"Cheers!"
The group raised their glasses of champagne with wide smiles on their faces. They were currently partying at a club.
Many had stayed back at the hotel, including Mi Nyu, Tae Kyung, Ji Kyung and a few others from both crews. The rest, as mentioned before were partying.
Chin-sun took a big sip from her glass; she was relieved; everything had gone well.
Many in their group had left for the dance floor as soon as the toast was done, Chin-sun looked around. Mi Nam had disappeared off to somewhere. Chin-sun made a face, he was probably flirting with those girls who had latched themselves onto him the moment they had entered the club.
He probably had girls like that around him all the time.
A frown still present on her face, she went over to one of the couches away from the dance floor and sat down.
Almost fifteen minutes later, Chin-sun's whole body seemed to be unnaturally warm to her. She could feel her cheeks heating up and her throat was still burning from the last glass of vodka she had drunk. Yes, she had moved from champagne to vodka.
The corners of her mouth seemed to have turned upwards in a permanent smile and she couldn't bring herself to make a straight face no matter how hard she tried.
"You look happy."
Chin-sun looked up with that smile still on her face.
"Jeremy!" she thought she sounded more excited than she felt but she couldn't help it.
"You shouldn't be sitting here alone, Chin-sun! Move your muscles a bit, let's dance!"
He looked so full of energy, he was asking so hopefully, Chin-sun couldn't bring herself to say no.
She held out her hand for him to take. He took her hand and pulled her to her feet and led her to the dance floor.
"I'm a horrible dancer, by the way," Chin-sun said as she began to move her body awkwardly to the beat of the song.
"I started off bad too. I actually had two left feet," Jeremy whispered the last part as if it was a very deep, dark secret.
It caused Chin-sun to laugh.
Mi Nam watched the two blondes laugh with narrowed eyes. He could see that Chin-sun was drunk; if Jeremy tried to take advantage of her he'd break every bone in his body. As much as he fancied the idea of breaking his band mate's face right now, Mi Nam knew he wouldn't have to do that. Because he knew that Jeremy was a nice guy and he wasn't one to take advantage of girls, however helpless they appeared to be.
"Is she his girlfriend?" the girl beside him asked, her gaze was on the blonde duo dancing rather badly.
Mi Nam didn't have to answer her question; after all he didn't have any obligation towards her. But he felt the need to lay down the fact the Chin-sun wasn't Jeremy's. Even if they were friends, Chin-sun was Mi Nam's friend first.
"No," he said firmly, "she's my friend. She was the photographer for our shoot."
He placed his glass on the counter; he had had enough for the night.
"I'm leaving," he stated walking away without responding to the protests.
His eyes were fixed on Chin-sun. The song had now ended and she was whispering something into Jeremy's ears. His eyebrows raised on their own.
Chin-sun smiled and walked away from the dance floor. Mi Nam let out a breath he didn't know he had been holding.
She walked towards him in a way Mi Nam didn't know she could. Her hips swung and her hair bounced in a way that was attractive.
Mi Nam shook his head as soon as the thought crossed his mind.
Impure, he told himself.
"Why aren't you with them?" Chin-sun asked when she was in front of Mi Nam.
Mi Nam raised his eyebrows.
"Who?"
"Your girls."
Mi Nam snorted, "Why aren't you dancing with Jeremy?"
"Because I want to leave," Chin-sun said simply, "You wanna leave, Mi Nam?"
There was no verbal reply, Mi Nam just put his arms around her shoulders and led her to the exit, a feat that was quite difficult.
It was mildly warm outside and the fresh air was a welcome change compared to the sweaty, stale air inside the club.
Mi Nam hauled a cab as Chin-sun waited patiently waited. She still felt a bit weird but now she was confident that she was in control of her actions.
They got into the cab quickly.
The ride was spent in silence. Silence that was comfortable and welcome to both of them.
Mi Nam paid the driver as they got out of the cab and for some reason he found that his hand was holding Chin-sun' contemplated letting go but holding her small hand felt too nice.
They walked into the reception, it was almost empty. They waited for the lift in silence.
Both didn't know why they weren't talking.
Maybe it was because they were both mad at each other, maybe it was because they were finally with each other with no one to bother them.
Stepping into the lift, they found that they were alone.
"Mi Nam," Chin-sun suddenly broke the silence, "With Jeremy...it isn't like that, okay?"
Mi Nam made a weird noise, "I know."
"Then why do you react that way?"
"I've always been that way haven't I?"
Chin-sun didn't say was true. He never liked her being to close to other guys. He hated every boyfriend she ever had when they were in high school.
So, it was nothing special.
But then why did she feel her heart speed up every time he gave her that look now? Why were the butterflies in her stomach going wild right now?
With a soft 'ding' the lift doors opened themselves.
This was her floor.
She stepped forward and out of the lift and Mi Nam followed Mi Nam didn't let go of her hand.
"Mi-"
She wasn't able to complete when Mi Nam suddenly pulled her closer. His arms wrapped around her waist from behind her and Chin-sun stopped breathing for a few felt his chin rest on her shoulder and then she relaxed.
Leaning against his chest, she placed her hands on his.
"Chin-sun," his voice was soft, "you won't leave me again, will you?"
"No," Chin-sun didn't have to think for an answer.
She felt his cheek brush against her's but she didn't dare turn her head.
Mi Nam loosened his grip on her waist and placed his lips on her cheek. He saw Chin-sun close her eyes.
He was so close, so close to placing his lips on hers when...his damn phone rang.
And just like that the moment was gone. Chin-sun moved away, her cheeks pink and her eyes wide.
"I-I-Good night, Mi Nam."
She walked away quickly. Mi Nam just stood there, his phone ringing in his pocket and his heart beating rapidly.
