From the moment Izuru had had his meltdown, Gin knew that this pregnancy would be very different from the first.

The next four months the family's daily lives were frequented by violent episodes of puking, drastic mood swings, and slightly odd cravings, all on Izuru's part.

Finally, the lieutenant reached his fifth month, which meant a gender check. So, Izuru had an ultrasound at the infirmary, chiefly for the aforementioned option, but also for a monthly check-up.

The baby actually kicked so hard at times that it was all poor Izuru could do not to flinch. As they waited for the machine to turn on, it did just that. The lieutenant winced and reflexively squeezed Gin's hand a little.

Hana chuckled. "I thought we'd have to wake her up, but it looks like she's up and around."

Izuru smiled weakly. "I think she's just woken up." Lately, they'd been referring to the child as a girl just randomly.

"I'm never having children," Navi muttered. "It looks like everything is fine."

"She's pretty active," Hana commented.

"Ah, it actually is a girl," said Gin.

"Congrats, you two." Another rough kick.

"A… a little sister?" Rai asked, taken aback.

Izuru nodded, smiling at the innocence of his two kids. Gin chuckled.

"Wow," Ayumu said, giggling.

The twins were excited. Gin was excited. Even Izuru wasn't quite as stressed as he could have been.
