Percy's POV

We arrived at Annabeth's apartment 10 minutes later. I had already texted my mom to let her know that I was going to study with Annabeth. We were walking up the stairs to her apartment and Annabeth was talking about some new monument she was planning to build and I was pretending to listen. I was thinking about all that had happened that day. It seemed like so long ago that Annabeth had revealed that she was going to Goode, even though it was only that morning. Then I remembered the Fall Formal. I never liked school dances and a formal sounded even worse. But I guessed that guys were kind of obligated to ask their girlfriends to school dances.

Annabeth unlocked her apartment door and opened it. We walked in and Annabeth announced she was going to go change. I had almost forgotten that she was still sopping wet from the pool. I could've probably fixed that easily, but I was enjoying seeing her pay for stealing my backpack.

"'Okay." I said. Annabeth walked of to her bedroom and closed the door. I surveyed everything to see if anything had changed. The tiny kitchen was on my left, in the front left corner of the apartment and the den in the back left corner. The kitchen and the den were "separated" by a door against the wall, which was the pantry. There were 2 doors along the back wall, to the right of the den. The first was Annabeth's office, the second was a bathroom. The wall on the right was lined with bookshelves. There was another door, which was the one that led to Annabeth's bedroom. The apartment was simple and clutter-free, and considering who lived in it, it made sense.

I was still surveying everything when Annabeth's door burst open and she came running out screaming.

"Annabeth!" I exclaimed as she zipped past me and ran into the kitchen. She was wearing a pair of knee length shorts and a gray spaghetti strap tank top. She had a red flannel shirt on with only one arm in one sleeve, like she had been in the middle of putting it on. It streamed behind her as she ran.

"KILL IT!" She screamed. She was standing on the kitchen counter now, pointing toward her bedroom.

I had already uncapped riptide, a reflex that kind of occurred whenever there was screaming and running. I kind of just stood there, not really knowing what was going on. I was waiting for a fury to pop out of Annabeth's bedroom. This wasn't Annabeth.

"KILL THE TARTARUS-WORTHY, EVIL THING ALREADY!" She yelled. Thats when I got it.

"Okay! Okay! I'll go kill the spider!" I threw my hands up in surrender and started walking toward her bedroom. I re-capped riptide and stepped inside her room. There was a little spider crawling across the wall. It was less than half an inch long, huge by Annabeth's standards. I looked around for something to kill it with. I grabbed a flipflop out of her closet and killed the "Tartarus-worthy, evil thing". I walked out of her room holding the flipflop with squished spider on it, trying as hard as I could not to laugh.

"Did you kill it?" Annabeth asked suspiciously.

"Yup." I showed her the flipflop, from a distance, of course.

Annabeth hopped down from the counter and nodded with approval. "Good. Now lets burn the flipflop." She said.

"...Or I could wash the spider guts off…." I said. My girlfriend was slightly on the crazy side, but I guess all geniuses are.

Annabeth backed away from me into the den so I could walk into the kitchen with the contaminated flipflop. She hadn't even bother to finish putting her flannel shirt on.

I turned the water on and washed the smushed spider off. I finally couldn't take it any longer and I busted out laughing.

"S-sorr-ry" I got out between laughs as Annabeth glared at me. She walked up behind me and hit the back of my head. "Rude." I scoffed indignantly, keeping the now clean flip flop under the water for precautionary measures.

"Thank you." Annabeth said as she snaked her arms around my stomach and hugged me.

"My pleasure, miss Chase." I said in a really horrible english accent. "I guess this would be a bad time to ask if you wanted to go to the Fall Formal?" I asked turning the water off.

Annabeth laughed. "Mr. Jackson, I would be honored." she said, her accent far better than mine. "But only if I can wear jeans." she said, only half teasing, her accent gone.

"Sure, why not." I laughed. I was actually kind of relieved. Formal is more of a suggestion than a rule.

"Good. You can pick me up at 7." She said. I raised my eyebrow at her for planning out a date I asked her to. She rolled her eyes.

"Sounds like a plan." I said smiling.

Annanbeth removed her arms from my waist and frowned at her one bare shoulder. She slipped her arm through her sleeve and buttoned up her shirt. She looked up at me. "So are we going to do homework or not?"

"Umm… Yes?" I answered, surprised that she was giving me a say in something, even if it was slightly sarcastic.

"Good. C'mon then." She turned around and went and got our bags. which where by the front door. I returned her flipflop to her closet and met her in the den. I flopped onto the couch next to her and unzipped my bag.

I set a few books on my lap and looked at them disdainfully. I really didn't feel like doing anything school related right now. "Oh no!" I said, purposely going limp and leaning against her. My head fell onto her leg. "My bones turned to water again." I said, looking up at her.

"Funny how this only happens when you have to do something." She rolled her eyes and tried to push me off of her. I purposely kept falling back towards her. "Gods, your heavy." She mumbled.

"I think it's fatal." I stated. "You're going to have to do my homework."

"Percy."

"I can feel myself slowly dissolving!"

"Percy."

"Gods, Annabeth! Just save me!"

"Percy!" She pushed me off the couch and onto the floor. I landed un-gracefully on my book bag.

"I think I broke my homework. Now I really can't do it." I remained on the floor.

Annabeth sighed and kicked me in the side. I got back on the couch.

"What do you want to start with?" I asked, giving into defeat.

"Math, then english."

"Here goes nothing then." I said sarcastically.

We spent the next 4 hours deciphering the moving words on our homework.
