Dean sat there. Shocked as all hell. He should know by now, all hunters have some angsty and dramatic back story. And I was no exception.
While Dean sat there in stunned silence, a gust of wind appeared suddenly and then disappeared just as fast. I turned my head and looming over me was none other than Castiel.
"Excellent job with the witnesses." Castiel said in his deep, monotone voice.
Wait,...you were hip to all this?!" Dean asked, his anger noticeable in his voice.
"I was, uh...made aware." Castiel said, obviously not wanting to get Dean all riled up but it was inevitable.
"Well, thanks a lot for the angelic assistance!" Dean said sarcastically. "You know, I almost got my heart ripped out of my chest!"
"But you didn't." Castiel says.
"Ya know! I thought angels were supposed to be guardians! Fluffy wings, halos - you know, like uh...Michael Landon!" Dean started.
"Not cocks." I added without looking up at them. I could feel their eyes boring a hole into my skull. I suppose that's a bit out of character...
"Read the Bible. Angels are warriors of God. I'm a soldier." Castiel said in his gruff ,and very attractive might I add, voice.
"Yeah?! Then, why didn't you fight?" Dean asked annoyed.
"I'm not here to perch on your shoulder Dean! We had larger concerns!" Castiel said slightly annoyed.
"Concerns?! There were people getting torn to shreds down here!" Dean yelled "Alice almost died! And, by the way, while all this is going on, where the hell is your boss huh?! If there is in fact a God?" Dean said, challenging him.
"There's a God." Castiel said bluntly.
I just sat there, perched on the floor. Watching their little argument. Like TV.
"I'm not convinced. 'Cause if there's a God, what the hell is he waiting for, huh? Genocide?! Monsters roaming the earth!? The freaking apocalypse!? At what point does he lift a damn finger and help the poor bastards that are stuck down here!?"
"The Lord works-"
Castiel, I swear! If you say "mysterious ways," so help me, I will kick your ass!"
"Guys, guys. You can have your religious dispute when there isn't an impending apocalypse!" I said, finally ending their argument.
"So, Bobby was right? About the witnesses. This is some kind of a...sign of the apocalypse." Dean asked.
"That's why we're here. Big things are afoot." Castiel said seriously.
"Do we want to know what kind of things?" I asked doubtfully.
"I sincerely doubt it, but you need to know. The rising of the witnesses is one of the 66 seals." Castiel explained.
"Okay. I'm guessing that's not a show at SeaWorld." Dean said jokingly.
"Those seals are being broken by Lilith." Castiel said, ignoring Dean's comment.
"So, she was the one who rose the witnesses?" I asked.
"Mm-hmm. And not just here. 20 other hunters are dead." Castiel said.
"Of course! She picked victims that we couldn't save so that they would already be willing to fight us."
"Lilith has a certain sense of...humor." Castiel said unsurely.
"Well, we put those spirits back to rest." Dean said.
"It doesn't matter. The seal was broken."
"So the seals, they're like locks on a door. The last one opens and I assume something big and bad happens." I say.
Castiel looks at me briefly, slightly impressed.
"So, the final lock opens, what happens?" Dean asks.
"Lucifer walks free." Castiel says.
"Lucifer?" Dean repeated, in disbelief. "But I thought Lucifer was just a story they told at demon Sunday school. There's no such thing."
"Three days ago, you thought there was no such thing as me. Why do you think we're here walking among you now for the first time in 2,000 years?" Castiel says.
"...To stop Lucifer." Dean says to himself.
"That's why we've arrived." Castiel clarifies.
"Well...bang-up job so far!" Dean said sarcastically. "Stellar work with the witnesses. That's nice."
"We tried. There are other battles, other seals. Some we'll win, some we'll lose. This one we lost. Our numbers are not unlimited. Six of my brothers died in the field this week. You think the armies of Heaven should just follow you around?"Castiel explains. "There's a bigger picture here. You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of Hell. I can throw you back in."
Castiel vanishes, leaving us alone in the kitchen.
"Would you like a text book?" I asked Dean.
"Why?" Dean asks.
"Because he just schooled you! I yelled. Dean just glares at me and grumps off back to bed.
Dean's POV
I groggily wake from my " bed" and Sam is already awake and up and about.
I look at him skeptically. And he notices almost immediately.
"You all right? What's wrong, Dean?"
"So... You got no problem believing in...God and Angels?" Dean asked.
"No, not really." Sam said nonchalantly.
"So, I guess that means that you believe in the Devil." Dean said.
"Why are you asking me all this?" Sam asked.
Just then Alice groggily stumbled over. It was obvious she had just woken up, but something woke her.
"Morning." Alice said, yawning. Her hair was messy and tangled. Those pajama shorts that girls wear, yeah she was wearing that. And just a normal tank top.
"Careful some cute guy sees you like that, he'll go running." I said, half jokingly.
"Oh shut up." She said playfully hitting my chest.
"Want some breakfast?" Sam asked. "We're gonna be on the road soon."
"I'll just have like an apple or something." Alice said, grabbing an apple.
"If you say so." Sam said. "Go put some real clothes on."
"These are real clothes!" Alice argued. "I might just go in this." Sam scoffed at that and I grabbed Alice by the shoulders, turned her around and pushed her in the other direction.
"Clothes!" I said sternly. Alice walked off slightly unwillingly.
No one's POV
Alice and Dean are lying on the bed of the hotel room. Both Dean and Alice were thrashing around, they were having nightmares. Dean jolts up and finds Castiel sitting on his bed.
"Hello, Dean. What were you dreaming about?" Castiel asks curiously.
"What the hell?! What, do you get your freak on by watching other people sleep? What do you want?" Dean asked, annoyed.
"Listen to me. You have to stop it." Castiel said sternly.
"Stop what?" Dean asked, confused.
Castiel puts two fingers to Dean's forehead and he disappeared.
Castiel is about to leave, but he feels something latch onto him. He turns to look in it's direction. And it was Alice.
Castiel's POV
This was truly an awkward situation. I do not know the protocol for when a human female imprints on you like a baby duck. I try to pry her hand from my trenchcoat without waking her, and her hand falls. I move to stand up and she stirs. Her hand latches onto my coat again. If I vanish mysteriously the gust of wind is sure to wake her. But...why do I care? So I sit on the edge of the bed and watch her, as I have nothing better to do. A tear rolls down her cheek. And I reach to wipe it away. As I wipe it away her eyes shoot open and she grabs my arm firmly.
"Hello." I said, bluntly.
"What are you doing?!" Alice asks in disbelief, scooting away from me.
"Why were you crying?" I asked.
"I'm not!" Alice said.
"Yes you are." I said, pointing to her face. Human females really are an enigma. She quickly wiped her eyes and jumped out of bed and headed to the bathroom.
I figured that right about now Dean might need an explanation as to where he is. So I quickly vanished.
I appear in front of Dean and he bumps into me.
"What is this?!" Dean asked.
"What does it look like?" I said, the answer should be fairly obvious.
"Is it real?" Dean questioned.
"Very. " I replied.
"Okay, so what? Angels got their hands on some Deloreans?! How did I get here?" Dean demanded.
"Time is fluid, Dean. It's not easy, but we can bend it on occasion." I explained.
"Well bend it back or tell me what the hell I'm doing here!" Dean yelled.
"I told you, you have to stop it." I said.
"Stop what? Huh?! What, is there something nasty after my Dad?!" Dean asked.
A car horn sounds and Dean turns around. I take that as a chance to leave, so I vanish.
I'm back in the motel room. I don't quite understand it, but I find Alice's presence...comforting...
I take a seat on the edge of the bed once more. Alice walks out of the bathroom, dressed in jeans and a mint green plain T-shirt. Her hair is wet and she smells like cherry blossoms. I assume she just took a shower.
"Don't you have like...angel things to do?" Alice asked.
"Not at the moment." I replied.
"Well then make yourself useful and dry my hair. I hate doing it." Alice says, holding out a pink towel. I take it from her and move so I'm facing her back. She sits in front of me and I dry her hair. I grab a fist full of hair and dry it with the towel roughly.
"Ow." Alice yells. "You're doing to rough!"
"I'm sorry. Are you sure that I should do this?" I ask doubtfully.
"Yeah of course! It's easy just do it with less force." Alice explained. So I did as told and tried doing it less forcefully.
After I finished drying her hair Alice thanked me and took the towel and tossed it by the sink.
"So, Castiel! This is your first time in the human world yeah?" Alice asked.
"Yes. I have observed, however I've never actually spoken to a human or things of that nature." I replied.
"Well then let's go have fun!" Alice said, pulling on my arm.
Alice's POV
I let go of Castiel's arm so I could put on my shoes. I figured that I'm gonna be seeing a lot of Castiel we might as well become friends.
I turned around and...he disappeared. Well shit. That's a bit a rude yeah?
I fell back onto the bed, finding comfort in the softness of the bed. I turned on my did but instead of seeing the wall in the distance, I saw an ass. A sitting ass. In fact I didn't just see it. I rolled into it, as appeared out of no where.
"Oh my god!" I yelled. I jolted up. And right there was Castiel.
"No, it's just me." Castiel said in all seriousness. If it were anyone else said that it would've been funny, but this is Castiel so of course not.
"But, you just left!" I said.
"Yes...And now I am back." Castiel said.
"But, where did you go?" I asked.
"To see Dean." Castiel replied.
"Is he okay?" I asked worriedly.
"Yes, I assure you he is in no more danger then usual." Castiel said. I'm not sure if that was supposed to relieve me or make me more worried, but I figured he's probably okay since Castiel just saw him.
"Are we not going anymore?" Castiel asked.
"Oh! I didn't know you wanted to go still." I said, surprised.
"Yes, I would very much like that." Castiel said.
"Then let's go!" I said. I grabbed Castiel's arm and lead him out the door.
When we reached outside I pocketed the key and started walking.
"Okay, not everyone has the amazing convenience of driving, or being able to drive. So basically we're walling!" I said cheerfully. "So, where to first?"
"Well...I have always wondered what it is like in a mall..." Castiel said. "I have heard of it, but I've never been to one."
"Alright! Let's go shopping!' I said.
When we reached the mall I pulled Castiel to JCpenny the closest clothing store from where I entered. I went to the men's section and grabbed a bunch of stuff from the rack that Castiel would look good in. I dumped them in his hands then pushed him in the fitting room.
" Try those on then show me!" I yelled.
Castiel walked out awkwardly in a fitted black T-shirt and jeans. He still had the trenchcoat on though.
"Nooo! Take off take off the trenchcoat!" I yelled. I walked up and pulled the trenchcoat off him.
"You know, you don't look too bad...but you a jacket." I said. Castiel immediately eyed his trenchcoat desperately and I glared at him. I picked out a leather jacket for him to wear, if he had his shirt tucked in he'd look like he was from clueless or something.
"Okay take it off!" I said. Castiel stood there and took off the jacket, then started pulling the shirt off and my face flushed immediately and I yelled "No! In the dressing room!"
"Oh." He said. He took the leather jacket and walked back to the fitting room.
There were several more outfits. Ridiculous ones too. Suspenders, board shorts, racer back tanks tops, sports shirts, etc. The trenchcoat outfit does suit him very well.
After the shopping fiasco. We went to a local bar. I don't usually drink other than beer, but I decided It was okay.
"So what'll ya have?" I ask Castiel.
"I don't know. Being an angel, I don't really need to eat anything." Castiel explained.
"If you say so!" I said. I asked for the first drink that came to mind. "Can I get a tequila?"
"Sure." The bartender said whipping up the tequila. After preparing it. He placed the drink in front of me and I drank it all in one sitting. It was...really...good...
Castiel's POV
I didn't understand what happened immediately, but Alice got drunk.
"Heeeey~ Castiel! Why are there 3 of youuu?" Alice slurred swaying slightly.
"Alice, are you intoxicated?" I asked curiously. She only had one drink. I assume that wouldn't be enough to make her drunk. Her breath smelled of alcohol.
"ImatiredofallthisAPOCOLYPSE SHTUFF!" She said, words tumbling from her mouth in a rush of barely distinguishable syllables.
I don't know the protocol for handling a drunk woman...
"Did'ja knoww! You gots blue eyesh..." She said, patting my face gently.
I grabbed a hold of her wrists to make her stop.
"Gerroff a meeee!" She said, weakly struggling to free herself. "Leggo!
"Lower your voice!" I whispered harshly.
"Lemme goooo!" She yelled. I let her go. I had to go see Dean, but I couldn't just leave her here... I grabbed her arm and dragged her somewhere private. She put up a fight, but her attempt were futile. I picked her with one arm and vanished. (Like how adults pick up toddlers)
Dean stood there. I placed a hand on his shoulder and Dean was back in bed. He jolted up.
I stand near the foot of the bed, still holding Alice. She had apparently fallen asleep.
"I couldn't stop any of it! She still made the deal. She still died in the nursery, didn't she?" Dean asked, distraught.
"Don't be too hard on yourself. You couldn't have stopped it." I said, trying to ease his distress and displeasure with himself.
"What?" Dean asked sternly, standing up.
"Destiny can't be changed, Dean. All roads lead to the same destination." I explained.
'Then why'd you send me back?" Dean asked, slight anger in his tone.
"For the truth. Now you know everything we do." I said.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Dean asks impatiently. "And why the hell are you holding my sister?!"
I look at the Sam's bed which hasn't been slept in, Sam had his own since Dean and Alice shared a bed. Dean followed my gaze towards the bed.
"Where's Sam?" Dean asked sternly.
"We know what Azazel did to your brother. What we don't know is why – what his endgame is. He went to great lengths to cover that up..." I explained.
"Where's Sam?!" Dean asked again impatiently.
"425 Waterman." I replied.
Dean grabbed his keys and his jacket.
"And why the hell, are you holding my sister?!" Dean asked again, angrily.
"She got drunk. She's asleep right now. You brother is headed down a dangerous road, Dean, and we're not sure where it leads. So stop it. Or we will." I said, seriously.
I FINISHED IT! :D I tried to make it longer~
Sam has started his dangerous path of hunter rebellion and Dean is gonna bite off Castiel's head for getting his baby sister drunk! More to come in the next chapter!
