Giselle's POV

I didn't feel right that whole day. What does that even mean? Trust what you saw. Large wolves? Non-human people? Being delusional is a side effect to my medicine. Am I truly going crazy?

"Hey, Antelope?" Porter's words caught me off guard.

"Y-yes?" I stuttered, turning my attention towards him.

We rescheduled our family event for today, Sunday, so I'm currently sitting in the basement of Sam and Emily's, with my cousins and a few of their girlfriends. The loud buzz of people overwhelmed me, but I kept my vision straight and clear.

"You seem out of it, are you feeling alright?"

"Yes, perfect actually. Just my medicine makes me a little loopy sometimes." I tried to laugh it off but he didn't seem fooled.

"If you need me, come get me. Your brother has everyone under strict orders to keep an eye on you." Porter warned.

"Okay, okay," I waved him off, "You worry too much. You want one of my anti-anxiety pills?" I joked.

He just laughed and walked away. I pulled out my phone and replied to Colter's text.

"What's up, buttercup?" Preston asked, taking a seat next to me.

"Just texting Col-Cedar." I corrected myself before it was too late.

I literally just had a mini-heart attack, my heart beating faster than usual.

"You're pretty close to him, aren't you?" Preston asked.

"Yes, is there a problem with that?" I asked defensively.

"No! Jeez, Porter was right. You're acting strange tonight. What's going on?"

Irritated, I got up and walked away. As I walked through people, I bumped into Kalia and I flinched. Staring at her, she just smiled and kept walking. Kalia! Do you not realize you just made my life more confusing than it already was?

I kept squeezing past people, getting a hello from a few of my cousins. I noticed an open door with random boxes. I checked to make sure no one was looking and entered the room.

The room didn't have much to it, just bins with photos and documents. I picked up a photo of a wolf, like the wolves I saw last night. Curious, I flipped it over and 'Sam' was written across the back.

Sam? As in my Uncle Sam? Is he stalking these wolves too? I came across another photo, this time of multiple wolves. On the back of that photo, it said 'Jake, Sam, Jared, Paul, Quil, Embry, and Collin'.

This is no longer a coincidence. What the hell is going on? I found many photos of just wolves with my uncles and dad's name on it.

I didn't dare go out there and ask anyone. Maybe I'll ask Kalia. Obviously she knows something I don't. They probably all know something I don't.

A voice yelled down the stairs. "Kids! Come get food!"

I waited until I heard large footsteps pound up the stairs before I left the room. Benji, Clayton, Kaleb, and Abby, Clayton's girlfriend, were still lounging around but didn't seem to notice me come out of the room.

"Giselle?"

"Yeah?" I answered, turning around before I stepped on the first step.

"I didn't see you down here, where were you?" Kaleb asked, all eyes on me.

I could feel panic rising in me. Why am I so panicky now? "Uhh, uh just over in the corner."

"In the corner?" Benji questioned, confused.

"Yeah, surprise here I am!" I laughed quickly and made my way up the stairs.

I'm pretty sure I'm loosing my marbles. Keep focus, Giselle! Don't have a panic attack right now! At least go home and do it! Oh my, stop having mental conversations with yourself. This is definitely a new low for you. Am I seriously arguing with myself?

"Giselle! Come get some food!" Emily yelled over the loud chatter and I just smiled and made my way over to the table. The problem was, I wasn't hungry at all but I didn't want to be rude so I grabbed a little bowl and put three scoops of Jell-O in it.

I saw people outside so I went out the back door. People were scattered everywhere, not noticing me so I just sat really close to the shore. The water could almost reach my toes. The breeze was strong but pleasant, calming me down.

I nibbled at my Jell-O, cringing at the way it felt on my tongue. I forcefully swallowed, almost gagging. It tasted good, but I wasn't going to make myself eat if I wasn't hungry. I yawned and laid back on the sand. It reminded me of somewhere, but I couldn't pinpoint it. Somewhere tropical...like Jamaica! Wait, Jamaica? I've never been there.

That's when I noticed something off in the distance of the sea. It looked like the head of a person. I stood up, walking into the water to get a closer look. I squinted, and made it out to be someones face.

"Giselle, what are you doing?" Dallas asked from behind me. I turned around, my face blank. I turned back towards the sea and there was no longer a person off in the distance. I turned back towards Dallas.

"Nothing! Thought I saw someone." I said with a laugh. Him and Danny just gave me a funny look. I walked back to my previous spot and sat back down. I pulled my knees to my chest and wrapped my arms around them.

I could feel the water go up to my toes and to say it was freezing is an understatement. After a few minutes, I couldn't even feel my toes anymore so I inched back and bit and buried my toes in the sand.

"Hey, Antelope. What's going on with you?" Theo said, approaching me.

"Nothing." I mumbled into my legs.

"Yes, obviously something is. Everyone has been asking your parents if you had a panic attack today." Theo confessed.

"None of you have seen me after a panic attack. I'm perfectly fine after them. I'm just paranoid today." I replied, raising my head from my lap.

"Tell me what's going on inside your head. I'm here to listen." Theo said and put an arm around me.

"Okay, I found these photos in the basement of wolves with my dad, your dad, and our uncles name's on it. What does that mean?"

Theo looked pale even for his natural tan skin. "Uhh, um, I don't know. That is quite peculiar..."

"Yeah and with the wolves yesterday, wh-" Theo cut me off.

"There were no wolves."

"No! I know what I saw! I'm not crazy! If I'm crazy then put me in an insane asylum!" I yelled at him.

"Giselle, calm down. Do you want your parents to come out here?" Theo hissed through his teeth.

"I'm so sick of being told what I saw wasn't real! There were wolves larger than humans! Do I look crazy?" I didn't realize I had stood up.

"Giselle, you need to calm down." Theo said calmly, putting his hands out cautiously in front of him.

Realizing everyone outside was watching, I took a deep breath and bit my tongue. I couldn't freak out right now. Now definitely was not the place and there was no sense in getting worked up over something no one will believe me about.

"I trust what I saw. I don't need anyone to believe me. I will find out why everyone is so secretive around here." I spat through my teeth and turned on my heels.

I stormed off down the beach, anger radiating off of me. I walked out to the end of the dock and sat down, my legs dangling over the end. I looked back towards the beach, and a few of my cousins were still lounging around, two of them staring at me. I stared down at my lap, feeling hopeless.

Someone here has to believe me besides Kalia.

Knowing my mother would have the FBI looking for me in a few minutes when she doesn't realize where I am, I headed up the beach. I saw Cedar's car drive by and he noticed me too. He stopped in the middle of the road and I jogged up to his window. He rolled it down with a seductive smile and I just rolled my eyes.

"What's up?" He asked.

"Umm, absolutely nothi-" Next thing I know I was pulled into his car through the window. My legs still dangling out the window he started to drive away.

"Are you crazy?!" I screamed as I crawled towards the passenger seat, my legs still dangling out the window.

"Get your legs in the car before the cops pull us over!" He yelled at me.

"YOU DID THIS!" I yelled at him. He just smirked in response.

I quickly texted my mother saying that I was with Cedar.

"My mother's family is coming in a week." I said with a heavy sigh.

"Do you like them?"

"Of course, I lived with them my whole childhood. My family and I have had a couple blow outs since we got here so I have a feeling they'll just be keeping an eye on me." I explained.

"My dad left when I was four." Cedar admitted.

I turned quickly to stare at him.

He glanced back at me. "Yeah. He left my mom to raise me and my two sisters, Celina and Hailie. She worked a lot. Three jobs to be exact. I raised Hailie practically since she's two years younger than me. Celina did a lot of looking out for us. Once Celina moved out and I got a job, my mom cut back to working to two jobs. My dad took us out to lunch two years ago. He has a new family that he 'can't leave' Like what the fuck? You leave us because you 'can't handle a family' but you start a new one? Plus, he got mad because I was gay."

"It was funny because he said he didn't raise me that way and I remembering yelling back that he didn't raise me at all. He got so mad when I said that but like seriously? Who do you think you are?" He expressed.

I had a feeling I was the first he ever told because he sort of just let go in that moment.

"Cedar, that sounds truly awful...it's funny how people can treat their children so poorly."

"Do you know anything about your birth family?" Cedar asked.

"No. I mean, I respect them because they gave me up because they probably realized they couldn't give me the life that someone else could give me. I just hope to meet them someday." I confessed.

It's weird because whenever I try to think of my past, it's almost like there is a void in my head not letting me. Sure I was very little at the time but shouldn't I be able to remember some things?

"He tried to get Hailie to move in with him since she was still in middle school but she said no. He started to scream at her and Celina exploded at him. Honestly, I've never seen my oldest sister mad. She's the most gentle person you'll ever meet. But after practically being our second parent, she's just very protective."

"Some people don't deserve to be parents." I commented. "Where does you dad live?"

"Uhh, like twenty minutes from Forks."

I smirked at him.

Standing across the street from a beautiful house in a suburban area, Cedar and I looked at each other. Each of us has a car-paint marker in our hands, ready to make things messy.

We crossed the street and to our convenience, his dad's car was parked out in their driveway. We quickly got to work. Cedar wrote all over the car and I painted flowers wherever I could fit them.

Cedar wrote things like, 'Bad father' 'Asshole' 'You're not my father anymore' 'Thanks for not being there' 'I'm gay', etc. He wrote 'I'm gay' across the back windshield so that is definitely the most noticeable note on the car.

"How permeant is this?" I asked out loud as I read the label on the paint.

"It's not permeant but trust me it's going to at least six car washes before this comes off. It comes off with time so no matter how hard he scrubs it, this paint won't be coming off for a while." Cedar laughed as he walked back towards me.

He hugged me and spun us in a circle. "Thanks for doing this with me. I feel like I can finally be truly happy now." He admitted.

"Yeah, your dad deserves it. Do you like your step-mom?"

"Hell no! She's crazier than a bowl of Froot Loops!" He exclaimed.

"CEDAR!" A voice bellowed from across the street.

We both turned towards the front door of Cedar's dad's house and his step-mom and dad were staring at us.

"Get in the car!" He yelled at me and since I was closer to the driver seat, I just decided to be the driver. Once Cedar was in the car, I sped off fast. I reached a top speed of 97 mph when we got onto the interstate. I slowed down to the speed limit and Cedar and I began to laugh.

"Oh my God, of course we got caught!" Cedar clapped.

"I don't even care!" I admitted with a laugh.

"Don't mention anything to anyone!" He made me promise.

"Cross my heart and hope to spy!"

"It's 'hope to die'." Cedar snorted.

"Well, close enough!"

The rest of the ride home consisted of us singing loudly to music and me missing our exit. Finally I got off at the right exit and we arrived in Forks soon after. I pulled into one of the parking stalls at the beach and got out.

"Text me later." I said as I got out of the car and he switched seats. I casually walked into Sam and Emily's and noticed everyone in the living room. I stayed in the kitchen and ate a bowl of fruit.

The excitement of Cedar and I's little adventure still pulsed through my veins. I laughed out loud and Theo walked in.

"Where have you been for the last two hours?" He asked.

"Cedar and I went to look at swim suits." I lied. Okay, can that lie be anymore fake?

"Uhh, okay?" Theo seemed unconvinced.

I felt my phone ping as I took a sip. A smile crept on my face as I saw it was from Cedar.

'My dad called the cops on us LOL'

I spit my lemonade out and Theo looked at me in shock. "What?"

Ignoring my cousin, I ran outside to call Cedar. He answered on the third ring.

"CEDAR, WHAT THE FUCK?" I screeched into my phone.

He just laughed. "He doesn't know who you are so don't even worry about it. Also, he has no evidence!"

"Ummmm, you wrote that he was an awful dad. That narrows it down to three people."

"Okay, that's also very true. I don't care, my dad's an asshole." Cedar scoffed.

"Cedar, if I get into trouble, my parents will literally kill me. It'd be worth it though." I laughed.

"That's the spirit!" He cheered.

I heard a car slowing down and parking in stall along the beach. I turned to see a cop car. My eyes felt like the were about to fall out of their sockets.

"Cedar!" I hissed. "The cops are fucking here!"

"Act innocent!" He said before I hung up on him.

Mustering a smile up on my face, I approached the cop car.

"Are you Miss. Giselle Black?" The officer called from his open door. He was in full uniform, his gray eyes zeroing in on mine.

He hoisted his pants up to seem tough. I kept my face blank. Never show weakness in a situation like this. I wasn't going to get in trouble. I wasn't going to get in trouble.

I jogged up to him. "Yes, I am."

"I just wanted to say that I'm giving you a warning for vandalism today. I know the paint was washable and you didn't write anything, but you still were there and aware of the situation going on." He leaned in closer to me. I stood my ground, eyes staring into his to show I wasn't scared.

"Yes, of course, Officer." I nodded.

"I know your family, you're all good people. I don't want any more problems from any of you, okay? Daddy can't bail you out." The officer gave me a look.

What a jerk. "Of course, Officer. I wouldn't want my parents to have to bail me out of jail."

"A perfect family like yours can't have any troublesome kids in it so I'd check myself into reality a couple times a week if I were you." He smirked at me.

"What is that suppose to mean?" I scoffed involuntarily.

"I heard about your little outbreak about 'werewolves'? You don't seriously think they're real, right?" He laughed at me.

"If you're suggesting that I'm crazy, then lock me in an insane asylum." I challenged.

He leaned in until he we were face to face. "Watch it, girl. I have eyes all over this town and I'm not afraid to take care of a pesky little girl like you if I have too."

"I'm Giselle. I'm not some pesky girl and don't you dare threaten me. You may have other people around here afraid of you but I'm not." I shot back.

"Giselle? Why are you talking to him?" Preston asked from the backdoor.

I turned back to the officer and he turned to stare back at me.

"Just talking to Miss. Black over here. Nothing too concerning." The officer said while staring at me.

I quickly walked away with a blank face. Did I just get threatened by a cop? Maybe I am turning into a bad kid. Preston put a hand on my back while watching the cop as I walked through the door.

"What was that about?" Preston snapped at me. I rolled my eyes dramatically.

"Seriously, Preston. It was just a misunderstanding. Don't get your panties in a twist." I mumbled.

He gave me a dark look for that. "I'll tell Mom and Dad you were talking to a cop." He threatened.

I rolled my eyes as I plucked a grape off a vine that was sitting in a bowl.

"Oh, Zoë, Jared and Kim's foster daughter will be here any minute. She's visiting from South Carolina." Preston informed me.

I joined everyone in the living room, many people not even noticing me as I slipped into the back. Everyone was talking amongst themselves when Porter took a seat next to me. He planted a kiss on my head before he sat down.

"How old is she?" I asked him, picking at my chipped nail polish.

"She's 17. Super sweet girl and her she'll have you laughing before she can even take her shoes off." Kaleb said, joining in our conversations from the couch besides us.

"Why doesn't she live with Jared and Kim anymore?" I whispered, leaning across Porter to asked Kaleb.

He leaned in to answer. "Her grandma gained custody of her, but Zoë visits twice a year."

As if she knew we were talking about her, tires squealed to a halt in the driveway.

"She's always been a terrible driver." Kim joked and that got us all to laugh.

After a couple seconds, the door bursted open and in came in a girl with two hugh suitcases. Her maroon hair was loosely curled and hung to her mid-back. Her bright hazel eyes were looking at all the faces in the room and she smiled.

"G'day mates! I chucked a sickie to get here a couple days earlier!" Zoë laughed, her heavy Australian accent present.

"How is South Carolina weather comparing to here in La Push right now?" Embry asked with a smirk.

"Lets just leave it at thank God I didn't bring a lot of thongs." Zoë said with a laugh and everybody went silent.

"Why are you all looking so stuffed? Oh, my bad. FLIP FLOPS." She added, laughing hysterically and everyone joined in.

"No one understands her half the time." Porter mumbled under his breath.

Kim and Jared were the first to greet her, pulling her into a tight hug. Everyone took their turns greeting here before we all settled back into our individual conversation.

"Zoë! Come here!" Kaleb called Zoë over from her place by Rylan and Malik.

The girl was beyond gorgeous, her eyes big and cheek bones high. Her lips were the perfect shade of pink and were full, her nose looked like it had plastic surgery done too it because it was almost too perfect.

"This is Giselle, Jake and Nessie's daughter!" Kaleb introduced Zoë to me.

"Pleasure to met ya, Gia! I'm Zoë Wilkinson, from the land of the Aussies! I'm known as a Crow Eater, also." She shook my hand enthusiastically.

I imagined I wasn't the only one staring at her with a confused expression on my face.

"Why do all Americans look at me as if I got kangaroos in my top paddock?" Zoë mumbled to herself while pondering about something.

"Because none of us know what you're talking about half the time." Simon joked all the way across the room and everyone stopped to stare at us.

"A Crow Eater is someone who is from South Australia." She informed us with a laugh.

"How long are you staying?" Kim asked from her spot next to Jared.

"Well, my grandma is sick. Poor shelia, she can't even get out of bed anymore so the doctor thinks she's going to croak any day now. She's such an ocker though, saying whatever came to her mind first. I'm sad to see her go but kind of relieved. Living with her was almost the equivalent of living in Hell. So whenever you guys kick me out, really." Zoë confessed.

Kim immediately became overjoyed and got up to hug her only daughter. "Honey, you know you're welcome to live with us. We still have your room set up."

"From when I was 12?" Zoë gave Kim a questioning/sarcastic look.

"No, no...of course not." Kim lied and everyone knew. We all laughed at how bad her lie was.

"Glad to have you back." Jared said and gave Zoë a kiss on her temple and walked into the kitchen.

Everyone turned to see my brothers walk in. Zoë turned to look at my brothers and her and Olli locked eyes. Olli's jaw went slack, and he just stared at her.

That's when all hell broke loose. Everyone started moving just then, people pulling Zoë into the kitchen as she struggled to keep staring at my brother. People were pushing a furious Isaiah, Nathan, Simon, and Benji out the door and trying to keep them from killing from brother.

"Let me see her! I need her." He argued as my father and Preston were pulling him by the arms to the back door.

My mother hurried me into the kitchen and I tried to resist being pulled, trying to follow my brother. My Uncle Embry grabbed me with one arm and carried me into the kitchen and sat me down next to Zoë on the floor.

"Giselle, stay here. I swear to God, do not move." Uncle Embry said sternly, looking me in the eyes. I nodded numbly.

"What the hell just happened?" Zoë asked, looking at me. I shrugged in response.

Everyone in the kitchen seemed to moving around quickly, whispering harshly to one another.

"I need a plonk." Zoë said, obviously exasperated.

"What's that?" I asked, confused. Her Australian slang words were so strange!

"Cheap wine." She admitted.

"You drink?" I whispered, shocked.

"Always rage on." She said with a smirk. Zoë got up and headed for the back door when my mom and Aunt Rebecca stopped her.

"Dear, you can't go outside." Aunt Rachel said, stepping in.

"Why not? Is that one boy who was spewin' fire okay?" Zoë asked, trying to push past her barricade.

"Everything will be explained later, just for now roll with the punches." Kim said, putting a hand on Zoë's shoulder.

Zoë gave in, walking back over to me. "I love all you guys. I consider you all my family and I'd do anything for any of you. But these secrets are driving me bonkers!" She said, clearly frustrated.

"You have no idea." I mumbled.

Surprise! I'm back haha. Sorry for the delay, this summer has kept me on my toes and away from the computer. Hope you enjoyed meeting Zoë :)
