Alfred yawned, rolling over in bed. Well, not in bed, more like off of it. He hit the ground with a thud. "Ow."
"Ah! Alfie, are you okay?" Yekaterina leaned over the edge of the bed to check on him.
"I'm fine, Babe."
"Alright…" Kat sat up and stretched.
Alfred whined quietly as he pulled himself to his feet. That fall didn't feel very good, but it wasn't the first time it'd happened either, so he was used to it. "…Hey sweetheart? Can you hand me my glasses? I can't see a thing…"
"Of course, Alfie." She smiled, reaching for his glasses that were rested on the bedside table.
As soon as he was handed his glasses, he put them on and looked at her. "hey, you're wearing that t-shirt I got you!" He grinned.
She nodded, and gestured to Alfred. Or rather, Alfred's shirt. It had the superman symbol on it, and so did hers. "Now we match."
Alfred glanced at the clock, and frowned. "Aw man… I have to leave already? We never get any time together anymore..." He went over to the dresser to change into his work uniform.
"At least we have weekends together."
Alfred nodded, and returned to the side of the bed. "I'll see you tomorrow morning sweetie."
Due to their conflicting schedules, they only saw each other in the mornings, weekends, and holidays. It was rough, but they made it work.
Alfred worked at a fast food restaurant, and Yekaterina worked as a waitress at a… fancier restaurant.
Alfred hurried out the door, but not before giving his girlfriend a small kiss.
