Kira finally woke up and his beloved was called with the ship's intercom. The news made her very happy and she went to Kira's side, she was even reminded that she should not run, she was now carrying a passenger. This made her slow down, but quickly was debating as to when and how to tell Kira the news. It would be 2 more months and she would start showing signs, but right now he just woke up. She would give him time to recover or at least she hope he had time to recover. She also knew that they had landed far from their intended destination. They were now within ZAFT held territory.
Andrew Walfelt was considered to be a very good officer, and considerate commander. His troops all liked and respected the man, his wife was a vision of beauty and the most kind 2nd in command they ever had. But the one thing they could never understand was, how could their commander drink hot coffee at the current temperature on desert. They knew he loved brewing his coffee, and making different blends, but the heat of the desert made them want some lemonade, or some ice tea, but hot coffee? Andrew was looking through some binoculars at the sleeping ship, the one that their space forces had failed to destroy. He was particularly interested in the mobile suit pilot, from what he heard, he was a very skilled pilot. He wanted to talk shop with this pilot, both as a pilot, and about his taste in coffee.
As Kira was about to get up, Murrue walked and stopped him telling that he needed some rest, and Kira told her that what he needed was to make sure she was alright, which only made the doctor comment that this was going to be the longest honeymoon period in recorded history, and he felt them alone. Murrue asked him several times if he was feeling any pain, this made Kira notice that she was worried about something. Kira had to ask her if she was alright, seeing that he would not rest willingly, she decided to just drop the news on him. If what people said was true, he would faint and the he would get the much needed time to recover. "Well, the ship is fine, the crew is alright, and I am 2 weeks pregnant with our first child."
Sure enough, that made his faint, and she wondered why men did that. She did not care, she climbed onto the bed and she too fell asleep, finally being able to since she missed his warmth. Flay wasn't that happy about the way she missed her chance to use the coordinator freak against his fellow space freaks. Sai could not help but to wish he and Flay had a relationship like the Captain and Kira, at least until he was slapped behind his head, and told to quit daydreaming, that he had a few more ours on his shift, by a very upset Natarle.
It was the next day when she was awakened by Kira's lips on her and his hand on where their child was growing. "So our first child, I had hoped that we might have our child in time of peace, but I guess I should be happy to have my first child, with the woman I love." Kira asked her if she knew what to names she wanted for their child. Murrue was surprised by this, "No, i haven't spent much time thinking about names." Kira made a few suggestions, Setsuna if their child was a boy, and Maria if she was a girl. Murrue asked why Setsuna, he told her that it was much better than Kira, and then he told her of all the horrible nicknames he had to endure as a kid. This made Murrue laugh and feel much closer to her dearly beloved.
At night the expected happened 3 BcCUE's attacked the ship and as expected Kira laughed in the Strike with the Launcher Pack. The first thing he noticed was the ground, he could barely stand and the next thing was that the heat was messing with his aiming. He took a few hits from the enemy but in that time, he reprogrammed the strike to able account for the granular condition of the ground and the heat convection. The next attack was met with a vicious uppercut and then a blast from his massive beam weapon. The remaining enemy did not know what to do. They were supposed to have the upper hand. Andrew ordered that the Lesseps fire the main cannons at the ship. As soon as the first round where evaded. Kira felt a rage like never before. His seed abilities activated and as one of the enemies rushed him he kicked that enemy towards the path of the enemy cannon fire. The enemy died, but 3 more shots were headed, so using his weapon he blasted ahead of the enemy's shots. This destroyed the cannon blasts and without even thinking it he blasted the last of the BcCUE. Kira keep repeating the same thing over and over again. "You try to harm my family, you die."
Andrew knew that he was going to have a hard time with this pilot. He not only reprogrammed the suit's OS fast, but he appeared to have berserker capabilities. "That guy stopped attacks on that ship on 2 fronts, and the info we got said he was a natural. No way in hell that a natural could do all that. Tell our men we are retreating, it appears the rebels are on their way, last thing we need is to be caught between them." The men got ready to board their transports, and Andrew got on his jeep.
Just as Andrew and his men had left, and just as he had foreseen. The rebels came towards the Archangel. Kira was ready to kill them all, until one of the vehicles told him they had no intention of harming their ship. They had come in peace. He only gave them one warning, "Attack and you leave in pieces." The blond woman was very surprised with his anger. This did not sound like when he had saved her on Heliopolis. The leader came to the ship followed by Cagali and what looked like to be her bodyguard.
"We come in peace, as we told your pilot. We figured that you would be in a tight spot, not knowing the region. So I propose you follow us to one of our bases, it will help hide your ship from the enemy, and I might have some information you might find useful." Kira did not lift his aim from them at all. "As a sign of good faith, maybe you could ask your pilot to stop targeting us. We are not here to attack you after all." With protest he did as Murrue ordered him to do. The ship began to follow these people towards one of their bases.
When Kira, Mu, Natarle and Murrue disembarked. "So it was you aboard that mobile suit. What are you doing on that thing." Cagalli did not even give him time to respond. She tried to slap him hard, but he caught her hand and twisted her arm. His eyes looked almost like a machine. "If you want to lose an arm, try to do that again. This is your last warning." Murrue had to step in and asked her beloved, to let her go. His eyes returned to normal and obeyed. "I am sorry, but ever since he found out about my condition he has become very protective. If you had managed to slap him, he would have been sent against me, and I would also be hit." Cagalli asked her what condition could have made him so protective. "I am pregnant with our first child." This definitely caught her by surprise.
The officers went into the base with the man that introduced himself as Sahib Ashman and they were called the Desert Dawn. He offered the officers his coffee machine and both Nartarle and Mu made themselves a cup, when he asked the Captain if she wanted some her reply was that coffee was not good for her child. This made Sahib apologize and offered her some water instead, this was gratefully accepted. "So I take it you are trying to reach Alaska being from the Atlantic Federation. Mu asked him how he knew that, Sahib told him that they had heard how an admiral had defended them while still in orbit. He said that if they weren't, him fighting to the death to protect them would make no sense. "Well you have some hard battles ahead of you, the only course is going through the southern end of their country and then to the pacific union.
Mu asked him why not go through the red sea, that was when he told him that there was a tiger guarding that route. Andrew Walfelt and his main ship were that way, if they were willing they would need supplies to take on someone of his caliber. They were willing to take them to see the town where the Desert Tiger had his base, it could be a good opportunity to buy the needed supplies. Mu asked him why he was helping them at all. "You and ZAFT are both our enemies, you come and take what ever you want from us, then pretend you own it. These lands had been ours and they will always be ours, and we will die before we let anyone take them from us. You fighting the Desert Tiger just works in our advantage. You say we are helping, but I say we are using you and that mobile suit. So I say we are pretty much even."
The next day Cagalli and Kira went to the town where Andrew had his base, and Mu. Nartale and Cagalli's bodyguard went to get the much needed supplies. The thing Flay had asked for were ridiculous. These people could barely eat, and he had pretty much demanded enough beauty products for a movie crew. Kira flat out told her that he was getting essentials for the ship doctor, some food for the cooks, and a few boxes of diapers and a few things to prepare for the birth of his first child. This stopped her from saying anything else, left with a gruff, "Fine." response. The city hid the horrors of war pretty well and after a day of shopping they stopped to get something to eat.
"What is this stuff?" Kira never seen what she had ordered. "Oh, this are Donaire Kabobs." Andrew decided to join them for lunch. "So quite a bit of shopping you two did? Having a party?" He did not need to answer since he saw what looked like a breast milking tool. "No, I am helping my brother buy somethings for his wife." Cagalli told him. "Now you should try some of this chilly sauce on your kabobs." Andrew was not about to sit there and have her do something he considered sacrilege. "Oh, no you don't. You are not going to ruin this guys meal. You should instead try some of this yogurt sauce. No better to say not adding yogurt sauce is a form of sacrilege against Donaire Kabobs." Cagalli did not even wait for him to finish and added to her kabobs her chilly sauce. "Oh, what a waste." She smiled at him, "Delicious."
Kira decided to eat them without any sauce, the chilly was too hot for him, and the yogurt was too fatty. "So you are expecting a child. Congratulations are in order." Kira looked at him and said, "No, you giving me a gun and ducking is." He kicked the table and formed a barracade. "Die, filthy space freaks. For the perservation of our perfect and pure world!" Cagalli understood what was happening. Kira did not wait for them to attack and he took the gun from the guy and shot the blue cosmos idiots as they each began to scream their stupid motto. All four of the blue cosmos guys died shot between the eyes. A ZAFT officer came and asked the man with the hat if he was alright. He even called him commander Walfelt. Cagalli could not believe they had been eating lunch or at least starting to eat lunch with the Desert Tiger.
Andrew took them all to his base, and he told them that she needed some clothes and a bath, she had been covered in sauce after all. Kira was not about to argue away his chance at cheeking Andrew's base, or trying to recruit him and his lover to join Celestial Being. She walked away with Cagalli and told him to join Andy in the study, as he offered him a cup of coffee they began to discuss the replica of evidence 0. He had seen the real thing with his father and told him. "So how is the coffee. It might be a little to much for someone as young as you, but I would like your opinion." Kira sat down and really tasted his coffee. "A little too sweet for my liking. Good for a young lady, but if it's not a little bit bitter it's not coffee for me."
