A/N: so when I wrote this it was right after my ROTC camp and I was expecting to post it shortly after that but a lot came up as I'm starting a new position in my core so I have new responsibilities.. I wrote this chapter in a different point of view so i want you guys to let me know if you like it or not. I also changed back to the usual point of view after a winkle so I could do a certain part of the chapter...plus its really hard to write in this point of view. If you're reading any of my other stories I'm sorry I haven't updated them but there's two weeks before school starts and I'm hoping to update all of them in that time. On ya go to chapter 6.
Chapter 6: Hanyous Caught On Camera
Natsuki's POV:
I was sitting on a rock watching mom talk with the three girls that walked up not to long ago. With the bonnet on my head I couldn't hear what they were saying but I could see their lips moving. They were talking about Uncle Miroku and Aunty Sango that much I know. When dad looked back at me for the fourth time since the ladies walked up I got bored of not doing anything and irritated that I couldn't take this stupid bonnet off. I stood up and skipped over to them, my hair flying out behind me. When I stopped next to dad he smiled down at me and picked me up, setting me down on his knee.
"Well she certainly is a daddy's girl." The girl in the middle said as I leaned back against him.
"That she is but its good. At least she has a dad." Mom answered. I knew mom lost her dad when she was little and by the stories mom told about dad, he lost both of his parents.
"Well then, Natsuki, is it?" The girl on the far left asked. When I nodded she continued. "I'm Eri, this is Ayumi, and this is Yuka. We're your mothers friends."
"Yeah I guessed that already." I mumbled under my breath. I felt dad chuckle, he obviously heard what I said and found it amusing. He leaned down a bit near my ears and whispered only so I could hear,
"They annoy me too." Before kissing the top of my head and leaning back against the bench again. Now that I was closer I could hear their conversation but it was still kinda muffled by the bonnet.
"So Kagome, you never said why you were back in Japan."
"We're going to have a family photo taken here. My mom knows a great photographer in the area. He took the picture of my family that's in our front room." Mom looked back to Taku and Sumi to see if they were okay. I looked back too and saw Taku building a little house out of sticks, mud, and leaves, while Sumi was carving in a tree with her claws.
"Mom when can we go back to the shrine?" I asked bluntly, not caring to hear these ladies talk anymore.
"Uh, InuYasha, why don't you take the kids back to the house. I'll meet you back there later." He nodded and stood up, still holding me.
"Call your brother and sister kiddo." He said as he put me on his shoulders. I smiled and yelled,
"Hey Taku, Sumi, let's go. We're going home."
"Stop calling me that." I heard Sumi yell back and she grabbed Taku's arm and pulled him over to us. Before we left dad bent over and gave mom a kiss on the cheek and whispered,
"Don't forget about that promise earlier." And walked away. By the time we finally made it back to the shrine dad had carried Taku in his arms and he had fallen asleep. I had jumped off and was now walking next to Sumi, by dad's sword. He opened the door and walked in, waiting for me and Sumi before closing it. He led us into a room down the hall where he put Taku in the bed. "Hey, you two go in the front room and watch tv for a while." He put the bags down in the room and walked upstairs. Sumi grabbed and book and walked out to sit on the couch and I went to find Uncle Sota. I walked outside and found him by the hose.
"Hey Uncle Sota."
"Hey Natsuki. Is Kagome back yet?"
"No she stayed talking to her friends. Dads back inside. I think he went upstairs to mom's old room."
"Makes sense, so do you need something?"
"Entertainment, I'm bored and Taku is asleep and Sumi is reading."
"Okay then, what do you wanna do while we wait for Kagome to come back?" I shrugged,
"Anything, I could help you and your grandpa around the shrine. I don't mind working."
"Okay then, I have some chores to do then once those are done I can take you up to my room and we can play a board game."
We worked on chores for about a half hour before going up to his room and starting a game of checkers. He explained to me how to play and I got the hang of it pretty fast. As I was setting up the board for our fifth game dad walked in and said.
"Hey Natsuki, your grandma what's to know if you wanted to help cook dinner." I nodded and stood up as Uncle Sota smiled.
"Thanks InuYasha, she's kicking my butt in checkers." He nodded and laughed a little.
"Sota, Kagome's back, did you call your friends for dinner to meet her?"
"Yeah, they said they'd get here around six."
"Well its 5:45 now so you might want to prepare for their arrival."
As said Uncle Sota's friends knocked on the door at six o'clock before dad let them in. He was carrying me when he answered the door and mom was sitting in the kitchen waiting for everyone to come downstairs. There were three boys that walked in before dad shut the door. Walking into the kitchen the tallest boy said,
"Hey Mrs. H, where's Sota?" She responded to the boy, as if he spoke to her in this way all the time.
"Why hello to you too Hiroshi. Sota's up in his room."
"Thanks," the boy, now to be known as Hiroshi, said. He walked up the stairs leaving the other two boys to gawk at mom.
"Oh yes, Kagome, these are Sota's friends, Riku and Jirô Wada and the other boy that went to get your brother was Hiroshi Suzuki. Riku, Jirô this is Kagome." She stood up and smiled at them as dad walked up and put his arm around her waist protectively.
"Its a pleasure to meet you both." She said. They looked her up and down as I jumped down from dad's arms and stepped on their feet.
"She's taken stop it." I pouted before going into the front room with Sumi. Taku had come out of the room about five minutes ago and was ready for dinner to start.
Once the dinner was over Uncle Sota got Hiroshi to stay the night. The boy was taller than Sota and unlike the other boys he knew how to show respect a woman. When he had met mom at dinner he bowed his head and shook her hand. He called mom "Kagome-Senpai" and kept his eyes on her face. We were all in the front room and Hiroshi was asking mom and dad questions about us and how they'd met and stuff.
"Your kids look about six or seven Kagome-Senpai. Have they started school yet?" Dad just looked at mom who answered simply.
"They won't be starting school for a few years at least."
"How are they so smart if they're not in school then?"
"They're around me, lady Kaede, and their aunt and uncle 24/7. How could they not be so smart." By the third time that Taku and Sumi had yawned grandmother spoke from her place on the couch.
"Its getting late, I think its about time we turn in for the night. After all Kagome, you and InuYasha have that photo appointment in the morning." Mom stood up and smiled down at Sumi who was asleep on the couch curled in a blanket with Taku against her side. Dad stood up too and walked towards the back room to put me to sleep.
Kagome POV:
We walked up the stairs towards my room after putting the kids to sleep in the guest room. InuYasha had his arm around my waist and as we reached my room he whispered,
"Promise time." I opened the door and closed it behind him. He pushed me up against it, locking it with a soft click, and crashing his lips against mine. He then picked me up bridal style and placed me on my bed. He straddled me, slipping his hands under my shirt he began to kiss down my neck, stopping on my collar bone. As he was doing this he was moving his hands across my stomach. I felt a faint burning when his hand glided over the area just above my hipbone and gasped. Once he realized what I did he moved his back. As the burning feeling grew I moaned involuntarily and quickly covered my mouth. InuYasha smiled down at me and laughed,
"Oh shut up." I whispered trying not to wake anyone.
"Make me." He retorted before kissing me and playing with the spot. It was only then that I realized why he was paying that particular spot so much attention, it was my mates mark.
I woke up the next morning at around 6 am to InuYasha poking at my ears.
"What're you doing?" I asked.
"Nothing." I rolled over so I was hovering over him. Grabbed his ears and started petting them with my fingers. "Hey cut it out." He shouted grabbing my hands and holding them to his chest. I saw an opportunity and I slide a finger across his collarbone until I hit his mates mark. He took a sharp breath but before we could really go anywhere there was a knock on my door.
"Yeah?" I said a bit confused.
"Mummy?" I heard Takumi's voice and immediately got up and opened the door.
"Yes sweetie," I said as I bent down to his level, "what's wrong?"
"Grandmother said we have our pictures in an hour and I'm hungry." I nodded,
"Are your sisters awake yet?"
"Yeah we are, just waiting on you and dad." Sumiko said as she walked around the corner. "We should probably have breakfast before we get ready for the pictures just so Takumi doesn't get something on his kimono."
"Okay I'll be down in a minute to make breakfast.". They both nodded and Takumi ran down the stairs but Sumiko stayed put. "Do you need anything else Sumiko?"
"You guys are louder than you think." She said before walking away. I rolled my eyes but looked at InuYasha who was already dressed in his robe of the fire rat. "You can't stand to be out of that can you?"
"Nope, its better when I have it on and you know it." I smiled and got dressed in one of my kimonos. This one was a deep shade of red, almost a burgundy colour, with cherry blossoms on it.
When we got downstairs only mom and the kids were awake.
"Everyone okay with rice, eggs, and duck with soy sauce?"
"Yeah." They all answered in unison. I laughed and got to cooking.
By the time everyone had eaten it was 6:30 so I went into the guest room to help the kids get dressed. Sumiko was wearing a pure white kimono with black trim, Natsuki was wearing a pure black kimono with golden cherry blossoms like mine, and finally, Takumi was wearing a dark grey kimono, like his hair, with black squares on it. By the time we left the house it was 6:45 and our pictures were at 7. Once we got to the building we had to wait a few minutes before the man started taking our pictures.
About halfway through he noticed InuYasha's Tetsusaiga and said,
"Sir hows about you draw your sword there and pretend you're protecting your family." InuYasha looked at me and I nodded. The look on the photographers face when InuYasha drew his Tetsusaiga was priceless. InuYasha moved to a battle stance and the man took a few pictures before finishing our shoot. Once InuYasha sheathed Tetsusaiga again the man visibly relaxed as he charged us for the photos.
"Your pictures should be ready in a few days. Should I call the woman who set up your appointment once they're ready?"
"Yes please." I said before picking up Takumi and walking out with InuYasha on my tail.
