Chapter 15: Training Time!

Koyero's P.O.V

What was going on here? I didn't know Kirito was acquainted with Wukure-san… and how did he get this much information about me, Silica-chan and Sinon going to the Floor 62 to train. I wonder if Knights of Blood and Figo's guild are acquainted in some way since Deira is his sister… Anyway what Kirito said made Sinon quiet for a while so I wonder what's going on in her mind… She seemed to have a dark aura but it quickly disappeared as soon as she gave a big sigh.

"Umm… Kirito-san? Sinon-san?" I felt quite nervous. "…What is it now?" Sinon was the first to respond. "Are you two… mad?" I muttered. "Mad? Why would we be mad?" Kirito questioned me as soon as I broke the silence once more. "I see. Good for me then!" I grinned. "I have decided." Sinon finally spoke. "Umm… what?" I tilted my head. "Kirito will join us in training and we will start today." She muttered. "Like… now?" I twitched. "Hai…" Sinon dragged us both. 'She really likes to keep her training area a secret… doesn't she?' I sarcastically laughed by the thought. "Both of you… don't tell anyone… alright? This training is quite unstable and dangerous…" Sinon warned.

"Hai but can I request one thing?" I poked Sinon as she was dragging Kirito and me. "Fine… just tell me… quick." She nodded while Kirito gave a 'What's going on now?' look. "Can we eat some Udon before we go? I'm gonna call Silica-chan as well to join us." I was starving, alright? "Udon…?" Sinon gave a small smile. "Sounds better than being dragged around…" Kirito jokingly remarked. "Haha…" Sinon agreed with my idea and all three of us teleported to the Town of Beginnings to go to our Mine and Silica's house. "I'll cook~" I volunteered. "Shall I do it?" Sinon seemed nervous when I said that I'll cook. "No you are both my guests so I prepare the food." I crossed my arms as I woke Silica up.

They were all sitting on the chairs while waiting for me, talking about something… I wonder what… Making Udon is quite easy. Just make some noodles, soft of course. Next all you have to do is put it in boiling water for 5 minutes… I added some spices to add flavor… My cooking skill is still 578/1000 so I'm not sure if this thing will make it perfect but it'll be pretty good I hope. Udon is practically the only dish I can make that doesn't end up with Pina chasing me until Silica stops it. Pina surprisingly likes eating Udon as well so that's what I usually make for its appetite. The Udon was ready, steaming hot as ever~ I gave each of them a big bowl of Udon… yes Pina too.

"Don't worry! I didn't put poison of any kind." I reassured them. "Koyero, please stop talking about poison every time we eat please…" Silica drank some water. "…" Sinon was just using her chopsticks to gather the noodles and then she silently ate the noodles. "Simple yet… delicious? To be honest Koyero, I didn't think you'll be able to mix the ingredients right or something." Kirito admitted while sipping some of the soup. "Now you like me Pina?" I stared at Pina. "Rrrghh…" Pina simply growled and ate the Udon. "You… talk to that thing?" Sinon shook her head. "Hai hai!" I nodded. "…" Silica looked like she just did a mental facepalm of some sort.

Anyway since the meal was done we all went out of my home so we can go to her training area and train duh. Silica-chan brought her feathery dragon that she tamed since I don't know… at the close start? Pina is now giving her rides since it's already big because it took 2nd form. Sinon led us to a crater like area that seemed quite suspicious to me… I forgot to mention that we teleported using the teleportation area before we got here… She revealed to us a secret area so we went downer so we could get a glimpse of her training area. The door looked like a black hole to me… She gave me a look that says, "Are you prepared" and so I nodded.

As we went in I felt a mild sting that made me yelp a bit but after all that we all appeared in Floor 76… I accidentally pressed something as we were being teleported I guess… If I remembered correctly this floor is where that fallen angel boss got killed by my accidental Blademake. This time the floor looked practically the same but all the things we killed in this floor were here… For example… there was a gigantic turtle monster on this dessert area! I barely dodged the stomp. Where are the others?! Were we separated?! Shoot… I hope wherever they are they're okay… Kirito and Sinon I'm confident in but Silica and Pina… are a different story since they're both just Level 73.

This giant turtle has been a problem to me slightly in the past but not anymore! "Chaotic Mode!" My attire changed with a black coat and I have become an emo of some sort. "…" The turtle just attempted to stomp me and he did… on my coat. "How dare you…" I was actually being choked since it was like pulling my coat. "Chaotic Blademake…" Instead of my blades being normal steel longswords it was coated with darkness and maybe the effect of fear. "…" I pointed at the turtle and all the 50 blades hurled towards it. "…" The turtle got hit then went in its shell. "…Coward…" I remarked while trying to get it out of its shell.

I turned back to normal Koyero and began kicking the turtle while saying 'Get Out!' to it. The turtle really wasn't going out anymore so I think I should leave it be… I shouldn't waste my weapon durability on a Level 85 turtle! Woah wait… it increased in Level too?! So that means… the boss is stronger too and probably wants revenge since I was the one who defeated it. Asuna also told me that Kirito has actually been secretly training by himself against sub-bosses making him get a new skill called 'Morning Star' which he used to give major damage to the leader of Scarlet Temptation.

I finally decided to leave the turtle alone so I left in search of my lost comrades in this dessert area. The only familiar person I saw was Kirito so I was running to him until something came out of nowhere… it was that werewolf monster thing that Klein killed last time in the lower floors! How did it get here?! This monster was before in the 70's but now he's Level 87… Kirito seemed to be in a situation of his own since I saw him fighting with 5 Level 87 giant scorpions… This training area is insane!

Silica's P.O.V

It's been a while since I spoke since I've been captured by Scarlet Temptation recently and I have gone into hiding from them for a while. I have recently been rescued by Deira after she found me in a cave near Cliffhanger Sundae. Don't asky why I chose that location… okay? Anyway I was separated with Kirito and Koyero but miraculously I was still with Sinon, a Level 90 player with the unique skill of Archery. She made me convinced to become stronger to not hold back my friends and Koyero. Koyero was before a big pain and annoyance but when I got to know him more… well… I kind of fell for him like I fell for Kirito-san.

"I see that accidental pressing of buttons by Koyero made the male and female players separated." Sinon sighed as she saw the situation at hand. "Will they be okay? Can you tell me more about this so called secret training area of yours?" I questioned Sinon and she turned to me. "This place is called 'The Rest'. It is where all the killed monsters go to in specific floors including bosses. This area is very dangerous and unstable so I only tell players that can really handle it or those who I accepted." She explained.

"Accepted?" I stared at her while Pina was just playfully flying around. "It means those who I find worthy of being trained and trustworthy." She raised her index finger. "I trust you since I understand your situation of being weak… When I was in elementary I used to be bullied by many people about my fear of guns. I'm not anymore being bullied by that but I admit that I am still afraid." She muttered. "… I see… Gomenosai for asking this question in the first place." I felt quite guilty of depressing her. "It's fine. Opening up sometimes really helps me." She gave a small smile.

"We should get going." I reminded her. "I agree… let's find those boys first." She led the way and I nodded. 'I wonder what trouble they both went to… it's nothing they can't handle, right? After all they are high-levelled and experienced players so I probably shouldn't worry I hope…' I felt queasy all of a sudden. 'Koyero once told me when we were in an inn together that he'll be in the frontlines but he quickly changed when I recently said that I'll be in the back-up for healing. He chose to become support just to be nearer to me so how could I not at least thank him for making me feel assured that I'll be safe?' I spaced out until Sinon snapped her fingers to wake me up.

"Snap out of it I think I found both of them." She shook me to emphasize her statement. "Nani? Where?" I looked around and I saw Kirito fighting scorpions and Koyero fighting that familiar werewolf thing… "I'll aid Kirito while you aid Koyero, got it?" Sinon made some plans already. "Hai!" We separated and both went to our objectives. "Ahh… Silica-chan! I think It'll be better if you stay back since I don't want to see you killed by this thing…" He gave a worried expression. "I won't Koyero-kun so let me fight." I insisted. "Fine… just because you called me with 'kun' and that you seem confident…" Koyero gave some space so I can join in.

"We faced this thing before and we lost so be careful…" He instantly told me. "I should use a buff skill…" He recommended for me. "Why? Is it for me?" I just landed a few hits with my dagger before switching with Koyero. "Ya, it'll help you fight this beast that almost killed us both last time." He slammed it with his Zweihander but the werewolf thing threw him back. "Koyero?!" I saw him fly past me while I heard him mutter these words: "Switch… Gift of Radiance…"

"It's only one-use so make it count!" He stood up. "Make it count? Okay then. Pina!" I rode on Pina's back so we both can gather momentum. "Skyward Strike!" With the momentum, Pina and I slashed the werewolf together. 'There I changed the name… happy Deira?' I gave a mental message to Deira but I don't think it'll get it through. "Grr…" The werewolf seemed to be blinded now. "That's the buff skill that Deira taught me. The most basic buff skill Gift of Radiance." He rose a finger smiling. "Switch." I turned away making Koyero go in for the attack. "Radiant Blade!" He sliced-and-diced his opponent.

The combinations of our moves were quite synchronized since Koyero seemed to be more controlled and I became quite confident. Even if I drag him down he'll just push me off and keep going. Wait… am I just making myself look bad? He landed more hits than me so I think what I said was true… I'm just Level 73 so how can I even help? All I can do is either hold him back or just heal with Pina. He also showed some new skills like Radiance but I wonder what else can I do aside from slashing with Pina? Pina won't be always with me.

"Silica-chan, Deira told me to tell you something about attacking." Koyero suddenly remembered while he turned to me while blocking the monster's claws. "Hmm? Deira?!" I twitched. "That woman's the one who keeps criticising me… I must not let my guard down no matter what he says…' I thought to myself. "She wanted me to teach you a stance so here goes…" He changed his stance with 1 foot forward making him lean a bit back then he showed something… unexpected… "Yoruski Rush~~~" He stabbed the werewolf with his Zweihander and kept running. "NANI?!" I jawdropped. "Yeah… I don't know either…" He laughed then slammed his opponent down.

'Why the hell would Deira want me to use a move like that?!' I gave a shady expression. "Ask her please." He smiled. "Maybe she has plans… hehehe…" He instantly turned all sadistic. "Umm… shouldn't we beat this wolf first?" I reminded. "Kuso! I completely forgot!" He chuckled. "Vukso told me about you having a new move so can you show me?" I questioned while he went farther. "Oh he told you? Good timing I was about to use it." He smirked. "Blademake!" He summoned 50 blades and made them all pierce through the werewolf. "Silica-chan, go for the final blow!" He literally threw me.

"Try that Yoruski Rush to would you?" He requested. "Fine… just because Deira made that stance for me… even if it's ridiculous." I hesitated but I guess it was the only move that could officially defeat this thing. "Yoruski Rush…" I sighed as my dagger suddenly began moving on its own and stabbed the werewolf. "I-It's moving on its own?!" I couldn't stop and I just kept running after I stabbed it. "Graa…" It became into digital particles. "It'll be back… we should probably go to Kirito and Sinon to aid them on their side." He pulled my arm. "You're right." I smiled and we both began going to Kirito and Sinon's battle until something made a sandstorm and stood on the way.

"Is that?!" I pointed at the monster blocking our path while her wing sprouted from her back. "The fallen angel boss… the one who almost killed all of us…" I gulped as I saw it face-to-face again. "Kuso…" I heard Koyero mutter. "I shall not let you lay a finger on my Silica-chan!" Koyero seemed determined as he wielded his Zweihander tighter. "Hehe… You know I can talk right?" She chuckled. 'A boss that can talk?! Of course I know Kayaba can talk but this I never knew!' I felt a jolt of tense. "I shall rip those wings right out of your pale back…" Koyero turned to Chaotic Mode.

"Try me… I'm Level 90! Before I was just around 80's but now I won't be so easy…" The fallen angel threw her shield and sword then replaced both with a spear and a whip. "I won't be as easy either!" I carelessly shouted. "Oh?" She looked pleased. "Nice one Silica-chan. You must be confident whenever you feel out-levelled." Koyero gave a thumbs-up to me. "Face me and see the unbelievable odds this time!" She charged towards us. "Feel the wrath of me, the fallen angel." She disappeared. "Nani?!" Koyero and I felt pain on our chests.

Kirito's P.O.V

I saw Koyero and Silica fighting a fight for their lives. I couldn't see their opponent clearly but all I can see it that they're fighting a sandstorm. I was fighting 5 Level 87 giant scorpions with Sinon who recently aided me in this fight. These scorpions were just those ordinary scorpions that sting you and stuff like that. These scorpions seem to be calculating… They make moves at the right time and look for openings. Sinon was quite far away obviously because she's going to hit them with her arrows.

"It's quite easy hitting them from here." Sinon continued, beginning to gain a rhythm on her shooting. "It's because you're out of their range and I'm right in front of them." I protested. "I heard from the others that you developed a new skill so let's see it." She stared at me. "I don't see that I have to use it-" I felt a weird sensation. "Yet?" I saw that after I killed a scorpion, another one stung me on the arm. "Kirito! Do not get stung again! Two stings can cause massive damage!" She warned me as she made a volley of arrows hit the 4 scorpions. "Hai… I see that…" My HP was in mid-green already while the poison was taking effect. "Just use it Kirito. You know that it is the only way to kill all of them in a hit." She muttered loud enough for me to hear.

'She was right. One more hit will indeed be massive but won't my Emergency Healing skill help? No… I mustn't be overconfident in my ability and so I must use Morning Star…" I agreed with Sinon. "Sinon, lure them in an area then I'll do the rest." I ordered. "That's easy." She coated her arrow with something and missed on purpose. "Why did you… miss?" I questioned. "Scorpions should get alerted by the arrow to go there…" She answered. She was right. The scorpions really did go to that area.

"Here's my chance!" I leaped to the air. "Oh… this seems interesting…" I heard Sinon giggle a bit. "Morning Star!" I did my new area attack where everything within a 15 meter star radius (yes it increases in power depending on willpower) hack-and-slashed for about 10 seconds by me but in exchange my stamina drops drastically low. "I see… you're special skill is strong indeed." Sinon smiled and applauded as the 4 scorpions became digital particles in the process. "You think we should help them now?" I reminded her. "Yep… these monsters will respawn soon so we better hurry" After she said that, we rushed to the battle of Koyero and Silica against whatever they were facing.

"Haha… Player name Kirito… the Black Swordsman and the Dual wielder… Player name Sinon… The Only Archer in SAO… This is getting interesting." A familiar voice echoed. 'This sounds like that fallen angel we faced in Floor 76 since she only kept grumbling and chuckling that time but now… she can talk? Her weapons have changed into a spear and a whip replacing her sword and shield so that may mean that she'll be focusing on doing long reaching attacks and full offense…' I remembered. "Hmm… I'll be in the back so I'll be in my full power." Sinon patted my back and went farther away.

"Silica-chan! Let's go too." Silica just went beside Sinon, Koyero in the middle while I was in the front face-to-face with a fallen angel boss. "You face me alone? How foolish…" She tried whipping me but I quickly parried the whip and slashed at her but she barely evaded making me cut a little strand of her hair. "Blade Formation…" Koyero seemed to be preparing a move with his Blademake while Sinon was preparing for a volley of arrows so I have to stall them some time.

"Starburst Stream!" I went for a quick combo but she kept blocking with her spear and eventually tied me up with her whip. "Don't even try. This whip is as sturdy as that boy's head times 100." She pointed at Koyero. "Hey! You're gonna regret saying that to me!" He protested against the boss. "Tsk… you have no right to taunt me." She actually taunted. "You know I wasn't aiming to hit you with Starburst Stream right?" I muttered. "N-Nani?" She stared at me in disbelief. "Got you! Blade Formation 2: Double Sided Pierce!" Koyero got my signal and stabbed the fallen angel with his blades.

"Really? You know piercing makes a hole so you don't have to call it double-sided right?" Sinon gave a look of confusion to Koyero as she fired the volley, all hitting the boss. "I-I'm not done yet!" She stabbed me with her spear multiple times and threw me instantly to the ground. "Here she really comes." I warned them all and they nodded. "This is my true wrath…" She became faster and suddenly appeared at the back of us so she's in range against Silica and Sinon.

"You're defenceless when you're in close range!" She whipped Sinon first, leaving her stunned I think. "As for you…" She then gazed at Silica. "Don't face her Silica!" I commanded desperately. "Last Resort." She tried but nothing happened. "Fool! That only works when you're against higher levelled players so that has no use when you're against a boss like me!" The fallen angel laughed in delight as she threw Silica back by slamming her with the spear only, not cutting her.

"Oi! Pick on someone your own size!" Koyero suddenly charged. "I guess it can't be helped…" I charged in as well. "Yes keep trying!" She seemed to get excited as she clashed with Koyero and me with ease. "Phantom Charge!" Koyero attempted. "Not happening…" She used to momentum to stab Koyero hard on the chest. "Koyero!" I widened my eyes in surprise as I saw digital blood spilling. "P-Pina…" Silica weakly muttered as Pina fired healing energy that healed Koyero to late-green HP. "Gomen for being out. Kirito, let's try a synced move." She offered.

"How can we if we don't even know each other." I denied. "Just as planned…" Koyero grabbed the spear of the boss, still stabbed. "Nani?!" She saw her spear off her hands, leaving her with only a whip. "Shattering Flurry." Sinon fired some arrows that made the angel stagger a bit. "Blade Formation: Death from Above!" Koyero made blades pierce through her. "That's what Figo told me about Blademake!" He announced. "Finally, Starburst Stream!" I gave harsh hits to her making her kneel in pain. "Late red." Silica began feeling relieved as she was finally healed by Pina.

"I'll get you all someday…" She panted. "I will still respawn here so I won't really die…" She reminded us. "Shut up…" Koyero muttered. "Final blow…" Sinon gave a headshot making her instantly turn into digital particles. "Hey Sinon, that was kind of harsh." I told her. "I wasn't… didn't you see her weapon that she was hiding?" She made me look at a steel sword with a dangerous coating but it quickly disappeared along with her. "Then I must thank you." I thanked her, smiling. "I levelled up! Level 86!" Koyero cheered. "Level 75." Silica smiled. "I became Level 91." Sinon said. "I am now Level 97… after all this time… I finally… did…" I dropped on the ground.

I felt my muscles ache… actually everything ached. I think I was knocked out since all I see is an empty space. I felt a scorching pain in my gut… did that fallen angel stab me with something? If it did it must be something like poison. Anyway all I feel is numbness… where was I now? I felt like I was being carried so I went off. I was now in Floor 22 with Sinon… I really was knocked out. She gave me a look but I went to my house but before I saw Asuna I instantly slept on the bed… I was dead tired… Probably better to sleep than not…

Extra Scene: Kirito and Asuna's anniversary (Part 2)

Asuna's P.O.V

We were still eating on the table with Silica playing for us. It still felt weird but not as much as before. Silica was playing a slightly catchy tune with her violin. Kirito and I were still eating the bigger meal than we thought. His salmon steak is gigantic while my Cream Dory has so many pieces. Kirito gave a look that says, "How are we supposed to finish these?"

"Asuna-san, do you think they made too much food for us? My salmon steak is like… bigger than my head." Kirito still was eating though. "You know you can both just do take-out." Silica tried to give us a solution. "Are you sure a restaurant like this will allow take-out?" I questioned. "I'm pretty sure they will." Silica smiled and continued insisting. "What do you think, Kirito-kun?" I turned to Kirito. "I'll eat a few more but after that I don't think I can eat anymore…" He was still eating. "Hai." I agreed and continued.

Our meal was surprisingly finished after 20 minutes… how did we eat all that again? Anyway after our 'big' meal we paid only about 2,500 Col then left. That restaurant was surprisingly cheap even if they gave too much big of an order. It was their grand opening so I understand but how did they hire those people playing including Silica that fast and who could be the chef?

The rumors among my fellow guildmates say that the chef was a heart-rob. I wonder what made them go all rumors mode again. Kirito-kun and I were just strolling around the fields thinking of what to do next. What made this anniversary truly fun was being with Kirito-kun the whole day with no interruptions like missions or anything like that.

"Hey, Asuna." Kirito called me. "What is it, Kirito-kun?" I gave him my attention. "Gomen if I made this anniversary feel boring or something like that… there isn't really that much things to do in SAO if you're dating like this." He apologized. "Why are you apologizing? I'll treasure any day that I'm with you no matter how bad or good it is." I comforted him and gave a kiss making him do so back. "Arigato Asuna but I have already decided a place so it's your turn." He smiled making me giggle a bit.

"Any area is good for me as long as I'm with you." I pulled his arm and we continued on our way. "Where are you taking me?" He questioned after a few seconds of me pulling him. "I don't know." I laughed a bit until we accidentally went to that Extra Dungeon… where Yui disappeared in… "…" We were both silent. "I heard from Figo that he made one of his new members named 'Kerzuki' go in that extra dungeon to 'tinker' with some things." Kirito broke the silence. "I see… why is this Kerzuki guy in there?" I muttered. "Some sort of gift for accepting the truce between his guild and ours even if we're already in peace." He answered.

"A gift? What gift do you think it is?" I felt curious. "Want to go in and find out, Asuna? I'll understand if you don't want to so give me an honest answer." Kirito waited for my response. "Let's go… even if this will make me feel… sorrow." I nodded but he gave a look like he thought that I wasn't so sure. "Are you sure Asuna?" He gave one last question. "I am Kirito-kun. Shall we go in?" I smiled to make him lose his doubt. "Hai let's go in. If we find some of those frogs from last time and get their meat, can you cook it?" He chuckled a bit. "Nice try but I will never cook those frog legs no matter who asks." I denied his request.

"Hehe… I know but it worth a shot." He joked. "Hurry up I'm already in." I called him while I snuck inside. "Sure." He went in and began navigating around this Extra Dungeon where we went to before. "We haven't been here for a while, haven't we?" I sighed. "Hai, the last time we visited for her sake was 2 weeks ago because we had a situation in our hands these past weeks." He was talking about Yui. 'Could that be the gift that Kirito-kun was talking about? Will he actually create a way to bring Yui back even for a minute? If that's the gift then I shall readily accept them as my allies.' I hypothesized for now but I wonder what the gift really was…

This isn't probably what most couples do in their anniversary but we're in a game so it's hard to think of good dating spots and stuff like that. Kirito and I were slashing our way through some of those from frogs that Kirito insist me to cook when he gets some of their meat and some Skeletal Warriors in full body armor but that didn't affect our chances in defeating them. After a few more encounters with some other monsters and those frogs we finally arrived at the area where we battled that Reaper which was defeated by Yui in the past. We saw someone in the area where Kirito button-mashed to attempt to take Yui back but it just gave us the item called Yui's tear, the necklace that I'm wearing.

He was a young-looking person with a blue cloak. On his back is where his weapon was hanging. It looked brand new and powerful. He had hazel brown eyes and messy black hair reaching to his shoulders. He had a positive and at the same time a negative expression on his face when he saw us approach him but he regained his cool and gave a small smile.

"You both must be Kirito and Asuna. My player name is Kerzuki and I'm a scythe user… Glad to make acquaintance…" He bowed and continued inputting some buttons on the system. "What exactly are you trying to do, Kerzuki?" Kirito stepped forward. "Oh… I'll be 'retrieving' the gift that Figo told me to get and give it to you." Kerzuki responded. "What is the gift?" I let curiosity take over. "I shall use the code to get your daughter back… I assure you both…" He began pressing buttons in an inhuman speed and the system began to glow. 'C-Could this be?' I thought and maybe Kirito-kun did as well.

"Quick. Give me that item that the system gave." Kerzuki held out his hand probably talking about Yui's tear. "H-Hai…" I hesitated to give it but I eventually gave it to him. "You better not break or lose it." Kirito warned while watching him. "Trust me on this one." Kerzuki pressed the last few buttons and the necklace began glowing as well and change form. "Mama… Papa…" A very familiar voice echoed in the room. "Y-Yui?!" I had tears of joy flowing on my face. "…" Kirito was speechless but I knew that he had the same emotion as me.

"The code has succeeded. It took about 2,378 combinations and I am not joking. I was here since midnight just for this truce. I hope this shall strengthen the truce between us." Kerzuki smiled. "Arigato…" I hugged Yui and so did Kirito. "Mama… Papa… I'm finally… able to see you again." Yui was crying and hugging back. "I'll be taking my leave now." Kerzuki left using a crystal. "Now this made our anniversary better hasn't it?" Kirito shredded a tear as well as Yui was hugging us.

"Hai… This is the best anniversary a couple could ever have… their child coming back to them." I kissed Kirito and he did back. "Mama, Papa Kiito, are we going to go home?" Yui blinked. "Yes Yui." I smiled and patted her head making her giggle. "We'll finally be a full family again… Welcome back Yui." Kirito welcome Yui with another hug. 'I wonder what kind of code that Kerzuki used and how did Figo get his hands on that code to get Yui back? It's probably better not to know so I'll ignore it for now.' I thought to myself.
