Dear Mum,
I have never seen anything so beautiful! It's incomparable to anything that has ever existed in our world before! The Great Hall looks like it opens up to the heavens.
It's even better than I thought it would be!
I am sorted into Ravenclaw. I don't know what that means, but the Sorting hat (yes! A talking hat! On your head!) said something about cleverness and wit. I suppose that means I'm smart, just like you said.
A lot of the kids here have grown up with magic. They're talking about things I don't know about, but that's okay. As soon as school's in session - which is tomorrow - I'll catch up with them!
I have lots of friends to make, Mum. Give a big hug to the kittens for me!
