Unequal

Chapter 12: Siblings

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

Recap:

"She made my life a living hell."

"And how was that?" Izaya asked raising an eyebrow at me,

"She killed my mom."

After I said that, I side glanced and saw that he had a slight glint of amusement in his eyes.

"Your real mom?" he asked,

"No."

"Why didn't you say 'adopted mom'?"

"What?"

"That's what you've been calling your adoptive parents all this time, so what did you expect me to think?"

"You really think I spent seconds of my days adding 'adopted' in the front of my parents names?"

"I wouldn't put it past you." He said looking seriously at me.

" 'Adopted mom I want a panda.' or 'Adopted dad, your fly is down.' You don't think that's a little too weird?"

"That's why I wouldn't put it past you."

"I called them mum and dad." He shrugged as we continued to walk.

"What did you call Sayuri?"

"Adopted step mom Sayuri." He gave me a 'really?' type look, "Yes, I did. At first I used to call her Ms. Sayuri, but after she became my step mother, Dad thought I should call her mom, and so I gave her that title."

"But you did just say that's weird."

"Well yeah, but I hardly spoke to her or called her, and that got on her nerves so I just called her that." That is when I remembered one incident that took place when I was fourteen.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

Eight years ago (Age 15)

"Hey honey. Slept well?" Sayuri asked my dad, ignoring my presence. My dad and I were in the dining room enjoying each others company when Sayuri walked in.

"Yes, I did." my dad answered while smiling at her. Noticing the invariable awkward tension between Sayuri and I he gave me a light smile which hinted 'maybe you should say good morning."

"...G'mornin' " I said.

"Oh are you talking to me?" Sayuri asked

"Uh, yes."

"Oh." She said,

"So your not going to say it back?" I asked,

"I didn't?" she asked,.

"No." Both me and my father stated.

"Good morning." she said with a slight smirk. I just gave my dad the 'this is why I don't bother' look. He sighed and shock his head, before he perked up.

"Hey, why don't you two spend a full day one of these days? Why not tomorrow. Some mother daughter bonding!" My dad said smiling, at what happens to be the worst idea possible.

"Sorry I can't." Sayuri said looking into a mirror and applying her mascara.

"Me neither." I replied.

"Uh, why not?" my dad asked slightly annoyed.

"I can't afford to waste a day." Sayuri said,

"What?" said my father,

"And I just don't like her."

"Wait you guys-" my father replied to my comment before Sayuri had cut him off.

"Well maybe I don't want to spend most of my days explaining to people that your not an illegal immigrant trying to pick pocket me!"

And I said, "Well I feel sorry for Rei who always has to explain that your her mom and not her granny!"

"Come here you little-!"

"Show my what got granny."

"And with that, Granny and I fought in the dinning room while my dad tried to break it up." I told Izaya. He just shrugged and sat down. I sat down in front of him Indian style. At that moment we arrived at my home and Jewell already dashed to her room.

"How many siblings do you have?" Izaya asked interested,

"Uh...four." I said still pondering as if not sure if I was correct. "Well, their not actually, my, well you real sib- Anyway so how many do you have? Do you even have any?" I asked him actually really curious, while Jewell came out of her room and placed her plastic table between Izaya and I.

"Two lovely twin kid-sisters." he replied in a slightly creepy voice.

"Oh, wow. It's kind of amusing imagining you being a big brother."

"I wasn't that bad." Izaya said giving me a wide grin. Jewell then came back out of her room and placed there plastic tea cups and plates and the plastic table before skipping away.

"Ha."

"I had to take care of them most of the time because my parents usually worked abroad." He said sort of bragging in a way. I raised an eyebrow at him while he just shrugged. "But how about you sister-wise?" he asked before Jewell placed a toy crown on my head, Izaya's and hr's and sat down

"Well, right now I could only remember two of their names; but when I did, I had to take care of them too. Just more like a maid in a way." I said hoping that would give him a clue. We stared at each other with challenging glares before we both cracked up and started snickering.

"Do you want sugar in your tea ?" Jewell asked,

"Uh, we're having a tea party?" I sort of asked analyzing my surroundings in which I had ignored. I glanced at Jewell who just continued to 'pour tea' in my cup. "And we're sitting on the floor?" I asked kind of, confused. I then looked at Izaya in a bewildered way as well. He just ignored me and took a sip of his imaginary tea. I looked at him even stranger. "You and her planned this." I accused.

"Says who (Y/N)-chan?"

"No wonder you sat on the floor."

"Why did you sit on the floor?"

"I-I-I Wellllll, I kind of find my carpeted kind of comfy." I explained... "But anyway we haven't had a tea party in a while..." I said picking up my princess cup, before he said:

"Nice crown (Y/N)-Chan."

"Like wise Izaya, Like wise."

"Be quiet and drink your tea, mommy."
