I wrote another one, and you know what? I like this one very much! It's not great, it's not long, I've made themes better than this, but I like a lot! I hope you will too! Please read, and enJOY!

Life had been hard on him. Zoro was not one to dwell on the past and drown in regrets, but he had to admit that it had been very difficult at times. He'd never say it aloud though...

Choosing to become a swordsman had given him a few obstacles, one of which that had taken form in an older girl; the one he'd considered his rival. Never one had he been able to defeat her in a fair match. But she hadn't only been his rival; she had been his best friend. And wit his promise to her, the one about become the best swordsman in the whole seas, he had only added difficulties to the piles he had created by himself. The next thing he had known, she was dead and never to be seen again.

He had somehow pulled through, swearing to himself that he'd keep his promise no matter what. How he found himself trapped by the marine, strapped to a wooden beam firmly planted in the soil, and left to waste on his own? He still wasn't sure. He could still remember the insatiable thirst, abominable hunger, his overly weakened muscles trembling with fatigue and malnourishment, his skin burned by the relentless sun... The worse was that he hadn't been able to do anything about it. Yes, life had truly been hard on him.

On top of it all, he had had to join Luffy's crew in exchange of being saved by said man and follow his captain wherever the hell he had wanted to go, more often than not ending up in trouble. Zoro couldn't count the number of times he had slipped from Death's grip by a hair... He had received many injuries at Luffy's indirect orders, he had seen his companions, who with time became his friends, face similar dangerous situations, never once getting out unscathed.

Yet, he couldn't deny it had all been worth the good times he had spent with this crew. Life might have been hard on him, but it had been generous enough to let him have a good taste of what pure joy was.

"I see an island!" Brook yelled from the crowsnest. Ignoring the skeleton's usual jokes, Zoro slipped one eye open to glance at the horizon, seeing a large perimeter of dark rocks and black mountains. Even from such a distance, he could see puffs of green smoke, clearly something potentially poisonous, coming from deep craters in the ground, coming out in tiny explosions.

"ADVENTURE!" It seemed like his captain also noticed the strange and dangerous island up ahead, and was planning to force them all out of the security of the ship to send them all to a most certain death. Again.

"Oh, joy..."
