Chapter 13: Sunday Dinner

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

"I don't know why, but Jewell's been watching this show lately and it's a little creepy?" I told Izaya. I don't know why I was confiding in him.

"What's it about?" Izaya asked quite intrigued.

"It's about a yellow cleaning product who hangs out with this weird pink starfish." I replied.

"And that's creepy-"

"Because I got hooked on it too." I stated before Izaya looked at me blankly. He then turned his attention to the front door. I gave him a confused look before I heard a knock. 'How'd he do that?' I thought looking at him even stranger. I sat there, however, not answering the door. Why? Because Izaya is already here. And Kyoshi and Daisuke had a special case called 'Ring door bell until (Y/N)'s head explodes or just barge in'.

I got up and made my way to the door. I looked through the peep hole, and realizing who it was, I opened the door.

"Hey (Y/N)." Rei greeted.

"Hey." I said kind of surprised and curious. But before I asked her how'd she know where I live, I remembered how easy it is to find someone who looks like me in this area. Especially someone who isn't hiding underground. "What are you doing here?" I asked stepping aside to invite her in.

"I just wanted to invite you to dinner. Oh, and did I mention how easy it is to find where you live?" She asked looking quite concerned.

"Uh, yeah. I guess so."

"You should really consider mo-"

"Yeah, I figured as much."

"No, Like it is really easy-"

"I get it, alright." I replied to her annoyed.. "Okay. So when do you want to have dinner?"

"This Sunday... At Dad's house." She answered me.

"Wait-"

"Oh, hey Izaya! Maybe you should come too." She said to Izaya, while cutting me off in the process.

"Can I (Y/N)-Chan?" Izaya asked. Knowing full well, even if I said no he was going to tag along anyway.

"Whatever." I said.

"Great! I'll see you then." Rei said turning around to leave. "See you guys later. Oh! And nice place... But you should really consider mo-"

"Alright! Bye~" I said walking her out then closing the door. I stood at the door and sighed. Why'd I have to put myself in this situation.

"You don't know what you got yourself into." Izaya said snickering.

"Oh, I know. That's the stupid part of all of this." I explained.

"Do you think you're mentally prepared for this, tomorrow?" He asked smirking.

"Wait. Tomorrow is Sunday?" I asked him scratching my head.

"Yes. You have something to do tomorrow, (Y/N)-Chan?"

"No. But I hate it when people do that. If its tomorrow, just say tomorrow. She made me feel that I had like four days to prepare." Izaya just shrugged. "But it does feel like a Wednesday."

"No it has more of a Friday feel to it today."

"No...it's more of a Wednesday."

"So why do you want me to come?"

"I never invited you."

"But you didn't tell me no."

"Well mainly because you'll take more of the attention off of me, and Jewell if your there. Trust me. I'll need you." I said thinking of the benefits of having Izaya there. Number one: They'll interrogate him more than me. Number two: With him there, it'll be a 3% chance that everyone will leave the dinner table unharmed.

Sunday

The sweet smell of a Sunday afternoon. Well, I can only think that because I'm exited about what's going to happen today. I haven't seen my family in like, four years. It should be interesting shouldn't it? There's just so much to look forward to. The glances that will be shot at me when I sit at the table. The snobbishness of Sayuri and her side of the family. Or the jaw dropping-ness of my dad and other siblings when they meet Jewell. And many, many more.

But we were already in the taxi so no turning back now. Even though I did try to run away, Izaya pushed me back into the taxi, and Jewell jumped into my lap so I was stuck. My family didn't live in Ikebukuro. They Lived in Otsuka, Toshima. So yes it was going to be one hell of a drive. The long mainly consisted of either me pouting; Jewell humming; Izaya and I bickering; Jewell sleeping and Izaya and I laughing at stupid things we saw on the ride.

Finally we had arrived at my dad's home. "Looks like somebody expanded." I said referring to the gigantic house that stood before me. Jewell was awake now, so she looked in awe.

"It's not to late to leave (Y/N)-chan." Izaya said smirking at me. At that moment I took that as a personal challenge. I glared at him before I made my march to the front door. I raised my arm towards the door fixing to knock on it. And in that moment of truth...I cracked.

"Okay, never mind." I said walking (running) back to the taxi. But it just so happens it left. *Knock Knock* I heard before I turned around to see that Izaya had knocked on the door. I sighed and walked back up to the door. I had Jewell's hand in mine.

"Hello. May I help you?" An unfamiliar figured asked. By the attire I guessed it was ...a butler?

"Hi. I'm (Y/N) Masahiro." I stated. The young butler looked me over.

"Right this way." He said leading the three of us to dinning room. And as expected. It began. The staring. I just gave a cheesy smile while giving everyone in the room eye contact one by one. My older sister Yuuna; My older brother Minoru; My eldest brother Junichi. And my dad.

"You guys came!" Rei said running up to us. "Surprise!" She said to my family who were seated and looking at awe at us

"Well long time no see (Y/N)-chan." Minoru said. Minoru is second eldest. He's 27. He has straight dark brown hair and light brown eyes. He was always very charming. Even though we did have the typical sibling fights, I would say he was the more amiable one. Yuuna is two years older than me. She has long dark brown hair and black eyes. She is more of the...well you'll figure that out along the way. And Junichi was the quiet one. He's the oldest. (age:29) He has straight black hair and slanted light brown eyes. He's not quiet because he's shy or anything. He's just really, really nonchalant.

"This is Izaya-kun." Rei said. He just gave a pleasant smile.

"Hello." He said.

"Hey." Minoru said shaking Izaya's hand. Junichi did the same as well as my dad. Yuuna just waved and gave a big smile.

"And this is (Y/N)'s daughter Jewell." She said introducing Jewell. All the stares that were directed at me then moved from Izaya to Jewell.

"Oh my God." Yuuna said getting up from her seat. "You're so cute~ Yes you are~ Aw~" Yunna said bending to Jewell's height and talking in a baby like voice.

"I think she's ill momma." Jewell said leaning in closer to me, but giving Yuuna a sheepish smile. My dad gave me a hug and gave me a smile. I could tell by the look on his face that there were the emotions of happiness, guilt and confusion.

I returned the smile, until he asked "So, Is this your husband?"

"W-"

"No. He's jut her friend. I invited him too. I thought it would make (Y/N) more comfortable to have a friend here." Rei explained. It made sense.

"This is my girlfriend and daughter." Minoru said introducing them to me. "Hoshi and Chiharu." Hoshi was a pretty girl. I'm guessing she was around Minoru's age. She had light brown hair and dark brown eyes. Chiharu was such a cutie. She looked like was Jewell's age. She had dark brown hair and light brown eye just like her Minuro.

"Hi." I said shaking Hoshi's hand and giving Chiharu a hug. I see Jewell pouting and glaring at Chiharu. She wasn't use to seeing my hug another little girl at all so I could understand her cute jealous pouting. The evening so far, was going good.

"Come and sit." My dad said. But before we could be seated, two other figures appeared. And the atmosphere switched.

"What the hell?" I heard a familiar voice say behind me. I turned around and saw that it was Sayuri and her daughter Mei. Mei was Yuuna's age. She had brown hair and dark brown eyes. The same as Rei. Sayuri however had black hair and dark brown eyes. Mei is my step sister. Her and Rei has different fathers. Her's being from Sayuri's 'first marriage'. And Rei's being my father. Mei and Sauri took their seats, eye's still fixated on us. Mei then 'humphed' and turned her head away. Sayuri still glared at me, Izaya and Jewell. I just rolled my eyes, Izaya smirked and Jewell was still glaring at Chiharu. Dad fixed the seating arrangements. At one end of the table was my father. I sat on his left, and next to me was Jewell, Izaya, Rei, Mei and at the other end of the table was Sayuri. Next to her was Hoshi, Chiharu, Minoru, Yuuna, and then Junichi siting to dad's right.

So everyone was seated. The awkward silence filled the room as the food was being served.

"So, where have you been these four years (Y/N)." Mei said raising an eyebrow at me.

"I've been living in Ikebukuro." I answered.

"So what do you do?" Junichi asked.

"Oh, I'm an accountant at law firm." I stated.

"And you. What do you do?" Junichi asked looking at Izaya.

Izaya smirked before he answered. "I run a freelance business."

"That's really nice." My dad said smiling at the both of us.

"Typical." Sayuri said as all heads turned in her direction. "So you're not even the least bit angry at her? All of you are so spoiled." Sayuri said referring to Junichi, me, Minuro and Yuuna. "Especially Ms. M.I.A over there." She said in my direction.

"I never heard so much bull shit in my life? I'm spoiled. Ha!" I said. "You guy's were sure to make my life a living hell as if it was job." I continued as the room fell silent. I looked at the faces of my siblings. Everyone of them looked down in guilt. Sayuri just rolled her eyes.

"(Y/N)... Listen I'm sorry. I treated you awful." Junichi said looking at me sad. "I should of treated you like a sister. And In all honesty I think all of us felt terrible when you left because we thought it was our fault."

"I don't know bout those two (referring to Junichi and Yuuna) but I did cry, after you left. I guess the guilt was eating me alive." Minuro stated. " I know it sounds cheesy but I did. I realized how it would hurt you, but I would just brush it off. And I guess I didn't expect you to actually leave...I'm sorry." After I heard that I heard some one sniffling in the corner. It was Yuuna. She was trying to hold back her tears by pouting.

"I-I'm sorry too. You know, all those times I told people you weren't my sister and that you were just a house slave. Or all those times I tricked you into doing my chores. Or those times I blamed things on you- I should stop there. But you still acted nice to us no matter what fucked up thing we did to you. But I'm really sorry." She said looking at me for forgiveness. I was not the type to keep grudges, so I gave them a faint smile to show that I do forgive them.

Sayuri yawned. Everyone looked at her. "What? Do you wanna apologize for you're crappy behavior too?" Junichi asked irritated.

"No." she said. I saw the amused look on Izaya's face. "You guy's are so damn pathetic. 'Oh I'm sorry. shouldn't of-' Blah Blah Blah. I was right. You were spoiled tell you guys grew weak." Sayuri stated.

"We're spoiled?! When was the last time your daughters picked up a broom? Or better yet when was the first time?" Yunna shouted.

"Hey you leave poor Rei out of this. It isn't her fault she was given a demon as a mother and sister" I stated.

"It's bad enough she still has to live with her." Junichi mumbled to himself even though everyone heard.

"No one's answered my question yet." Yuuna stated

"When your mom died." Mei said while everyone's eyes were fixated on Mei.

"Um, I'm going to take Chiharu to the bathroom." Hoshi stated while carrying her daughter to the bathroom despite her daughter protesting that he didn't need to. And Izaya leaned back in his chair giving off this 'Let the show begin' feeling.

"What did you just say you sloopy bitch?" Yuuna said standing up. Now you're going to see the real Yuuna. I personally believe out of Sayuri's children, Rei was the smart one because she knew not to test Yuuna.

"Aw, did she bring up poor Tamiko?" Sayuri said in a fake pout.

Even though Junichi, Minuro, even my Dad and I wanted to punch Mei and Sayuri in the mouth for bringing up my late mom, we knew Yuuna was more than enough.

"Say it again." Yuuna dared Mei and Sayuri.

"When you're mother died." Mei said. Yuuna with out hesitation picked up a bowl filled with soup and threw it at Mei . You could tell Yuuna aimed to miss because she always had a straight hand. Mei still, however, continued to test Yuuna. Yuuna then picked up and empty glass cup and threw it at Mei's head. That time she aimed to kill. Mei, just in the luck of time bent her head down enough to dodge ot.

"What are you trying to do kill me?" Mei screamed before she threw a plate at Yuuna.

"Whatever it takes." Yuuna said dodging the plate. And in a blink of an eye she ran to Mei and, fueled by anger, Yuuna started wailing on her. Mei was screaming and trying to fight back. Minuro then decided to break up the fight.

"You stupid bitch!" Mei said trying to gently touch her face that was hurting and bleeding before she stomped away pissed off. Yuuna sat down still enraged.

"Sayuri, you really need to stop being so damn disrespectful. You and Mei." My dad said.

" What are you going to do?" Sayuri said testing my dad's very humble character.

"Well... Even though I swore I would never hit a woman, I wouldn't mind slapping the shit out of a bitch right now. And you're acting exactly like one." My dad said. My father, although middle aged, looked young for his age. He has dark brown hair and black eyes. And he is a very kind gentleman, however I could see that Sayuri finally pushed it too far. Sayuri snorted and started laughing.

"Whatever." Sayuri said. "I'll go to a restaurant to eat today I believe." Sayuri said getting up from her seat.

"Yeah you do that." Minuro say shooing her. She glared at him before she continued to exit the large dinning room.

"Rei, lets go." Sayuri said.

"I think I'm gonna stay." Rei said, which cause Sayuri to glare at her before she turned back around and left. At that moment the table grew quiet for a minute. But afterwards everyone began to eat and we all started having little conversations. Occasionally we were laughing. And the rest of the evening was very peach, until we left.

Preview of next chapter:

"So, you're saying you would help me prove it?" I asked Izaya.

"Oh but of course." He said smirking before he left.
