Kanae could hardly get her head around it as she watched the crew setting up swiftly. They only had the bridge for 4 hours and this shot had to be perfect and not only that, this shot would have to show the truth behind the story. Kanae looked across at Chiori who was standing watching Setsu and Cain interact as Setsu assisted Cain into his harness. Cain or should she say Ren... or maybe Kuon. Her mind was in turmoil.

It had been the night before. She and Chiori had stayed later with the Heel seniors as of late. They were good to talk to, kind and always welcomed both girls with open arms. Cain and Setsu always retired before the others with Setsu saying her Nii-san needed sleep for his work. But Julie and Kuu also knew Kyoko needed a break from the constant act that was her life now.

Lory had been with them that last night. The Heels had been at LME for a photo shoot for a magazine of some sort. It was basically something Lory had set up for them. Kanae and Chiori had just been about to retire for the night when the suite door had opened once more and Setsu entered.

"Setsu? Everything alright honey?" Sayuri had asked standing instantly as soon as she saw her daughter.

"It's fine, Mom. I just want to talk a little more about tomorrow," Setsu had answered as she approached the empty sofa that was left and dropped herself on to it.

"But what about Cain?" Calvin had asked as he watched his daughter loosen her knee high boots.

"He's sleeping," was her simple and evasive reply as both Sayuri and Calvin glanced at each other.

"You know Cain is a light sleeper, Setsu. What if he comes looking for you?" Sayuri had asked with a little trepidation in her tone. Cain was not to know what was coming. She didn't know whether Kuon could be trusted not to simply retaliate now rather than wait for evidence.

"He won't," Setsu replied firmly.

"You can't be sure sweetie." Calvin tried as he watched his daughter closely. Setsu was evasive with questions and answered as if uncaring, but the way her eyes looked in that moment Kuu suddenly realised it was all Kyoko. A Kyoko who looked guilty.

"I can be sure he won't," Setsu replied again as Sayuri went to speak again. Calvin placed a hand lovingly over his wife's.

"What have you done Setsu?" Calvin asked softly and yes! There it was, the slight blush that lit her cheeks. Kyoko was in control, not Setsu.

"Nii-san hasn't been sleeping. I know he is worried and I know being left in the dark is upsetting him. So I added a sleeping pill to his tea before bed." The room was silent for a moment before chuckling could be heard from Lory's direction.

"You drugged your brother!" Lory asked still laughing as Setsu pouted and nodded, crossing her arms across her chest as she tried to look annoyed at the man laughing at her.

"I don't see what's so funny! He needed sleep!" Setsu said scowling as Lory simply laughed harder as the others in the room watched.

"I'm sure you could have climbed into bed with him Setsu and he would have slept like a kitten." Lory only laughed harder as Setsu literally growled.

"Shut up old man."

Calvin's jaw dropped as Sayuri jumped in. "Setsu?!" she cried as Setsu simply turned away from Lory who continued to laugh uproariously.

"It's fine, Sayuri, it's fine." Lory couldn't help but be proud of Kyoko. She truly was one in a million.

"That wasn't very honest Setsu." Sayuri chided all the same.

Kanae and Chiori watched as Setsu went to answer her mother back. But before she could get a word in edgewise she continued.

"But I do understand why you did it. Your brother has always been one to push not only his body but his mental health to the limit."

Setsu shut her mouth and simply nodded. The room was silent for a while.

"So what do you wish to talk about Setsu?" Sayuri finally asked when everyone had been served their tea and were again seated comfortably.

Lory watched as Setsu took in a deep breath before he spoke. Calvin believed he already knew what was coming.

"The truth."

Sayuri visibly froze as Lory coughed into the teacup he had just been sipping from. "Setsu!" It was Lory's turn to admonish her now as Setsu simply continued to stare the man down.

"We can only guess what is going to happen tomorrow Boss and I for one would rather everyone be aware of everything rather than not understanding just how deep this really goes," her eyes were like steel. Her voice like a blade as everyone took in every word.

"If anything was to happen I would never forgive myself. I will not allow people to be put into any type of dangerous situation... I will not allow people I love to get hurt." There was no stutter, no burst of sudden cold energy.

If anything the feeling of Kyoko's most hated word slid over Lory like a blanket and he knew that Kyoko truly understood and truly accepted that word. He only wondered if she was ready to use it for other means. Yet the way her eyes seemed to bore into his very soul Lory could do nothing but sigh.

It was a sigh that spoke volumes: Happiness, sadness and simple understanding. This was something Kyoko had to do, something that had to be done. Whether it was now or five days from now Kyoko was not going to lie to her friends, not if there was even a single chance of them getting hurt.

"Ok Setsu, but you understand you will have to tell them everything? What makes you believe you have the right to tell part of the truth?"

Sayuri, Calvin and Setsu knew of what Lory was speaking. There was no doubt he was asking why she thought she had the right to disclose Ren and Kuon's secrets. The people who knew just how important this question was looked to the young woman seated before them. The young woman whose eyes shone with an unspeakable fire.

"Because Boss, I am his talisman. I am the one that has and will save him as many times as I am needed. I am the one who will bring an end to all of this."

Lory watched as Setsu and Kyoko turned to face the two other women seated on the sofa to her right hand side.

"And I would trust both of them not only with my own life, but that of the man I love." She had said it and no matter what now there was no going back on it.

In front of witnesses who were about to know just how truly meaningful those words were. Witnesses like Sayuri who had gasped and put her hand over her mouth while silent tears cascaded down her cheeks and Calvin's smile shone like the summer sun as he hugged his wife.

"Though I would prefer if he heard those words from myself before another." Kyoko watched as Sayuri, Calvin and Lory each nodded.

"Then I think you have the right... go ahead Setsu." Lory said nodding, he too had tears in his eyes as he watched Setsu compose herself once more. He had seen Kyoko flitting around the surface since entering the room, yet it seemed Setsu was so much part of Kyoko now that the young woman was slipping between the two like liquid between two beakers.

Kanae and Chiori watched Setsu. What was she about to tell them? Was she really in an incestuous

relationship with her brother? Was there something worse than what they had already told Japan? And the fact Kyoko said she trusted them with her life, but also Cain's! Had they really made that much of an impact on the young woman they had thought they could finally call friend? Had they really not that much confidence and honest belief? It was then Kyoko turned to them both and sighed.

"I'm sorry Kanae... Chiori, but the simple fact is I have been lying to you."

Kanae shook her head slowly as she looked back out on to the set. How was anyone supposed to react to words like those? She just remembered freezing up in fear, but also the feeling of Chiori doing the same beside her. What had come next had not been what they had expected.

"Lying to us? How so Setsu?" Kanae had asked trying to keep her voice composed as she watched Setsu sigh again.

"It was not intentional. It was all just part of the job you know?! All part of those silly jobs he gave us." Kanae stared at her. What silly jobs? Looking for the culprit? Them looking after the Heels? What?

"I screwed up though. Big time," Setsu said softly leaning forwards as she rested her elbows on her knees.

No one spoke though the senior Heels and Lory wanted to deny her words this was something Kyoko needed to do.

"You know, you two are too kind to me. You seem to think I'm something amazing when really I'm not. But when I hear you saying things like that, things that you would say to people you think are complete strangers I couldn't help but start to think that it's what you truly believed.

That you truly believed I was someone worth being friends with. Someone that was worth more than what other people may think of me."

Setsu's words were no long harsh as they had been with Lory. They were barely a whisper now, yet it carried enough power so everyone in that room could hear them. Kanae and Chiori watched as silent tears dropped between Setsu's open legs before striking the cream carpet without a single sound. It was almost heart wrenching to the two girls who as one kneeled and sat on either side of the stricken girl before they each placed an arm around her.

"Hey now what's this for?" Chiori asked as she stroked Setsu's back softly.

"Nothing you could say to us now will make us think any differently of you Setsu! Any praise we have given you has been honest! I would never give praise where praise is not due!" Kanae said in her strong I'm right voice which Kyoko knew so well.

She couldn't help but chuckle at. "I know, Moko-san. You also tell people what you truly think without care for how they will take it. You're strong, loyal and a wonderful actress that's so amazing at times you scare me."

Kanae hardly listened to half of Kyoko's words and neither did Chiori as the name Setsu had just used rang through both of their minds. Setsu chuckled once more as she slowly reached up and started pulling the long pins out of her hair which held her wig in place.

"See I think you're beginning to understand now." Kyoko whispered once more as both Kanae and Chiori moved back giving the small woman between them room to move.

"And I just want you to know how very, very sorry I am." As Kyoko pulled away Setsu's wig they gasped at the same moment.

Kanae looked across the set once more. She was supposed to be keeping her eye out for the target! Though she knew Sebastian was probably already tailing the guy, she was still supposed to be doing it.

"I can't believe how amazing she is." Chiori whispered as Kanae looked again towards the young woman next to her whom she also called a friend.

"How are either of us ever going to compare to her Kanae?" Chiori asked quietly.

Kanae simply failed to answer. She had no idea. She had no clue how she was ever going to match up to her best friend. It was probably the first thing she had thought last night.

"BAKA!" Kanae screamed as she jumped off the sofa and away from the woman she knew so little of yet knew so well. Chiori didn't move only sat there blinking as if someone had just done an astounding magic trick before her eyes and she was now trying to figure out if it was fake or an illusion.

"I'm sorry!" Kyoko cried once more as she stood up and reached for the girl that was her best friend.

"Please, Kanae. Let me explain." Kyoko pleaded and for once the entire room realised it. Kyoko was not prostrating herself. She may be begging Kanae to listen to her, but she had not dropped to the floor. She had not believed herself lower than them and was standing there as a young woman who was begging for a chance, yet also believing in herself.

Kanae half expected Kyoko to drop to the floor and beg her forgiveness as she had done so many times. So many stupid times! When Kanae had hated it, hated Kyoko for feeling so low of herself.

"Please, Moko-san," Kyoko begged once more as Kanae simply stepped backwards and dropped herself back onto the sofa she and Chiori had been seated on previously. She never spoke or moved as Kyoko slowly lowered herself back down beside Chiori, who was still staring at her wide-eyed. Kyoko turned to face the girl who had started off trying to hurt her and ended up being one of her best friends.

"I'm sorry Chiori," she said slowly as Chiori simply lifted her hand up and touched Kyoko's face gently. Kyoko removed the hairnet she wore under her wig and gently traced her face stopping beside her eyes.

"Coloured contacts," she said answering the unasked question as Chiori simply nodded and removed her hand.

"You should've seen what happened to the ones after the pepper spray attack," Kyoko said with a slight chuckle.

"It was you! It was you all the time?" Chiori asked as both Kanae's and Chiori's eyes were glued to Kyoko, who nodded slowly.

"Yes, Setsu Heel has always been me. There is no such people as Setsuka or Cain Heel." Kyoko looked across to the two people she had been calling Mom and Dad for all this time. Julie was still crying silently and Kuu nodded to his second son.

"There are no Heels at all. Well there might be somewhere I suppose. But there are none sitting in this room or sleeping in the apartment below. They are all just characters. Characters that were created for a single purpose," Setsu said as she looked between the two women she loved so dearly and wanted to just hold in her arms and hug them. But he knew it was not time for that.

"And what was that?" Kanae asked trying to make her voice sound cold. She had not been lying when she said she was missing Kyoko. She had not lied when she said she felt like she needed one of her best friend's hugs either and here she was now seated before her! The best friend who she had needed so badly had been there all along! The best friend who she had been imitating and allowing to slowly work her way into her own actions and words was here before her and had been since the beginning.

"To protect a very special man," Kyoko had replied.

Kanae could hardly believe how long they had talked for after that. All of the secrets and the lies that had been told to not only her and Chiori but to the entirety of Japan. No not just Japan! The entire world! At first she was furious. Furious that Kyoko had been lying to her and had been hiding everything from her! How dare she! How dare they all! Lory had said she was helping out family! And when she had mentioned it, the man she now knew to be Hizuri Kuu for goodness sakes had the audacity to laugh and agree! Saying Kyoko was his second son so yes she was helping out family!

Kanae tried to control her roiling emotions. How the hell had she not seen it? How the hell had she not recognised her best friend? She sighed again. Well it was simple really Kyoko simply was that amazing and she knew it. Had told her even.

"I'm not sure I could ever match up to her," Kanae said softly as Chiori for the first time turned and looked towards Kanae.

"But if there is anything that she has taught me it's never to stop trying," Kanae added and Chiori who tilted her head in thought nodded.

"Yeah I suppose that's something that she does to everyone. She has that effect on you which makes you strive to be better. To work harder and aim higher. You never know we may have a chance if Kuon gets her pregnant."

Kanae could hardly believe the last few words out of Chiori's mouth as she stared at the younger woman.

"Chiori!" Kanae almost stammered shocked at the younger woman's words who simply chuckled evilly.

"I wanna be there when she tells him," Chiori said turning her devilish grin towards Kanae and for the first time since the reveal the night before Kanae laughed and nodded.

"You know what? So do I," she said as she smiled slightly before turning back to the set.

She had told them everything. She had told them all of his secrets all of the truth and now she stood here wondering if she would ever have her best friend's back again. Kyoko turned to the sound of Kanae's laugh. She had asked if Kanae forgave her for the deception, explaining she had no choice but to continue as she had been told by Lory and he had refused for her to tell them both. Lory had also confirmed this. But even after everything, Kanae had simply said she was going to bed and needed time to think about everything and so she and Chiori had wished them all goodnight and left.

Julie had comforted her after they went, letting her cry on her shoulder as she let out her heart in those tears. She loved both of them so much it hurt, but she knew now she loved the man downstairs more. She loved Kuon with every ounce of her being and when all this was done and over with she was going to tell him.

Even if he rejected her Kyoko knew now it was worth the risk and she even had a vain hope that Kuon felt the same way. It was the way he told her she was beautiful, the way only she could get through to him in those moments when he went simply catatonic. The way he enjoyed holding her as they fell asleep together and even the way he smiled at her.

It may be wishful thinking, but that softness in his eyes as she looked at him even now as she turned back from viewing and laughing Kanae was something she could no longer ignore.

"You ready, Nii-san?" Setsu purred as she gently ran her fingers lightly down Cain's chest. She enjoyed the shiver it caused and the burning look that entered Cain's eyes and even inside Kyoko shivered herself. Yes she had hope.

"Course, Setsu.," Cain replied as he adjusted the harness slightly. They both listened quietly as the director approached.

"Now you know what's going to be happening in this scene?" Konoe asked as Setsu glanced across to Murasame who was being helped into one of the 5 stunt cars they had for this shot. The car hood was covered with a light crash mat that Cain would be expected to hit looking as if the car had struck him fully. As the car slowed Cain was supposed to slip back off the car and lie on the second mat as if finally still. Cain nodded as the crew and techs checked every single wire and item attached to Cain. They did not want a repeat of Chiori and the camera truck again.

The director waited until they were fully happy with every piece of the equipment. He was also happy with the fact they were double and triple checking that Cain would be safe. He doubted Lory would ever forgive him if either of his two favourite thespians got injured once more. He looked at Setsu through the corner of his eye as he watched her watching Murasame going through his own instructions with the stunt co-ordinator.

"He is a professional, Setsu. He will not harm Cain intentionally," Konoe said gently as Setsu's eyes jumped from the scene to his own.

"He would not live long if he did so," Setsu replied simply as she now knowing the equipment was safe. Walked off of the direct set and simply hopped over the safety guard rails made of sandbags which had been set up in case of any accidents. The crew really weren't taking any chances.

The first action was called for the dry run. The entire crew held their breath as Murasame sped towards Cain who in the correct moment took the hit from the car appearing to hit it with force when really Cain took the fall correctly and rolled off when the car came to a halt.

"OK THAT LOOKED GREAT! WE WILL HAVE THE RUNNING CAMERAS AND FLY BY CAMERAS. ARE WE ALL SET?" Director Konoe called through the megaphone as OK signals came back from the crew. Konoe nodded and motioning to the awaiting recorder. He hoped the next shot was going to go smoothly.

"ACTION!" the call came as not one but two cars sped off from their starting points. The crew that were near the spare stunt cars cried out in alarm as the car sped off through one of the reel tables. Konoe didn't know where to look as Murasame approached Cain at full stunt speed, yet the second unneeded car approached the set at top speed.

"NO!" Sayuri cried out as she watched the second car not aiming for her son as expected but for her daughter! Calvin was already running but there was no way he would ever be able to get anywhere near Kyoko with the speed the car was travelling.

She said they would attack Kuon this time! She said that he would go for Kuon to prove his point as attacking Setsu had not worked!

"SETSU!" Calvin cried out as Setsu simply looked towards the speeding car.

It was too close to do anything. As multiple voices screamed out in fear, anger and complete despair when Setsu hit the front of the car at full speed.

"SETSU!" Cain cried out as he rolled off his own collision and was instantly ripping the harness off himself. His heart was racing as he watched the small body fly off the wind shield and fly through the air twisting as it went before connecting solidly with the pavement.

"SETSU!" Cain screamed again finally clear of all the wires as everyone was running towards not only the car but the woman who had just been struck.
