installment. Enjoy.

Chapter Twenty-One

Twelve missed calls and thirty-seven texts from Dave ever since John and he had broken up. John spent almost every waking minute battling himself. He wanted to answer those texts and calls and fix everything, but this was the worst thing Dave had ever done. He cheated, and with Eridan, the guy he was claiming to hate and spent so much time trying to ruin his life.

John wondered if he was over reacting, but Sollux had convinced him otherwise. The two had become closer ever since the incident, and John saw that Sollux really was very similar to Dave, and that's probably why they got along so well.

And then there was Vriska, who seemed to be overcome with sympathy and compassion for him. She would text John almost to the point of him thinking it was creepy, asking how he was doing and if there was anything she could do to help him move on.

But the truth was, John didn't want to move on. John loved Dave. He really did. He spent hours looking through the pictures he took of them all the time. Ones of them at the movie theater seeing Frozen. Ones of them at the bowling alley and how John kicked Dave's ass at it, and how Dave kicked his ass at DDR in the arcade. Ones of the stuffed bear Dave won him at the local fair. Ones of them giving each other cute cheek kisses in the park. Funny ones of them making silly faces at each other. And his favorite was the one Jane took when she found them on the couch sleeping together, limbs tangled together with John's head tucked under Dave's chin and his nose in his neck, both boys exhausted on the hot July day the photo was taken.

John slipped into bed and reached into the cover of his pillow, pulling out a red tee shirt and pressing his face into it, inhaling deeply. It still smelled like Dave's cologne, and that comforted him, though the smell was wearing off as the days passed after their break up.

That was the night that John answered Dave's next call.

"John? Oh thank God you actually picked up!"

"I figured you wouldn't call without a reason, considering you never call me at all." John smiled a little. Dave liked texting way better than calling anyways.

"John, you have to listen to me. I'm tired of this game. I didn't want to kiss Eridan, and he didn't want to kiss me."

"What?"

"She made me do it! It was blackmail, John. She has things."

John stiffened. "What kind of things?"

"She has our sexts, John."

"No!"

"I wouldn't joke about this, dude. She has them, and she was going to send them to everyone if I didn't kiss the little nerd. I didn't want to do that to you."

"How did she even get them?"

"I don't know!"

"Did you send them to her?"

"I would never do that and you know it, John."

John thought a moment. "The only person I could think of who could hack your phone and get the sexts is Sollux."

"He wouldn't sabotage his own relationship, are you kidding?"

"Well, who else would have done it, Dave?"

Dave was silent before he muttered that he didn't know. John sighed and said, "Just come over here… I miss you."

"I miss you too, John. Leave your window unlocked."

"It is. I'll see you soon, alright?" John smiled a little.

On the other end, Dave, who normally held a straight face or a small smirk, was grinning from ear to ear as he pulled on a jacket and hopped on his bike, heading to see a certain Egbert.
