Chapter 14: Home
AN: Here's the next chapter everyone! Alright, confession time…This is the last chapter! *wipes away more tears* I hope you've enjoyed it!
ALEX'S POV
He was gone. That's all I could think about on the way back. After everything…he was gone. After every encouragement, every time he proved me wrong, all the times he helped me survive one day just so I could live to see the next one. He was really gone. All those times he was there for me, I couldn't be there for him when he needed me most.

I walked off the Quinjet and onto the Helicarrier. My memories were starting to come back now; I think I remembered this place a little. I still don't remember everything though.
A man with an eye patch came up to us. He was looking at me with concern. I looked to my parents who were looking ahead.
"Romanoff, Barton." The man greeted. My parents gave a nod. He looks at me.
"So you decided to come back, Alex?" He asked in a smug tone. I look at him then my parents. They gave a nod.
"Director Fury; she doesn't remember much right now." My dad said. He raised an eyebrow.
"The Renegade wiped her memory. Thankfully, it wasn't permanent." My mom spoke up. He eyed me and then nodded.
"That still doesn't explain why you came back to SHIELD." Fury said. Now I remember this guy. He was a pain in the ass. I just saw one of my best friends die; I'm not in the mood for this shit.
"Director Fury, I know I screwed up…" He sent a glare at me. "Ok, I really really really really screwed up. But I swear I can prove myself again." I tried to convince myself that that was true and that I really could prove myself. But I could see it in his eyes…- or-, eye. He didn't believe it for a second.
"Report for debrief in ten minutes." He said, and then walked back inside. I huff and nod. My dad walks up to me.
"That means you go-"I cut him off.
"Dad, I lost some of my memory, I'm not stupid." I roll my eyes and head for the door. Natasha and Steve chuckled.
AVENGERS
After debriefing I followed my parents back to the quinjet. I knew Fury didn't believe me. It would take a hell of a lot more than that to become a SHIELD agent again. I apparently had friends back at Avenger tower, some people called, Danny, Kate, Astrid, Arthur, Nathan, and Liz. The names sounded familiar…but I didn't want to see them. I wanted to see Bobby. I can't believe we just left. I can't believe I didn't try harder to get to him.
I'm shaken out of my thoughts as we walk onto the quinjet and take off.

The quinjet lands and we walk onto the landing platform. Several teens run up to me and I went into a fighting stance. But soon realize that they were my "friends". A girl with blonde hair ran up to me and gave me a huge hug. I was lifted into the hair slightly and yelped. She set me back down and two other girls along with Skye group hugged me.
"Alex! /I can't believe you're alive! / We thought you were gone!" They all said. I smile as they come out of the group hug. I remembered them slightly. Three guys came up to me that I recognized and one other, I didn't remember him. The guys gave me gave me a pat on the back or fist bumped me.
"Welcome back to the land of the living. / Good seeing you alive. / It's good to have you back." They said. I gave them a nod and the guy I didn't recognize walks up to me. I shake his hand.
"I'm- uh, Johnny." He said. "We haven't met before."
"Alex. " I give him a smile, he smiles back. Skye walks up to us.
"Come on, I think there's someone that's wants to see you." She said. I nod and follow her inside.

We walk into a dark room. I remember this room! It was mine. Skye opens the curtains and I give a quiet gasp. Everything was left where it was. On that day it all started when we left for that mission. My sketch pad was open with a pencil in the middle, a half done sketch of a horse on it. There was a book open on my nightstand. It was titled: The Night Stalkers. Some kinda army book I borrowed from Steve. And my bed was made. Pepper must have been cleaning, but she left my personal stuff right where it was.
Skye walks over to something by my bed. I look over and see a bird. I give a confused look.
"Remember Jace?" Skye looked at me. I nodded slowly. I eyed the hawk, his big eyes looked into mine and he makes several chirping noises and I subconsciously put my arm out and he flew to it, landing gracefully. His claws dug into my skin a little, but not too much. "Looks like he remembers you." She observed.
"Yeah." I said simply. I stroke the top of his head and he makes a chirping noise. Liz flops down on my bed and Skye sat in my desk chair. I sat on the floor, Indian style while Jace hopped to my shoulder.
"So, uh… what happened exactly?" Liz eyed me. I let out a breath. I really didn't know how to begin.
"…I uh. Um. It's kinda hard to explain." I began.
"I got time." She says, hugging her knees to her chest. I nod.
"Well, it all started in a cave."
AVENGERS
Two days after my return to the tower, I finally had a good portion of my memory back. I was hazy on a few things but otherwise, I was getting it. The reason I remembered Bobby so soon was because he was one of the last people I had been with for the last few months. The more frequently I had seen the person before the memory crap the quicker I remembered them.
I walked into the kitchen that morning smelling bacon and eggs. I was wearing an oversized black t-shirt and some navy blue sweat pants. I joined the other teens on the couch. Liz was sitting on the carpet in shorts and a cami, while Sky, Astrid and Kate were sitting to my right on the couch; talking while watching some show called Amazing World of Gumball, on Carton Network. I was weird and oddly funny at the same time. I get up and get a plate with food then come back and sit down. I take a bite of scrambled eggs as I look at the TV.
"Hey Alex, wanna go to the coffee shop?" Liz looks over. I shrug. I don't think I remember this one.
"Sure, I guess that'd be fun." I smile. Skye turns.
"Sounds like a plan. I'll go get dressed!" She runs for the elevator and I follow.
AVENGERS
We had just gotten to the coffee shop; I ordered a plain coffee with sugar and cream. Skye and Astrid had gotten Mocha, and Liz got some fancy thing I've never seen before.
We all sat down at a window table. I sip my coffee and look around; it was starting to come back, bit by bit. Everyone sat in silence for a few minutes.
"So…are you glad to be home?" Astrid says. I quickly nod.
"I don't know what got into me, honestly." I say. "I don't know how I'll be able to repay any of you for taking me back after that." I say as serious as possible. They smile and nod.
"What are best friends for?" Liz says, putting a hand on my shoulder. We sit for a bit longer.

After walking around the park, we returned to the Tower. I follow the others in. Skye sat on the couch while Liz went over to help Nathan with something. I look at everyone; having a good time; smiling and laughing. I smile.
I'm finally Home.
