I need another story
Something to get off my chest
My life gets kinda boring
Need something that I can confess
'Til all my sleeves are stained red
From all the truth that I've said
Come by it honestly I swear
Thought you saw me wink, no
I've been on the brink, so
Tell me what you want to hear
Something that will light those ears
Sick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away
This time don't need another perfect line
Don't care if critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away
My God, amazing how we got this far
It's like we're chasing all those stars
Who's driving shiny big black cars
And everyday I see the news
All the problems that we could solve
And when a situation rises
Just write it into an album
Send it straight to gold
But I don't really like my flow, no, so
Tell me what you want to hear
Something that will light those ears
Sick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away
This time, don't need another perfect line
Don't care if critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away
Oh, got no reason, got no shame
Got no family I can blame
Just don't let me disappear
I'ma tell you everything
So tell me what you want to hear
Something that will light those ears
Sick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away
This time, don't need another perfect line
Don't care if critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away
So tell me what you want to hear
Something that will light those ears
Sick of all the insincere
So I'm gonna give all my secrets away
This time, don't need another perfect line
Don't care if critics ever jump in line
I'm gonna give all my secrets away
All my secrets away, all my secrets away

Jake stands behind me as we watch mom and dad drive off. They soon put Beatrice in the back seat and speed off down the road. When I say they sped down the road, I mean it. Dad hates driving slow, it gets on his nerves. His minimum speed is like ninety miles per hour. Somehow, he doesn't get caught or crash.
I look to Jakob and he nods to me. We race up the stairs to mom and dads room. Their room is on the third floor, so were basically pouring with sweat when we get there. I push a hand to my lips and he nods to me. I grab the door handle and swing it open fast. Mom and dads room looked as it had always been. We weren't allowed in here much, especially without them. Mom had a fit if we even went near the closet.
"What do you think were looking for?" I ask Jake.
He looks to me and closes his eyes and sticks his index finger to his head. he stays like that for a while. i tap my foot impatiently and he grins while his eyes are still closed. He finally opens his eyes.
"I have absolutely no idea whatsoever," he says, looking me strait in the eye.
I want to strangle him. We don't have much time before our parents come back. Instead, I just role my eyes and walk into the room.
"Don't move or touch anything," I warn him. He just nods and goes to a different direction.
I start under their bed first. The bed was blue and purple; mom and dad's favorite colors. Another reason I know dad loves mom, what kind of man would let their wife put purple in the bedroom they shared if they didn't love them to death?
I crawl onto my knees. My hair falls into my eyes and I blow it away to no avail. Using one of my hands, I scoop it out of my face and get dust in my eyes. Then i sneeze. Eww. Under their bed was creepy and dark. But, to my disappointment, there was nothing there. I groan in frustration and get up only to bump my head. Plus, just like the wonderful brother he is, Jake just laughs at me from the other side of the room.
"Have you found anything?" he asks while going through the doors.
"Yup! Some dust, dust. Oh, guess what else? More Dust!" i retort sarcastically. "What about you?" I ask.
"Trust me, be glad you got the bed while I got the tables. Unless you want to find out what mom and dad do in their spare time, don't ask." he tells me disgusted.
"Gross, how many are gone?" I ask, laughing at his embarrassed tone.
I hear something being shaken and rustling.
"Twenty-six, and it's a forty pack box." he says and I hear the door close with a big bang.
I sigh and walk over to the closet. To tell the truth, I have never seen the inside of their closet. That seems really stupid. I hear footsteps and Jake comes beside me as we both look.
"I've always imagined the boogeyman living in there." Jake says. (Couldn't resist!)
" I always thought mom kept dad's 'lady friends' in there." I respond. We both laugh. Even though dad would NEVER cheat on mom, that didn't stop other women eye raping him sometimes.
"Me to, except that she kept them in a cage and tortured them by making them watch Justin Bieber in a fiery pit." he added. I smile, I love that he was being nice to me once again, but I didn't say anything in fear of it being jinxed.
I look to him and he looks to me. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Finally, we pull the doors open. I open my eyes to feel really depressed inside. All my life, I thought that mom or dad kept something in here that was magnificent enough to hide from us. But there wasn't. Instead, it was like anyone in the world's closet. It had mom's close on the right and dad's stuff on the left.
I go to mom's side while Jake goes to dad's. I riffle through her clothes hoping there was something, anything. All there was was her business suits and dentist clothes and pictures of clean teeth. I turn and look to Jake to see he found nothing also.
I walk over to the door and we sit down with our backs against each others. He sighs with me and I lay down on the carpet. Maybe there wasn't anything strange about our family, maybe we were making it up. Well, i thought that until I saw a crack in the wall. I tap Jake's shoulder and he looks to me annoyed. Then I point over to the cracked wall. He nods and walks over ot it with me.
"On three," he says when we curl our fingers around it.
"One..." we say. I grip it hard until my knuckles are white.
"Two..."
"Three!" we shout.
I pull with all my might to pry it open. Jake grunts beside me as we try in vain to open it. I let go and get back. Jakob lays on the floor.
"Well, what now? I mean it is obviously too open that no one has bothered it." he says while panting.
I crawl over to it on my knees to survey it. My finger brushes the outside of the rectangle shape in the wall. A shiver goes down my back. I pull my finger back to examine what it was to see a blueish cold film over my finger. A familiar memory washes over me and I realize that I have seen this before. Jake slides on over to me to see what I'm looking at. That's when I get what it was.
"It's frost!" I exclaim. He looks to me and nods.
"It looks like the frost on my window. Maybe that's why we can't open it up." he suggests.
"Maybe so, but what I am wondering is where dad and mom get all this snow in the middle of spring instead of using crazy glue." I say. He nods then shrugs.
"Maybe we can melt it," he suggest. I smile.
"Finally, someone is pitching good ideas besides me!" i tease him. He frowns.
"Hurtful." he states. I laugh.
I gut up and run to the master bathroom. Going to mom's side of the bathroom, I start going through her doors. Hair curlers, brush, hairspray, bingo! Her Hair dryer! I run back to the closet and hop beside Jake. he plugs it in and I turn it on high and fan it over the area. It starts to melt onto the carpet.
"Hurry and get a towel!" I command.
He mocks me before going to the bathroom to grab a towel. Using the towel, he starts drying off the wall and floor. The wall opens to reveal a small door, too small for anyone to crawl through. I pry it open and sit back. THE inside was a smaller closet that was about four-by-four. Inside was only a few things. I box is the first thing I see. I gingerly pick it up and hold it out for Jake to see. He opens the lid.
Inside was a few papers in a language I couldn't understand. WE toss it to the side. The only other thing in there was a photo and an article. THe photo was black and white. The edges were torn. In the photo was a family. i couldn't recognize it though. All there was was a family consisting of four people, all of brown hair. I shake my head and put it back. The article was familiar though.
Lake Memorial
Yesterday was a sad and heartfelt festivity. Almost all the town gathered to where a young boy of six drowned in a lake. Family members say that he ran off on his own and they couldn't find him. His body was found floating on the ice, which was found by his sibling. Everyone grieved, for this was a rare occurrence. The town of Burgess is a small and safe environment. Only once before has this happened. In the records of early 1700's, a young boy of fourteen was suspected to have drowned, although the body was never found. Although a very old photo of him remains, his name wasn't recovered. Toothiana Overland, the local dentist, and her husband Jackson Overland, have funded and donated to the town to make sure something like this will never happen again. When asked in an interview for the Burgess Gazette of why they donated, they simply said, " WE know we would be devastated if our children died like that." The lake has been monitored and a life guard will be on duty at ALL times. Plus, a statue of the unknown boy and Steve Wilson, have been placed beside the lake.
I remember this, this was a few years ago. I personally hadn't known Steve, but from what I heard, he was a nice boy. Jake and I say nothing as we look at the other items in the small closet. Only two things were left. That was when I heard the car pull back in. Jake grabs my arm and we rush out, but I get a glimpse of the last two things: a wooden staff and a glass case containing a multi-colored feather. And I SWEAR I saw the staff glow for a second.
