"Good morning. May I help you?"

The nurse's voice brought Quinn back to present. She already stood in front of the registration table for a few moments before the nurse called up on her.

"Oh, yeah, I have a lab appointment at 10 o'clock," Quinn informed the nurse.

"May I have the name, please? So I can check it out."

"Quinn. Quinn Fabray."

"Please wait a moment," the nurse said as she searched Quinn's name on the system. After a while, she talked to Quinn again. "You have a lab appointment for a pregnancy test, am I right?" Quinn nodded, then the nurse continued, "And also a OB/GYN appointment after that?" Quinn nodded again, and again, the nurse asked, "It's said that you don't have any doctor preference so is it okay if we put you with Dr. Shield? She's one of the most recommended OB/GYN here."

"Yeah, it's fine for me."

"Okay then. I need you to fill in this paper first, then I can register you in," said the nurse as she handed the form to Quinn.

Quinn took the paper and began filling in. It was mostly basic information about her. When she finished, she handed the form back to the nurse who accepted it and asked Quinn to wait for a moment while she put Quinn's data in the computer.

While waiting, a wave of nostalgic memories came into her thoughts. She remembered that five years ago, she was faced with this kind of situation too. But everything felt different. Maybe because now she knew who the dad is, or maybe… maybe because now she didn't really know what she wanted to do.

Five years ago, Quinn knew that she wanted the baby. Sure, she didn't want the pregnancy, but she knew the baby was a blessing. And Quinn proved it right. Melrose was perfect, she always was. Her daughter was her everything. Her life changed the moment Melrose was born and she didn't regret it even a bit.

"Okay, we've registered you in already. I have one more question, how are you going to settle the bill for this?"

The sound of the nurse's voice brought Quinn back. As the nurse mentioned about the bill, Quinn felt uneasy. It wasn't like she didn't have any money. She did have it, but she didn't know if it was enough to cover everything throughout the pregnancy.

"Miss Fabray?"

"Oh, yeah… I—"

A hand suddenly put a credit card on the desk. "Just use this, please."

At the sound of that voice, Quinn froze. She recognized that voice. She knew who was the owner of that voice. It was the voice that she missed so much…

Quinn turned her head and saw the man that had been the subject of her broken heart. "Sam… what are you—"

To her surprise, Sam smiled at her. "If you're really pregnant, that's my kid too. And pregnant or not, you're my girlfriend. So…" Sam trailed off as he turned his attention to the nurse. "Please use this to cover everything."

The nurse seemed a little bit confused by the exchange by both blondes. They were giving each other some looks –lingering looks- and it was a bit strange for the stranger. So she asked, "Miss Fabray?"

Quinn turned her attention from Sam to the nurse. She contemplated for a bit before finally said, "Yeah… just… do as he says, please."

"Okay. I'll put in the data now."

With that the nurse left both blondes. Awkward silence appeared between them, neither knew how to start a conversation.

After what it seemed like forever, Sam broke the silence. "Hey."

"Hi," Quinn replied, not looking at him.

"I… uh… how are you doing?" Sam asked. He didn't even understand why he was so nervous.

Quinn knew Sam was trying to make small talks, but she wasn't in the mood for that. Instead of answering, she just shook her head, let out a small laugh, and finally turned her head to face Sam. "How did you find me here?" she asked, her voice was kinda snappy.

Sam could tell that Quinn wasn't pleased, but instead snapping back at her, he answered calmly. "I… called Mike two days ago. We met yesterday and talked about things and… he told me to find you here."

Quinn shook her head again. "Mike. Of course he would tell you."

"Look, Quinn. We need to talk."

"I thought you wouldn't want anything to do with me anymore? And why would you did that earlier?"

"Quinn, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it, okay?" he said as he took her hands and intertwined it with his. "And I did that because as I said, if you're pregnant, that's my kid too. I missed the chance to be involved in those four years of Melrose's life, and I don't want to miss anything anymore."

Quinn glanced at their intertwined hands. Oh how she missed the feel of Sam's hands around hers. Honestly, Quinn wanted to give in. But then she reminded herself that this was the man that kicked her out less than a week ago.

When Quinn wasn't responding, Sam called her. "Quinn?"

Not moving her gaze, Quinn finally said, "But I'm nobody to you. You said earlier that I'm your girlfriend but both of us know that it's not true. We're just strangers to each other."

"Quinn, I—"

"Alright, Mr. Evans." The nurse came back and eventually stopped Sam from talking. "We've got your card registered. All bills for Ms. Fabray will be charged to your card," she explained as she handed the card back to the blonde man. She then turned to Quinn. "You can proceed to the lab now, Ms. Fabray."

"Okay…" Quinn mumbled as she slowly pulled her hands off from Sam's grip.

Sensing the hesitation in Quinn's movement, the nurse said, "You can go with her, Mr. Evans."

Sam didn't want to make the situation more awkward –he already felt awkward and he didn't need to add that—so he said, "Um… no, I can stay—"

"Come with me? Please?" Quinn cut him off. She bit her lower lip to keep her nervousness away.

Caught off guard, Sam could just nod his head at Quinn's request. The two blondes started their walk to the lab. They walked side-by-side but you could feel the tension between them. They reached the lab not too long after and Quinn settled herself on the bed, while Sam seated himself on the chair next to the bed. Minutes later, the lab worker came to the room.

"Good morning, Ms. Fabray," she greeted.

"Morning."

"So, you want to do a pregnancy test?" she asked as she checked on Quinn's file. When she saw Quinn nodded, she continued, "You took a test before?"

"Yeah, I did. And it was positive. I just want to make sure since with those test, there could be an error."

The lab worker nodded. "Okay. So, this is what we're gonna do. We gotta take samples of your blood then examinee it. Your OB/GYN, in this case Dr. Shields, will tell you the result along with some check-ups."

"How long does it take? I mean, to wait for the result."

"It's only about 30 minutes."

"Okay."

"Can we start now?"

Quinn nodded so the worker started to set the equipment. She came closer to the bed and that was when she noticed another person's presence.

"I'm sorry, Sir. Can you move to the other side of the bed? I'm gonna take it from this side."

"Oh sure," Sam said as he made his way to the other side.

"Are you ready?"

Quinn nodded but immediately shut her eyes closed and her body tensed. Honestly, she was scared of needles but it wasn't like she could complain. The worker seemed to notice Quinn's discomfort cause she turned her attention to the blonde man who sat awkwardly next to the bed. However, Sam seemed to notice that Quinn wasn't that comfortable so he took her free hand and interlaced it with his.

"Hey, babe. You need to relax, kay? It's going to be fine," he said as he rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb.

That seemed to work because shortly after, Quinn opened her eyes and shifted her attention to Sam. "Okay…" she mumbled.

"You'll be fine," he said with a smile.

Quinn tightened her grip on Sam's hand and she only let go when the worker said that it was done.

"All we have to do now is wait for the result. It will come out in 30 minutes. In the mean time, both of you could wait in the waiting room. The nurse will call your name in 30 minutes to do some physical examination before proceeding to Dr. Shields," she informed them.

Quinn nodded. She was about to say something when Sam spoke first.

"Um… is it okay if we stay here for a moment? We kinda need to talk and the waiting room is too crowded," he asked.

"Sure. Just make sure both of you are in the waiting room in 30 minutes," she said as she gathered all the stuff, including Quinn's blood sample, and prepared to leave the room. "Have a nice day."

As the worker left, silence filled the room. Sam was still on his seat, while Quinn already sat herself on the bed, her body was facing Sam but her eyes were set on her clamped hands that were placed on her lap.

"Quinn?"

"Yeah?"

"I mean everything I said to you earlier. I shouldn't say any of those things to you. I know I've hurt you and I feel like crap every time I remember about it," he said as he took her hands. "I really am sorry, Quinn."

Quinn kept her eyes on her hands that were in Sam's hands now. "You don't have to apologize. I deserved everything. I mean, I've hurt you first."

"Quinn, listen. I love you, kay? And I want to fix whatever it is between us."

"There's no 'us', Sam. There were you and Lucy, not me. And you don't love me, because you didn't know me. You loved Lucy, Sam. So please stop saying that."

Sam sighed. "Quinn, will you look at me?" When he saw the girl didn't move even a bit, he added, "Please?"

Quinn noticed the frustration on his voice. Slowly, she lifted her head and finally directed her gaze to the blonde man.

"I know I love you since the first time we met five years ago. Even though both of us were too drunk to remember everything, but I remember that I fell in love with you," he told her as he drew circles on the back of her hand with his thumb. "When I met Lucy two years ago, I felt like God gave me a second chance, you know, to get to know the girl I fell in love with years before. But when I saw her, I didn't feel anything. It was like my heart knew that she wasn't you. Then two months ago, when I came back from New York, I felt like Lucy changed to that girl I met years ago. Maybe my eyes and brain didn't know that you weren't Lucy, but my heart always knew."

Quinn let out a small laugh. "If you knew, why didn't you say anything to stop me?"

"If I knew that Lucy had a twin sister, I would've stopped you. But I didn't know, Quinn."

Neither of them says anything for sometime. Sam just kept rubbing Quinn's hand, while the blonde girl directed her gaze to their hands again.

After what it seemed like forever, Sam broke the silence. He let out a deep sigh before he talked. "I just… I missed so much with Melrose. Her first smile, first word, first step… I missed the chance of being her dad for the past four years. And I just don't wanna miss anything anymore. I want to be a part of both of your life. I want to take care both of you. I want to be a part of your little family with our daughter. Let me be your family, Quinn…"

Sam paused as he saw some tears escaped from Quinn's eyes. From the look of her facial expression, he knew that the blonde girl didn't even realize that she was crying. He wiped those tears away before he continued.

"But if you really don't want anything to do with me anymore, I'll leave. I won't bother you anymore. But you need to remember that I love you," he said as he moved his hands to cup her face. "I love you so much, Quinn. These past days without you had been a pure torture for me cause I really miss you."

Quinn was silent the whole time. She knew she should've said something but she couldn't bring herself to do that. She just let those tears to fall. She couldn't make it stop.

Sam felt his heart broke even more as he saw those tears. Unable to take it any longer, the silent treatment he got from her was painful enough, he decided to leave. He sighed then brushed some of those tears away again. "I love you…" he told her those three words again as he placed a small kiss on the corner of her lips.

As he retreated to leave, a tear fell from his eyes. He couldn't help it anymore. He turned around and made his way to the door when he felt Quinn's hand held back his wrist.

"Sam, wait…" That was all she say when she finally found the courage to say something.

He turned around to face her again. This time, his heart broke even more cause her face was full of tears. Just when he was about to say something, Quinn beat him to it.

"Why didn't you let me say anything…"

"I… I just…"

"Do you… do you mean everything you said earlier?"

Sam approached her and took her hands again. "I mean it. Every single word." He leaned forward and rested his forehead against hers. "I love you, Quinn Fabray. Please let me be your family; let me be a part of your life, together with Melrose and this little one."

"Can we start over?"

Apparently that was all Sam needed to hear cause the second she said those words, Sam brought their faces even closer and kissed her lips. He missed her lips so much.

When they broke apart, Sam let out a small chuckle and said, "We can definitely start over." He pulled her body into a hug. "And I will be here for you. For anything you need. I will also help you to approach Russell and Judy Fabray, if you still want those answers."

Quinn nodded and leaned her head on his chest and wrapped her hands around his waist. "I miss you so much…"

"I miss you more," he kissed her head. "You have no idea."

"I'm so sorry for everything…"

"Hey," he lifted her chin up. "We're both sorry, kay? I've forgiven you already. The question is: do you forgive me?"

Quinn tiptoed and pecked his lips. "I kinda deserve everything you said but yeah, all forgiven."

He tucked some of her lose hair behind her ear. "You're beautiful, you know that?"

Quinn snorted. "I'm not. I look horrible. In case you're wondering, I haven't sleep for days and I've been crying lots. I look like a zombie."

"The most beautiful zombie I've ever seen."

"Shut up," Quinn said as she smacked his chest playfully. It surprised her that there wasn't any awkwardness between them. "Do you think we should be in the waiting room now?"

"I think so," Sam said they broke the hug but he quickly took her hand in his and interlaced it. "Can I call you 'baby' again?" he asked. There was a hint of nervousness in his voice.

Quinn turned to him and stroked his face with her free hand. "You can call me yours, baby," she smiled at him and she lead them to the waiting room.

Hey guys! So sorry for the long wait. I've been travelling a lot this summer, so yeah, I barely have time to write. And I'm sorry that this one is a bit short, I just need it to get out from my head since I've been imagining the things that happen in this chapter since forever and it's hard to write something angsty like this. But at least, Sam and Quinn finally meet and they work things out, right? ;) The lab result and everything will come in the upcoming chapter. I planned to include that in this chapter but let me just save that for the next one, kay?

.key: Hello there! Thank you for reading and reviewing. I'm really glad you like it. So sorry that it took me almost two months to update. Hope you'll like this one too :)

Chloe: Hey there! Thanks for the review. I'm so sorry for the wait. Hope you'll love this one too :)

Overgron: Hello there! Thank you for the review. I'm really glad you like it and I'm so sorry for the wait. Bad part of me. Hope you'll enjoy this one too :)

RJRRAA: Hey there! Thanks for reviewing. A little trivia for you: Lucy's letter was a last minute idea. It wasn't planned before. But that idea just came to me as I wrote that chapter and I guess it will be interesting to add that into the mix. After all, we need to know some Lucy's POV, right? The things she said in that letter, is part of the reason why she killed herself. There's more twist to come. It's like picking up all the puzzle pieces, you know ;) Anyway, I'm so sorry for the wait and I hope you'll enjoy this one too :)

Ashley: Hey there! Thanks for reviewing. And... your wish came true! Not exactly making out, but they reunited in this chapter ;) Oh, I can guarantee you that Sam meeting Melrose or vice versa will be more than cute but you just need to wait for a little bit more. It will happen. Soon. And nope, Sam and Mike are not friends. But they met before when Melrose was in the hospital because of the accident. I'm glad you like that chapter. I wish I could update quicker too, but I've been travelling a lot this summer and it's just impossible for me to write. So I really am sorry for the wait. I hope you'll like this one too :)

Mimi25: Hello there! Thank you for the review. I'm glad you like the previous chapter and again, I'm so sorry for the wait. Hope you'll like this one too :)

As usual, I want to thank everyone who read this story. Leave me some reviews. Tell me, what do you think about this chapter. Whether you like it or hate it. Any questions or criticsms are welcome too. Don't worry, I won't bite ;) I'll see you with the next update soon. See ya!
