A/N: I'm aware a lot of you are probably rubbing your eyes wondering if you're actually seeing an update for this story, either that or you've lost interest all together. First off I sincerely apologise for leaving this story unfinished for so long. A quick update on what's een happening in my life; well I was in my final year of uni, graduated, started working, had to come out of work because of back pain, was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, on a waiting list for surgery to fix that, moved into my own place with my girlfriend, got engaged to my gf of three years and we got a puppy! Now we're all caught up on with the story because let's face it that's hy you're really here.

Note that this is unbeta'd so there may be mistakes and also I don't own skins

It seemed to Naomi that she had blinked and all of a sudden it was the day before the wedding. Wasn't it only yesterday that she had been dancing and doing shots with Cook at the engagement party? She was fairly certain there were supposed to be a few weeks in between those events but they seemed to have vanished in a flurry of dress fittings and frantic phone calls from Katie. Sudden or not it really was the eve of her wedding to Emily and her fiancée was currently packing her over night essentials and clothes for the morning after the wedding into her overnight bag. It wouldn't be long until Katie arrived to pick her twin sister up and leave Effy in her place. There had been much discussion about it but in the end, after much insistence from Katie, it was decided that the Fitch twins would be spending the night before the wedding in Katie and Effy's apartment leaving Naomi and Effy to fend for themselves in the house.

"Is there anything else you think we need for Sunday?" Emily asked. Naomi frowned and shook her head, Emily seemed to have everything covered.

"If we forget anything I'm sure Katie can intimidate some poor hotel worker into getting it for us," she laughed, since the start of all this wedding planning stuff she had learned that her future sister-in-law was a force to be reckoned with. When Emily was satisfied she had packed all she would need they moved downstairs to wait.

"Can you believe it? We're getting married tomorrow!" Emily could hardly sit still, bouncing gently on the couch, she was ready to burst with excitement.

"I know," Naomi smiled, part from her own excitement but more so because she could see how happy her fiancée was.

"Have you got everything ready for tomorrow?" she asked. She was so used to being the organised one that she couldn't help but worry Naomi might forget something without her there to remind her.

"Yes," Naomi rolled her eyes. She had not been too pleased when she was given a list of things to do/remember the night before the wedding by both Fitch twins. Admittedly Emily's was worded much nicer, it even had little hearts for bullet points and kisses at the end.

"Sorry," she said sincerely, sensing her fiancée's tone.

"It's fine," Naomi shrugged, truth was she'd probably end up lost of being late without the lists; well Emily's list at least.

"I think that's them," Emily said with a sigh as headlights lit up the living room. Naomi stood up and pulled the smaller girl into her arms and held her tight. They stayed like that until the doorbell rang.

"I guess you really have to leave now," Naomi pouted.

"It's just one night and then this time tomorrow you will officially be my wife!" she beamed, leaning up to kiss Naomi. The doorbell rang again and they reluctantly broke apart, Naomi moved to open the door.

"God, you're getting married tomorrow, couldn't you have waited until your honeymoon to shag?" Katie scoffed disgustedly.

"We weren't having sex!" Emily rolled her eyes.

"Then what took so bloody long?" she sneered.

"I was just taking my time to goodbye to my fiancée before she becomes my wife," Naomi snarked back, her patience with Katie was worn to its last thread with all the last minute phone calls.

"13 hours! You're going to be apart for 13 hours!" Katie pointed out impatiently. "Me and Eff are going to be apart for the exact same amount of time but you don't see us saying goodbye like one of us was going of to war!"

"Hmm...Are you this nice to all your clients the day before their wedding?" Naomi jibbed.

"Alright ladies, back in your corners," Effy intervened before there was blood shed. "Katie cut them some slack, it's the night before their wedding, they're just excited. And Naomi get a hold of yourself, you'll see Emily tomorrow; she'll be the one walking towards you in the white dress."

Both Katie and Naomi looked suitably scolded and Emily was impressed by how Effy had handled the situation; she'd have to find out what her secret was.

"Shall we get going then?" Katie turned her attention to her sister. "I'm sure you'll want a nice soak in the tub before a full night's beauty sleep."

"Yeah, I'm ready. My bag's by the door," Emily nodded. She stepped forward to say goodbye to Effy. "Keep an eye on her for me," she said softly into her ear. Effy nodded and smiled in response. Emily moved on to plant one last, long, lingering kiss on Naomi's lips.

"The next time we kiss we will be married, our first kiss as a married couple," Naomi said with a smile when their lips parted.

"It better be just as good as that one," Emily grinned.

Katie opened her mouth to once again voice her views on the use of excessive tongue in kisses during the ceremony but Effy nudged her in the ribs before she could get a word out then quickly pulled her in for a kiss before she could complain about the assault.

"Try to keep calm and enjoy your sister's wedding!" she reminded her. "You're a bridesmaid before a wedding planner."

"I will," Katie assured her. Effy gave her a sceptical look. "...try," she tacked on making Effy smile and pull her in for another hug before she left.

Katie's huge and fancy apartment had an equally huge and fancy bathroom; classic black and white tiles lined the walls with matching black floor tiles, the white porcelain sink was sunk into a shiny black counter and there was a separate walk in shower. An avid fan of a good soak in the tub with a glass of wine by candlelight, Katie had splashed out and had a very large jacuzzi tub fitted to set it all off. Emily considered this a small consolation for having to spend the night without Naomi. She filled it up with gloriously hot water and lots of jasmine scented bubbles. With the flick of a switch beside the taps the jets kicked in, massaging her tired muscles and creating even more bubbles. She relaxed and leant her head back, her neck resting on the cool ceramic edge of the bath, and thought about the wedding the next day. It seemed crazy to think that come tomorrow she would be Mrs Emily Fitch Campbell.

In her mind she travelled all the way back to the first time she had ever seen Naomi and that drunken kiss in that poxy middle school party. She remembered seeing her again on the first day of college and the day they had spent by the lake. It hadn't always been a smooth road for them but they had stuck it out and it had led them to where they were now; about to stand up in front of all their nearest and dearest and vow to be together for the rest of their lives, she couldn't wait. Katie had been working her ass off, pulling out all the stops, to make sure her twin's wedding would be nothing short of spectacular and Emily had every confidence that would be exactly what the day was.

When she had finished in the bathroom and Katie had enjoyed an hour long soak they lay up on the couch together with matching towel turbans and a glass of white wine. Katie was frantically typing a text message to Leo at the wedding venue; one last message and then it was out of her hands.

"Ok, I'm done. Everything is sorted," she announced dropping her phone onto the seat beside her.

"I really can't thank you enough for all this Katie." Emily couldn't quite put into words how grateful she was to her sister for all the effort she had put in. Planing the wedding, especially at such short notice was no east feat, but with Katie's well founded and well placed contacts and her patented bossy demanding attitude she had managed to pull it off. Not to mention her incredible gift of the perfect venue.

"It was nothing," she shrugged of the praise. It might have been hard work but she hadn't minded, she was more than happy to put the extra effort in when it came to her sister. Not to mention the thrill she got from only having 5 months to get everything organised. She loved her job at the best of times but getting to plan this wedding was extra special.

"No. I'm serious. There's no way we would have managed to plan anything this perfect without you," she insisted.

"Well you're welcome," the older twin smiled. "I wanted it to be a special day for you and Naomi."

"It will be, I know it will be."

They finished their wine and girly movie then Katie declared it was time for bed as they needed to be well rested and fresh faced for the next day.

"Make up can only do so much," she stated, ushering her sister towards the bedrooms.

"Are you nervous?" Effy asked as she watched her friend pick at the label of her bottle of beer.

"No," she answered just a little bit too forcefully.

Effy said nothing, simply raised her eyebrow and took a sip from her beer.

"Not really. I mean I'm not nervous about marrying Emily. I can't wait to marry Emily!" she insisted. "I mean I'm sort of worried I do something stupid or embarrassing in front of everyone we know. I just want the day to be perfect for Emily, you know?"

Effy cooed teasingly at the sickly sweet sentiment. "It will be."

"But what if..."

"It will be," she assured her. "Do you really think Katie will settle for anything being less than perfect?"

They shared a chuckle knowing that the last few weeks with Katie had made the early days of planning the wedding seem like a walk in the park. Hardly a day had passed without her calling them at least twice to discuss last minute arrangements or finalise then double and triple check the important details. It had drove both the betrothed couple and Effy mad at times. Effy was quite looking forward to the wedding being over so she could have her girlfriend's undivided attention again.

"Besides," Effy continued, "Emily is going to think tomorrow is perfect because she's marrying you. That's the most important thing to her; everything else is just a nice bonus."

"Thanks Eff!" she smiled; the nervously flapping butterflies in her stomach momentarily stilled by her friends comforting words.

"It's Katie you need to worry about, not Emily," she added playfully in an attempt to lighten the mood.

"Well I'll just have to hope that my Maid of Honour uses her feminine whiles to appease her should anything turn out to be less than perfect."

"Your Maid of Honour will be more than happy to do that!" Effy smirked. Naomi turned up her nose and gave the brunette a little shove.

"Do you want another?" she asked, shaking her empty beer bottle. "Are we allowed another?" she asked jokingly, knowing Katie had probably laid down some rules about drinking on the eve of the big day.

"Yes, we can have another beer," she rolled her eyes and sighed. "Just one though," she added jokingly when Naomi got up to get them another bottle.

"Oh yeah, and what's out bedtime?" she scoffed.

"Half 10 and definitely no later than 11," Effy smiled sweetly at her. The scary part was Naomi wasn't entirely convinced she was joking.

The next morning arrived with bright rays of sunshine creeping through the gaps in the curtains; that was promising. Naomi was sitting up in bed watching the seconds tick by on her alarm clock waiting for it to go off; she switched it off before it even finished its first beep.

"I'm getting married today," she whispered excitedly into the empty room. A smile slowly crept across her face, stretching from ear to ear. Her feet had barely hit the floor when there was a knock on the door and Effy walked in without waiting for a response.

"Good morning Eff!" she smiled at the girl; she didn't think she would be able to stop smiling today.

"Mornin'!" she was surprised to see Naomi up and alert, she was honestly still a little bleary eyed herself and both Fitch twins had warned her that she might have to physically drag the blonde from her bed; she didn't tell Naomi that though. "Happy wedding day!"

"Thanks!" she replied excitedly, stretching the last of the sleepiness out of her muscles. "I'm going to shower."

"Alright, be quick about it though, we're due at the hairdressers at half 9!" she called after her.

"Emily!" Katie was standing outside the guest bedroom in her dressing gown. There was no reply from inside the room. "Emily!" she opened the door and found her twin still fast asleep with the alarm clock lying on the floor near the wall still beeping. "Emily!" she said sternly. The sleeping girl scrunched her face up in displeasure at the noise and rolled over.

"Oh for Christ's sake you're getting married today!" Katie huffed impatiently. These seemed to be the magic words as Emily's eyes immediately sprung open and she sat up a little in the bed.

"I'm getting married today!" she repeated.

"Not if you don't get your arse out of bed!" Katie pointed out, silently hoping Effy wasn't having this much trouble with Naomi. "Now come on, put your getting ready clothes on, Alex will be here in 20 minutes to do our hair!"

Emily got up out of the bed, stretched and changed into a baggy button down shirt to have her hair and make up done, all with a huge smile on her face that not even Katie's bossiness could wipe away. She swapped her pyjama shorts for tracksuit bottoms and headed down the hall to find Katie in the kitchen popping the cork on a bottle of champagne. There was a pile of toast on the table and a few boxes of cereal; this was quite possibly the first time in their lives that Katie had made her breakfast. She took a seat and spread some butter on a piece of toast as Katie poured orange juice into their champagne filled flutes.

"Buck's fizz is the only way to kick off your wedding day," she grinned, joining her sister at the table.

"Don't mind if I do," Emily giggled as they clinked their glasses together.

After breakfast a friend of Katie's, Alex, arrived to do their hair and a nice girl called Anna arrived to do make up. Emily found she was quite enjoying all the pampering; she could practically feel her body humming with excitement as Alex twisted her hair around the curling wand and she sipped her second glass of bubbly. The pampering also provided enough of a distraction to allow Katie to relax and enjoy the morning. The atmosphere in the apartment was one of relaxed excitement as Emily told her team of beautifiers the story of her Naomi to a chorus of coos and awes.

Katie's deep brown locks were curled then pulled back and loosely pinned into an elegant up do. Her make up was done exactly to her liking, a bit heavier than Emily's natural look, she liked to be glam; she was Katie fucking Fitch after all. For Emily's hair Alex had pulled the hair from the front of her head round and braided it loosely, leaving the rest of her hair softly curled and falling down her back. There were tiny white wild flowers woven into the plait secured with more pins than Emily could count. He was busy spraying what must have been more than half a bottle onto her red hair to keep it all in place when the doorbell rang.

"That'll be Sadie," Katie announced, checking the time and then moving to answer the door. Sadie entered the living room, dropped a bag of camera equipment on the floor and greeted the twins with hugs and kisses on the cheek.

"Well don't you two look gorgeous...from the neck up anyway," she laughed, they were both still in their getting ready clothes. "Not that I can say anything. Don't worry Katie I do plan on changing before the wedding!" she assured her, referring to the fact that while her hair and make up were done to perfection she was wearing jeans and a plain black vest top.

"I never doubted you for a second," Katie chuckled. "So I have Emily's dress hanging up in my room, I thought you might like to take a few shots of it before she puts it on."

"Katie, Katie, Katie, my love," Sadie drew and deep breath and shook her head. "We have an expression back in my home land that I believe is appropriate here 'Don't tell your granny how to suck eggs!'."

Emily let out a ark of laughter, that was quite a turn of phrase. Katie looked confused as to what granny's and eggs had to do with what was going on right now.

"It means don't tell someone how to do something they've been doing for years. You know I don't like to brag but I have actually won an award or two for photographing weddings," she smirked.

"I know, "I'm sorry," she admittedly, looking uncharacteristically abashed. "I've been told I have some issues letting go of control; I just want everything to be perfect."

"I know," Sadie smiled kindly. "And they will be; you have my word and my word is golden, better than that my word is platinum! Now why don't you go get into your pretty bridesmaid dress while I go take a few pictures of the dress and accessories and then we can get a few nice shots of you helping Emily get ready?"

"Sounds perfect," Katie nodded; she actually did have complete faith in the Irish girl, even if it didn't seem like it.

Naomi and Effy returned from the hairdresser's and they were only running 10 minutes behind schedule, which was pretty good by all accounts. Naomi had never been more relieved to get home. She didn't enjoy having her hair brushed and pulled by other people, although there was no denying the end result was worth it. Her shoulder length blonde hair fell around her face in soft waves, it looked effortless but polished just like she wanted and there was enough hairspray in it to guarantee that it would not move for the rest of the day. A delicate gold and pearl headband decorated her hairline then disappeared into her curls. Similarly Effy's long brown hair had also been curled and a dainty silver headband gracing her head. They now had just under an hour to eat and apply their make up before Sadie arrived to take a few pre-wedding photographs. Naomi stood in front of the open fridge considering what food she might manage to force down on top of the excited butterflies in her stomach. She was torn from her breakfast food deliberation by a loud pop behind her, turning on her heels she saw Effy holding a freshly uncorked bottle of champagne and grinning broadly.

"What do you say Naoms, champagne and cereal?"

Naomi chuckled softly and nodded; she couldn't think of a better way to kick start her wedding day.

They had hardly half their cereal eaten when Gina arrived, using her emergency key to let herself in, she blew into the kitchen in a whirlwind of excited chatter. She was already fully dressed and made up making Naomi wonder what time she had got up at to achieve all of this by 11. Her dress was ivory satin shift dress with a patterned sea-mist lace overlay with diamanté and pearl detailing, the outfit was completed with a matching sea-mist bolero and hat. She placed her hat delicately on the bench and spun around to give her daughter a big hug.

"Happy wedding day dear!" she gushed excitedly as she squeezed her tightly.

"Thanks Mum," Naomi's voice came out a bit choked.

"Your hair is lovely," she stated approvingly. "Did she complain much?" she directed the question to Effy.

"I'm not saying a word," she said but nodded. Gina rolled her eyes.

"You look lovely too Effy," she added with a bright smile for the girl.

"Thanks! You look very stylish yourself Gina," she grinned.

"Well I had to try to keep up with you fashionable young people didn't I?" she chuckled; she did feel rather nice all dressed up. "Aren't you two running a bit late?" she said looking at the clock under the cooker.

"Not at all," Naomi lied, finishing the last of her cereal quickly.

They finished their breakfast and glass of bubbly and ran up to the master bedroom to do their make up while Gina tidied the kitchen after them in her finery. Despite Katie's countless offers to send someone round to do their make up, Naomi and Effy had opted to apply their own. Naomi liked her make up done a certain way and she didn't want to take the chance that it not turn out the way she want it, not on her wedding day. They were only halfway ready when the doorbell rang.

"Hello Sadie," Gina greeted her niece with a smile and a hug. "How are you?"

"I'm great. How are you? You're looking absolutely beautiful today, our Kieran is a lucky man!"

Gina blushed and giggled like a school girl. "Oh shush, always charming aren't you Sadie? Come on they're upstairs getting ready."

Gina led the way to Naomi's room, which became a bit crowded with the four of them standing around.

"Hey cuz, how ya feeling?" she asked, enveloping the younger girl in her arms.

"I'm good," she smiled, "excited," she nodded, "nervous," she admitted.

"Well that's to be expected," Sadie chuckled, rubbing her step-cousin's arm reassuringly.

"How's Emily," she asked, biting her lip; she couldn't wait to see her again, to see her in her wedding dress in just a matter of hours.

"She's excited! She said she can't wait to marry you."

"So she's definitely showing up then?" Gina said teasingly, giving Sadie a look that told her Naomi had been ridiculous enough to voice such a concern.

"It looks that way, yeah," she laughed.

"So there's nothing to worry about," Effy concluded, fixing Naomi in a pointed stare.

"Well I don't know about that, by my watch you're running 15 minutes behind schedule so there's the very real possibility that Katie will kill you before you even get a chance to consummate your marriage," Sadie joked.

"Better get a move on then," Naomi said with mock fear.

"She's not that bad," Effy interjected on her girlfriend's behalf. "I'm sure she'd wait until after your honeymoon to kill you."

Sadie took pictures of Naomi's dress while the girls finished their make up. It was simple but stylish and tasteful, exactly what she had imagined. It was a white satin A-line dress with drop shoulder straps. There was a little bit of beaded detail on the straps and a small floral embellishment at the waist on the right hand side; it suited Naomi perfectly. She also took a few quick pictures of Effy's dress as well as the girl's shoes. The bridesmaids were wearing the same dress; duchess satin fabric in midnight blue, the dress was calf length with a scoop neck and a one inch satin sash in the same colour tied in a bow at the back of the dress. She got a few nice shots of Gina and Effy helping Naomi into her dress. Then, just for fun (and maybe to wind Katie up with later), she took a few selfies of the four of them.

"Right well, my work here is done," she announced, packing her stuff back into the camera bag and slinging it over her shoulder. "I better get home and change; have to make sure the flower girl gets to the church on time."

"Oh yes, the show can't start without her," Naomi laughed.

"I can't wait to see the little cherub in her dress!" Gina cooed. Naomi couldn't help but find it strange to be standing there having an ordinary conversation when she was wearing a wedding dress. Sadie gave her one last hug before she left.

"You look stunning! Emily is a lucky girl! I'll be seeing you all very soon!" she waved and headed off to the car.

"Our car should be here soon," Effy announced, slipping her phone back into her handbag.

"Oh it's all very exciting, isn't it?" Gina squealed.

"T-minus one hour until wedding time!" Effy laughed.

The morning of the wedding Cook was awakened by small shuffling footsteps and a sudden weight on his chest. He had spent the night at JJ's and it turned out that small children were a fantastic way to make sure you're up on time. Albert had came flying into the room and jumped up on top of the bed and his Uncle Cookie with his little sister Maisy toddling in behind him. JJ and Lara had been together for going on five years now making Albert 6 and two years ago they had given him a little sister, Maisy. JJ had fainted when Lara told him she was pregnant, then he woke up and fainted again when she reminded him. They lived comfortably in a posh estate in Bristol thanks to JJ's position at a top engineering firm and they were a very happy family. JJ himself came running into the room behind his children still wearing his pyjamas and muttering apologies. Cook stretched and groaned as he pushed himself up in the bed.

"No worries Jay," she shrugged, grabbing the still bouncing Albert and pinning him to the bed. "They're just excited to see their Uncle Cookie, aren't you?"

"Yes," Albie said through a fit of giggles.

"Lara's making breakfast," he informed his friend. He scooped his daughter up and settled her on his hip the resemblance between them even more striking due to their matching curly bed hair.

"Quality!" Cook grinned widely. He hopped out of bed and pulled on a t-shirt, threw Albert over his shoulder and ran off towards the kitchen leaving JJ and Maisy in their wake.

"Good morning!" Lara smiled at the sound of her son in fits of giggles because of Cook. Even though he wasn't biologically JJ's son, no one ever treated him any differently; Lara was very grateful for that.

"Mornin'" he gave her a happy nod.

"Did you sleep well?" she asked, setting a plate of food on the table as JJ popped Maisy into her booster seat.

"Like a baby," he replied, helping himself to a piece of toast.

"All set for today then boys?" she asked, joining them at the table and cutting up food on the children's plates.

"Yes, our suits are hanging up waiting for us," JJ said. "We have to be at the hotel by 12.15 in case any guests arrive really early. The wedding starts at 1 o'clock. Emily said the guy at the hotel will have the order of service booklets for us to give out."

"They got a nice day for it anyway," Lara remarked, looking out the window at the cloudless blue sky. This got JJ started on all sorts of weather statistics for Bristol and the chances of a day being sunny in August. Cook tuned a lot of it out but Lara at least feigned an interest, nodding and humming responses where appropriate. The rest of breakfast was filled with lots of chatter, about the wedding that day and Albert telling Cook all about his favourite TV characters and how he would be starting big school soon. When they realised how much time had passed they hurried off to get ready.

Cook stood in front of the long mirror in his room and smoothed down his suit jacket. The suit was a perfect fit; slate grey trousers with a crisp white shirt and lighter grey waistcoat under the suit jacket. JJ had bought him some shiny new black dress shoes for the occasion. The neckwear was a cravat in the same midnight blue silk that made the sashes on the girls bridesmaids dresses. Cook was incredibly grateful that it was a clip on because the knot looked proper fiddly and he seriously doubted that he would have been capable of tying it.

"Can I show you to your seat?" he said to the mirror in his most polite voice, holding an arm out to lead the way. He nodded approvingly; that was good. There was a small knock at the door and JJ came into the room carrying Cook's boutonnière; he was fully dressed with his own white flower already pinned to his lapel. He stood in front of his friend and began fixing the flower to his suit. Cook couldn't help but feel a swell of pride for his little buddy. He had come a long way from the awkward boy he used to be in college. Now he was a success in his career, he had a lovely home and a beautiful family; through it all though he never forgot his roots. He never forgot Cook, always keeping in touch and keeping him involved. Cook loved him for that. JJ was the type of friend he needed and he couldn't be happier that things had worked out so well for him; he deserved it.

"There you go," he smiled and rubbed the shoulders of Cook's suit jacket, straightening the slight crease he'd made.

"Thanks man," he threw his arm around the smaller man and looked at their reflection in the mirror. "We scrub up quite well don't we?"

"We do indeed," JJ nodded his agreement. "I didn't know you could look so respectable!" he joked.

"Oi! Watch it now, don't think I won't ruffle your hair like I did when we was at school," Cook laughed through the threat.

"Are you ready?" Lara's voice travelled up the stairs. "We need to leave soon or we'll be late."

They headed downstairs where Lara and the kids were waiting for them. Lara was wearing a beautifully flowing pale turquoise chiffon prom dress with a sweetheart neck and pleated detail on the bust. Little Albert was wearing a little grey suit of his own with a white shirt and a blue skinny tie; he had wanted to match his Dada J. Maisy was wearing her best party dress; a cream tea dress with lilac and pink flowers and butterflies printed on it. They posed in the hallway while Cook took a few family photos and JJ got a picture of Cook with a child on each bicep, the kids looked absolutely giddy. Then Lara sternly ushered them out to the car.

"Let's get this wedding started," Cook cried out excitedly.

Further AN: I would greatly appreciate a review to let me know if anyone is still reading and what you thought, there's one more chapter of this to come, hopefully in the next week or so! Also since I've decided it would be bad karma to leave my other WIPs unfinished I have decided to try to finish a few others, let me know in the reviews if there's any other stories you would like me to work on :) Emma
